"I... was," Helena said shyly, wrapping her arms around Viola.

She was... "Good?" She asked, with her eyes a bit wide. Well, no one has ever heard her singing, except for her mother, so she had no idea whether she was good or not. Because... she was always 'the best', in her mother's opinion. "Thanks," the girl mumbled, feeling her cheeks turn slightly pink.

"I'm good." Except for that silly list of tasks to do. "How about you?"

What better place to do DADA homework that you don't want to do other than the front of the school? Ugh. Homework. How Nika hates the word. She only does it in order to earn points for Gryffindor. By the looks of it they really need some and fast. Slytherin is starting to get ahead. That's horrible. If anyone Nika rather loose to the badgers. At least most of them are nice.

So now to do that homework. Nika took the list out of her pocket and glanced over it a couple times. What to do, what to do. Well.... Run. Ugh. How she hates the word even more than she hates "homework". Nika loves running as much as the next guy, but when it's without a purpose, especially when it's for homework. It's just awful.

She took in a deep breath and looked around. Better get it out of the way now than wait and leave it for later. So right. Running. Nika looked around and took out her water bottle from her bag. She put her bag in what looked like a safe spot as she started to run. She didn't have anything valuable in her bag anyways. Only a couple of textbooks that she has yet to open.

Run. Ugh. Run.

She took at least three small little breaks in between to sit and drink some water. By the time she finished her whole bottle was all done. Now to go and find some more water.

"You don't have to look so surprised." Viola grinned. "And, I think I'm going to skip this task." She really wasn't going to sing to anyone. She was terrible and definitely didn't want to embarrass herself. "No problem."

"Good. Just really stressing out about the Defence Against the Dark Arts assignment." Viola grimaced. "So, how far have you got?"

So... she was good at singing? Alright. If Viola said so.

"We can sing together," Helena said, trying to cheer her up. Besides, how bad could Viola be? And Mr. Borr didn't say anything about being good at singing.

Oh, she was thinking about the assignment too. "I've been... singing." And that was pretty much all. "And I can touch my toes."

Viola stared at her. "What? Are you kidding? I'm like the worst singer ever." She couldn't sing to save her life. Yeah, she was THAT bad. Viola smiled. "You can sing, if you want."

"Ah, great. Haven't you given the other tasks a thought? At all?" She asked, curiously.

Helena couldn't help but laugh at Viola's reaction. Eh, singing couldn't be that bad. But it was alright. However she wanted. "I don't -" think so, she wanted to say. "I've done that." No more singing. Probably just when she was alone. Somewhere far FAR away from the others.

The other tasks? "Not really. No." The girl shook her head, thinking about the other silly and useless things they had to do. Nooo thank you. "And you?" Helena was juuuust a little bit curious to know what had Viola done, but she knew that probably everyone did more than her.

Viola smiled when Helena started laughing. "Hey. I'm seriously that bad. At least, that's what I think." Viola grinned. "You're supposed to sing to someone else, if I'm not mistaken." If they were allowed to sing on their own, Viola would have done that. Yep.

"Ah. okay. Not even touching the toes, dancing...?" Viola asked, raising an eyebrow. Huh. "Well..I've kinda started with a few of the tasks." Yep, she had and it was okay. She wasn't looking forward to Karate, though.

Oh, yes. Viola was right, they had to sing to someone else. "But you've heard me singing. It's like I've been singing for you," Helena said, grinning. And yes, she looked kind of satisfied with her statement.

"I just said that I can touch my toes," she giggled. "As for dancing..." Urghhh.

Urghh. Seriously. Helena couldn't even think about that. She was... more than terrible.

"Nope. That doesn't hold. You need to sing in front of that person." Viola grinned, when Helena seemed to look slightly pleased. Ugh. Why was she so bad at singing? WHY?

"Oh yeah. Right. Didn't catch that." Viola muttered, turning pink. "Ah, you're not a good dancer?" Viola nodded, understanding. She was really bad as well.

"Oh yes, it does," Helena protested stubbornly. She was right and she was not going to let go until Viola agreed. Hehe. But... these protests weren't serious, you know? Because Helena couldn't stop herself from laughing.

At the girl's question about dancing, Helena had no idea what to say. She just shook her head quickly. Nope, not a good dancer at all. She was a natural disaster. Worse than that. "Do you dance?"

Ah. Now, Helena was being stubborn. "Well..if you say so." Viola grinned. "But, I still think you need to sing in front of someone. 'Cause your a pretty good singer."

Well, that was great. Both of them seemed to be really bad at dancing. "Umm..I like to dance but I don't dance well." Yeah. And, as far as the task went, she was going to dance with someone. She just hoped that she didn't mess it up.

HA! Sweet victory!

... even though Helena was pretty much sure that Viola said that just to make her shut up, she grinned back. But... she didn't mention singing again. Nope. She did that already, and Viola heard her. That counted.

"Do you want to... try?" To dance? Like... something classical and fancy, so they wouldn't have to look too ridiculous. You know, those classical types of dancing had fairly simple moves. Nothing too... funky? Silly? Uhh WHY couldn't Mr. Borr just come there and teach them proper DADA?

Yes, Nika was out here again. Out in the front of the school. With her coat on and a water bottle at the ready. It's time to run. Run a whole freakn' lot. She didn't want to. She rather stay in bed and sleep. These precious morning hours are meant for sleep not running. Who likes getting up and out of bed at 6:00AM to go running? Not Nika. That's a fact.

She had to force herself out of bed and practically drag herself to the bathroom to rinse her face with cold water to wake herself up. Now it's go time. She's here now. She's still tired. And she's mad. Mad that she has to go outside and run in the cold while others are sleeping in their warm comfortable beds.

She began running and even though it took a while for her to warm up she finally got to a decent pace. She would stop every now and then to get some water. When it seemed like the distance she was supposed to run was over she stopped and laid on the ground. She had her back in the grass as she closed her eyes and took a little nap.

Viola grinned but didn't say anything. Anyway, it didn't really matter. Viola heard her sing so yeah. It shouldn't be a problem.

Huh. Dance? "Can't we do something else?" She really didn't feel like dancing. At all. There were too many people around and she wasn't interested in having them stare at her or something. "Like, front rolls?" Viola asked, teasing her. She knew that Helena wouldn't do any.

"I thought you wanted to dance, since you said something about it," Helena said, grinning. Ah, even if they looked extremely ridiculous dancing, Helena was always trying to see the bright side. Everyone had to look ridiculous dancing. At least every dancing disaster, just like Helena.

But then... "No front rolls for me," the girl said firmly, shaking her head. Nope, nope, nope. No front rolls.

"Well, I like to dance but I'm not a good dancer. And, I'm not sure I want to dance now..with so many people around." Viola smiled at her. Although, she wasn't sure if she would have danced otherwise. Yep. She wasn't good. AT ALL.

LOL. "Yeah. I'm not going to do that either." What if she broke her bones in the process? Nope. Not at all. Ugh.

Jayce sighed and held out his arms for the puppy. What was he going to do with the little guy? He was most certainly not Opal and most definitely could not be trained as well as she was. Strangely enough, the dog seemed to be just as stubborn as Jayce, which didn't make his life any easier.

Continuing to rock back and forth, the boy paused as Eirian spoke and shook his head rather quickly. "I'd prefer that he didn't get his grubby little paws on anymore shoes. He'll never learn anything if you always give him what he wants." Especially not manners, nor the fact that shoes are not meant for eating but for wearing.

Whaaaa? What was she talking about? The boy grew rather confused rather quickly. "What do you mean? Get sick from the shoes?" That's what he assumed at least, "Well, he doesn't always eat them exactly.. He tends to tear them to pieces. But occasionally he will and when he does.. Let's just say it isn't very pretty." Or much fun to clean up.

"Hm?" It had only been a moment, but the boy had already forgotten.

Eirian's ears heard, but she did't process the words entirely. "Sim... That would be good..." Dog. Eating grass... Vomiting... Right. That'd be in the Gryffindor Boys' Dormitory, she she didn't care all too much. If she didn't have Jay as a friend, she'd probably be encouraging Woody to eat more. There was nothing better than biological warfare. Would that qualify..? Maybe. "Sim." Again, eww... "He can go through my wardrobe if he wants shoes. I really do not like the ones that I brought to school. The good ones are back at my grandmother's." Only the manor was now Eiri's, and her grandmother was dead. It... wasn't something she wanted to own up to.

"You forgot?" Siiiiigh. She had wanted to know what he had to say. Though, it didn't seem to be really important.... It couldn't be what she was waiting for. "Well, I... There is not much going on with me. School, you know. I am actually trying. And thinking! I have been thinking... About the future..."

Septimus trudged down to the front gate. He sat on the ground, paying no mind to his surroundings. All he needed to do was take his mind off things. He took out his note book and started drawing...um... "Artist's block," he said to himself.

"Ah.." Cass simply said as she kept her head down, she couldn't look him in the eyes, not when she felt this way. She felt like she wasn't good enough, like she was ugly and all that crap. And she didn't like it one bit. No one had the right to make her feel that way, she was Cassandra Prewett, merlin's sake!

Then she looked back up with a new fierceness in her eyes, she wouldn't let him see, nope, that would be stupid. "I see." She continued before keeping quiet once again as she searched for something else to say. "Anyway, I better be heading back to the common room, its getting a bit...cold out here." Then she turned towards the door, but stopped right before she got in and turned to Christopher "Good luck, and have a nice life." Then she stepped inside the castle and headed down to the dungeons.

"Alright. No dancing," Helena said with a nod, grinning. She didn't quite want to dance either, but she'll probably do that... someday. There was no rush with the tasks. Not for Helena. And Viola had a point. There were too many students around who could watch them.

"Do you think he'll ever show up here? Mr. Borr?" Because Helena wondered whether he was going to check if they were doing anything or not.

Ah. Thankfully, Helena agreed. Viola didn't want to do dance in front of so many people. Ugh. Embarrassing.

"Lord Borr? Nope, I don't think so." Viola was sure that Lord Borr was least bothered about what went on at school. And, as for the assignment.."You know, this whole assignment makes no sense. How does it serve the purpose of defending yourself against dark magic?"

Helena thought so. That Mr. Borr didn't plan to show up... soon.

And... did she say that the assignment made no sense? "Of course it makes sense," Helena said, faking a serious face. "Maybe we're supposed to roll into a dementor," if they had the misfortune of meeting one, "or sing until its ears bleed." Alright, Helena couldn't even fake being serious.

Kyle wasn’t normally the girl to hang out near the front gates - nope not at all. Still, that was exactly what “Crazy Kyle” was doing. The snow crunched with every step, it was nice when it crunched and didn’t sloosh - because slooshing snow more often then not made her fall on her bum and then her bum would hurt. And she’d be a mess.

Stopping right before the front gate, she lifted her head up to the sky, opened her mouth and stuck her tongue out catching a snow flake on her tongue. Most simply stuck to her eye lashes. Giggling - which she almost never did (lie). She let herself fall back into a large pile of snow the cold powder flying out around her like a halo. She immediately began to move her legs and arms up and down and side-to-side and making a lovely and not too brilliant looking snow angel. But, she was having fun.

And fun was what snow was for.

Caroline was just taking at walk on the grounds just enjoying the snow. Winter time was her favorite times of the year, Christmas time. She had just finished wrapping other the presents for everyone. Which had taken quite along and she needed at good walk. She actually made it all the way to the front gate. Where she seen her Ravenclaw best friend. laying in the snow making a snow angel. Grabbing up some of the snow in her hand, she balled it up, and cocked her arm back to throw the snowball. "KYLE. Heads up!" She threw the snow ball and it flew right past Kyle's head, she wasn't going to aim it straight at her head She'd save the perfect aim for someone else

The start of December meant the weather transiting from cool to cold. There were bits and piles of snow sheeting the grounds and, Jared reflected as he sat down by the Front Gates, leaning against the tall wall that sported them, hands behind head and posture relaxed and sort-of-lazy, it was a good time to be alone.

There were certain things that he needed to sort out.

Certain... feelings.
