But then she couldn't help but overhear a familiar voice say her name. Was that Lockhart?! Temporarily unfocused, Seren turned her head to see if she was right. In her haste she somehow managed to knock her knee into Chad's leg and step on his foot... whoops. "I'm so sorry!" she gaspd with surprise. Turning back to Lockhart she shook her head at him. "Now look what you made me do." Yes Treyen Lockhart it is all your fault. "And whats this about me knowing how to dance? If I knew then I wouldn't be here." No... she needed these lessons. Otherwise she wouldn't be here. End of story. |
Text Cut: Treyen Seriously? He should be ALMOST fluent? As in he was close to being fluent already? How was she unaware he spoke an entirely different language? "You speak French?" Wow. That was... You would think something like that would have come up in conversation before, right? No, apparently not. Yes, Treyen was still taller. "But for how long?" If only you could plan when you grew. Because, while she just said that, she had no idea if she'd get any taller. And even then, if it would be enough to pass him. "Being shorter than you is not all that bad, though." She supposed. She kind of liked it at times, even. Hehe. "You are the monsieur." Therefore, she would let him lead. Unless roles were ever switched for some odd, abnormal reason. And lookit, she spoke more French to him. Heh. Bentley...Ellie HAD to tear her eyes from the Prefect to see what he was talking about. Stryker did seem a lot more stiff than Bentley did. Ellie opened her mouth to answer but... Text Cut: Bentley the Bungler ...But then Bentley was tripping over her partner. Ellie kept herself from laughing too hard, but couldn't help giggling just a teeny tiny lot. "...I don't think so. Not after that." And then Bentley was talking to him. And the Ravenclaw laughed more. "Gosh, Treyen!" she sarcastically reprimanded, nudging his arm a bit. That was boring, though. She wouldn't come just for fun? As long as it wasn't conflicting with the feeding times of her precious, perilous plants? |

"Oh...haha. my bad." Indiana giggled as she placed her hand in the correct positon on Kourt's right arm. She nodded as her friend explained to her. She kind of got it. Hmm. "Can...you explain again?" Indiana asked, kind not getting it the idea the first time round. |

He only grinned when she said they weren't dancing yet. "But we are, Miss Di Marco," he said, carefully moving his foot so not to alarm her. ".. Just a bit slowly, but we are," he added, resisting the urge to ditch technique and make her dance until she was in fits of giggles. Orlando would prefer if she would step on his toes and be silly and just like dancing. No need to make it a burden on herself, yep! |

"Oh, most definetly." She said with a laugh and a teasing wink. "You really think so? I'm not used to dancing ballroom or anything like that. I mean I've danced with a partner like this for a cousin's wedding, but nothing serious." She said unsure of herself. "I'm way more comfortable dancing hip hop or something." |
I fell asleep last night xD Quote:

She giggled, "A debutant ball is where all the ladies are introduced to society. Meaning they are women now and eligible for offers of marriage. Though no one gets married that young anymore. But thats traditionally what the ball was for." she explained. She would be a guest of honor at the ball in a few years. Harlow started to blush at his question, "Well because when you have dates you have to kiss and hold hands and stuff," she whispered to make sure no one could hear her but Kennedy. Harlow waltzed them around the room again as they talked. This was really fun and it was relaxing, "Its a ball for all the people who have been awarded the order of merlin this year. My cousin Paris won this award this year so that's why we are going." she was excited to be going. One of her favorite Herbologist was going to be there and she was looking forward to getting an autograph. |
*sighs in relief* I thought I lost it... Quote:

ooc:Time difference problem. I'm playing catch up now. Alyssa looked around her as all her friends danced with their partners. She felt like a wallflower. She had known all the answers to the questions Mr. Stryker had asked them, like she did have some dance experience, if dancing with her family counted, and that she liked the Latin Samba and the Viennese Waltz. She loved to dance because it made her happy. She was able to express herself better in dance than any other way. If she was angry her movements were more aggressive but at the same time, it helped to "burn off" the anger. As for the types of ballroom dancing there were so many but one example was the Minuet which was first introduced into ballroom dancing in 1650. She also knew the answer to the question "What is a waltz" Actually there were different variations of the waltz depending on the culture. The waltz usually comprises of a couples who do not pass, but turn continuously left and right while travelling counterclockwise around the floor following each other. Their bodies are never apart. "Yes", Alyssa thought to herself. She knew all the answers, but every time she was about to raise her hand to answer, others would do so and give their answer and the Professor would move on to the next and the next. And so she was not of going to be able to earn any points for her house which made her very sad. Alyssa loved dancing and danced all the time with her dad and sometimes her brothers....when they were forced to dance with her. She even danced by herself just because she liked the feeling of dancing. Most of the time, when she danced, she would use her current emotions and express them in the dance she was dancing. Dancing relaxed her and helped removed stress. Dancing made her laugh when she was feeling sad. When she danced she felt like she was in her own world. Sometimes she didn't have music to accompany her and so she would hum a song when she danced. She loved the waltz because it was not only elegant but when people danced the waltz, it seemed to her like they just floated through the dance floor. She especially loved it when the played the Blue Danube by Johann Strauss. That was her favorite waltz tune. She had tried the swing a couple of times and found it invigorating. But now in this class, she felt alone. She didn't even have a partner to dance with. Alyssa slowly moved to the back of the class trying to hide herself so that no one would notice that she was there. She would leave the class but she didn't want her house getting penalized for her rudeness. Maybe she could volunteer to play the piano for the class seeing that she wouldn't be getting the opportunity to dance with a partner. |

He might not have noticed her movement had first had he not registered the smaller angle he looked down to look into her face. It was then the older Gryfindor saw that Selina had moved closer to him, whether subconsciously or on purpose he couldn't be sure. "Well then....I'...I best be glad ye...decided on me," he managed to remark getting his voice back, catching her soft tone as they very nearly stopped. |

'Are you partnerless?' she asked Alyssa, bounding in front of her as she made for the door. 'You can come in a three.' she smiled. 'With me, and Rose.' She was in a three until she found me. We'll be allowed' she smiled. |

SPOILER!!: Louisa & João India nodded a short swift nod when João brought up dancing with Louisa. She wouldn't mind after all she WAS stealing Louisa's dance partner. And not onpurpose. "Of course - you should dance with Louisa she shouldn't be bored." Or jealous and upset but India thought best of people. And maybe when she told her Hey don't feel jealous about me - I'm nothing to be jealous about! Even if she was something to be jealous about. Still she danced swiftly, left foot forward - right food back. |

"I'll lead...and your job is basically to enjoy yourself." Which was of course, the truth with most dancing. Taking a few steps back they were with the rest of the dancers on the dance floor, swirling about. Then again, Eris didn't want to insult this girl's intelligence on dancing, so she was quick to add, "Have you waltzed before?" |

After a few minutes of waltzing round the floor, Alyssa was back to smiling and would have danced all night...."just like the song" before she remembered that Rose was still dancing with a broom. "Here Rose, I'll let you take your turn now. Hopefully Daisy's toes aren't broken by now. I think that I may have accidentally trod on them at least once." Alyssa stepped and happily watched as Rose and Daisy danced off. |

After she made her comment to him she wondered why Gideon was taking so long to reply to her. Finally he seemed to find his voice and he stuttered a little bit. Was it something she said? She didn't think she said anything so offensive so was just trying to pay him a compliment. Without even noticing it Selina stopped dancing. She looked up at him, her hand still in his and her arm resting on his, "Are you alright?" |

"We should end," he whispered again so that only she could hear. And, indicating a turn--she would get it, right?!--he tried to end artistically and bowed to her in a noble way. "Thank you, Senhorita Johanson for this dance." He had enjoyed it, and hoped she did too. Quote:
And he indeed had noticed that fake smile and jealous attitude, which made him pretty pleased on the inside. |
Text Cut: India & João Between João and India, undesirable couple and the two professors who seemed to be dancing well Louisa had grown extremely bored - and a mix of other feelings as well. She had kept her folded arms, trying to absorb each move into her head so she wouldn't embarrass herself in front of; the girl that was prettier than her, her previous crush, the girlfriend's of her previous crush. Not to mention the boy she wanted to impress. ...aaand they were done. Louisa's nervousness rose to the surface drowning every other emotion. João turned to face her and extended his hand, with a bow. Did he have to be so formal and elegant? Formal was good but elegance was... not Louisa-ish. She took his hand, surprised at how quickly hers got sweaty, and moved forward to stand in India's place - whether the girl moved aside or not. The smile wasn't achievable with all the emotions so she kept her face straight, she wasn't frowning at least. Anyways. The instructions were to put one hand on his arm, Louisa brought her right arm to the right place, and the other one holding his hand, she was doing it already. Her elbow still stuck to her side in its original place. Then...what? |

Text Cut: Louisa Taking her hand, João placed his other on her upper back and smiled at her again as if comforting her. When she was settled too, he looked into her eyes and started moving to the rhtythm of the music; left leg to forward, right leg to side, right leg to backwards... in the meantime, he was careful not to let his excitement be noticed. Yeah, he was excited for being this close and actually dancing with Louisa for the first time. |

"I actually didnt know there was a dance class, I actually didnt know anything since I am muggleborn. But I am enjoying this class and other classes. Actually I am enjoying the whole magical experience. " Harvey said, Elsie was a good dancer. This class was quite fun. :claw: |

Why was he looking at her so confidently and.. charmingly? That made her blood rush through her veins faster - if that was possible. She averted her eyes to the ground once he suddenly took a step forward causing her to stagger to the back by both legs, then he - so casually - stepped to the side, whao whaaaaaaooo! Louisa had moved her hand to grab his shoulder for balance and stopped in place. She couldn't help but smile sheepishly, "Easy, okay? I've never.. waltzed before." There goes the big news that was supposed to be secret - at least in front of a good dancer like India. Taking a deep breath, she readjusted herself. Putting a hand on his arm, catching the other one and bringing her elbow slightly away from her side. She fixated her eyes at their feet ready to detect his moves. The others didn't seem to stare at the ground like she did, though. Was there a secret to this that she was oblivious of? |
