Having watched Matt do it absolutely perfect, TJ got nervous. Did they have to be that perfect? Her eyes grew wide as the woman said it was her turn, glancing at the other girl that would be after her. Letting out a nervous shuddering breath, TJ closed her eyes clearing all thoughts from her mind.

With a pop she disappeared and reappeared into the first hoop. Wobbling a little as she appeared, she nearly groaned aloud as she caught her balance. Biting her lip she looked fearfully at the woman, she did say if she stayed in the hoop she passed...right? Stepping from the hoop, she looked back where she had been and didn't see any body parts or pieces still hovering.

But she WOBBLED! Moving to stand next to Matt, she covered her face with her hands.

Once the three ladies stepped over, Katherine frowned a moment wondering where the male was. Ah, no worries, she'd given them time and they'll just have to come back to him for his practical test. "Right then, let's get started. What you'll have to do is quite simple - this hoop here, when I give you the go ahead, you'll disapparate from where you're standing and apparate into that hoop. And then disapparate from the hoop, appearing outside the hoop. If you get splinched, you fail and you'll need to retake the test at the Ministry at another time convenient for you." She paused, looking at each of their faces to make sure they understand. "Same thing goes if you apparate but miss the hoop. Now, Miss Flores? You're up first." Nothing like going in alphabetical order.

Instructions. It was starting!

She understood what was expected of them and the whole 'pass versus fail' line, however, she was NOT expecting her name to be called first for this. Opening her mouth to argue suggest that someone else go first, after a quick glance and small hesitant gesture to the others, Evelyn snapped her mouth shut and took a deep breath. "Alright." She could go first. The urge to take a few steps closer to the hoops was hard to ignore.

Readying herself, she cleared her thoughts, focusing on just the center of the hoop. No splinching. Just the center of the hoop. Destination, determination...deliberation. Center...of the hoop. With a small 'POP', she disapparated from where she stood, and reappeared in the hoop. Oh for the love of Merlin, does that sick feeling ever go away? Blinking, there was the thought that there was no time to really look around to see if there was the possibility that she had been splinched arose. She still had to disapparate outside of the hoop. Though where or how far wasn't made clear by Ms. Spades.

A moment later, there was another little 'POP', and Evelyn was standing just outside of the hoop, maybe a foot away...and rather pale in the face. Perhaps she could play that off as nerves if it came down to it, but there would be no explaining if her lunch reappeared again. Seriously. The sick feeling DID go away later on, RIGHT!?!? It was worse than side-along apparition. Looking around slowly to see if anything was left behind, a weak smile grew on her face as she looked to the Ministry lady person. THERE! There. She was done. Can she...sit...now?

After hearing that she had PASSED the theoretical part of the exam, Destiny rushed her way over to where the practical part was being held. She couldn't believe it, she had PASSED! And the examiner test giver person didn't even say anything about passing her because they felt pity for her.

With a smug grin on her face, she reached the area and seeing that both Evelyn and Marie were about to take their test, she quickly covered her eyes with her hands.

And her fingers began to slowly spread apart.

Oh look! Evelyn had done it! And she didn't even splinch all her hair off!

Katrina watched carefully, noting how nervous Miss Michaels seemed but remained quiet, instead, she opted to drink her coffee. Nothing like a little caffeine to get you through the day... or a lot of caffeine. The girl had popped into the hoop though wobbling slightly. Must be how nervous the girl was. Katrina took note of it and smiled at her. "Good job," she said, before gesturing to Miss Salazar to go.

"Miss Salazar," Katrina said.

Noticing the girl's hesitancy, Katherine jotted down a few things on her parchment, as she then took to watching the girl. At first she actually thought the girl wasn't going to do it. Was going to say something about waiting. But then, she seemed to gather the courage and she did it!

But she looked very green. And even greener - if that were possible - when she apparated out of the hoop. Regardless though, she hadn't splinched and she hadn't cheated. "Very well, but please, take a seat. Have some chocolate." Before calling the next name, she walked over to her handbag and removed a chocolate bar. "We don't want anyone passing out now, do we?" It would be a horrible way to fail. But she did make sure to document the fact that the girl would need to be watched during her first few times apparating. Considering her post-apparating appearance (and it wasn't even a long distance)

Once she ensured that Miss Flores was alright, she turned back to the others waiting. "Miss Greenwell. Your turn."

It looked so easy when other people did it...

Though the Head Girl didn't look too well. Was this what Apparition did to people? WHY did they all expect them to do this then? And the Ministry woman wanted HER to go next?!

Erm...

Vashti nodded. Whatever happened, she couldn't turn back or give up now. She knew she'd regret it if she didn't try. So she focused her attention on the hoop, picturing it in her mind...picturing herself appearing safely at her destination, determined to appear without Splinching herself...

What was the third one?

Deliberation. Right. Focus. Destination. Determination. Deliberation. Appear in the hoop in one piece...

POP!

A brief unpleasant feeling...and then she found herself in a different spot. Looking down, Vashti discovered that she was now in the center of the hoop. Excellent! That hadn't been too bad. Now she had to Apparate out, right?

She focused once more on a spot just outside the hoop, recalled the Three D's, pictured herself disappearing and reappearing safely...

POP!

She was gone - that awful Apparating feeling was back - then it was gone and she had reappeared. Looking down once more, Vashti was relieved to find herself in the spot she'd intended and still without Splinching herself. Thank Merlin. But...ugh. She really didn't want to do it again. So hopefully she'd passed and she could go sit and not worry about it any more...

Marie watched carefully as the others before her apparated into the hoop. Wishing she had been the first to go... so she would already be finished, she took a deep breath and slowly let it out when it was her turn.

You can do this she told herself as she stepped forward. All she needed to do was remember the three Ds of apparation: Destination, Determination and Deliberation and everything should work out just fine.

Looking over at the hoop she knew exactly where her destination was going to be. Right in the middle of that hoop, that's where. She was determined that no matter what, she was going to do this... without splinching. Closing her eyes she pictured the center of the hoop in her head, deliberated about it for only a few seconds and then with a 'Pop' she disappeared from the spot she had just been standing in only to reappear in the center of the hoop.

Opening her eyes she first looked down at her feet.

YES!

They were right in the middle of the hoop. Exactly where they were supposed to be. She then did a quick once over of her body making sure all parts were there. Satisfied that she didn't leave anything behind she carefully stepped out of the hoop.

Looking over at the ministry lady who seemed to really be enjoying that coffee, Marie gave her a smile. "So, where to next?" Okay, so she knew it was going to be one of the two remaining hoops, she just didn't know which one.

Now, let's get a move on people. Marie had things to do... like ace this practical part of the exam.

Lucy entered the room where the practical part was to be conducted. As she walked in she could already see a few students following the two head present in the room. That made her kinda more nervous than she already was. She walked in quietly and hoped that they did't throw her out for being late.

It was apparition, so it was easy, if you followed the three D's. Simple as everything else. After walking in the room she grabbed a seat and sat staring at the once who had already began with the practical part. Maybe she could watch and learn a bit more. That would surely help her, when it would be her turn to apparate.

Katrina smiled. "Great job, now, one by one, each one of you, in the same order, please Apparate into the next hoop over there," she said, pointing her finger at the hoop a few more feet away. It wasn't hard or anything, but she could see how some people would have difficulty with the actual task. She walked over to the hoop, waiting for each one to Apparate into it. Hopefully it wouldn't take long.

Right now that he had the hang of this, it wasn't going to be bad a second time. At least he hoped so. Remembering exactly what he had done the first time, Matt focused on nothing but the hoop which was quite a bit farther away than the first one. That's not the point, just calm down and repeat what had happened after going into the hoop. He closed his eyes and disappeared with yet another slight pop, as he opened his eyes once more; he noticed that he had apparated right into the center of the hoop again. Just a quick check to see if he had splinched, nope. Everything was there exactly like the first time. Perfect. Stepping out of the hoop, he nodded at Miss Rayne before stepping aside to let TJ go next. I don't see why you need to continue to be nervous, you're doing fine. Just one more hoop and that license is yours! Honestly he couldn't wait for that thought to be true.

Peering through her fingers as the woman spoke and said she had done a good job, TJ was very VERY relieved she'd not just failed because of the wobble! Watching as Marie apparated into the hoop, she tried to calm her nerves again. Well at least she wasn't looking green like the girl in the other group! That feeling had taken getting used to, but she was quite used to that, having side apparated with her brothers plenty of times.

It was the fact of doing... Glancing up as the older woman spoke again, she watched as Matt apparated to the next hoop.

...the fact of doing it alone and being tested for it now! Merlin, it was her turn once again. Swallowing she watched as Matt stepped from the circle and moved to the side again. Taking a deep breath she once again disappeared with a pop, concentrating on the center of the hoop and nothing else.

Reappearing in the center of the hoop, she was at least standing straight and not wobbling this time, though she shook a little still from the fear of the nervousness, she found herself once again in one place. Maybe the fear was good, it was keeping her from being splinched! She was so determined not to be splinched, she wasn't?

Well of course she did a great job. This was something Marie really wanted so there was no slacking here. Slacking during this exam could only end up disastrous.

Standing there she watched the other two as they made their way to the next hoop. Yep, piece of cake. They weren't even leaving the room so of course they could do this. Once it was her turn again she readied herself. Looking over at the hoop she concentrated on her feet landing right in the middle. She then closed her eyes and with a POP she disappeared only to reappear exactly where she wanted to be... in the middle of that hoop. That one, right there, that she was standing in. Not the other one, no that one would be next.

Stepping out of the hoop she hadn't even though to check and make sure all her body parts were there. She just assumed they were... and of course, they were.

Yeah, she was so getting this license. Only one more hoop standing between her and total freedom of travel. Looking at the ministry lady she smiled.

Well, what was she waiting for?

Oh good, she can sit.

Oh Merlin...chocolate.

There was a mix of emotions on her face as she took her seat, calming her rapidly beating heart so she could possibly breathe better, but this WOMAN was giving her chocolate. She took it though. Because she was nice. Or it could've possibly been because this lady worked in the Ministry and if Evelyn was rude, there was a slight chance it could ruin her plan of ever joining there. Slight though. So slight, she could barely see the logic in her thoughts. "Thank you." she mumbled, just holding the evil thing and not eating it.

Actually, just holding it made her feel even more sick. Not like the apparating sick though. THAT part was getting better. It was the 'i'm gunna hurl from being so close to such an evil and horrible food discovery that it's not even funny and I can't do anything about it' feeling. Alas, watching the others take their test would help her forget.

Katrina nodded again, watching as each one apparated into the next hoop though not all had done it perfectly, they had all done well, which was what mattered right? Of course. "Miss Michaels, relax a little, you're doing fine," Katrina promised with a soft smile before the last Slytherin arrived through the hoop and stood there.

"Lovely, and now the last hoop over there," Katrina said, pointing at a hoop a fair distance away. It certainly wasn't as close as the other two hoops had been to each other. She took another looooong drink of her coffee coming to a conclusion that testing students were definitely easier than testing MLE people. Plus, the excited energy in the air was nice... minus the nervousness that some people came with.

As soon as he was instructed to apparate to the last hoop, Matt took a good look at it and froze slightly; why did the nerves have to come back now? This wasn't any different then the first two although it had been the one standing in his way of either getting his license or having to retake it the next year and honestly that didn't seem like the option he wanted now. No, not after people had faith in him that he could pass the first time. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before focusing on the hoop, he was going to do this! With a slightly louder popping sound, he disappeared from the spot that he was standing and as he had opened his eyes; he noticed that he was in the middle of the hoop. Wait, it happened? He did it? Doing the final check to make sure that everything was still attached to him and that he hadn't ended up splinching now since that would have sucked. Once he realized that there wasn't anything missing, he had carefully stepped out of the hoop and smiled at the instructor. Though now he got to watch TJ again, since she could pass this last hoop.

Watching as Marie went and instructor said it was time to apparate to the farthest away hoop, TJ was determined not to be nervous. She could do this, once she had apparated the first time she'd been able to each time, no problem. Not splinching once. She could do this! This last hoop, was it, either she passed or failed. If she was going to splinch she would have done it a long time ago!

A smile flickered on her face as she watched Matt apparate again, it was her turn and she was going to do it and do it right! Clearing all thoughts from her mind again, with a pop she disappeared and reappeared perfectly in the center of the hoop. Beaming she turned to the instructor gave her a smile and stepped out standing next to Matt.

After finishing the written exam Timber made his way into the Great Hall where several groups of students were already taking the test as he waited his turn he carefully went over everything in his head. he took a deep breath he as going to do well he tried to convince himself as he waited.

Alright, this was it. The final hoop, the hoop that would determine if she got this license or not. No pressure here... right.

Watching the other two apparate into the final hoop Marie cleared her mind of everything but that hoop on the other side of the room. She could do this, she could. Just as soon at TJ stepped out of the hoop that is.

And now it was her turn.

Taking a deep breath... again, Marie closed her eyes, pictured the hoop waaaay over there and with a Pop, she was soon standing in the middle of said hoop. Opening her eyes she looked down at her feet. Yes, they were standing in the middle of the hoop. She then looked to make sure all body parts had made it to the hoop with her... and they had.

YES! She did it.

Smiling as she stepped out of the hoop she looked over at the coffee drinking fiend ministry lady. "What's next?" Oh right, it would be her telling them they passed... RIGHT?

Salander watched patiently as his friends started out their Apparating practicals. Admittedly he held his breath for each of them as they vanished from where they stood, his eyes widening just a bit more in apprehension of them splinching a part of themselves. Indeed that would not have been such a pretty sight. Wouldnt be a great thing on the ears either.

But so far they were doing pretty well, and now the Head Boy started to feel that belated nerve. NOW he was getting queasy. He shoved his hands in his pockets and turned his attention back towards the Ministry ladies. Just how strict are they? What if he left behind a thread from his robes, would they consider that a failure?

Katherine watched carefully, as Vashti had stepped forward, with both a mixed sense of confidence and anxiousness it seemed. In some sense, she was sure she saw a mix of herself in the girl and perhaps potential for the girl for a career in the Ministry... But she kept those thoughts to herself, as she took notes.

Nodding as the girl seemed to survive, without so much side effects, she smiled. "Well done."

Looking back to the first girl to check up on her, she nodded in polite sense when the girl thanked her, but was slightly perplexed when the girl just held it. Most kids would devour the Honeyduke's chocolate like it was pumpkin juice, but this one, she was strange.

"You're ... you're not .. allergic, are you dear?" Katherine asked concerned. Because if the girl was, she was sure she had some other quick remedy for that ill feeling in her tote. Momentary illness was common though for new apparaters, Katherine knew that.



More and more students seemed to filling into the practical room and for a moment, Katherine had wondered if the Headmaster had performed a duplicating charm on some of them.

"Alright then, here's how this is going to work," Katherine addressed the lot. "Take turns, one at time, disapparating from the spot and apparating into the hoop. Wait a moment, then disapparate from the hoop, apparating to a spot outside the hoop. If you splinch, you fail. If you miss the hoop, you fail. Both circumstances are not bad things but they would require you to retake your exam by visiting the Ministry at a time convenient for you." Got it, good. First up, go.

So it was her turn next. She felt fairly confident considering the fact that she had been using the practice area and had only splinched piece of her hair,leaving the left side a little shorter than the right. All that could be fixed though so she hadn't done much by ways of fixing,especially since she wasn't completely out of the woods yet. She had the actual practical to do.

Cassie took a deep breath and went over the three Ds in her mind. Deliberation,Determination,Destination. Be deliberate in your actions Cass,of course you're determined to pass and not further mess up your hair and think of the hoop,that's all there is to it.

She stepped up to the spot and with a pop disaparated from the area and into the hoop. She was so close to the edge though..wow..such a close call. She used the few seconds they were allowed to feel her hair. It didn't see any worse. She smiled and popped from the circle to a spot next to it. Still in one piece. Practice did make perfect... well almost perfect...seconds after apparating next to the hoop her face looked like she had sucked on a lime. Ok she wanted her license and all but if this was going to happen every time she apparated,she would floo more than half the time.

She then looked at the woman.Could she leave now?

Suddenly, one of the Ministry ladies spoke up to the whole group? Oh. Okay. Everyone was just going one by one. Taking turns. Got it. Ellie waited for the Hufflepuff in front of her to go, waiting anxiously and slightly nervously. Once Cassie was done, Ellie stepped up.

Destination, determination, deliberation...

Focusing on the spot inside the hoop, Ellie took a deep breath, concentrated, and...

Pop!

Opening her eyes, Ellie saw that she was inside the hoop. She let out a little squeal of excitement and clapped her hands together before she realized that she wasn't done. And that there were people probably watching her. Right. Concentrating again on the space just outside the hoop, and...

Pop!

Ellie opened her eyes again to find herself beside the hoop. Swift accuracy, too. She quickly scanned herself and once she found that she wasn't missing any body parts, she grinned and looked back up at the Ministry lady. Fantastic.

Considering there was no convenient time for him to take this test in another time than now, then he ought to...take it, right?

Whatever the three D's had been, he completely forgot, because they were entirely changed by new words, except Destination, that was fairly obvious. Inside the hoop. Okay. So, whoever came in before him was done, which only meant he was supposed to go now. Nice.

Focus was always important to him and, at the moment, the only thing he could possibly see was that hoop over there...and he really did try to picture himself inside it, okay? He really did. HEY! Treyen remembered what the three D's were all about! But he wasn't nervous at all, was he?

*POP*

Granted, he'd closed his eyes before apparating inside the hoop...and, it wasn't until he opened his eyes that he realized he was inside it. Take that, Saylen! He could do it on his own now.

This wasn't over, no, because he had to look back and make sure not one single hair of his pretty head was left behind. The Prefect smiled widely when he noticed how nothing was in the place he'd previously been standing. His hair was perfect. Everything seemed extremely perfect in the world, except for the minor dizzy feeling...but...he had to do this again, didn't he?

Three D's, focuuuussss...

*POP*

Was he out of the hoop? Yes! He was out of the hoop!

He refrained himself from doing a little dance at the successful apparition (he did have all his pretty hair with him) mainly because he was supposed to be mature about this, right? Right. So, he only smiled, widely, again, as he tried to make that dizzy feeling go away.

Hehe. An almost perfect score on her written exam. When she wanted to, Mia could actually do very well in her classes but she had to want to. And she did want her apparition license even if apparating did freak her out at times.

She waited patiently for one of the instructors to call upon her and in the meantime she watched as her friends and fellow students completed the tasks that were set before them. This was going to be fun.
