Harlow saw the boy that she had almost knocked out with her charm in class the other day. She hurried over to him before someone else snagged him. "Would you like to be my partner?" he was going to have to stoop down to dance with her, but at least they would both have partners.

"Yes, thanks, that would probably be a good idea - just a heads up... I have absolutely no rhythm at all", Penny chuckled as she took the ribbon and tied back her hair...

"I mean, ya I do dance and prance around at home with my little sister when we hear a cracking song on the radio - but it could never be classed as dancing"

August! Yay, it was like he had heard her thoughts!

"Sure," she said, very relieved that her partner was a boy her age. And a kinda cute one to boot. "You wouldn't happen to have a lot of dancing experience, wouldja?" she asked awkwardly.

For contrary to popular belief, not all princesses were professional ballroom dancers.

"Oh good, I'd hate to have missed out on all of Chad's knowledge." Isabelle laughed slightly, before covering her mouth with her hand. She didn't know he could dance actually. Could he? But, oh, Herbology. Lovely. "Nice to meet you, too," she smiled.

Oops. They'd been caught talking.

Isabelle suddenly felt like an actual student, her face going slightly red. And then she realised who she was. Smirking at Chad she gave him a little salute. "Sorry, sir. Won't happen again."

No sooner had she shut up than she had to...get up? Partners. Great. There were two male teachers and three female ones. Somebody was going to end up with the student short straw, weren't they? It would probably be her.

Isabelle looked across at one of those females when she spoke. She had yet to learn her name, having only exchanged a smile upon Issy's entering class. Shrugging, she rolled onto her knees and stood up, brushing herself down. "I suppose so. Although whoever ends up with me might be getting a trip to the hospital wing with a broken toe." Isabelle giggled, knowing full well it wasn't a joke.

"Well that's okay, follow my lead. I'll be the man." she said, chuckling. "Waltzing is pretty easy, you just have to pick out the beats and move your feet with every beat." she explained... not entirely clearly...

"Hey,Rose! " yelled Justin. " Where'd your friend go? I was wondering if she has a partner to dance with still. Could you ask her for me? "

Get in pairs.

Max very swiftly retreated to the side of the gazebo. Getting in pairs generally required the guy to step up and ask a girl to dance. He knew his role. But he wasn't like many other guys. He was an introvert that had zero desire to seek out a girl he didn't know to dance.

He folded his arms and lowered himself into one of the corner chairs. He looked unapproachable, to say the least, even though his face wasn't unwelcoming - Max was doing the best he could to not look completely horrified by the task before them. If a girl was so desperate for a partner that they needed to approach him, he would accept that. Her boldness would mean she would likely not mind leading in the waltz.

That didn't mean he still wasn't terrified by the idea.

Really hoping not to be shot down in front of an entire class of his peers and a few Professors, August had been hoping over and over in his head Princess would just agree and dance with him, even if she didn't want to. But thankfully she said yes, and didn't seem to mind either. Well that was good.

"Great." he grinned back at the Slytherin. She was definately a pretty girl who had probably been to quite a few dances in her time. But then she asked him a question that shook that thought from his mind. "Oh um not really, I had to take a few dancing lessons before my cousin's wedding last year but that's all really." he shrugged. "Doesn't matter though, we are going to rock this." Auggie said with a smile.

Penny nodded as Aurora explained...."Ok, but I apologise in advance if I step on your toes"....Penny laughed, because this was very possible..

"Wait.. what..you'll be the man - how does that work then?".. Penny was confused, surely everyone had the same steps.

Dance class.

João didn't know Hogwarts offered even that. But now that it did... this should be amusing. He DID know how to dance very well, thank you.

Looking around, he hadn't realised that Hogwarts also had so many girls. Now, which one should he choose?

Plan B it was then. MEH. "Alright" Sammy said happily, she didn't care. Sure she had no boyfriend and like one guy that was a friend and WASN'T EVEN HERE, but eh. Isobel had been her friend for like 2 or 3 years now, they could dance together. "I'm starting to think that the guys at this school get mysteriously captured by the giant squid" she said with a shrug, because there seemed to be ABSOLUTELY none of them. ANYWHERE.

And if the giant squid hadn't taken them, then where were they when they were needed in classes hmmmmmm? Wait a second. "Who's gonna be the guy?" she asked Isobel, because she didn't particularly want to be the guy but if Isobel didn't, she would.

'I'm sure I can! Why, do you like her?' Rose waggled her eyebrows. 'FAVEN! Got you a partner!' she yelled.

Beth looked at the woman for a moment. Was she amongst the people that didn't know who Beth was?! Oh the horror. "Well... There'd be no use sending them up to the Hospital wing if the Healer's sat in the gazebo, too." She commened, with a grin. Ambiguous enough? Pushing herself away from the side of the gazebo, Beth walked to stand next to the professor. She'd not yet made the connection that there were uneven numbers of male to female professors...

Maybelle heard the word "partners" and automatically wished Jake was there. She would only dance with Jake, that's all. She looked around, wishing he'd suddenly appear. She just stood awkwardly, looking around for at least someone to dance with.

Louisa rolled her eyes. Were they really picking partners? How was she supposed to pick a boy and just... dance with? That was so not her. Then she spotted 'them'. The least favorite students of all time in Louisa's history- they were smiling and apparently going to dance togethre. FIIINNE. The fourth year looked around quickly and thanked Merlin for Joao!

"JWAW!" Almost a yell. Louisa walked over to the boy, "Hi. Do you have a partner yet?" Please say no, please say no... he wasn't standing with a girl, though. That might be a good hint. HA! Now she was going to dance with a boy and show those undesirable couple that she was not mourning over them anymore. small lie over here.

" I don't know. I just want a partner for now. Thank you very much." Justin said under his breath, but just loud enough so that Rose could hear him.To tell the truth felt his face turn a pale pink; he was nervous. He'd never danced with a girl before. Just his mum.

"No problem, it's dead easy, honest." well, it was the easiest of all the ballroom dances...

"It means I'll lead, don't worry, I'll explain it as we go along." And she would, because she liked to teach people stuff... it made her feel powerful...

Vashti had kept silent during the rest of the questions since she really knew nothing about dance. Nothing at all. It was the one area she avoided studying or looking up because, well, there's never been a class for it before now and she never planned on dancing so why bother?

But now they needed to get a partner to dance with and all she wanted to do was hide in a corner somewhere. If she danced with someone she'd more than likely just stomp on their feet - accidentally of course - and she didn't want to subject anyone to that. Still, she glanced at Anakin, eyed Will Fullmer, and looked around at all the other students partnering up...

Could she please have a corner to hide in?

'Ooh! Do you like her!? I was joking! Your face though! It went pink! YOU BLUSHED!' Rose giggled madly.

"Oh!!!!!!!!! Hi I'm sorry! I was spacing out...HEAVILY!" Faven said apologetically. "Yay a partner!!!!"

Partners! Alice looked down and hoped she wouldn't have to have one.

'Ah! Faven, Justin, Justin, Faven!' Rose smiled as she stepped back and let the two meet.

Partner up? Adelyn bit her lip; no, she was shy or whatever with boys, but she didn't know many here. She was a fifth year, and barely had any friends in the wizarding world. She tucked a loose curl behind her ear, glancing around the room for someone without a partner.

João nearly jumped when someone YELLED his name's unique pronunciation performed by only Louisa. He smiled vastly. She wanted to be his partner... although meeting someone new could have been fun, he would be more than pleased. He would enjoy that closeness. Hehe.

"I don't," he said, scanning the room for a moment for the sign of Fee before he looked back at her. Offering one hand with a gentleman's smile, he said "Would you be my partner, senhorita?"

" Rose, You're too much sometimes." Justin said as he laughed along with her. " Who's this bloke? " asked Justin as he motioned towards the guy standing next to her.
