Her dad's owl was the same as Sythe, very picky. Her father just decided to give it to one of his brothers and buy a new one. "Really, that's not fair for your sister is it?" Jeanne smiled. She remembers her dad having the same argument with her mother about his owl. "Hermes is okay. She's been with me for four years now" ever since Jeanne got accepted to Hogwarts her father bought her an owl as a congratulation gift.

"You're doing quite well for just starting." she smiled. Jeanne is now rubbing off every mud and other particles that she can find in Hermes' feathers.

She looked around the Owlery. Many students are up here to visit their own owl. So probably she's wanting to meet Jonathan. Staring at the place around and back at Heather, Jeanne shook her head and said "That's great. Yeah you do look like a first year" she's quite short for her age and her face is just too young. Jeanne can't believe Heather is just a year younger than her.

"I g-guess....but she got herself a new owl-it looks a bit scary though..." she remembered when the Camellia sent her some packages from home and that owl delivered it. It was glaring. "four years....that's amazing..."

Heather just gave herself a pat at the back when Jeanne said she was doing quite well and beamed. "T-thanks!" she said then jeanne mentioned she did look like a first year. Heather sighed. She didn't want to show she was a bit disappointed at it, but it does still sound nice, to have people say you looke young. "I really can't wait until my growth spurt...but i guess i should enjoy my short height for now..." she said, nervously smiling.

"Scary owls" Jeanne laughed. Jeanne never had any siblings so she really loves to help out younger girls. Being an only child sucks.

"Oh it'll come soon" referring about her growth spurt. Jeanne's family is quite tall, so she considers herself tall for her age. "You should take that as a compliment, not many people look like their age you know" patting Heather's shoulder lightly. It's true, not many people do look like their age. But looking younger than your real age is quite the compliment.

Ariadne was closer with her family than her friends, but still, she understood what Nessie was feeling. Or at least, had the impression that she understood. 'Your best friend? Is he or she not attending Hogwarts?' Ariadne asked. Could be a muggle, she herself had many muggle friends.

'Wow! South Africa? How come you came all the way to Scotland? It's so far from home...Aren't there any magic schools on your continent?' Ari wondered.

Heather agreed. Her mother always told her about that. "i will." she said. Jeanne's just so much like what Camellia is: a big sister.

Sythe then flew off her head and went to a window. Heather looked up. "Something wrong Sythe?" she asked and the owl did another dance, a if telling her he was going back now. She giggled. "all right, I'll be back again, okay?" she said. Heather turned back to Jeanne. "Sythe's going back to take a nap, I guess. I'm going back in...are you staying here a little longer?" she asked.

she then walked back to the entrance. "I-I'll see you around again then, Jeanne, Thanks so much!" she said, waving both her hands to the girl for a good bye.

Peyton happily skipped to the Owlery. It was the first time she was going to get to see Luna since the train. She hoped her Owl was doing alright. As she entered she clutched the letter she had written her daddy close to her chest. She didn't recognize any of the people there, maybe 'cause they weren't snakes?



Her eyes scanned the place until they landed on a pair of excited black eyes. "Luna!" she beamed. The tiny owl flew down and perched itself on Peyton's shoulder. "Here," the girl said, feeding the owl a treat. After it was done she tied the letter to it's leg. "Make sure Daddy get this, okay?" she smiled. Luna has never failed in delivering letters to her mom, so P knew she wouldn't fail this time either. "Stay safe," she whispered as the owl flew away. She really wanted to hear back from her dear daddy.

"Erm.. she's a muggle" said Nessie not wanting to tell her the other half. She wasn't really coping with talking about it at the moment it was still very hard for her.


"Yeah! I come here because my parents both came from Europe and they think It's the best school for me, although there is also a school or two in Africa" said Nessie smiling.

Elle walked back up to the Owlery, and entered into the old tower. She had Roman on her arm, and extended so he could fly to a perch. He turned his head at her with a look like, Where's my treat? so Elle fished some out of her robes and put out her hand. He nipped her softly on the finger, then fluttered away. Elle decided to stay around for a bit, because it was actually rather peaceful here. Even though there were owls hooting and scuttling. She leaned against the wall, and watched her big barn owl fly up to the top.

Ariadne noticed Nessie got somewhat upset while answering the question about her Muggle friend. Ari wished she could read minds, to find out what was bothering the girl. Alas, she was not a mind reader, so she had to ask.

'Are you ok? Is anything wrong? I'm sorry if I said anything inapproppriate.' The girl didn't think it was her fault, but meh. 'Cool. Yes, Hogwarts is a very prestigious magical institution.' she nodded, proudly. 'Do you like school so far? What classes did you already have?' Ari asked Nessie.

"No nothing everything's fine" said Nessie lying. She really didn't feel like talking about it. "Ya deffinatley its AWSOME!!!" Nessie smiled then said "Oh.. um.. I've had Transfiguration, Potions, Ancient Runes and I think thats all. How about you?"

Ariadne didn't look any further into it. If Nessie said everything was fine, who was she to doubt it? She focused instead on the next part of their conversation. The Gryffindor smiled at Nessie's enthusiasm. That was exactly how she felt as well, but she wasn't one to reflect intense emotion.

'Yes, me too.' the firstie nodded. 'Ancient Runes is okay, but kind of difficult. I really like Potions, no matter what people think of Lafay. But Transfiguration...that's a different story.' she sighed. 'I think that Shaw guy is completely mad.' Ari expressed her opinion. 'So what did you think of classes so far?' she asked.

"Yeah I like potions too!" said Nessie smiling. "The rest is all kinda okay , though I do enjoy Arithmancy." Nessie was glad to see she wasn't the only one which liked potions. She thought she had a talent for the subject and was hoping to get Newts in it. Nessie didn't know what to say next, so she just kept quiet.

'Hehe, we should make a Potions Fanclub. Maybe, after all, we're not the only ones who like the subject.' Although she definitely was one of the very few to like Lafay. 'Yes, Arithmancy is cool too. I thought it was going to be harder, since I'm terrible with numbers, but it turned out to be great.' Ari nodded. 'Have you started any of the homework assignments yet?' the girl asked Nessie. She was planning on going to the library as soon as possible.

"Yeah I've nearly finished" said Nessie gratefully. She looked at her purple watch to see what the time was. They had been talking for nearly a whole hour and Ness needed to finish homework and get ready for bed. "Well erm.. I gotta go it was nice seeing you again!" said Nessie as she smiled and started getting back to the common room.

As celestique walked quietly up the stone steps of the owlery, she heard a soft hoot by her right ear. "What's up?" she asked her Reddish-coloured screech owl, who was perched on her shoulder. Olympia was her pet owl. She had purchased her before school had started in diagon alley. As Olympia snuggled into her neck Celestique carefully pulled out the letter to her parents. It was just a few paragraphs of how she was doing and of the friends she had made. Her three best friends Larona Tailfeather, Janulious Twitch and Malachy McGonagall. She held outherhand to Olympia, who immediately stepped onto it. She tied the letter to her owl's leg, and as quick as a flash, Olympia flew off towards her parents house. And Celestique stayed in the exact same spot, only allowing herself to move when the tiny speck in the sky had completley dissapeared from her owners' view.

Presley performed a simple cleaning charm, and sat down on the window ledge. She curled her legs up to her chest and rested her forehead on them. This seemed like the perfect place to sit and cry. No witnesses. She let go of her strong exterior, and let the tears roll down her face. Why? Maybe he was too busy. Maybe he hadn't forgotten, he just didn't have anything to write about. It didn't neccisarily mean he forgot. Presley just sat there, curled up tightly, and let herself sob. Her owl, Mercury landed next to her, and cocked his head sideways, as if he was confused, but Presley ignored him.

Ariella wandered into the owlery, a pocket full of treats in her robe. She nuzzled her snowy owl's soft chin with her fingertip. "Hey, Athena. How are you today?" As if Athena would actually answer her. Laughing to herself, she dug around in her robe pocket and pulled out a handful of pellets. "Here you go," Ariella said, sprinkling the pellets in Athena's cage. Then, she ruffled her feathers and walked away. She loved to visit with her owl once in a while. It didn't seem like Athena got a lot of attention.

Presley froze as another girl walked into the owlery. She wiped away her tears, and jumped down from the window. "Hey," she tried for a fake smile. It didn't quite work, but it was a start.

Sarah entered the owlery carrying her back tightly. She felt little cold in there. She looked back to see Zara following her. "What say Zara, visit my owl first?" she asked. "It's been a loooong time!" she said smiling. Sarah climbed inside and gave a hand to Zara.

Zara followed close behind Sarah, wondering all the time how Sarah found her way to the Owlery when moments ago, she said she didn't know. Hmm, probably it was Sarah's instincts. "Sure, Sarah," Zara encouraged, "Besides, I'd love to meet your owl."

Well, her visit to Eirwen would have to be delayed. Hopefully, her pretty snowy owl would already be back from delivering her homework to the Ancient Runes Professor--Professor Christiansen.

Presley figured that as long as she was here, she might as well write and send a letter to her dad. She grabbed some parchement and a quill out of her bag, and began writing.
She sent the letter off with Mercury, and quietly exited the owlery.

"That's great now. She should be here somewhere." Sarah looked around, searching for her owl. "It's not hard to find her, she too-- white!" she grinned. Sarah spotted her little snowy owl perched on the top of the window sill. "Hedwig" she called loudly as she clapped. Hedwig flew swiftly and sat on Sarah's outstretched arm. Sarah tickled her owl's neck and Hedwig let out a satisfied squeal. "Been a good girl Hedwig?" she asked smiling. She extended her arm and brought it towards Zara for her to touch it. "Very delicate, Like her?" she asked. "Named her after Mr.Harry Potter's owl, she resembled his owl.." she said.

Penny went up to the owlery to visit Dora after lunch, she'd not seen her for a few days.... opening up her back pack, she took out a quill, ink, parchment and sealing wax..

Text Cut: Letter Home

Dear Mum & Dad,
I hope you are both good. Things here are great, and i've been making loads of friends and learning lots of cool stuff.... Rose has been amazing, explaining all the stuff i'm completely lost on..

We have a subject called 'Divination', and we've just finished a class assignment/discussion... about 'Scrying'..it's a magic practice that involves seeing things psychically in a medium like crystal balls, tea leaves, mirrors, dreams, water and Astrology and some other things..it is used to See the past, present and future........ It's very interesting hearing all the different methods to read signs of future events...

I like my other subjects too, we have a class called Muggle Studies, where we learn all about Muggles (non-magic people)... the main reason i'm taking this class is to see how the magical community view 'us'... we've just been covering Fairy tales and how most of them have some magic in them somewhere...

On tuesday, we're going to begin Herbology, which is all about plants and their uses... because alot of plants have medicinal benefits - so i'm quite looking forward to that..

I tried out for my house Quidditch team last night (Chaser or Seeker), but I don't know how it went yet.. the team captain told a few of us to come back again tonight because we have another try-out..... I've been busy every evening after dinner & homework - I take walks around the grounds exploring, usually with Rose or some of the girls from my dorm - The castle and grounds are so amazingly beautiful..

Penny finished writing.... then re-read it all through, for spelling mistakes..
Happy with it, she rolled it up and melted some sealing wax on to seal the letter closed...
Looking up at the perches, she spotted Dora half way up to the roof...

"Dora, come here pretty girl.." and the owl flew down and landed on Pennys outstretched arm..."I've got a delivery for you baby... can you take this to my mum & dad?"...Dora hooted happily and stuck out her right leg for Penny to attach the letter to it..

She walked to the window and let Dora fly away.... she stood there watching
until the owl was a mere dot on the horizon, turned and left the owlery..thinking that lunchtime would nearly be over soon, and she had classes to get to....

Jacob had several letters to, not only his grandfather, but a few Teams. Yup. Jacob was starting to find out Try-out times. Preferably summer, but he was alright to miss school for some quidditch try-outs. He didn't mind really.

He walked over to one of the school owls, but when it saw how many letters he had, it flew off around the Owlery.

"Get Back Here, You Dumb Bird!" he yelled, starting to chase it around. "I'm only giving you one!" Really the Nerve of these animals. His Snargaluff wouldn't be doing this! But the next thing he knew, Jacob slipped and was now on his butt in a pile of Owl Droppings.

"Great... Perfect!"

"Indeed, pretty." Zara agreed as she stoke the feathers of Hedwig. Though she had to admit, she was a bit surprised that Sarah named her owl after Mr. Harry Potter's.
