She sighed, realizing that only half of the lesson was making sense. At least he seemed to know one transfiguring spell. "Fera Verto," she said, finally speaking up and repeating the Latin words he'd called out to them. "It means," she started, pausing because she was only half sure of what she was saying, "...well, fera means 'wild animal' and verto means 'to turn around'..." She thought. "It's used to turn an animal into a goblet." Her eyes flickered over to Shaw, who'd busied himself with trying to teach Destiny how to rev up that chainsaw. Could he even hear her?! Wait...someone had given Destiny a chainsaw?!?! |

Green people from far stars is my unity-plurity: mighty hammer/weapon/first aid kit But what about Slate Gray. Else there is the water from Mars, of cause. Nodding to answer for Proffessor Shaw, whom she was listening with great impression, Anasta Lora Riddle decides to change the shape of one thing with help alpha-Transfiguration, such as a table in a chair. She sits on the desk in rows and begins to make efforts with magic word like "LUMOS!", as sum will be the Law as mass conservation. It is seriously glad very much. |

Samira raised her hand. She studied this and was confident. "Fera comes from the Latin word ferus, which means animal. Verto is Latin to say you're turning something into something else. So, basically it's saying you Transfigure an animal." |

''I really do wonder how different it could be if they did not fancy other languages because they looked cooler and actually used English for them. Would it be different at all? I doubt it. Since we can use spells non-verbal words not really that important. I think the important thing is what we have in mind and the magic we have works led by what we think of doing with it instead of what we say.'' Hmmmmm...that made sense, did not it? And a poodle? BAHAHAHAHAHHAHA! Unfortunately he had no idea what Fera Verto should mean for Josh did not know a single word of latin really, however since he had mentioned a poodle and wanting it, he might be able to take it as transfiguring a poodle into something so. ''Eh? Is it something like 'I want to turn this animal into...something else' or 'i am turning the animal into something else'?'' |
Connor raised his eyebrows at the chalkboard Then raised his hand. "Well, Shaw. We could all be grouped by house color which means the purple group is muggles, or we are grouped by the maliciousness of our need in which case I myself, having said I need my guitar would be in the purple group." He thought for a moment. "Spells are word and wand motion combination, for instance to turn an animal into a water goblet you simply tap the animal three times and say sereverto." He smiled getting into his rhythm. "Anyone could create magic words if the desire behind the spell is strong enough." |
SPOILER!!: ChainShaw "For transfiguration to occur, one must visual the desire object as what it is, and then what it will be, that image fixated in one's mind they partner their wand with an incantion and then..........." Patroclus had been in the middle of answering Shaw's question, however he was left dumb as he saw the mean give Destiny a lesson in how to operate a chainsaw What the heck?! This man was insane, first for having a chainsaw in class, and then for giving it to Destiny! However he tried to stifle his miscomfort, and proceed to answer the next question, "Fera Verto translates into 'to turn a wild beast' and as Sierra said, it is traditional used for turning a Bird into a water goblet." Yes....he was referencing Sierra..... |

Then they were going into Latin. He thought this was Transfiguration class, they would just be turning things into other things. The only latin he knew was his family motto: Tolle quod debes's. Take what should be your's. Fair motto for the Sinclair family. "Umm Professor does it mean, I need a cup, oh hey here's an animal to change it into one?" He shrugged. |

Raising her hand, she decided to give a short answer now. She knew the answer, "Fera Verto turns animals to water goblets." Then she watched as he helped the girl with the chainsaw. Now, she wasn't looking forward to this. She put her hands on her ears, waiting for that noisy creepy sound. |

It felt like her arms were going to fall off, that's how heavy the chainsaw was. It reminded her of that one Muggle Studies class where she had to use that HEAVY drill. Why didn't Shaw think to make the chainsaw less heavy, he was supposed to be COOL and SMART! And she would have asked him to lighten the thing for her, but it seemed he had other ideas in helping her. Well, that was better. The thing wasn't as heavy and his way of explanation made her know how to use it. Really, he should teach every single class. With her finger on the button, Destiny gave a hard tug on the cord and with the chainsaw coming to a VERY loud and VERY shaky life, she pressed the thing against the board. And she just had to pick one of the hardest words to write, didn't she? It took time and concentration "SOCKS!" She forgot to wear a pair. |

Oakey Stood up one last time and backed up all the way to the last row. He was about let one of the other students massacre the chalkboard and Oakey did not want to even be in the middle row for this event. As he sat down in the the crowded back row he answered Shaw's question. Fera Verto is the spell to turn wild animals into goblets. But it literally translates to Wild Animals and To Exchange. So in away we're exchanging animals for a cup. Oakey pointed at Shaw's half eaten cup as an example. |

"Fera means 'beast' in Latin. Verto, I believe means 'turn'." Savannah said proudly. Ask Savannah anything Latin or French. She'll know it all. "Are we gonna do anything soon?" Savannah asked, a little impatient with all the questions. |
Jai sat watching Shaw give a very different but interesting lesson on using the incantation 'Fera Verto' to transform things while using a chain saw. He wrote notes as accurately as he could. He watched the girl with a little anxiety as the chain saw looked really dangerous. He wasn't too sure about his teacher, Shaw just yet. |

"Magician can transform easy one object into another , if 1. possess a sufficient level of mind and have a magic wand; 2. Correctly calculate the formula and write it. 3. Read correctly spell with lips. For example: "a red cat in a wooden stick from tree,"aphi "," this". He then instructs her wand at the object (O) and utters the magic word "metatrepo"- means "transformed ". Become transformed for time. If O - a magician or magical creature, it is recommended to open over an umbrella. To turn back a wooden stick into a cat, needs to pronounce the formula of "wooden stick in a red cat, aphie, this, metayono metatrepo maxim!" by drawing these characters", - she likes Transfiguring Stuff in the Transfiguration classroom and make with them own that needs to her. |
Fera Verto.... Fera Verto.... "I have no idea." the Slytherin lad mumbled. He signed up for Transfiguration classes. Nobody told him Latin classes were a pre-requisite. He looked at the groupings on the board and listened to Shaw point out who got them answers correct. "Seems to me that the Green People are gonna be good offensive team." And with enough smarts to bring something along to keep.the.fight. Heh. |
Fera who-now? HUH? Big words. BIG LATIN WORDS. Nika tried to give it her best shot. "Well Fera kinda sounds like ferret and verto sounds like erm version or something so maybe a ferret version?" Wait huh? Ferret version of what..... |
Gavin wrote down the grouping with his shaking hand. He wondered if he would ever be able to read back his notes again. When Shaw asked what Fera Verto meant, Gavin knew the answer but he didn't want to draw attention to himself. He was still sitting right at the front desk and thought it would be better to make himself as small as possible |

O_o Shaw laughed. "Well, you would know I reckon." Quote:

"You got the gist of it, I reckon. Ever hear a real professor go on about intent?" Quote:
"There's that water goblet again. Where'd that come from? Says who? Latin didn't say water goblet!" Quote:

"YODELEEEEEHHHEEEEHOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!" Which one of them wanted power??? THEY should be asking for turns on the chainsaw. Shaw left helmet girl person to her carving and sawing. She had the gist of it. Shaw had taught her everything he knew about chainsaws. "LET HER RIP!" She'd made a pretty good S. S's were hard, Shaw knew. "Socks?" he laughed. "Socks are IMMMMMportant. That will be your personal project errr you." Person girl thing. Quote:
Now that chainsaw fun time was over again, Shaw turned back to all these people congregated around him. What... Oh yeah. "Aren't we doing stuff now?" Weren't they? Shaw was almost sure they were. Almost. "You probably know best. Let's get into groups. Yall like groups? Brilliant stuff comes out of groups." "So let's you yellow wearing people work together. Then the ones wearing red work together. Blues with blues and greens with greens. If you don't know what I'm on about you can get in that there last group that I labeled," Shaw had to turn and see what he'd labeled it as," Err Everyone else?. Or work alone if you're into that." Quote:
Shaw stared at the board, then back to the class. "Right there. Your job is to come up with them there fancy words, Latin words, that you can use to change your stuff into well....other stuff. No promises they'll work, but understanding the ROOT before you grow flowers is always best, I say. Same for transfiguration. So go on now. Use your text books. Find them fancy words. Shaw will try out the ones I think will work best at the end." Okay? Shaw looked confused and ate another bite of cup. |

"He still scares me. Wonder what they put in HIS pumpkin juice.." she whispers. In a more prompt voice, she called out an answer. " Number one: Malleus Validus Number two:Arma Number three:Subvenio Ornamentum Primus But that is just my guess. You obviously know more so please enlighten us! Sir... I mean Shaw...Yeah..." Rain voiced decrescendoed into a soft whisper. Darn her impulsiveness. "Sorry...out of line...SOO anyone want to partner up?" |
Ellie didn't get up. Nope. She couldn't think of anything she needed, or wanted, right now. But she did like what Iris wrote. That girl got a smile. Everyone could use a little Kingsley. Especially in Transfiguration. Especially in this Transfiguration class. With a chainsaw dude. "First term we changed chickens into pillow cushion things." Destiny got a look. "With Pulvinus." Hell if she knew what it meant, though. And, "I don't have my textbook." She never did. It was in her trunk with the rest of her unused textbooks. |

Find partner, find a partner. Zara shouted, "HEY! Who wants to partner up, Gryffindors?" If no one would come up, she'd have to work alone, which isn't bad either. |
Cool. This guy was cool. After listening intently, and observing Shaw's... quirks, he gave instruction, finally. She copied the words sloppily onto a piece of scrap parchment so she wouldn't have to look back up to the mutilated board, and pulled out her Charms textbook. YES, SHE WAS AWARE that this was Transfiguration class, but charms class focused briefly on the latin words. The Transfiguration book did not. Looking back up, she wondered if he had grouped them into houses, which would be the most obvious answer. But Shaw was the fry in the onion rings. Mmmmm... Onion rings... Anyway. Kana pondered for a moment, then decided to just go with the houses theory. Blue group it was. Flipping open a blank page in her Transfiguration notebook, she wrote down a few things to remember about latin from the Charms book, then swapped it out for her Tansfiguration book. Wait. Kana scratched her INSANELY bright red hair for a moment and looked back up to what he had written. Yellow, as in cowards. Green, as in envious. Blue, as in sad. And Red as in... mad? Then she decided that Shaw didn't put that much thought into things and continued on her work. |
Theodore was extremely excited upon hearing the next task. Latin prefixes were his absolute favorite! Digging out one of his textbooks, he searched and searched. So, he had to transfigure... something into ear muffs, then a watch, then sunglasses, and finally, a hat. Make it a stetson hat, to please the professor. Scratch that, a mask. The hard hats were for the Gryffindors. "Well," He began, his eyes scanning through the pages of his book. "For ear muffs, you could say... silentium? Or... ent, which means ear, and... quies quietis, which means quiet or silence. Ent quies quietis?" After a moment, he searched for the next latin words. What would work for 'watch?' "Hm..." He tapped his fingers on the book, searching and searching, until... "Nunc obtineo? Nunc means 'now' or 'at the present time' and obtineo means 'holder.' Aren't watches essentially time holders?" Two to go! Scribbling down his previous ideas, Theodore moved onto the next word. Sunglasses? Like those that the professor seemed to be fond of? "Desino means to stop or desist and oculus means eye, so... for sun, we could use... sol solis! So... Ocudesino sol solis!" Truthfully, he was a bit overly proud about this little incantation he had just created. "Did you give the Ravenclaws the tough ones on purpose?" Raising an eyebrow at the teacher, he embarked on the last part of the task: mask. Clapping his hands together, he became a bit slap-happy about discovering the last Latin words. "Os means mask, literally, and tego means to cover or conceal. Ostego!" |

She was right? Huh? Go figure. Grinning a bit, Ivory sat up a little straighter in her seat. Praise did wonders to a person's self esteem you see. That is until you realized a student was grabbing a chainsaw about to carve on the blackboard. Watching Destiny rev up the giant power tool, Ivory bit her lip, her hands clenching on her desk. Nails making tiny little indentions in the wood as the loud sound echoed throughout the classroom, Ivory let out a huge sigh of relief when it was over. SOCKS! Socks! A small nervous laugh escaped her lips. Yes, it was one thing to see their Happy everyone was safe with their appendages intact, Ivory let her smile return once again as she moved closer to all those others clad in blue. "Hey guys! It would seem we're in charge of transfiguring ear muffs, watches, sunglasses and masks." With a bright questioning smile to those, around her she tried to engage them into conversation. "Any ideas?" In the previous terms they'd learned both how to make cold weather clothing and watches so it shouldn't be too difficult. |
Text Cut: Shaw Okay. Okay. Okay. Hold it! Peyton was still confused. She got the group dividing and stuff, but rest just zoomed through one and out the other. Couldn't Shaw like...speak properly? The girl was having difficulty in decifering what he wanted them to do. Flowers? Were they going to transfigure things into flowers? If that was the case Peyton was ready...and if it wasn't then...well, she was lost. Come up with them words? What the heck? Her head hurt. Whatever. Now, partnering time! "Who's a Slytherin?" 'cause she needed a partner. Peyton didn't want to go around checking everyone's robes to see of they were snakes. |

"Er, do you know what we're doing? I'm completely lost..." She didn't seem too bad. |
