Visit with your Owl
 

This spot of the owlry is reserved for those people caring for and visiting their owls (or the school owls, if you don't have your own).

Elaine walked over to Happy, owl treats rattling around in her pocket. the owl in question seemed to have spotted her already, because he started chirping happily.
"Happy!" Elaine grinned pulling a treat from her pocket and waved it in front of him.
Happy grabbed the treat from her hand and Elaine started combing over his feathers. She pulled the loose or dead ones out and and threw them away.

Rosw walked upto Hazel and took her out to hold her. Hazel gave her an affectionate nibble on the nose! 'Oh, hello there!' Rose cooed. As Rose gave her some mice, she babbled on about her day at Hogwarts. '...And then I went and spoke to Ember! You met her on the Hogwarts Express! And the dormitorie is lovely...'

Nessie walked into the owlery. She hadn't seen Aya all day and Aya was most probably freaking out without Nessie by her. Nessie spotted Aya in a owl hole then walked up to her owl to stroke her. "Hey Aya! How you fitting with the other owls? " Aya chirped in a way that sounded like she was saying trying to say good in owl language. Nessie gave Aya some owl treats, then told her about everything that had happened to her. Nessie really loved her owl Aya.

Maggie decided to say good-night to her owl. Walking into the owlery she waited for her to fly down. As her snowy owl perched on her hand, Maggie stroked her feathers with her other hand. "Hello Jaune," the owl hooted softly, Maggie smiled, "guess you do like it. I think I'll call you Jo. Just came to bring you a treat, and to say good-night. Tomorrow I'll have a letter for you to take to mom and dad."

After sorting everything out with his room, he still had one more mission to complete...... Visit Max, his own Owl. Max, was a very soft, gentle like, Snow Owl, who ate quite often. Jordan loved him. He wasn't annoying, hard to keep care of, except for the food of course. "Well, here's some insects for you, Max. Enjoy it. Have a good time here, get some rest. I'll be getting ready for school but, I'll come down and visit you often, and feed you." Jordan said to Max, as if he was his best friend. He thought about writing to his Uncle, but thought it'd be best for Max to get some sleep, after a long train ride to Hogwarts.

Connor wondered over into the other side of the owlery and let Caramel down. he watched as the kitten scampered over to her friend and batted her lovingly on the ears. He laughed as he reached up to gently stroke the owl's chest. "I know a spell to mend things like noses and toes it might help with bird wings too." He offered Kyle.

Ginger jumped slightly, turning to find it was Caramel she relaxed, the little kitten was somewhat scared of all the large owls above her. Not wanting to become 'food' she ducked under the posts - closer to were all the pellets would be.

She mewed as she watched a little school owl as it seemed to shudder and then hack up a pellet.

"Oh I think he's alright now" Kyle smiled to Connor as Chester stretched out his wing. "You know being a ravenclaw and all I kind of invented a healing potion that reversed a broken hand and...reworked it - I made one for owls" she admitted sheepishly smiling.

Connor smiled "That's really cool! I am more of a charms and spells person meself." he shrugged "I'll remember that if I ever have a broken hand." He grinned at her.Caramel squeaked as a pygmy owl swooped down and bit her on the tail and tried to fly her up to the nest. "mehyowww"

Ginger watched the owl, her little eyes wide with fear. She did not want to be owl food and come out as one of those things. Ducking across the room she stopped when was safely on Kyle's foot.

"Oooh just to warn you - it contains whatever was growing on the wall in the corridor to Professor Lafay's office last year...because after all it is under the lake" she remembered the days she'd met former student Amedues Kippling there. He'd gotten a kick out of the ingredient idea - and when she told him the healing potion she'd given Ellie had that ingredient in it - well...you could see the gears working.

This is how I feel atm :'(
 

Emily walked slowly up to the owlery. She had just got a letter from her mum. Her real mum. She was in a state of shock and the letter she had just wrote to her sister was in her hand along with a bag of owl treats for Sunny.
She looked around but coudn't see her little tawny anywhere. 'She's left me as well' was her first thought and she didn't even realise the tears coming down her cheeks.
"S-sunny" she called out amoung the owls, but Sunny didn't come. All of a sudden she flet her legs buckle and she collapsed on the owlery floor crying. If was full of owl poo and feathers but she just sat and cried as she tore up the letter.

Happy was sitting on her shoulder, nibbling her ear and chirping cheerfully.
"You're acting as if you haven't seen me in months, jeez!" Elaine laughed giving him another treat.

She heard a thud and sobbing coming from behind her. Happy squawked, and Elaine whipped round. She saw something she certainly hadn't expected, it was Emily.
Elaine rushed over and knelt down beside her.
"Emily, what's wrong?" she said concerned, her usual smile completely gone.

Emily looked up, her hair clinging to her face from her tears, and saw Elaine kneeling beside her. "O-oh..." she sniffed wiping her tears. "I-it's nothing. Really..." she quickly scooped up the bits of the letter she had tore up and stuffed them in her pocket hopeing Elaine didn't see. She hadn't know this girl long, so she wasn't sure if she could trust her yet.
She looked into her eyes and to her suprise saw they were purple! Blue hair and purple eyes? Curious...
She got up, her eyes were red and puffy and started to call for Sunny again. She had to be strong.

Nika skipped to the owlry with a smile on her face. She couldn't wait to meet Emily's owl. As she entered the visiting area she noticed there were some other students there as well. But was Emily here yet? She looked around for her best friend and then her smile grew as she found her.

Then she saw that Emily wasn't alone, but she was with Elaine. Nika's first thought was, 'Maybe I should just come back later when Emily isn't with another friend.' But as she looked at her friend more closely she saw that Emily was crying? But Emily doesn't cry very often, unless it has to do with her family. 'Oh no. This can't be good.' She ran over to her friend and put a hand on her shoulder. "Hey Em. Everything alright?" Well of course things weren't alright! She is crying for Merlin's sake!

"Uh..." Elaine watched her get up and call for her owl. She shrugged getting up herself, 'She doesn't want to talk about it, best not to push it.'

"Here to visit your owl too?" Elaine smiled, stroking Happy who was still on her shoulder. "This is Happy by the way," she grinned as the owl nipped her finger as signal for another treat. 'Jeez, he's spoiled!' she laughed to herself.

"Oh, hi Nika." Elaine greeted with a smile as she fished a treat from her pocket. Maybe Nika could get Emily to talk, they had known each other longer after all. 'If that happens' Elaine told herself 'I should leave them alone.'

Ariadne wanted to send an owl to her mum to let the woman know she had been sorted into Gryffindor and tell her school happenings so far. As she didn't have an owl of her own, the firstie was going to use one of the school's.

In the owlery, she noticed a familiar face and walked over to the girl. 'Hi, Nessie, remember me? We met on the train.' Ari said, smiling. 'Is that your very own owl? It's beautiful.'

As she didn't remember seeing Nessie with the Sorting Hat at the feast, having been busy talking to her fellow Gryffies, she asked:'So where were you sorted? I only know it's not Gryffindor, you didn't come with us to the common room.'

Emily turned and saw Nika come through the owlery door. She felt the mixed emotion of relief of seeing her best friend and annoyance more people would be pestering her to talk.
"I'm..." she was about to say fine but looking between her two friends she flet herself blow up in tears. "No, everythings not alright."

She walked over to Elaine and stroked her owl, tears still coming down her face. "Happy is really nice." she commented to Elaine taking an owl treat from the bag and giving him one. Now where was Sunny?

She stood by the window and stared between Nika's pink and Elaine's blue hair. "I... I g-got a l-letter." she stammered taking the pieces from her pocket and throwing them out the window. Time to talk. "You know how I'm adopted right? Well I never knew my mam. She was a witch, but left m-me at b-birth..." she felt her knees hit the floor again. She coudn't. She never cried, never. "I just got a letter from my b-birth mam, and..."

She exploded again, sobbing into her own arms. Her birth mam was back. But the words woudn't form in her mouth. She wanted to tell her friends, but the idea this woman would leave her at birth then want her back was upsetting to her.

"Yeah of course I remember you!" said Nessie blushing a bit. "Yeah it is her name is Aya she's a Tawny Owl. Oh I was sorted into Hufflepuff and I'm guessing your a Griffindor?" said Nessie gigling.

Elaine was unsure what to do, so she did what her brother did when she was upset, she knelt next to Emily and rubbed her back awkwardly. Taking Happy off her should she looked at him.
"Go find a small twany owl called Sunny. Good boy," she smiled as he flew off to search.

She turned back to Emily, still rubbing her back.
"Look I've got no idea how you feel because my brother took me away from my mum. And I don't know nor do I want to," Elaine sighed "But you've got your sister and adoptive parents to help you," she grimaced and looked down.
"It'll get better" 'I hope...' Elaine didn't say that part aloud but she felt it in the air.

Aw Nika doesn't like Emily to be sad :(
 

Nika sent Elaine a smile, but it was weak. She couldn't stand there smiling being all cheerful when her best friend was having a break down. She turned her attention back to Emily as she was the one in need right now.
Nika walked towards Emily and put her hand on the girl's shoulder. "Em, stay strong." She gave her friend a small squeeze and pushed Emily's chin up with her finger so they were looking into eachother's eyes. "Emily what ever happens I'm here for you. I will always be there for you, no matter what." She didn't know what else to say. Even though Nika was feeling uneasy about her sister Emily's situation was getting worse.

"Maybe you should send her a letter back Em. Maybe you should try and talk to her." Nika didn't know why she was saying anything at the moment but the words just wouldn't stop. "Now that you know she's out there wouldn't you like to talk to her? I bet she had a good reason to give you up. What if she just couldn't afford to keep you? I think you should give her the benefit of the doubt and write her back." Nika just didn't understand why Emily was so upset, but she tried her hardest to put herself in Emily's shoes.

Ariadne was relieved that Nessie remembered her. After all, they didn't get to talk much on the train, since they were arriving at that moment when they met.

'A very pretty name and owl.' Ari grinned. 'Oh, Hufflepuff, cool! Do you know Jory? He's one of my best friends and he's in Hufflepuff too. And yes, I'm a Gryffie, what were the odds? Hehe.' Ari chuckled.

'Are you just visiting your owl or do you want to send a letter? Where are the school owls, by the way?' Ariadne asked, a bit confused. 'I need to send a letter to my mum to tell her about the feast. What did you think of it?'
