Well, duh. Why else, besides boredom and entertainment, would a group of people come up with a game? Or games, in this case.

Hmm...well. There was one other idea. Sierra smirked as she raised her hand. "...because who doesn't get a thrill out of competing and winning?" she suggested. It was one of the main reasons she got involved in Quidditch in the first place. The love of the game came second. "...and playing a sport was a fun way of doing that."

That was the Slytherin coming out in her.

Vindictus raised a disapproving eyebrow at the Hufflepuff and Slytherin who arrived late, and he immediately took away 5 points each from their houses for their blatant tardiness while listening to all of the answers.

"Three points to each of you who answered my question," he finally replied. "Today we're going to let out some aggression and practice a Quidditch skill."

He pointed to the broom rack. "Grab a broom and on the backside of the rack there's a box of Beater's Bats. After you grab one, please line up along the side of the pitch."

Broom time! HOLLA! Tori hopped up from the ground, no longer so yawny, and skipped over to the broom rack. She plucked out the best looking one and then lined up where Vindictus had told them to.

Ummmm she was SO gonna knock Sierra Greingoth off her broom if she could.

Eino couldn't think of any 'aggression' that he needed to let out, but he could always use some extra practice and improve his flying skill. At the man's instructions, Eino quickly made his way to the broom rack and picked up a broom for himself. Next, he made way to the box that was sitting nearby and took a beater's bat. He returned to where the man was standing, and lined up behind some of the other students. He had enjoyed playing beater position during his first match, so he was looking forward to swinging the bat around.

Kourtney scrambled to her feet as Professor Vinductus indicated that they grab a broom and a Beater's bat. She selected a broom first, and then walked over to the rack that held the box of bats. Carefully hefting one out of the box, she tested its weight. Heh, a little on the heavy side, but she would get used to it eventually.

Once that was done, she took a spot on the side of the pitch, awaiting further instructions.

WOOP. House points!

Ahhhhh yes! Without delay, Macy rushed towards the pile and picked up a decent-ish looking broom. Really, she wished she could have brought her own. Mneh, rules were rules. And stopping by the pile of beater's bats on the way to the side of the pitch, she weighed it in her hand. It was more or less about the same quality of the one she had at home. That didn't necessarily mean she'd be quite as good with it, especially since most of her last summer had been spent at her Aunt Simone's house rather than hitting things at her twin brother. Yes, she'd be a little rusty, but it would be good practice.

Lining up as instructed at the side of the pitch, Macy bounced on the baalls of her feet, a grin spreading wide across her face. She was so ready for this.

Kurumi remained silent as the discussion went on, having no idea why broom games were invented. That is why she was in the lesson, right? To learn. Flying was certainly not her strongest subject, which was ironic considering she played Seeker, but when she was on the pitch for match day it was as if an entirely different person had taken over and she was no longer Kurumi Hollingberry: unofficial house elf, but Kurumi Hollingberry: daredevil flyer complete with leather jacket and shades.

When instructions were given to grab a broom and a beater's bat, Kurumi scampered over before returning to her spot.

Kennedy stood up and went to retrieve a broom and a beaters bat, then went to stand where Vindictus had directed them to. It was actually his first time holding a beaters bat. He's always seen them, but it felt really cool. Now, who was going to whack with this, eh?

Not that he actually wanted to do that. Plus, there seem to a lot more girls than guys, so that would be bad.

"EEEEPPP."Alyssa almost yelled out aloud. "We are going to be playing Quidditch. That's so cool, and my favorite position too, Beater. This is going to be lots of fun," Alyssa thought to herself. She quickly went up to the broom rack and picked out a broom. Then she went to the backside of the rack and selected a Beater's bat that she felt comfortable handling. Holding the broom in one hand and the bat in her other, she walked up and lined up along the side of the pitch.

Yay! Three points! Fun!

Following Professor Vindictus' instructions, Erin moved towards the broom rack. She grabbed one and said smiling, "Hello you, broom." Looking at the other students, they gathered onto the box of Beater's Bats. Blimey! They're playing today!

Games were always fun!

Ashley was way too excited to go and claim the items they had been instructed to grab. Mostly the broom, though. Even though the last one he'd used had decided he'd rather be upside down 95% of the time, he'd even gotten used to that. Happily, he grabbed a broom and a bat, then went off to line up where indicated, already anticipating whatever they were supposed to be doing. Whatever it was, it was going to involve flying, and that was awesome.

Flyying. Indiana loved flying, andd they got to use beaters bats. That was so cool. Indy was feeling pretty excited about that. Maybe if she was like really good Ellie would let her be a beater on the quidditch team. She was totally going to steal Spike's uniform again, and pretend she was a beater. Because that would be so cool. The little ravenclaw went over, and retrieved herself a broom, a nice broom, and a beaters bat. This was going to be soooooooo cool. After collecting her two things she returned to where everyone else was, and stod beside her bestie Kourt. She beamed at the gryffindor. Oh Yes. Indy was looking forward to this sooo much.

Raven raised her hand to answer the question

"Since brooms were the most favorite transportation in wizard community. They think that broom games will be very interesting and many wizards will love it." said her calm.

Then Raven took a broom and a beater's bat.

We will practice how to be a beater?? Cool!!!

Were they going to be hitting each other with beater's bats? No, that would stupid. Besides, Professor Vindictus won't let them. As much as she wanted to But then how were they going to release aggression?

They could hit the bludgers.

Oh yeah. She almost forgot about the little blighters. So, without another word, she grabbed a broom from the rack, choosing the newest looking one before grabbing a beater's bat with that. Then she joined the rest of the students who were lined up at the edge of the pitch.

This should be fun.

Beaters bats? Really they were going to whack things while in the sky?

Awesome. India was excited to say the least - pretty much skipping over to the where the beaters bats and brooms were held...well she had her own broom - but the beaters bat was moi importunate. Grabbing it she walked back over to where she had been standing and awaited further instructions.

For all she knew they could play a human game of whack-a-mole. Or in this case whack-a-witch or wizard.

Retrieve beaters bats? She has never played a beater before. This is going to be very exciting! Aiden gets the broom she bought the month before the term started and a beaters bat. Ooo... This is going to be fun indeed! Smacking bludgers in the air...

Elise grinned. BEATER BATS!

Skipping over to the broom rack, she picked out the nicest-looking one left and a beaters bat.

Then, she joined everyone else at the edge of the quidditch pitch. BEATER BATS!

Harvey grabbed a broom and bat and went and stood where they were told to stand. He then waited for further instructions from the professor.

"Sorry Professor" Minerva said with her head down. 5 points. She was so disappointed in herself. She walked over and grabbed a broom as well as a beater bat then took her place on the side of the pitch.

Isabelle picked up her broom quickly and went to get a beaters bat. Not exactly her best Quidditch position. Isabelle prefered chasing or seeking. Whatever. Maybe she would actually be able to do good. Maybe she would find a new Quidditch position for herself. You never know until you try. With one hand on her broom and the other grasping a bat she lined up next to the others along the side of the pitch.

Penny hadn't been feeling well, so had stayed quiet so far, but when told, she went and got a broom and beaters bat like everyone else..

Penny loved quidditch, and if anything would make her feel better - it was Quidditch.

Selina nodded when he awarded the points out to herself and her classmates. He then moved onto dictating directions. Vindictus instructed everyone to grab a beater bat and a broomstick. Personally, Selina was more of a fan of her own broom, but she knew better than to argue with Vindictus. So she zipped her lips and did as she was told.

Once she had all of her stuff she got in line with everyone else.

"Today, you're going to practice hitting objects in the air," began Vindictus as he approached the line of students who were all holding broomsticks in one hand and Beater's Bats in the other. Then he stopped in front of Sierra Greingoth. "The objects are not your fellow classmates."

He turned around and pointed his wand at the moving purple tarp. It vanished to reveal enormous gumdrops hovering above the grass.



With another flick of his wand, the enchanted gumdrops floated up into the sky.

"The objective is to practice hitting the gumdrops around the pitch so the only thing you should worry about is a classmate hitting a gumdrop directly at you. You may begin on my whistle."

Professor Vindictus brought his silver whistle up to his lips and blew.
