Neptune remained unconvinced that he thought it a good idea. She squinted at him suspiciously and then tried to use Legilimency on him to figure it all out.
It didn't work though. One, because she wasn't trained in the art, but two, he was SO HANDSOME over there on his side of the window. Distractingly so. Giggle. "You should just tell me what you're thinking and not spare my feelings." ... owl him? So he'd know she was okay? AWWWWWW.
"....awwwwww! You're worried about me!" Neptune would have HUGGED him if she hadn't promised herself to leave him alone. "I'll do that. Promise."
She hopped down from the window at the mention of his song and rummaged in her purse for the teensy, portable piano. Neptune held the tiny thing on her palm, up where Legend could see, her cheeks all blushed from him remembering. "I was wondering if you still remembered. I wasn't going to force it on you. I really haven't... played for many people." Randal the butler over the summer, Jim on his birthday, and Mr. Scamander...
And now Legend. If he still wanted to hear.
In a clearly practiced move, Neptune tossed the tiny piano in the air then whipped her wand out and it ENLARGED to normal size before landing on the dirty owlery floor with a soft thud. Miss Bott was clearly pleased with herself and her display. Cue applause! |

Presley walked in and whistled for Mercury. She found her almost-silver owl perched on the window ledge, already knowing Presley's common owlery-haunt. Presley sat next to the bird and stroked it's feathers gently. "Hey, Merc?" she asked it softly. "Why can't anything ever be easy? Is there a point to the dificulty?" She wasn't expecting an answer, but it looked better to be talking to an owl than to herself. At least talking to the owl, she only looked half-crazy. Talking to herself, fully crazy.

Trying to figure out of he should really tell her what he was thinking. She had been so happy when she was telling him about Jimmy smelling her hair in the love potion, and her big secret. It would be like bursting her bubble if her told her. "The last time I told you what I was thinking...I said everything the wrong way and you got all sad when you were happy." And that had been the whole 'kiss shouldn't have happened' thing.
"Well..yeah." Legend shrugged it off, trying to act cool like always. From Neptune's reaction he could tell that he had just said something cute and not cool. "You're my friend and friends..care for each other."
Legend watched with interest as Neptune hopped down from the window. Huh...what was she....his green eyes grew in surprise as Neptune through something up in the air. As soon as the spell left her mouth, his smile grew. Noow he got it. "You Ravenclaws really are geniuses." He jumped down from the window so that he could be next to the piano when Neptune played his song. "That just makes it more special! Don't worry I won't judge. I just want to hear."

Neptune took a seat on the piano bench then patted the place beside her. Legend should sit there, riiiiiiight there. "You didn't say anything wrong, Legend. Saying what you think isn't wrong; it just wasn't what I wanted to hear. It was, however, what I needed to hear." And if he had opinions and insight into her current situation, he should speak up!
She went ahead and hugged him anyway, a quick little squeeze. And a nuzzle. But that was all! "I'll owl you a present from where ever I end up! For being such a good friend. And... If I'm alone," which would... suck .... ".... maybe I'll owl you a portkey and steal you." GIGGLE.
But right. Mr. Chosen had requested a song, and as scary as it was, she was going to deliver. She put her hands on the keys then looked to Legend one last time, paused, then turned and began to play the Legend Chosen inspired song. | |

Following Neptune's lead, Legend sat down on the bench beside her. He scooted over so that he was sitting at the side of the bench and giving Neptune room so that she could play the keys without him getting in the way. He really wasn't sure if she needed ALL the keys. The piano was strange. "Hm...I just rather not hurt you...or anyone else for that matter." He shrugged. Okay...maybe guys. But he was done hurting girls. Yeah. Legend just wanted to say the right thing.
As Neptune reached over for a hug he gave her a tight squeeze before letting go. "I really, don't want a present. Really. Just have to know if you are okay." And that you weren't dead. Yeah. Getting a portkey to a randomly place? He was in! But Legend really DID hope that Jimmy was there. Or Neptune would be beyond disappointed.
HE KNEW THIS SONG! Sort of! Legend grinned and closed his eyes as he began to draw pictures in his mind. But as the melody began to change and everything got more complex his eyes fluttered open to stare at Neptune's hands. They looked as though they were floating above the keys, just barely touching them, yet making such beautiful sounds. It really did seem like magic. Like she had charmed the piano. He was only faintly listening to the beautiful song. His mind was distracted by the pure easy that the Ravenclaw played with.
As the song came to an end, Legend tore his gaze away from Neptune's hands back to her face. "Miss Bott.....You have a gift." It was clear. It was, so obvious.

Neptune Bott BLUSHED so, so pink. She really hadn't played in front of many people since she'd started taking it seriously, and though she didn't doubt she was decent enough - the awe on faces when she finished was still SO shocking. Jim had kind of looked exactly like Legend, and even Randal the butler had seemed surprised. And though Neptune usually reveled in the compliments, this was different. This wasn't something Neptune was, but something she could do, that she'd worked hard at and practiced at for hours and hours...
She felt entirely sated and utterly ridiculous all at once. "Thank you, Mr. Chosen."
Neptune got up and took a bow, once to Legend, once to the few curious owls that had remained for the show.
"It was a gift for you though."....she giggled nervously. "You were my muse."
And because she couldn't QUITE help herself, Neptune HUGGED/GLOMPED him from behind and gave him yet another hug. "Want me to teach you to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star?" She squeeeeeeeezed him as tight as her arms allowed, so so SOOOOOO happy. | |

Charlie Trina was ready to send a letter to her aunt letting her know all about her final. How exhausting it was and how bad it had hurt for a moment but then things had all been worked out between her friends. She had breathed a sigh of release when all her friends had made up. It was a happy day in the end.

Presley sighed as more and more people seemed to be in the room. She handed Mercury her very last owl treat, stroked his head once more, and hopped off the window ledge. "See you soon, Merc." she said resignedly. Presley had things to do, and just because she was having a rough time didn't mean she got to be a bad friend. So she strode out toward her common room.
