The Stable Up the hill from the Magical Creatures Nursery sits the School's stable. Inside the stone building, moss and hay cover most of the wooden floor, and a fresh batch of very young abraxans occupy almost half of the stables. The smell of the stable is musky and pleasant, with a hint of butterbeer scent somewhere in between. |
Selina was mad, no Selina was furious. Her hand was slowly crumpling her letter to the point of no return. Who did he think he was sending her a letter like that? What gave him the right to even ask that of her and then pull the family card on her? She didn't care who Nathan was- he would not even try to manipulate her like that for Violet. Selina liked Christopher, she loved her cousin, but she would try to avoid hurting her fellow lion's feelings. Finally throwing her back against the wall of the stable she inhaled deeply. Then a baby Abraxan nudged up against her hair and she smiled. She turned around and began to pet the small thing. She loved this place. Her, Violet, and Elektra loved to gather here in what seemed like another life time. But it was just a year ago. Then when she was finally calm she kissed the head of the Abraxan and uncrumpled her letter. Inside it said: SPOILER!!: letter |

Then Selina felt the crumpled paper in her hand and her face went stiff. She reached over to her friend and handed over the letter. What Nathan said was right, she was going to help family- Violet was family. She deserved to know that he really liked her. Then she could do with the information what she pleased. |

"Violet?" She asked touching her shoulder softly, "Um.... please be alive." |
Katie walked into the stables, the familiar scent of horse and a hint of butterscotch lingering in the air met her nose as she breathed in. It reminded her of her Grandmother's horses, and of course of Quasimodo, the Abraxan she had cared for since third year. The colt turned stallion was gone now, though. Sooner than Katie had expected, even though he was a little bit over four years old now. She had expected to leave before him, but then again she didn't exactily grow into a giant or anything. Her leaving was based upon her education. Qausi's was based on growth, and her abraxan friend had outgrown the stables and needed more room to roam. Although she missed the big guy, Katie knew it was for the very best. It was in Qausi's best interest. But that wasn't going to stop her from visiting the stables to help with the younger abraxans, and escape the chaos of the school for a little while. Standing near the entrance with a hand on her hip, the seventh year gazed around briefly, before letting her hand drop as she went to open the cupboard and get a couple of bottles to prepare while she waited for a certain Gryffindor boy to show up. |
Amy walked into the stables, wrinkling her nose at the smell of horse and....grass and hay, good horsey smells, like Zoe used to smell of, when she'd come home from the stables, she walked over to the abraxham she'd made hers in her second term and grinned at her, hey Gabs she grinned at the half horse half...thing, stroking her mane and feeding her some buttermilks, she undid the ties on her ringles and leading her out |

"Violet... I'm so sorry I shouldn't have told you. I just thought, I don't know. I thought you'd want to know. Because.... well it involves you." |

Spotting her almost immediately, he called out for her before reaching her. "Heyy KT! What's up!?" |

He smiled hearing her and immediately brought his hand forward to take a large bottle from KT's under arm as she knelt down to greet Koala. "Oh I have been .. fine. Same old .. You?" he asked, looking at her and then at Koala again. Why couldn't he look at her? Ahh .. this was insane. Forcing some courage into his guts, Orlando looked at KT again. "Look .. KT. I don't want things to be awkward between us .. whatever happened between you and Legend ..well it happened." He shrugged, really making an effort to keep looking at her. "I really have no place to be upset over it at all .. I just hope you guys can figure stuff out." he nodded, meaning sincerely whatever he said. |
Lando <3 Kneeling to pat Koala on the head, Katie glanced up at Orlando as she left one of the bottles slip from under her arm, glad that it was just the lanky Gryffindor lion and it hadn't honestly begun to slip; though she wouldn't have known how it could have. Not only was his response the same as it had been since the beginning of term when she had broken the news to him, but he was avoiding direct eye contact. That wasn't unusual lately either, it just wasn't.. good. When he returned her question, Katie didn't say anything and pulled herself upright again, the other bottle still in hand. As Lando spoke up, her eyebrows raised a bit. His vague response had led her to believe he was going to make takling difficult, but here he was, finally opening up and really talking to her for the first time in months. All it took was for Legend's name to come up, and her dark eyes shifted onto the bottle she held, fixed on the itty bitty bubbles that swam inside the buttbeer, clinging to the sides of the clear surface. Finally, when he had finished and silence had fallen for a moment, Katie looked back up to meet his gaze. "You know, since as far back as we all became friends, I always had a rule about no dating within our group because it would affect us all. If something were to happen, if two friends broke up, it would leave us all at odds." She explained in the same quiet tone as before, offering a weak smile at the end. It was obvious, she had broken her own rules and what was worse was she had been right all along. It had affected the others too. Orlando did have a reason to be upset, Katie understood why he was. It was the same reason she would have been, had it been the other way around. "I don't want things to be awkward between us either. It did happen," Katie agreed, looking down for a moment as she took a deep breath. Her eyes, however, did not return to his. "And I'm sorry you were left in the middle of it. I knew better.." Trailing off, she shook her head. It didn't even matter now. Now she was the one subtly avoiding his eyes, her face turned to the side and gaze wandering toward the stables occupying baby abraxans, her hands spinning the bottle around slowly, absently. It was all she could do to keep a nuetral expression on her face, to keep trying to calm the battle raging within her mind and heart, and to fight the tears from forming; She couldn't drop her guard, couldn't allow it. Katie had to be strong, and simply let it go. If she kept this up, she would end up with another visit to a professors office, concerned about her education or her behavior, or both. Like last term. That wasn't an option. He wanted them to figure stuff out. The seventh year gave a small nod of her curly-haired head. "We already have," she murmured, "Legend suggested we forget about everything that happened between us and go back to being friends.. and I agreed." Katie gave a slight, helpless shrug of her shoulders as her dark eyes finally looked to Lando, only for a moment, and then gazed down to find Koala. Or just avoid Lando's gaze again. If she didn't, it was very likely she was going to cry. "Want to.. feed an abraxan now?" She gestured vaguely toward the multiple stable doors. |
The silence after his little speech was mean. Orlando did not like it. It annoyed him, it itched across his skin - making him want to do something. But he could nothing, he could just stand there - waiting for her to speak. When KT did start to speak, the itch, instead of going away just grew more. It was uncomfortable on many levels to talk about this all still. But the sixteen year old forced himself to stay and listen because he held too much respect for KT to bolt and leave her when she probably needed a friend most, even though she would say otherwise. She was epic strong like that. Seeing her small weak smile, Orlando offered her a warm smile too. "These type of things cannot be planned, KT" His words were soft. "And yes, it happened but I promise it does not affect us in any way. It made me sad but seeing you right now like this, I don't think I can continue being a moron like I have been since the past few weeks. You should not be apologizing, what so ever. I have been stupid and I am really sorry, KT" The Gryffindor paused, unsure of how to proceed. He had not planned to say what he had just said but he knew he meant it all. It may have not been intentional but that was exactly how Lando felt. His eyes fell on Koala sniffing around, when KT spoke again - it was more uncomfortable news. Even though he was probably the worst person to advice Legend and KT on what to do because of his dumb brain and all but still he felt like asking them was it seriously okay to forget it all? It just didn't seem right. Orlando did not fail to notice the expression KT was working so hard to keep intact. And now she was the one avoiding his eyes. He didn't really hear her wish to feed the abraxan because he was contemplating over his next move and words. Placing his hand over her shoulder, Orlando spoke clearly: "KT, I told you this last term and I am telling you again, I am here for you - even though you probably don't want to need me. As a friend or as a brother. But I always will be." With that, Orlando couldn't help but turn KT a little and pull her into a hug. The boy did not hug her like he usually did. He hugged her because she needed it, despite the fact that she would yet again say otherwise. For once, he hugged her only to let her know that she was not alone. "You are strong and stubborn at the same time, you know" he smiled a little, still hugging her. "But even the strong ones need us small people to remind them that they don't have to be so strong .. all the time" |
=3 Orlando was right. There was no denying that, Merlin knew how Katie had faught the funny feelings in the beginning, the butterflies fluttering in her stomach whenever Legend would smile at her or when he was around in general, when her thoughts started changing, becoming confused by the new feelings she couldn't possibly understand at the time. And when she had begun to understand, she faught it. Or, she tried to. In the end ignoring, fighting and finally accepting with the plans of never letting Legend know had crumbled, because their friendship was crumbling too. Katie knew all too well how matters of the heart could not be planned. That would be too simple. And that wouldn't be real love. When Lando promised her that it didn't affect their friendship, what happened between her and Legend, and that he was sorry, the curly-haired seventh year had tears stinging her eyes which she tried to carefully blink back and pretend they weren't there, hoping Lando wouldn't notice either. She remained quiet, almost speechless in a way. She had words running through her mind, things that she wanted to tell him; that he wasn't being stupid nor a moron or anything of the sort, that he had a right to feel however he felt about her and Legend's break up and that she understood, and that all she really wanted was for them to talk again. None of that came out, however. Katie couldn't seem to find her voice for the moment, reaching up the hand that wasn't still holding the bottle to brush away an escaped tear. And then, as he spoke up again, Katie felt his hand on her shoulder. Her lips quivered and she pressed them together, still trying not to cry despite the tenderness of Lando's words. On the inside, she was breaking. All it took was for the Gryffindor boy to turn her and take her into his arms, for her guard to finally fall completely and without a moment of hesitation, her smaller arms wrapped firmly around him. It was sort of funny how Lando knew exactily what to do, exactily what she needed in that moment. It was just for someone to hold her and be there, like Julian always was. To be hugged and reminded that she wasn't alone. The tears that had been stinging her eyes mercilessly fell freely, slowly making trails down her reddened cheeks. It was Lando's last statement, that managed to bring out a shaky little laugh from the rather short Hufflepuff. "There's nothing small about you, Lando." The boy had grown so much, he was in no way the same little eleven year old she had found, seperated from his mother in Diagon Alley. No. Orlando had grown into a tall, lanky, sweet young man with a heart that had to be too big for his body. And yes, he was very much a brother to her as much as he was her best friend. The moment of laughter was over practically before it even happened, and as a pause of silence fell, the seriousness of the topic returned. "I lied to him." Katie murmured, squeezing her eyes shut. "I tried to forget the moment she kissed him. I tried to forget for months because it would have been easier to forget anything ever happened, it would have hurt less to not remember.." She shook her head, a fresh wave of tears forming caused her to keep her eyes closed tightly, as if that would help. "But I can't. I tried, I told him I would, but I don't want to forget, Lando.." She just wanted it to stop hurting, to be around him and it be okay again. Like when they were kids. "I.. I.." Biting her lower lip to keep the words from coming out, Katie buried her face in Lando's chest, her unruly curls bouncing as she gave a tiny shake of her head. |

Al!!!!! Connor walked into the stables and fixed a bottle of butterbeer for his favorite young Abraxan. "Hey there Thunder. Did you miss me boy?" He asked as the young creature swished his tail. "I brought you some carrots." He reached in his pocket for the carrots and began feeding them to the winged horse. |

The stable seemed like a good place, but...she never dared take photos of the animals before. You never know when one animal is overly sensitive to photographs. As she entered, she heard and noticed a familiar figure, feeding a winged horse. She beamed. She'd know that person anywhere. "Big brother!" she called out. No way, not yet, she didn't want to run towards him and glomp him-the anime he was with might attack her if she did. any sudden movements are vital. |

Hearing Heather call to him he smiled. "Come on in Little one, Come meet my friend Thunder. He won't hurt you, he's just a big ole baby." He smiled and gave the horse some of the baby bottle of butterbeer to prove it. |
how did 'animal' become 'anime'?? Weird. xD Quote:

"a letter from auntie?" technically, she should call Mizuki 'big sis' but...auntie was more preferred by the child. "what did she say?" she asked and finished petting the animal. "Uhm...i might be a little too heavy, big brother." One little girl on a sugar diet, with a pocketful of sweets and chocolate frogs should be heavy enough. "You can put me down." she finished with a smile. |
