Finally two familiar faces. Both boys and both from Slytherin. Jonathan was beginning to think that guys won't show up and he'd be embarrass and then he'll leave. Not anymore though.

So what is up with the dance lessons? Lord Borr's orders perhaps? Something that they should accomplish before graduating at Hogwarts? What?! It could be anything at all. Jonathan was curious enough to why they'll be having one in the first place. Is it one of those partner stuffs kind of dance. A guy comes up to a girl and then asks her to dance with him in a slow music.

"So what do you think is this dance class all about?" he asked the two as he looked at the girls. Most of them were Slytherin and he seemed to know the Gryffindor girl. Selina right? Kurumi's best friend? They went looking for her at the maze carnival last time.

Really, she wouldn't have been making counts if she hadn't made a challenge with her brother that she could learn some mannerisms of a lady this year. Dancing, seemed to be a good way to win that challenge.

With a glance about, she fiddled with the laces of her runners that were tied and dangling from her fingers. Bare feet squished on the floor of the gazebo as she contemplated a place to sit. One boy seemed to have it right. Bean bags all the way.

With a small sigh, Charner moved over to the space beside the boy and flopped down on her bottom. "Yo." Lady mannerisms. She had them. "Good seat choice." Same with fantastic conversation starters. "You here by choice?"

Nikolas took a deep breath and started to think this was a bad idea. Very bad, bad idea. He shouldn't had come in the first place, just look around! Only girls! and he didn't mind being around them, but it was just...awkward in this specific class. Anyways, if he didn't liked the class he would never come back, that's for sure. Something caught his attention and turned his head to see a guy, a Slytherin guy and Matt, whom he already had met.

"Well, about dancing?" he said like it was the most obvious answer. "And to teach the different types of dancing and all that stuff" Nikolas answered. "Nikolas" he introduced to the boy and then looked at Matt "What's up, mate?". Before he could go on, another voice caught his attention, a girl had just seated beside him. "Yo?" He hadn't that expression from a girl before. "Yo!" he replied and smiled. "Oh yes, very comfortable" he said as he let one hand plopped in the comfy chair. Here by choice? "You could say so" he shrugged "Not good at dancing, so I'll be the laughingstock today"

Zhenya had come across the Dance Lessons. She had never heard of Dance Lessons, before. Nonetheless she entered the Gazebo and did a quick scan of the crowd. Nobody she could recognise.

Oh well, she thought.

She took a seat on a cushion on the ground an waited for the lesson to start, or for some other friends of hers to come.

FLAIL.

Ellie was so excited. It took all of her energy and self control to hide how excited she was. As she entered the gazebo, however she noticed how... discontent Stryker looked. And a couple other students wore the same expression. Internally frowning, Ellie found a beanbag and plopped down, wondering when Dallin would show up. At least he was excited, too.

"dancing is fun" Okay, he didn't just admit that, especially in front of the girl. True, Jonathan did find it fun. His uncles used to teach him to dance whenever his father was not around and they were baby sitting him. Speaking of which, they should all go and have kids themselves. One uncle is enough but unfortunately for him, he has been spoiled by 3 uncles. Can be quite annoying sometimes, really.

Oh....dancing was fun, was it? So, he did know what different types were. She could feel her face reddening a little from speaking so silly. "I promise I won't laugh at you today."

Blink.

They're going to learn different types of dancing? Really?! What in Merlin's name is that all about. Jonathan can dance but he certainly is not an expert. Not even close. Sure he has went to those fancy parties, which he doesn't even dance anyway. As a kid, who would like that anyway?! "they're not going to teach us all about that?" no. He hopes not. That would just be really hard.

Sigh.

Well, if that's how it is then maybe Jonathan should just deal with it. Besides, his one of the guys who came in early. "Jonathan" he introduced himself to Nikolas. He doesn't seem to know him or the other Slytherin guy but he does see them a lot around.

Yes. He knows what are the types of dances. he's just afraid that they might be doing something really difficult. Which would really suck. And Jonathan laughed lightly when she suggested he'd teach. "I'm not an expert" he shook his head to the girl. Not at all.

Curious that Hogwarts was actually having dance classes, Michelle went around the place anyway to have a look. Reaching the gazebo, she saw some familiar faces, and some newer ones. Looking for a bean bag to plop down to, she was curious what these students were expecting from a dance class with the COMC teacher..

She excitedly made her way to the gazebo (what an awesome place to have class!) and found a beanbag to sit on. "This is comfy!" she thought to herself, settling down and searching for any of her mates, or someone to talk to. Someone to get to know.

As she sat there, she began twisting her finger around her long bright orange hair....feeling a tad bit lonely. She sighed and still twirled her hair, until it was all the way around her finger. She looked at it and sighed. Man was she bored.

"Hey there! Mind if I sit here?"

Looking around she saw a fellow Slytherin, and waved at Zhenya, the friend from Russia :)

Okay. No one better EVER tell that Regulus showed up to such a class. All the Slytherins better be thanking him at some point because he was going to learn to dance. He walked into the gazebo, heading straight to the side just in case he needed to escape. Dare someone to call him twinkle toes and he would hex them from here to China and back again...maybe this was a bad idea...

Yes. He knows what are the types of dances. he's just afraid that they might be doing something really difficult. Which would really suck. And Jonathan laughed lightly when she suggested he'd teach. "I'm not an expert" he shook his head to the girl. Not at all.

Nikolas only expected there was nothing too hard to do, because he would fail and very hard. Oh, now he had a new nickname? Bean-bag-boy. Niiiice. "Now that's my name? Bean bag boy?" he chuckled. Nikolas listened the two of them talking, and the girl explaining Jonathan about dancing. She seemed to really know what she was talking about. He knew a couple of them, but he couldn't dance that was the issue!

The girl returned the smile and he listened what she was saying. "What else can I do anyways? I'm bad at dancing" he shook his head "And you..." he started "You seemed to really know about dancing". Definitely, he was gonna be the laughingstock today. Your logic is sound as your seat choice? That was funny. Nikolas slightly chuckled and then she asked if there was room on his couch. Umm, yes but he wanted the space for him. Now, he couldn't be rude to a girl, right? Nope, it was unacceptable. "If you really promise not to laugh at my lack of dancing" he eyed her. "I know you'll do it anyways" he shrugged. He scooted a bit so she could sit down.

Oh and after all this what was her name? "What's your name Yo! girl?" he asked. That was gonna be her nickname...Yo girl.

samthehpfreak 09-10-2011 06:07 AM

Sammy at dance lessons? This wasn't going to end well. But the last time there had been dance lessons, she had attended and didn't learn a thing then looked like a total fool at the ball, but more than anything she didn't want to study or any of that nonsense and this seemed the only legitimate excuse to avoid all of that so here she was. Dance lessons. But first of all; seating. Sammy saw beanbags, SHE MUST SIT ON ONE :whaa:

She was quick to flop down on one and look around the room. She only saw two professors there, Mr. Stryker and Professor Bently. Well that could be interesting. She hoped someone she knew would turn up, so she wouldn't be left loner like the last time there was dance lessons and she was in her first year. That would be horrible, but she was a MATURE fifth year now, she'd get a partner. Definitely.

Canoir Greengrass 09-10-2011 06:13 AM

Dance class?

Freya wondered why Hogwarts suddenly hold a dance class. Are they going to have another ball this term?

"Hello, sir." she greeted him then she saw Professor Bentley. "Hello Professor Bentley." Why is the herbology Professor doing here? Maybe she was going to help Mr. Stryker in this dance class.

Cedric 09-10-2011 06:17 AM

Dance lessons, huh? At Hogwarts? Well, this was not something that Paulie had expected, but it seemed like it could be fun. He walked into the gazebo already knowing, however, that he had two left feet.

But this little fact could not dishearten the fifth year too much 'cause surely there were other students in the same boat. Unless dancing class was a requirement here... then he'd be far behind the rest of them.

He gave a nod hello to the groundskeeper, then remembered that it was he who made up that horrible swim cap rule at the waterfall. Eugh. How cruel of him, attacking the 'vain' Hogwarts teenagers like that. Then he noticed that a lone professor had decided to show up as well. "Professor," he greeted, giving her a hello as well before plopping down onto a bean bag. Oh, bean bags. Weren't those big way back in the 1990's? "So, Mr. Stryker," Paulie said, remembering the groundskeeper's name from the start of term feast, "I guess your date is Professor Bentley, huh?" He asked casually.

So he assumed, at least. He squished around in the bean bag a bit more as he tried to find a position that would not cause his butt to get that pins and needles sensation. He really hated that.

This would be fun with her there, just because she was so, well, not serious like some of the other professors. Not that she thought it wouldn't be fun anyhow. Dance was always fun. It was kind of like theater after all.

Although, it seemed not everyone was exc ited about the prospect of a lesson, and she glnced over at the groundskeeper by the Herbology professor in interest. Especially as she heard him speak French, and she smiled again. "Bonjour, Monsieur Stryker. Je suis sûr que ce ne sera pas si mal," she said, kind of happy to know there was someone in a staff position that knew French.

Dancing? Are you kidding me?, the second year thought. If there is something she wasn't good at (besides singing), that had to be dancing. However, she kind of liked the idea of a dancing class. Hmm...for the ones who like it, this should be fun, the girl told herself, trying desperatley not to roll her eyes. I am so going to look like a total idiot today!, she thought.

'Hello, Professor', she greeted when entering that wich was supposed to be a class. Looking around, she quickly found a seat and waited patiently for the class to start.

Dance class? What on Earth? Thought Daisy, walking into the class. Since when had Hogwarts taught dance, and more importantly, why was Daisy attending the class. She looked around. The majority of people were, obviously, girls. But there were some boys too. Was she going to have to dance with random people she didn't know? Daisy didn't mind a challenge, but that would really chuck her in the deep end.
Shrugging she sat down, next to a first year girl who was in Slytherin. Daisy wasn't too fond of some Slytherins, but first-years were ok, and the class was not busy yet; a friend would probably come in soon.
'Hi,' she smiled at the girl. 'This seat taken?'

It seemed as though everyone was deciding to come to this lesson which needless to say had surprised Matt since he didn't think this many people were interested in learning how to dance at least, but he wasn't about to go off and spread this theory on how this was all some kind of setup by the Ministry since the more he said it; the more it sounded stupid to him. As he continued being distracted by his own strange thoughts, he noticed Stella taking a seat beside him; well maybe this wasn't going to be all bad. "Hey, I thought I'd see you here. So, what do you think is the whole purpose of this?" Obviously he was curious about what she thought about it otherwise he would not have asked in the first place, but it appeared that yet again; his thoughts were so conflicting that they stopped him from being able to make comments that weren't necessarily the most brilliant thing ever. Well now you definitely can't make a fool of yourself.

emmafan123 09-10-2011 07:15 AM

Alfie Port walked into class with a mixture of hesitance and vague amusement on her delicate expression; dance class? Since when was Hogwarts offering a dance class? And look at the turn out! For the most part, the little blonde Ravenclaw had attended not only to make sure she went to all of her classes, but also out of curiosity. "Hello Professor," she greeted politely as she entered. Glancing around, she was surprised with the amount of students present; for whatever reason, she had assumed that there would be quite a few students not willing to dance in front of others. And honestly, she couldn't blame them. It wasn't as though she herself was a professional dancer or anything of the sort, so she couldn't help but hope that the class wouldn't be too embarrassing for herself and the other students.

She was also a bit nervous about the issue of potential partnering up. What if they had to participate in some kind of couple dance? The only person that could ever possibly make that fun for her and not incredibly awkward would be Theo, and she wasn't entirely sure if he was planning on going to today's dance lesson. Again, she couldn't blame him. But she was still hopeful as she gently plopped down onto one of the bean bags, her large blue eyes scanning the many people that had gathered for the class.

Stella didn't really want to get in trouble for talking too much at a lesson, but then, she wasn't sure if this was in fact a real lesson or, like, extracurricular. Professor Bentley wasn't technically the teacher, after all, as per the announcement. She wasn't sure how the groundskeeper would react to conversations, but in the same respect, she wasn't about to completely ignore Matt. Not when it was a direct question. Of course, she wasn't entirely sure where said question had come from, but then, there had to be a reason for it. "Um, thank you? I had to come," she said with a grin, before shrugging slightly. "The purpose? There has to be something other than just the fun of dance lessons behind this?," she asked, completely nonplussed that there needed to be a purpose. Maybe they were going to have a dance or something, and the headmaster or someone wanted to make sure they wouldn't all dance like crazy people. Not that she danced like a crazy person, of course.

Elise twirled into the room, humming to herself. She had found out about this lesson from the Ravenclaw notice board. After digging out her ballet shoes from her bag, she ran to the gazebo as fast as she could while spinning.

"Hello, Mr. Stryker!" she sing-songed, she world spinning out of focus a little.

Turning around, she saw professor Bentley. Her favorite professor!

"Morning, Professor Bentley! Joining us today?" Ellie grinned.

Seating herself in a comfy beanbag, she waited for her best friend, Gaby to arrive.

waiwaiwaiwaiwaiwaiWHAT.

Dancing lessons? REALLY? Ugh. Fee'd better be here too.

Hugo stepped into the Gazebo with a bit of a frown on his face. He didn't know why they were wasting study time for dancing class. "Good day, Mr. Stryker," he said as he looked at the man who was going to give him... Dancing lessons. Awkward smile.

And there was professor Bentley too. Maybe she was going to give dancing lessons too? "Hello, professor Bently," he said. Another awkward smile and he took a seat.

Theodore Dumble, comfortable clothes and trainers on, ambled over to his next lesson as wary as ever. Yes, talking to Ivory about having a dance-off on the grounds to rally their house together had been a great idea, and he was all for it. But as for taking a dancing class himself? No. No, no, no. Professors must have been feeling quite sadistic when making lesson plans for this term, particularly Stryker. What had the seventh year done to ever deserve such a thing? Being a prefect, which had increased his visibility around the school, would only harm him if he danced like an idiot.

It was only upon entering the area and spotting his one and only that his spirits were lifted. Scrambling over to Alfie, Theo aimed a quick kiss and planted it onto her cheek before plopping down beside her. "This will definitely be interesting, love," He mused, scanning the faces of students both familiar and unfamiliar. What dances were they going to do? The samba, the salsa, the shuffle?! Maybe a wizarding dance that Theo had never heard of?

Just as the little blonde Ravenclaw was scanning the area, her large blue eyes caught sight of just the familiar face she had wanted to see. Alfie seemed to just barely catch sight of Theo entering the gazebo before he was already at her side, planting a kiss onto her cheek. The gesture got a beaming smile to light up her expression and she couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle as he commented about how interesting the lesson was bound to be. "There's no doubt about that," she agreed with an amused smile, turning to look at him with obvious gratefulness in her expression.

"I'm glad you're here though," Alfie confessed with a soft smile, honesty in her features. But she really didn't want to dance with someone she didn't know. It would just be too awkward, especially since she wasn't that good with dancing in the first place. "But I feel obligated to inform you that I'm quite possibly the worst dancing partner you could possibly have," she admitted with a sympathetic smile.
