Three: Uses of Runes Tristan flung the doors of the classroom wide open. Last class. Perhaps he would continue to teach... He would think about it tomorrow... He turned to the blackboard and wrote the words: Theoretical class Then he placed the chalk on his desk and sat down. |
ANCIENT RUNES! Helena walked happily towards the Ancient Runes classroom, wondering what they were going to do this class. As she entered, she spotted professor Christiansen and smiled at him. She had a surprise for him. Hehe. "God dag... uh..." what was the word for 'professor'? ... "... professor," she finished quickly, feeling the blood as it rushed through her cheeks. Great. She was a total failure. The girl spun around and made her way to her usual desk, somewhere in the front. |
Louisa skipped into the classroom, her ponytail making dizzy moves behind her. She wasn't really happy about the class itself but she just loved learning... even if it was boring and non practical. "Hi, sir." She said almost carelessly as she passed the Professor's table to one of the seats in the front row. |
Lara walked into the class half asleep, she didn't sleep very good last night but she had to come here. She was hoping that she won't sleep here as Ancient things make Lara yawns all the time. However she tried to straighten herself as she steped toeard the Professor and said "Hi Professor!" she looked at the board and her eyes widened as she read Theoretical ! she was sure that she's gonna contiue her sleeping right here. So she looked around trying to find a comfy chair so she can sleep without any problems, maybe at the back! |
Ariella entered the Ancient Runes classroom, already bored out of her mind. She hated this class, and honestly didn't know why her parents were making her take it. "Hi, Professor," she said as she took her usual seat - getting out her belongings. |
Marilyn entered the class, noticing that not many of her peers had arrived yet. With a sigh, she found a seat near the back, not comfortable enough to sit up front, yet. With a clear "Hello, Professor..." the blonde sat. |
Ancient Runes! Great, or something. It made Hugo think of his girlfriend, so that was always nice. He quietly entered the classroom, took a seat and unpacked his school equipment. "Hello, professor," he said, once seated, taking out his quill. |
After a quick breakfast in the Great Hall, Eino made his way up the grand staircase to the fifth floor and into the Ancient Runes classroom. He rubbed his tummy as he walked to his usual seat, then sat down and set up his desk with parchment, textbook, quill, and ink. He looked up at the Professor-Ministry man and waved at him, then noticed the writing on the board behind him. Theoretical class. At least he wrote in the same language as the students. Maybe he should starting writing everything on the board, instead of speaking. |
"Good day, Professor." Kimalia smiling politely whilst entering the classroom. Kimalia knew she was a little rocky when it came to doing Runes, but she hoped today would be a smooth and successful lesson for her. |
This was the first time this term that Josh had decided and was going to participate to an Ancient Runes Class. And he knew all the gossip about that new Viking professor had played a great part at this decision of him. He was curious after all and wanted to see the man and the way the taught the subject. Stepping into the class the first thing he did was to look around to see if a certain she-snake had arrived and found herself a good enough seat. However, she was not in the classroom yet as neither of his close friends were except...Marilyn. So, walking forward ''Hi, man!'' got out of his mouth all of a sudden when he had intended to greet the teacher. Eh? Where was the word 'Professor'? The boy had no idea why he had not greeted him as 'the professor'. Maybe...he was not used to regard the man as a professor now...it was the first time he had seen him after all. But...could that be an explanation for it? The seventeen year old Gryffindor was unable to make up his mind for this. Giving the man a slight, apologetic smile, Josh walked past him and chose the seat close to Marilyn for himself. He was a man after all so what he had said was not completely wrong. Hehe... |
Kurumi entered the classroom, her bag slung over her shoulder, and took a deep breath as she took on more timid step and looked up at the professor. For some reason, seeing that there was writing on the board put herself at ease because words she could read! Now, if he would just write for the entire lesson everything would be fantastic! Still, she feltthat she had picked up on a little of his speech patterns and hoped that she wouldn't become too confused. "Good day, professor," Kurumi smiled shyly before she took her seat in the front. |

Simon walked towards the latest runes class with a relaxed expression on his face. Sure it was one of the harder classes but he tended to do well in the subject, not to mention it was the one class taught by a ministry-appointed professor that seemed actually worth anything. Entering the classroom, he nodded to the man standing near the front of the room. "Good day Professor," he greeted politely before turning to take in the rest of the room and those already there. Simon smiled at Kurumi, raising his eyebrow in curiousity as he spotted his best friend there as well. "Decided to join us..." he mused half teasingly as he took a seat near Josh. |
Penny polyjuiced as Violet Le Veela Penny walked into the classroom for start of her next Runes class.."God Dag Professor". She said hello to a few more people, but for some weird reason they were looking at her differently - it was only when she sat down and removed to tin pencil case and saw her reflection, that she realised she didn't look like Penny any more - but she looked an very much like Violet, a second year Puff.. Deciding to stay quiet about the switch for now, Penny wanted to see how someone else lived an average day, Walk in Violets shoes...figuratively speaking :D |
Carter entered the Ancient Runes classroom. He was tempted to skip because of what happened last time. He couldn't face another bad rune reading after everything that was going on. "Hello Professor." he said forcing a smile. He then took a seat behind Marilyn and Josh. Hopefully this lesson would go better. |
Josh/Carter Marilyn first seen Josh walk in...and not shortly after Carter. Both boys sat in close proximity to her, which caused the blonde to smirk. "Is it just me or are Gryffindors surrounding me these days?" When was class starting anyway? She glanced down at her watch. |
Poking his head through the door, Salander glanced around before finally walking in. He wasnt quite sure if he would actually turn the other way given that the Professor would likely have seen him anyway, although he always wondered what they would do if students showed up just to say hello then leave. Eh, maybe another time. He was too lazy to turn back around anyway. Whoever said laziness was a bad thing? |
Samira scowled slightly as she made her way to the ancient runes class room. Not one of her best subjects. At all. She was better at practical stuff: Potions, DADA, Charms...Arithmancy? Ancient Runes? Divination? She was hopeless. The Slytherin was basically dragging her feet as she sullenly made her way over to the room. "Hello Professor," she said dully. Hopefully today she would actually be able to understand the guy. That would be nice. Plopping herself down in her seat, Samira prepared for a class she knew she would fail at completely. |
Elise floated into the room, feeling particularly happy for no reason at all. "Good Day, Professor!" sh greeted as she looked for a seat. |
William waits for the lesson to begin. |
Theoretical class eh? That was Mia's type of class. Even though the Ancient Runes professor was a little hard to understand sometimes, she was still excited. Stepping inside the classroom she nodded her head at the Professor. "Good day Professor Christensen." she said cheerily as she made her way to the middle of the classroom and plopped herself down into a chair and waited for the class to begin. |
‘Good day Professor’, Gwen greeted as she entered the classroom. She then looked around for a seat. Finally finding one, the girl waited for the class to start. Hmm… I wonder what we did last time?, the young Ravenclaw thought, but couldn’t remember. Something with ancient runes, of course… but what?!?! Still, after ten minutes of thinking, she wasn’t able to remember. Odd. |
Ancient runes :) What an interesting subject. Savannah likes how the Runes are shaped. So prettyful! They also have a mysterious feeling which Savannah find interesting. Savannah walked happily into the room and sat in an empty seat near the front. She took out her texrbook, parchment, and quill. They will possibly be needing them. Since when do they use wand in this class? "Good morning professor." Whoops, she almost forgot to greet the professor. Then suddenly, the words on the black board caught her eye. Theoretical Class. Isn't Ancient Runes theoretical class everyday?? |
Tristan smiled at the class. "God kveld, Barn." He nodded at them all. "You are all fine, ja? Ve vill begin ze lesson now." "In ze first class ve touched on ze topic of runes and zeir uses. Today ve vill discuss zeir uses in detail. Vat is ze earliest known use of runes?" ooc: The question he asks is What is the earliest known use of runes? |
Uh huh. Eino tilted his head. The man's mouth was still hexed, apparently. Eino tried to repeated the question in his head and translate it word by word to English. Once that mystery was figured out, he had to think about the question, and when he had a safe guess he raised his hand. "I think the earliest use of Runes was around 150 A.D." That was all he knew. If the Professor wanted an exact date then Eino could make one up later. |
Here we go. Kurumi's eyes narrowed and and stared at Professor Viking for a good long while almost forgetting to breathe as she did. She WAS going to understand what this man was saying, so help her! Due to their previous lessons together, she had been able to figure out that many times when he said hard V sounds he sometimes meant to say WH. This seemed fitting with his question, so she thought that she was able to piece together his question. "Communication?" she asked with her hand raised. |
