Matt stared at her. Seriously. Seriously. "W-w-what?" He frowned, his tongue pressed to the side of his cheek. The thought hadn't really crossed his mind. Not ever. She was...a girl. A GIRL. The mere thought of being into her repulsed him. The only crush he'd ever had was on TV stars and singers, people he knew he would never meet. But on a person he knew? He wrinkled his nose. "That's disgusting." he said with a small laugh. "Whatever gave you that idea?"

He shrugged, with a small smile. "Welcome." It was a bit nippy. He placed his hands under his bum, in an attempt to keep them warm.

Zara's face had a smug smile on it. Clearly, she was on to something. Probably planning on playing cupid on Matt and Nessie? "Disgusting? You were blushing the day she hugged you!" Then she raised her right eyebrow, teasing. After that, Zara looked up in the sky innocently, whistling.

"You sure you don't want your scarf back? You tug on it all the time." She asked, unsure.

"Of course I was blushing! Have you ever had a conversation with me when I haven't blushed? ...I'm like a human tomato." He wrinkled his nose again, eyebrows knitted together in a tight frown. He blew upwards, dislodging his fringe from his eyes. "Why you so interested anyway?" he said, nudging her teasingly with his elbow, an amused expression on his face.

Matt raised his eyebrows, before grabbing the tail of the scarf that was closest to him and putting his over his shoulder, around his neck. He grinned. "There you go! Now we're both protected from the cold." He winked and leant back against the bark at his shoulderblades.

'Have I ever had a conversation with him that he hasn't blushed?' Zara thought. She never remembered him blush, ever. Except for that one time at the lake. Probably, she needed to sharpen her observing skills. "I, uh, guess so?" She said, unsure again, maybe he blushed before without her noticing.

As Matt nudged her teasingly, Zara blinked consecutively in disbelief. 'ME? Interested? NOOOOOO WAAAAAAAAAY. Not a hundred million chances! No no! Just no. NO!' She shouted in her head, almost wondering if she was shouting it out loud. She opened her mouth to speak, nothing came out. She exhaled instead and closed it back. 'Am I interested? No, why would I be?' Her eyebrows knitting together also, frustrated with her confused mind. Why can't she make up her mind? With her eyebrows still knit together, she raised one of them, still debating with herself. 'Hmph, never mind! This is making my head burst.' And so she left that thought in one side of brain and locked it up. She'd have to think that one over later, not now.

She smiled at Matt. "Yeah, I guess we are. Feeling okay there?" Then switched her position, and hugged her legs instead. She began rocking back and forth. She always does that, wonder why. Hm. Then she faced her cheek against one of her knees, her face looking at Matt.

"Heeeey." He waved his hand in front of her face. "You okay there?" She'd sort of zoned out a bit. Weird. He did that sometimes though, he supposed. It was odd. Her face went all "thinky". He wondered what she was thinking about. Probably food. He thought about food a lot. His stomach rumbled as if in agreement, and he patted it into silence. He wasn't really hungry, just..peckish. But he was always peckish so it made no difference really. See? He was thinking about food again. Typical.

He nodded, biting his lip, a small tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Yeah." He met her gaze. "We ok now? 'Cause, I'm not mad anymore.." He frowned a little. "Are you still mad? 'Cause I'm sorry." He looked down, sheepishly.

Zara's eyebrows met each other again. 'But, why was he mad?'

"Yeah, of course we're okay. Probably it's just a silly quarrel. I've heard someone talk to me about it. About how she and his brother shout at each other all the time and fight. Wonder if it's the same." Then she changed positions again, her face only though. She placed her chin above her knees, looking ahead. Somewhere out there, it was getting dark. The sun wasn't anywhere in sight. Zara sighed, thinking again, probably. Was Matt like her brother? She's always wanted a brother, and envied those who had. Ella was lucky to have five. Maybe Matt could be her brother. They've had a fight, she's always heard about brother and sister fighting. Matt and Zara fought, it counted as one right?

Then she turned to face Matt again, "I've always wanted a brother," she admitted, her voice as soft as ever.

Kita smiled. It was nice to know that there are nice people around. And! On the plus side: she didn't feel too sad as she said it this time! Saying things like this definitely helps. At least to her. "Yeah... well, life goes on," she said, shrugging, "And i was really, very small when he died so it didn't affect me too much." Did it? Didn't it? Who knows.

But then something about Dani's family swooped back into Kita's head. "Wait..." she started, "Do you live in France? Like, during the summer holidays?"

"It does- oh... well, It's good that you think about him" Dani said honestly as she shrugged a little- she smiled comfortingly at the very sweet Kita.
"Well, we have a house both here and in France. The parents are living here at the moment, I'm staying here over summer I think" Dani sighed as she swung back and forth on the swing. "But we do spend a lot of time there" she smirked. "I love France" she said softly. "My Dad's from Paris" she said softly.

Kita smiled and nodded. "Yeah..." she said, trying to keep a brave face. Pssh! Talk about hard! There's a reason why she wasn't in Gryffindor. She shook her head and smiled.

"Oh! That's quite cool, you know," she said, "Two houses! So if you didn't want to stay in Britain one summer, you can just head off to France and you'll have somewhere to live!" Not that Dani is likely to just head off to France like that. At least, Kita hoped not. "Paris? Oh, stop making me jealous!" she said, tutting and fake-sighing.

" So done yoru homework for History of Magic or Arithromancy?" Wiliam asked Zara. So hanging around thinking is good for me?" William asked Zara.
" So i should just pick one girl based on more than looks?" Willaim asked Zara. " You are right and I do have a girlfreind now" William's smile lit up. " She is sweet, caring , smart and really cute, she is in Gryffindor, older than me and her name is......... Witsy" William explained to Zara.

Samira blinked. Wow. This sure was a chatty one. The Slytherin immediately discarded all thoughts and hopes that this was a quiet first year. Buuuuut, there was no need to be rude. Samira looked over at the other girl and gave a tight smile. "Hello Tara." She inclined her head. "Nice to meet you, too. I'm Samira Sapphire Spinks." Geez, lots of questions! Samira ran them all over in her head, and answered them one by one. "I," Samira gave a small smirk to the little Hufflepuff. "Am in Slytherin." She said this with a proud gleam in her eyes, showing how much she valued and honored being a part of Slytherin the best House there was Samira cleared her throat. "So, how are you liking Hogwarts?" She tried to make conversation, maybe talking would tire the hyper Puffer out.

A present.

He knew exactly what that meant, even if her tone of voice hadn't made it obvious. He didn't have any siblings, but he was known as quite the prankster. Obviously he knew what that meant. And he was perfectly fine with it. "Do any of your sisters go here?" he asked, smirking.

A smirk which quickly turned into a huge smile when he laughed at what she said. He took a while to laugh as well. It was funny. A donkey? Hahahahahahahaha-



"Of course," he said finally, completely straight faced. "It's happened to me a couple times. I've had to walk around with Pebbles hanging on my finger until I happened to come across a donkey. Do you know how hard it is to find a donkey where I live? That's why I always have to be doubly careful at school. It's even harder to find a donkey here."
He nodded in a convincing manner. If there was another thing he was great at, it was making people believe crazy stories.

"No, I'm not yet done with them. It seems kinda hard to think about. Need a few days or more." She said and pouted slightly. Maybe later or tomorrow, she'd start on it. "Yeah, it's good for you." She smiled.

Witsy? It seems familiar if you turn some letters around and make it Wisty. It sounds like Wisteria. Hmm. "Witsy?" Zara asked, but she was happy. Finally, William found someone, even though he's like eleven years young. "You mean..Wisteria?"

"Last time I checked, Hufflepuff was in last; Slytherin's right behind Ravenclaw which is actually quite interesting. We'll have to have a fight to the finish between the Snakes and the Eagles to see who's truly worthy of winning the House Cup this term. And of course it's always a huge battle for the Quidditch Cup, though I have a good feeling the Snakes will go for the sweep." Obviously Matt didn't want to jinx his house's chances, but he knew this term that he was going to do everything possible to make sure that Slytherin at least the House Cup.

Once Kyle had practically warned him of what would happen if he told Simon that she liked him, he fell over onto his back and laughed; that wasn't entirely something that he was scared of, it was just quite hilarious. "Wow, that's the best thing you could think of?" He said while still laughing, ah that definitely was awesome.

" Yes, the homework is not easy" Wiliam told Zara." Thanks for saying it is good for me" William said to Zara. " I mean Wisty, yes Wisteria" Wiliam explained to Zara." I still like you because you are a great friend" William smiled.

Kyle nodded true Ravenclaw had been lagging in the points last term because of people losing points at the end of term. The whole muggles on campus thing made Vindictus reduce and reduce and reduce their points...and people mouthing off to Professor Lafay - brilliantly stupid idea there.

"You are on - and are you by change trying out for the Quidditch team this year?" She asked with a smile.

And then he began to laugh as she threatened him. Yeah it was a funny threat not really a threat in general at all really. "Yeah I'm not one to threaten really" she admitted with a laugh. "Maybe i'll set Ginger on you?" She offered still laughing knowing Ginger actually liked Matt made things even funnier so it would just be a cat that fell asleep on him and nothing more.

She chuckled some more, "and don't worry I promise I will tell him - after try outs" she added with a smile knowing she needed to not distract him or herself before tryouts.

"I was going to but, I decided not too; I'm not really that great at playing. I mean, I did play Seeker at one point but I'm more of a liability to the rest of my team than an asset. I fly for fun really." Talking about Quidditch caused a few memories of trying to show off on his broom by doing backflips in the air and crashing into the ground at a ridiculous speed; Matt didn't want to play that sport anymore thanks to that particular incident, it was the main reason why he took up surfing instead since it encouraged him to be a complete idiot at times.

"You're going to set your cat on me now? I doubt Ginger would attack me, so that would be as amusing as sticking a bow in my hair permanently." He chuckled further, his sides hurting from laughing so much; so many ridiculous threats coming from the Ravenclaw, none of them meant to be taken seriously obviously.

"Yeah, thanks William. You're a great friend too." She said, as she slightly nodded in acknowledgement to him.

" Good, glad I can be a good friend to you" William told Zara. " I guess I will lwt you get back to your thoughts" William said to Zara. He likes Zara, but she can be so different at times, friendly, but not over freindly, yeat a good freind but who never wants help.

"Well, so far Hogwarts is lots of fun. How is Hogwarts for you?" Tara asked Samira.Tara gave a little grin as she started to speak,"I'm a first year. What year are you in?"Tara asked Samira as she moved her eyes in the direction of Samira's magizine. She looked back at Samira trying to hold back all the questions in her mind.I heard that most Slytherins aren't to nice to Hufflepuffs! Tara looked at Samira thinking that she was probably one of those quiet people. Tara gave a loud sneeze."AAAH, CHOOO!" Tara roared. "Excuse me. Sorry about that." Tara said frightened that this girl would get mad at her.

The walk from the castle out into the grounds was a quiet one. Evelyn didn't tend to say a lot. Well not to her anyway. She probably talked her head off to Destiny or Marie. But that was cool, Mia merely went with the flow and just went with whatever Ev wanted to do.

The treehouse came into view and Mia couldn't contain her excitement. She wanted to climb it. She hadn't gotten the chance last time it had been here. Her gaze shifted to Evelyn and she might have worn a slightly pleading look. "Looks like fun...doesn't it?"

The walk down to the grounds was nice in her opinion. There was no talking really, which meant no awkward conversations could have the chance to pop up, and she kinda liked walking in silence anyhow. It gave her time to think and enjoy the moment. Besides, she hadn't spoken to Mia in quite awhile. This was good. Friendship...bonding...stuff.

Hmm, what? "What?" she asked, glancing at Mia before realizing they were near the treehouse. "Oh, the treehouse. Yea, I suppose." When did that thing come back? "I went up there the last time it was built."

For a second there, Mia was tempted to roll her eyes at Evelyn. Seriously what could she have been thinking so hard about that she didn't even know where she was?

But none of that mattered now. Because Evelyn had been up in the treehouse. "You did?" Yeah Mia was not even going to hide her surprise on that one. "Well that's good." she said grabbing her friend by the arm and dagging her closer to the tree. "You can show me how it's done."

"Ah, I get that I don't know if I'm actually going to go out even though I signed the clip boards and all - i'm just, I don't know...I'm not sure how competitive I really am" She squirmed the Divinations class she had just sat through was making her nervous very nervous.

"Oh yes I'll sick my cat on you" she laughed, happily..."its far better than hurting someone causing them to have a good laugh" or be laughed at...but not in a bad way, in an thats an adorable cat thats sleeping on you way.

"Did I tell you what my cousin Hannah did?" Kyle asked, looking over to Matt she chewed her lip slightly before adding the bit of what she did. Or maybe she would wait, seeing as if she'd told him he'd know already and she wasn't one to want to bring it up everywhere.

What...why were people surprised when she said that?

"Yea..." she was almost didn't want to know what was going on through Mia's mind when she grabbed her by the arm, but then again, Evelyn didn't have her usual reaction when people invaded her space. Mia was a friend. It didn't count all that much towards her. However, she did recieve a reaction she gave to her friends only, instead of the usual scowl and glare she gave others, followed by crossing her arms and scoffing because she thought it was a stupid idea. "MIIAAAAAAAAA! I don't WANT to."

Mia got the whining Evelyn.
