The ancient schooner stands tall in the dark water, although there is a definite list to the mast and sails that belie its age. After all these years hidden in or around the lake, the ship is in remarkably good condition, although the lower decks drip with water and something rather green and slimy. If not for the age and apparent solitude of the ship, it would appear the crew had just departed, even going so far to leave the gangplank lowered to provide access to the main deck.

The main deck is cluttered in a way no captain would approve. Bits of knotted rope, lank strands of the shredded sail, and abandoned cannon balls that seem to have taken root to the deck would have tripped up a sailor in bygone days. They are the only artifacts left of those hearty men now. A rope ladder twists uselessly in the rigging - wonder if the crow's nest can still be reached?

Just a few steps above the main deck, the steering wheel is knotted into place with a moldy length of rope. It's impossible to know where these sailors were headed, but they've been sailing in one direction for a very long time indeed. Propped against the railing behind the wheel is a marlinespike, a nasty pointed thing that was someone's weapon or tool... or both.

Beneath the quarterdeck, a gaping doorway leads to the captain's quarters. Decrepit maps, a rusted quadrant, and a compass sit on the captain's desk, but the most interesting artifact is probably the old tricorne hat propped against the chair. Wherever the man went, his head is bare. The bed and wardrobe in the corner could give you more clues about the man who lived here, but the best clue is the log book folded closed on the chair - Captain's Log for the Dead Wizard's Trove.

Below the main deck, you will find the hold and sailor's quarters. Kegs of powder are scattered with a few ancient gold coins, Galleons by the look of them, but there is no further indication as to what the ship once carried. Was the ship a merchant ship? Privateers? Or pirates?

Salander rapped his knuckles against the barrel again "Well Rum is even better when its really old..." he grinned mischievously, trying to hear if the barrel sounded filled with the sweet drink. It sounded... like it was empty, or at least filled with something else that wasnt liquid. Heaving a sigh he started to follow Simon exploring the lower deck when he started to sniff the air. There is a distinct odor around here "You smell that? 'Familiar but I couldnt quite recall what its supposed to be." Its strong, whatever it is.

That could not be good not at all. Finlay would need to teach that boy to be more careful with things. Or else he wouldn't be allowed to come back onto his ship. Couldnt' have him breaking the thing with his clumsiness.

"Oh...." How on earth had that happened. Surely Finlay should be a higher rank seeing as he was the headboy. That was totally not good. Oh whatever. They were only playing, and it wasn't like the ship could move. Waaiit. Finlay had to clean. "I'm the Captain. I don't clean." He made people clean. Finlay glanced down at the main deck again, before pointing at someone. "You therree!" Oh...it looked like it was Kyle from the yearbook. "Come do some cleaning for your Captain!" She was probably going to look at him look he was mental but oh well.

"There we go...got myself a cleaner."

It had been a very long summer, especially considering Eino's early leave due to health issues, but he was very glad to have returned. As he wondered through the grounds he noticed the infamous ship he had heard so much about and decided to take a quick look. "It looks quite ordinary." He said as he examined it with his hands on his waist. "Hmmm..." He contemplated the option of going on board and exploring its contents, but he both lacked the courage to do it alone and didn't want to suffer the consequences. "It's a curious thing that a ship should rest idle for so long."

The real problem was, you see, the bear took my arm, so we had to find it before it could be reattached to my body. It was also quite damaged with bite marks and such when it was retrieved." It was better now, in fact, it looked like it had prior to the attack. "It happened during winter break, and just recently it healed entirely. I suppose it was fair. The bear was playing with a pogrebin, well a rock, which would surely turn into a pogrebin and eat it, so I took it from him, then he took my arm." He reached for his pocket. "But I won! I have my arm back and the rock!" He pulled the rock from his pocket. "It turned out it's an ordinary rock, but I didn't want to risk it."

Kurumi's jaw dropped and she staaaaaaaaaaaared at Eino. "A-A-A bear took your WHAT?!" Not waiting for further confirmation, Kurumi grabbed Eino's left arm and inspected it. Nothing. Dropping it rather forcefully to Eino's side, she snatched his right arm and inspected it as well. Nothing.

Kurumi didn't know much about wizarding medicine, but the one trip she had taken to the hospital wing last term when here and Hugo had been attacked by the man-eating plant in the Herbology greenhouse had ended well.

Kurumi then looked at the rock. Really? He had kept the rock? As a memento for the entire incident? That begged the question as to whether or not he had named it, but Kurumi was a bit too afraid to ask.

"Well, I am so glad that you are back," she smiled nodding her head and putting his other arm down. "I am sure Walnut will be too. He has run off somewhere, I'm afraid."

Kurumi looked at the rock again. When Eino said he was curious, did he mean that he was curious as to why he walked around with a rock in his pocket, because she certainly was.

"Do you want to check out the ship? Father told me he may be doing a piece on it for the Daily Prophet. He works part time there now."

Sophie was checking out a very old sail and stray cannon ball when someone spoke behind her answering her question. Glancing around her eyes landed on a brown haired badger that seemed a little older than say a first year. "That’s good I think. But an old ship like this must have some secrets if not skeletons lying around right?" If someone were to find something important they’d probably holler. Further up the deck the Ravvie Qudditch captain was decked out like a pirate and swinging a sword around causing most people to take a wide step around and past him. Sophie straightened up asked the other girl "Want to explore some part of the ship together? I’m Sophie by the way. Gryffie prefect and you are?" She added the last bit in thinking that it was better to get that over with.

He actually hadn't gone to a hospital but been treated by his grandparents instead, which is the reason why it took months for him to be healed. Not that he could remember, he had been unconscious for most of the time. After that his parents forbade him to go back to Finland unless it was with their company, so now Eino would have to spend all of his time in England. Sigh. "I am glad to be back too and with my arm. I suppose it would be very hard to live without it." He couldn't wait to go back to classes, and see his friends. He had really missed Hogwarts. "Oh, I can't wait to see Walnut! And everyone else!" Flicking her gaze at Eino's left arm once more half expecting there to be some sort of gaping hole or splinched like scarring there, but no matter how much she looked, there was nothing. Which was a good thing. Eino needed to be in one piece...unlike Faustus who she had found as a pile of broken pottery, dirt, and smooshed plant a week after Eino had been taken out of school.

Hopefully Eino had forgotten about that incident...

"Wait!" Sierra called out, glancing over just in time to overhear a boy about her age mention going in. She stepped over a few pieces of tangled rope to catch up to the boy before he went down the hatch. "I'll go down, too." She looked at the boy a few more seconds and then turned to Treyen. "Treyen?" In other words, step on it and come with us!

But he reverted his attention to Elise with a smirk and an offer of his scrawny elbow, "Belowdecks?"

Arabella-Marie was looking about the ship and noticed that it was brimming full of students and even the headmaster was here and the qudditch professor and she was scared that if she tripped that she could do some damage to herself but she really wanted to explore more but she was pretty scared

Hufflepuffs were funny people. The odd kind of funny. You know the relative at the family dinner you just pet on the head when they do something completely dumb and you tell them they're precious? That's what Hufflepuffs reminded Elise of. She took Salamandrius' elbow and nodded. "Of course. Do you have a nickname? Salamandrius is quite a long name and most people with long names have nicknames. Thankfully I was given a short name, no nickname needed." Oh but you could shorten practically any name if you tried hard enough. Elise was a bit harder to shorten though. Someone once made the mistake of calling her Ellie when she first started school. Needless to say that was how Elise received her first detention.

Eino had been out of the loop. He had no idea they had new professors, and that they were ministry officers. So the ministry had brought the ship to the school? Maybe they had heard about Y.W.H.O. and sent the ship so they could load it up with all the pogrebins they had found on the grounds and send them to the ministry so they could be dealt with. "So they gave us permission to board it?" Or had they just not prohibited them to do so? A new professor for DADA? "Who is it?" Eino wasn't particularly familiar with ministry officers, but some were definitely famous and it would be interesting to have a famous ministry member teaching in Hogwarts.

"You want to explore the ship with me?"

in between her offer, she remembered she had taken a photo of arabella. She took the photo out of her pocket and gave it to the girl. "Oh yeah, i took your photo by accident...but you look really pretty in this shot. It thought you might want to keep it." she said, smiling at her.

Arabella-Marie smiled and said "I know i would have thought so as well and sure i would love to explore with you Heather" Arabella-Marie took the photo and said "Thanks Heather i would love to keep this picture"

He drew them towards the open hatch, and as vocal as he was about the state of disrepair and dirt, he was obviously quite curious to find out what was inside. If there was anything worth finding.

"After you." he told Elise, moving slightly to the side so she could make her way down.

"I think so," she said shrugging her shoulders a bit. "I've seen professors and students getting on it." That was proof enough for her at the moment.

"Have you ever heard of someone called Lord Borr?" Kurumi asked. Eino seemed to be in the loop with the comings and goings of the wizarding world, so there was a good chance. "He invited you to a party last term, myself as well, but you had already left school by then. He is the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. A man from the Norwegian Ministry is here as well, as the Ancient Runes professor. Then...there's Shaw. Just Shaw...and he brought a chainsaw to class..."

And it had been frightening beyond belief.

"what do you think they have on this ship?" heather asked. she thought for awhile; thinking there are so many areas they could go to in this big ship. she turned to Arabella. "Where would you like to go and explore first?"

Arabella-Marie thought and said "I don't know maybe treasure that has been with the ship for a long time and i think maybe we should search below decks if your not scared of the dark Heather"

Maybe only some professors and selected students could go? Or only accompanied by professors? Why would they have a ship out here anyway. Plus, if it was dangerous it would be guarded, so it was probably safe to board it and explore it. "We should go then." He said finally. Although, what if it set sail while they were on it?

Lord Borr? "As in Berty Borr? I have seen him before in the newspaper." The name stuck in Eino's head because it was catchy and fun to say over and over again. The man looked very unpleasant though. "I have never met him, though. I suppose someone with that name ought to be very chipper." Eino was surprised to hear he had been invited to a party. Silly Faustus was still lost, somewhere, and not delivering letters as he was supposed to. "Dear me, I hadn't the slightest idea. Do you suppose he thinks me rude for missing his party?" Eino really should send him a late notice of his absence. More than one? "Another ministry professor? With a chainsaw?" He sounded lovely.
