A surly looking Mr. Stryker is seated on a bench. As you enter the gazebo, he'll motion for you to take a seat on either a pillow, beanbag, or good ol' concrete. Your choice.
Please, come in! The lesson will begin shortly (OOC: 4pm EST, 9pm GMT (I think...) tomorrow), so feel free to talk amongst yourselves.

Forced to teach this class? well this should be interesting, but it probably wont help with the whole gracefull thing. And which slytherin was it? She only knew a few. Em shook her head at the question. "I've never danced. never had a desire to." she said looking at the man.

They were starting. Good! The sooner they got this over and done with, the better!
Dance experience? Did she have dance experience? Kita tried her hardest not to giggle. The only dance experience she had was when she danced randomly in the kitchen at home. That didn't count did it?
It was just as she was wondering whether to put up her hand and share her 'dance experience' that another girl said more or less what she had wanted to say.
And it made her giggle.
But there was no point in her asking right? No. That's why she leant back in her beanbag and looked around at the others as they shared their experiences.

Jai raised his hand and said,"Well, I'm Greek so we do alot of dancing and my mom taught me Salsa. So that's all the dance experience I have." He was submerged in culture by his parents which included dance. At first he hated it until he went to Spain with his parents one summer and his mom told all about dance in that culture and the passion that went with it.

Rafe was about to say something witty and utterly charming to Kita, when Stryker began to start class.
Umm...dance experience...
Rafe hesitantly lifted his hand. "Professor, I know a little bit of hip/hop, in an offbeat kinda style...mixed with other styles of dance." Yeah, that sounded weird. "And a little bit of tango," he mumbled.
He thought the whole point of this was to learn how to dance, not be made examples of.

Kita walked into the gazebo where the dance lessons were taking place and looked around. There were quite a few people here. Was this how popular the idea of dancing was at Hogwarts?
Now... where to sit? Eeee! There were beanbags! Kita made her way towards a beanbag, passing the Professors as she did so. "Morning Mr. Stryker," Was he teaching dance? "Morning Professor Bentley! Morning, er..." What was the Healer's name? "Ms!" Was that good enough? She smiled at all three of them before continuing her walk. Reaching the beanbags, she flopped down, a small smile on her face.
It really would be politer to just not acknowledge Beth's presence if the students weren't even going to learn her name. "Brookes would be the name you're looking for."

As the Groundskeeper announced the start of the lesson, Beth put her bag down at the edge of the gazebo. She then leant against the gazebo fence. She listened to Chad ask if there were any dancers under the gazebo. She held back a snort. So he was forced into it? Poor man. He was clearly clueless... Too bad Beth wasn't going to volunteer to help. Her dancing consisted of just following the music and hoping she didn't look ridiculous. But of course, this Healer hadn't danced in a LONG time...
So, she just stayed at the side of the gazebo. Beth was just going to observe for now... And perhaps help when the actual dancing started...

He didn't want to flaunt that fact, although he had sort of been bragging to Ellie earlier about knowing how to dance.

Harlow giggled. A male dance teacher. Well this was something new and she was glad she had shown up. This was going to be something for the journal. She stood on her tip toes and raised her hand high, "I've taken ballet and tap classes a little with my sister Persia." she explained. Harlow wasn't a dancer like ber little sister, but it was fun.

Kimalia felt a little embarrassed seeing as everyone had experience in dancing but her. "Well, I do like dancing to old muggle music artists from the 2010's and before.." Kimalia added. "Nothing specific, just moving to the groove."
Thomas had absolutely no idea why he had come here.
He positioned himself on squishy bean bag towards the back corner of the gazebo and frowned, feeling more out of place than ever. His eyes moved to look at the groundskeeper as he spoke. Did anyone have experience in dance?

Did young Broadmoor LOOK like he had experience in dance? Did he look like a ponce who enjoyed wearing sequins for fun like the blokes on that TV show his ma watched routinely on a Saturday Night? Did he look like he belonged in this class at ALL?

He crossed his arms and looked around at the other kids as they spoke of what experience they had. Then he sunk lower into his bean bag, getting more and more nervous as it dawned on him how many had done this before. His Gryffindor side, whatever that was, had gone into hiding for this particular class.
"Thank you Renesme, it's great to be here. Are you looking forward to dancing?" Seren had no idea this class would be so popular, after all... there wasn't any magic involved... not ot her knowledge at least.
"Yeah I am" she said nodding her head. She noticed the Healer had also come and she waondered if there would be anymore Professors. She turned to Mr Stryker. She would have carried on talking about dancing with Professor Bentley, but just then Mr Stryker had started the lesson.

Ness laughed at Mr Stryker's introduction, but she knew he was serious. He didn't really look like a person that knew much about dancing, but luckily for him most of the students had some experience. She raised her hand before she answered trying to be polite. "I used to do alot of dancing I did Hip-hop, Ballet, Ballroom, tap, modern..I used to dance quite a lot." she blushed a little embarressed. She looked around hoping they wouldn't have to pair up soon, it would have been a little akward even if she was used to dancing with a partner this was different.
Eris looked around awkwardly, "Erm....I can waltz?" The young first year, who now that she was dressed in sweatpants and a loose shirt for the class, was almost indistinguishable from a little boy.
Coming from a family where parties were often, she learned both the traditional waltz, and rather undefinable rave-like moves. Her cousin could do a mean tango, which she had seen multiple occasions but would never try for herself. If there was one good thing that came from these parties, it was that her Aunt made the best muffins that one could eat. Eris would love nothing more than sneaking to the back of the room engulfing a few of them when she got the chance.

Cassie raised her hand..but did it matter? Like half the class could dance or well more than half." Err..I dance.."been dancing for years and in the RoR when time allowed too.." I do pretty much anything, though my strong points are salsa, ballet and hip hop." Ballroom wasn't hard either but that was far from her favourite. It's not like she could waltz her stress away.

Max's dark brown eyes widened at the large amount of students who had some sort of dance experience. Very few of them were guys, however, which was a bit encouraging. They all wore uninterested, slightly horrified expressions as well. Max couldn't do anything. He had never danced before in his life, primarily because he didn't want to risk embarrassing himself. Instead of blatantly admitting it to everyone, Max remained quiet and kept to himself. He figured they would find out how inexperienced he was soon enough. Sigh.

Jayden raised her hand again, ready to share her thoughts. "I dance because it's a good stress reliever for me,and a fabulous sort of exercise and a way to meet new people. Dance is an art in my eyes, so I suppose that is why I find it so appealing..." She answered cheerfully.
Why did she dance..? "I... I dance because I have to." she said. Well, it was true. If she didn't dance her mother would be disappointed and she would be an embarrassment at parties...

Rose laughed at this. 'The pretty dresses? Nah, just jesting, I like to dance, as it's like... Well... I like prancing around, being able to do something that doesn't make me look like an idiot! Max raised a tentative hand. "Dance is an art, I guess. It's about moving your body in such a way that is rhythmically correct and generally pleasing to the eye..." He paused, a pondering expression on his face before going on to say, "...but I think it can also be about personal expression or fun. Stress relief. That kind of stuff."

What was dance about to Maybelle? "Dance was, and still is, my way to express my emotions." She said, smiling. "For hip-hop, I was at my best being angry, for Ballet, all my focus and happiness went into that. For Jazz, it was a mix, and lyrical was my sorrow." She said, knowing she just expressed her feelings.

Rafe wasn't the best dancer, but he liked to think he had some moves.

Hmmm....This question got Nessie thinking. She raised her hand and waited her turn. "I dance becuase" she didn't really know why she danced, she just liked to it was one of her hobbies. "I...Enjoy it." she finally finished answering. "It maked you happy and makes forget about all your troubles" Now she thought she sounded rather stupid. She listened to everyone elses asnswers as she started playing with her long red hair.
She noticed that the boy she had met in Diagon Alley by the Ferrist wheel was sitting on a bean bag looking a little nervous. He didn't really look like the dance type..but you never know. She thought of going to greet him, but it was rude to do that while Mr Stryker was teaching.

Mackenzi giggled quietly. She was definietly one those people who liked to dance randomly around the house whenever she was alone. It wasn't even a particlar type of dance. It was more of jumping up and down, flipping her hair around (and let's not forget the bad singing) then actually hand movements, jumps, and spins.
So, why did she dance? She thought for a few seconds before slowly raising her hand in the air again. "Well, I dance to express, not impress. Over the past few years I've found that dance is a great way to express my feelings and get rid of some frustrations. You can tell stories through it, whether they're personal or not." She said. "And I guess it can be a great way to exercise and have fun too."

Well this shouldn't be a too hard subject. Gwen had rhythm, she could move to the music easily enough. It depended what type of dancing they were aiming for. Ballroom? Traditional? Expressional dance? The latter she could do, it wasn't too hard now was it? It was something she could see her mother doing out in the back garden. Dancing to the trees or something of the sorts.
She shuffled awkwardly at the back, near Tom, the only person apart from Aurora that she actually knew. She chose not to answer any of the questions, she was quite shy after all, and nerves often got the best of her. Plus she had no experience with dance as such herself. Best just to stay quiet.
