As she joins the Slytherins, Aiden was too busy to pay attention to the other members. She was brainstorming for the most suitable incantation and wand movement.

Now, for the wand movement. A flick might work well...

Penny had noticed the other Huffie, sitting on his own without help.... decided on the spot to offer whatever help she could,,
"Uhm, Hi we've not been introduced, but i'm Penny i'm in Hufflepuff too.....

the spell i've invented is...'Piscis Verto'..'Piscis' being Latin for fish...Verto being the Latin to turn...
then maybe the wand movement being a swish to the right with a swift double flick..but we could change that...maybe 'Picsis Abeo'..what do you think?"
Then quickly explaining that it would be her pencil case that would be changing into the fish (hopefully).

Selina listened to the little lion scribe take control of the situation. She was right, if they wanted to win and get ahead of the game they needed to move away from names and give them wand movements. So Selina spoke up, "Kurumi's right. Theory is great and all, but we need more than theoretical knowledge for this to work. What we need now is a solid and compact list of spells along with their movements. So here is what I suggest. We split the list up. Everyone takes a spell and comes up with a motion for it. That way we split our time right down the middle and we have time left over to try them out and make changes if needed. For example, in Latin we have a thing called scanton. Dactyl and spondee mean the difference between long and short with words. Now all of you don't have to know that but it's the way I'm going to come up with my motions. Long and short. So Converto Scuto would be a dactyl and a spondee respectfully. Therefore I would do one long swipe up with my wand and a short cut to the left."

"Okay, so Canis would work. But...is there more to it?" It seemed like she was missing something. Isobel shrugged; Oakey seemed to have that part worked out. "To change it purple you have to say Color Feulgo...I'm pretty sure." It was something like that. Anyway..."If the dog was white you'd say Color Feulgo white to purple."

Kurumi looked at Selina as if the second year had sprouted two extra heads and was beginning to breathe fire with one, spout bubbles with another, and stick her tongue out with the third. What was she talking about? Long and short? All the words seemed rather long to her, so that wasn't going to help her very much with coming up with a wand motion based on sounds.

Nonetheless, Kurumi added Selina's wand movement to the list and then glanced down it. "I'll take Gignatis Ferrum," she said waving her hand as if speaking to a professor, but she was only speaking to her classmates.

Picking up her wand, Kurumi tapped her temple as she thought a little more conceptually about the spell. It created the shape of a person using already transfigured things or at least three objects...person....person...PERSON! THAT'S IT!

"Since this spell is creating a humanoid out of the three objects, it only seems fitting that the wand movement be a reflection of this," she chirped as she swept her wand from left to right with a slight downward movement, and then repeating in the opposite direction to paint the Japanese character for person in the air.

After adding this to her notes, Kurumi looked at the bottom of her parchment where she had written a wand movement suggestion, but it hadn't been assigned to any of their spells yet. "What about this want movement?" she asked her pride. "Which spell do we want to assign it to?"

Caroline turned her head to the girl, who had asked if they should invite her over. "Can I ?" She asked, picking up her bag and getting up. "Yeah, I could use some help." She said to the boy. She sat down with the group and looked around. "So which thing from the board are we doing?" She asked, Salander because he looked more like he knew what was going on then the others. She was still somewhat completely lost.

Or maybe not as he seem to be figuring out what it was they were suppose to be doing. "Yeah, We've got to try out the spells that we come up with." What exactly making up words was going to work she didn't know. Just as the younger boy asking what would happen if they killed someone. What? Seriously? She held a laugh. Some of these younger kids cracked her up. Leave? "Why leave? I just got here. I'm Caroline by the way." She laughed. She mite as well introduce herself. Salander thought this class was the funniest? Mmmm Caroline wouldn't quite go that far. Dangerous manly due to the fact that she would be tramatised by the sight of Desting holding the chaissaw,"If you do transfigure, make sure Destiny does get it" She snorted. Really never again.

Selina leaned over to look at Kurumi's paper and saw the wand motion written down without an owner. Her eyes flickered from spell to spell trying to fit a spell to pair it with. None of them seemed very related, but the motions were hard and quick. Then she knew which spell the movement would relate perfectly to, "Kurumi put it with Verto Acerpilleus. It's a hard movement and it's quick. It fits with a quick transfiguration into a hard helmet."

None of the other Gryffindors seemed like they wanted to participate thus far so she looked down at more spells. "Kurumi for Cambrair Scutum why don't we just make the motion a large circle counterclockwise to outline the shape of the shield we are making? It's a simple motion, but it relates and will work under the gun."

"Sounds like a good idea to me," Kurumi nodded making the appropriate changes to her parchment. "That is, unless anyone one objects." Everything was open to discussion after all.

Kurumi pressed finger against her lips as she thought a bit more. "What about, for either one of our remaining shield spells, or perhaps an armor one, we do something where we draw the shape of a triangle in the air? It is said to be the strongest shape and in doing so could perhaps enhance the protective properties of the final result of the transfiguration." Kurumi's eyes brightened as she scanned the list a bit to see what spell she could apply it to. "How about...Contego?"

Kurumi added that wand movement to her parchment and read over the spells. They DID seem to be missing a few spells dealing with transfiguring something into armor. "Is there away to combine Corpus and Mutatio...like...Corpus Mutatious?" Kurumi asked tilting her head to the side. "To, um, change one's clothing into armor...Perhaps adding the word of the thing you want to change at the end? Similar to what we did in Charms with Locomotor. So...something like Corpus Mutatious Jacket..."

Hey, it was worth a try, right?

"That works," Selina said to all of Kurumi's suggestions. But then when she made the comment about the jacket Selina could not help but giggle, "Change one's body jacket?" That was what she said, "Really Kurumi? What we could do is make it Mutatis Loricatus? That means to change into armored literally. Loosely though it could be bent to say transform into armor. That way we can change anything into armor. Not a body..."

It was the thought that counted, right? Kurumi had never really heard of Latin until Selina had talked about it briefly in the common room during their first night back, so one could hardly expect her to have perfected it create a hodgepodge of words was fair game however.

"Oh, that sounds fancy," she said rather naively as she added it to the list of spells. Now...for a wand movement. "What if it is just a quick vertical slash upwards and then another slash at the top, sort of like the shape of a T?" T for TERRIFIC!

Kill someone... really? Aurora laughed to herself, the amount of times her potions had gone wrong and no-one had been hurt. Except a few ants. She fell quiet as he spoke, guessing that she should probably leave the older students to it as they didn't seem to thrilled to have her there.

Aurora smiled at the girl. "Well, I'd like to try it but I'm not very practiced in the whole transfiguration thing." She waved her wand around absentmindedly. "Maybe one of you should try it first, I'll be ready with the first aid kit spell just in case." She grinned.

Ember grinnned. "hahah great isnt it. CHAAAIIINNNSHHHHAAAWWW." Ember loved this class, it was good, and she could learn lots from it.

'Totally! Hey, we can call him Saw instead of Shaw! Whadda you think?' Rose grinned. She was scared at first but this class could easily become her favourite! 'Hey, Shaw is this right?' Rose called to the teacher 'Galea Verto!' And Rose hoped a helmet would be made from it.

Selina smiled at Kurumi who seemed a little flustered by her blunder. But it was okay, all Kurumi had was a Latin dictionary. Selina had years of Latin training. For never having any contact with the language before she was doing a really good job, "Nice try Kurumi. Really. And yeah the T things sounds awesome. Personally T is my favorite letter," she didn't know why. Maybe just all names that started with T had owners who were extremely awesome. Alas, she could not put her finger on it.

She looked back down at the list and began to think Team Kurina was heating up the floor again. They always were on their game whenever large assignments went out in class. "Okay how about for Corpus Armatura," worst Latin ever, "we glide the wand to the left and then straight down? It makes a strong motion similar to what Roman shoulders would do when being called to attention."

Legend was busy tapping his quill agaisnt the desk. How was he suppose to actually come up with more words? This was stupid. Some students would have lists upon lists but he really didn't care. Would finding Latin words to give him a chainsaw EVER help him in life?

He was preoccupied by his bitter thoughts when a chocolate frog box hit his arm. Legend caught the box before it dropped and ripped it open excitedly only to find it empty.

Awesome. His head turned to the direction of the empty box thrower. Oh, Josh."Not really. Latin's dead langauge man. I don't think SHAAAAAAAAAW knows that." Extreme exaggeration on the name. "But you could give me some of your if you got any." Wink, wink. Nudge. Yeah Josh, hook him up.

Nika let out an exasperated sigh as Selina started talking about long, short, weird stuff. Huh? Okay Nika is a bit lost now... Then she heard Kurumi who also seemed a bit confused by all of the weird words. Kurumi chose movements that had nothing to do with long, short- whatever. So Nika raised hand and waved it around in the air impatiently. Wait... They're in groups. No need to raise hands. "What about making a circle with our wands for' Contegifors' because it could represent a circular shield?" She said with a shrug. Well it's better than nothing.

Lost, Ginny saw some other first years talking. Shyly, she wandered over to see if she could join in their conversation.
"Hi guys, my name is Ginny," she smiled warmly. "Uhm, what exactly are we supposed to be doing?"

"I like the letter 'T' too," Kurumi blushed. 'T' was used in Treyen's name after all and he made the letter sparkle like no one else could. Kurumi listened as Selina offered another wand movement. "Oh, that seems to be rather fitting as well," she agreed jotting that down on the parchment before looking up again at Selina rather sheepishly. "Um...what exactly does that spell do? So, um, I can make a more complete list..."

"We have a similar wand movement for another spell," Kurumi replied checking her list. "For Cambrair Scutum actually." She showed the paper to Nika. Kurumi wasn't sure if using the same wand movement would be a problem, but several spells they had learned were essentially a simple swish and flick movement anyway. "How about we make a clockwise circle instead of a counterclockwise circle, just for a bit of variation?"

Kurumi looked up after adding Nika's wand movement suggestion to see a first year, several really, looking a bit lost. "We are making our own spells," Kurumi called gently to the poor confused group. "If you want, you can join us. We are thinking of wand movements to match the spells we have already come up with."

She beckoned the first years to come join her and the rest of Team Shaw.

"I'm Kurumi, and this is Selina. Selina knows a lot of Latin, so she is helping make spells. This is Nika, a second year. That is Patroclus, your male prefect and next to him is Josh and Legend."

She looked back at the first years and pushed the parchment forward a bit for them to take a look. "Got any ideas for a wand movement? It can be anything at all."

Nika nodded her head quickly. "Yeah okay! Sorry I don't think I heard the other one." Oops. But now there's a variation for the two so that's good. Maybe one day Nika can be as smart as Kurumi. "Oh and maybe for 'Fortibus Pilleus' we could do a erm..." Hmm think Nika think. "A jab in front of us and then and then bring our wands down and then up again?" she said almost positive that this one wasn't like any other movements.

Sierra got settled into her chair and took out a piece of parchment and a quill. She noted that Evelyn didn't have hers out yet, which would explain why she probably hadn't gotten started yet, but did it really matter? Did they have to actually turn this in or just discuss and tell Shaaaaaaaaaaw? Mehh. "I don't think so," she said, overhearing a nearby group of Gryffindors. "Seems like they're translating all the words into Latin and then making up their own spell."

She dipped her quill in ink and wrote:

Well, it was a start. "Why do we have to do the first aid kit anyway?" she mumbled.

Sierra somehow overheard Salamander spouting out some answers from a few rows over. Sounded like his group had it going on over there. "Psst, ...Salamander," she said. She scribbled something down on her parchment then help up the nearly blank parchment for him to see. She tapped the bottom message with the tip of her quill.

Oakey decided to test the Color Feulgo spell. He was gonna test it on his yellow Hufflepuff tie he wore today. To be safe he undid it around his neck and laid it on the desk. He waved his wand and say Color Feulgo Yellow to Purple
The tie began to change colors but stopped mid-way and ended up being a tie-dye-tie of yellow and purple. He had done something wrong. Was it the wand movements? He looked to Isobel for help again. and what were the wand movements for Verto Canis.

Selina smiled at Kurumi and replied, "It means body armor. So I guess someone meant to make a body into armor. We can use it for sure."

"Hello I'm Selina," Selina said to the firstie.

"It's alright," Kurumi replied shaking her head. "I am sure that not all spells have a unique wand movement and some are the same. Just thought that it would be nice if we kept everything looking a bit different. Really get those creative juices flowing." They were Gryffindors after all. Bold was a must and one couldn't be bold without being creative...or something like that. "I'll add your suggestion to the list."

"Thank you," Kurumi said nodding and adding the desctiption to her notes.

"We still have a few more spells that we need wand movements for," she looked to the first years hoping that she could get some of their input as well. It had been a confidence boost for her when she had been a first year and the older students had been patient and allowed her to contribute to class discussion.

Selina admired Kurumi's patience with the first years but she was not going to wait for them to decide to input an idea. When she was a first year she was never afraid to speak her mind and throw her ideas in the pot in class projects. In fact Team Kurina had supplied Gryffindor with many house points on many occasions. They were a good team, affective yet patient... for the most part.

She leaned over Kurumi's body again to look at the list. They only had a few left so Selina picked another random spell, "Okay Verto Parma. We could make the wand move in a small counterclockwise circle and then a sharp movement downward. Kind of like making a P but more involved. Only because of the word Parma. And it also makes the design of a shield with an arrow heading toward it." The movement reminded Selina of Dido being struck by Cupid's bow. The doe had never expected it.
