When Mickey saw Prof. Bently she cringed ever so slightly. "Hello, Proffesor Bently," Mickey said with a nervous smile. "I'm sorry for speaking out a' term in class the other day." |
Hehehe. In all honesty, Beth was extremely amused at the fact that Hogwarts was giving dance lessons to its students. Surely this decision wasn't one of Headmaster Tate's. However, Brookes wasn't going to miss this for the world. Heels charmed so they wouldn't sink into the muddy grounds of Hogwarts, the veeeery short Healer made her way towards the Gazebo. She had a bag slung over her shoulder, which contained lots of different medical supplies, just in case a student managed to sprain an ankle while dancing. Better to be prepared, Beth always said! Plus, it gave her a reasonable excuse to be there, should the Groundskeeper ask. Seeing that there were already a lot of students waiting for the dance class to start, Beth grinned. The idea seemed to be going down well with the students, then... |
Ariella happily entered the Gazebo, extremely interested in this 'dance' class. She was a dancer at home, but wasn't really sure of what this strange new class would entail. "Hello, Professor!" she said to the teacher with a smile. She didn't really know why they were having their class in the Gazebo, but she shrugged it off, reaching into her bag to make sure she had remembered to bring her dance shoes. |
Dance class...and the gazebo.... Eris glanced around as she made her way up to the classroom, wondering how advanced material they would be teaching. Of course she could dance, I mean...all it meant was moving your arms up and down to the beat and twirling or something, right? Somehow, she knew it was more than that. "Good morning!" The little boy-girl of a witch greeted the professor, running a hand through her short black hair as she spoke. |

"You looking forward to the lesson? I'm not much of a dancer, so I think this will be quite beneficial." Quote:
"Couldn't miss an opportunity like this," she commented enthusiastically. |

It was just odd... "I'm kinda nervous, to be honest..." Yes, she'd taken some ballroom...but that had been YEARS ago. |
A dance lesson is best to free Erin's mind of all the magic here in Hogwarts. She would love to join it and probably meet some new friends. She'd enrolled jazz lessons in a Muggle dance studio before and she missed dancing too. She eyed all the other participants and there were students and professors alike. She chuckled to herself. This is new. Erin took the pillow seat and make herself comfortable. She saw Professor Bentley and decided to say hello, "Hey professor! Nice to see you here." |

"Likewise!" Beth grinned. Eyeing the groundskeeper, Beth raised an eyebrow. He didn't seem like the dancing type... Why did he get landed with this job? |

"Are you feeling better..since you know..?" Since wolf boy decided to be a total jerk face. "And look who I manged to capture.." She poked Josh." See apparently he dances too." |
Destiny had no idea what she was doing walking down to the dancing lessons. She was already a FANTASTIC dancer. Had no one, but Mia, seen her on the dance floor during that costume ball thing? She pulled off the chicken dance superbly. And it had nothing to do with the fact that she had, once upon a time, been a chicken. She was dressed up as Shamrock Holmes that day. Nevertheless, she arrived at the gazebo and couldn't help but grin as she made her way over to her dance partner extraordinaire, Mia and Evelyn. "Hello, Mr. Groundskeeper sir." Eek! There were other adult people there, too. "Professor Bentley.. and woman I don't know."Although.. that woman could have just been a really OLD student. Ehh. Giving all the She should have been teaching this lesson. |
Mia and Destiny ^_^ LEARN to dance? "I already know how to dance." she said, frowning slightly as she continued to STARE at Mia. She was just hoping Josh would show up, and perhaps they could be partners if that's where they were going with this whole dance lesson thing. "Besides, who can pass this up?" Yet just as she finished her rhetorical question, she spotted the handsome Gryffindor himself! Who...who was tugged down to sit somewhere NOT near her. Who in Merlin's beard was THAT girl!? She was one of those girls in Defense class, but Evelyn couldn't quite remember her name. "Hey Destiny..." she muttered to the Slytherin who sat down near them, clearly distracted. |
It was as if almost without meaning to Theo and Ivory's plan was already semi in the works-because of course you couldn't have a dance off without knowing how to dance, and Ivory wasn't really sure she could to be honest. She had gone to the various functions in the past few terms, balls and banquets and whatnot, where dancing was required and well she'd done fine but she certainly didn't know the theory behind it. Which was why the female prefect found herself strolling through the grounds headed towards the gazebo. With a friendly smile to everyone already there, the brunette gave a wave to the surly professor seated on the bench. "Hey Mr. Stryker. Excellent addition to grounds. Perfect for dancing, I'm sure." Corner of her lips lifting, the dimple in her right cheek peeking, Ivory took a beanbag beside the Herbology Professor. "Hey Professor Bentley. Here to learn some moves too?" Sinking into beanbag, she curled her legs under her easily eyes scanning the group of students there to pinpoint any participating Ravenclaws. |
Minerva walked into the dance class excited. Now this is something she knew. She loved dancing back home feeling more comfortable Minerva walked in with her head up instead of to the floor nervous like all her other classes. She wondered if there would be many boys here then she wondered if she could get Harvey to class. "Hello Professor" Minerva said as she walked into the class. |

With a tap to her nose, she leaned back. "You just gotta know a little bit, like it, and have a good talking voice to teach. You, have all three." Lucky lucky boy. Quote:
Once she was all settled, she straightened her spine a little and extended her hand to him. "Charner Hope Rainbow." A slight frown tickled the sides of her mouth. "But you can just call me Arnie....Or Yo!-Girl." Didn't much matter to her. "And I won't laugh. A promise is a promise and a deal is a deal. I'd only break it if you were one of my brothers." Which thank Merlin's unwashed beard he wasn't. One finger reached out and poked the boy in the side. "It's not polite to assume people will do things when they say they won't." She wasn't the greatest on manners, but that she knew. "Plus, I'm sure you're not SO bad that you could make me break our deal." She tapped her lip in thought. "If you do, or are, and I do laugh, I'll buy you a new beanie-bag." Heh. Was she putting up a challenge? Maybe. With a grin, she dropped her hands into her lap and tilted her head at the boy. "And I don't know how to dance either. Just know about it. My brother has declared that I am impossible of absorbing any type of etiquette into my being. So I figured this is a good way to prove him wrong." |
Annabeth walked in, "Good morning Professor," she said, she was at this class because although she could dance, she was not amazing at it, she found it odd that there was a dance class at a magical school, she smiled at the prospect of seeing Harvey dance, that might be funny! She took a seat and began to mess with her hair, reeady to do anything that she was asked to do, even if it was doing things that made her look stupid. |

Ugh...why did he even bother coming to this? Oh that's right, because he'd have to sooner or later. It was custom to learn formal dances in his society. This certainly would make his mum proud. He only knew more hip/hop dances, but the dance classes wasn't specified, so maybe he'd find himself in his element. But, where to sit? And then he saw her... Should he risk another slap? Hmm...There were enough professors around, so it seemed so surely she wouldn't make a scene. Rafe marched right on over and plopped on the other side of Marilyn without a word. |
Dance Theory? They had a class called Dance Theory? Why was the school teaching them how to dance? Her parents had been thrilled when they had heard about a dancing class at Hogwarts. 'About time,' wrote her father in her last owl from him, that she had received earlier that morning. Merlin, this would be interesting. The blonde Malfoy enjoyed dancing but she wasn't exactly the best dancer in the whole world due to being a little clumsy. The Slytherin walked over towards the growing group of students and Professors. "Good Morning Professor Stryker," she said to the man and then turned around to face one of her other Professors who seemed to be here. "Hello Professor Bentley! How are you?" she asked with a smile. Emma looked around the crowd, searching for a familiar face and she found Nikolas there. She assumed that she could hang out with him. So then she made her way over to him and took a seat next to him. "Hey! What's up?" she said, with a wide smile and then saw another boy who looked about her age sitting by him. "Hi. I'm Emma." |
Jai was rather interested in this lesson. The boy was Greek and had this in his blood. He entered the gazebo and opted for a bean bag chair. He looked around and saw Cassie, Marilyn, Rafe and Josh. 'This is gonna be either, really good or really bad but definitely very interesting.' he thought to himself as he also saw teachers other than Professor Stryker. |

Looking around the gazebo for anyone he might know, or for someone who looked like a potential friend, Shannon spotted Daphne sitting in a beanbag. He walked over to her and sat down on the concrete beside her. "Hey Daphne." He greeted her, he did however give her a smile despite not wanting to be there. |

She waved at him and offered a smile, "Good afternoon." she called over. Was she supposed to call him sir? Mister? Professor? She had no idea, so she stuck with good afternoon and left it at that. |

The girl turned to find Shannon sit next to her. Great. Now, she wasn't feeling completely alone. "Hey Shannon." She gave him a smile. "So, excited for the lesson?" |
Stryker, Bentley, and Healer lady :) After seeing the notice about dance classes, Emmaleigh had thought long and hard about it. It certainly wasn't something she was required to go to, and was something she really didn't want to go to. But should she go to the class? Eventually, she had come around to the idea that the class might do her some good. Not like she was intending to dance, but she hoped it might make her a little more graceful, and less clumsy. Making her way to the gazebo, Em paused a moment when it was in sight. There was still time to leave. No, she had to go to the class, it would be good for her. "Don't panic, don't panic," she thought to herself as she finished the journey to the gazebo. Giving a strained smile, she greeted the groundskeeper, "Greetings, Mr. Stryker." Turning to find a seat, she saw Professor Bentley and the new Healer lady. "Hello, Professor Bentley, and," er "Ma'am," she added awkwardly. |
