Selina ran her hand through her red hair and could feel the snow flakes on her finger tips. Her eyes met Nika's and she answered, "Nothing much. Just got back from the owlery, had to mail a letter to my Dad. I miss him so thought I'd reach out and say hello since our last letter was... interesting. What about you?"

Nika nodded and giggled thinking about how bad she was with sending letters with owls. "I've only been up in the owlry three times and one of them was to send my own letter. I think it would be easier if wizards have emails. I can't figure out how to send an owl for my life! Some first year had to help me." She said chuckling. "Well, nothing really. Just been doing some homework and going out by the lake."

He missed.

*Blink*

Well that was a complete and utter failure then wasn't it? He spat the apple back out but he had completely missed his target. Well apart from her foot but it literally bounced off the end of her toes. She watched its path, staring down at her foot and then looking back up at the boy with an eyebrow raised. "That didn't go as well as you expected did it?" she giggled as she kicked it away and then exploded it using her wand. Skills that was. "I'm not mean, you just simply misunderstood me and got on my nerves. I'm not a witch for no reason, I have a wand so I use it" she stated simply.

Her head tilted. To be honest he looked no older than she was. "Well what year are you in, because I certainly am quite young, I'm only thirteen years of age" she stated as she crossed her arms and smirked. "Just because I'm a little bit taller than you are doesn't mean that I'm any less believable" Queue smirk.

His expression was hilarious. The confusion on his face when she faked cry. Yes, drama she could do.

"He tried to hurt me so I had to defend myself" she pretended to sob, her bottom lip quivering and quaking "And I thought an apple would mean that his words couldn't hurt me. See, if he had been able to s-speak, he would have used his w-wand on me and he would have cursed me, I didn't know what to do" she cried back.

"Pirates? Everyone knows that there are no such thing as pirates and they are only here to SCARE silly little boys like you" she rolled her eyes at him. "I think we should go to the Library first, see if there is anything in the books like a treasure map or.. or a clue" she stated excitedly. "Or if there is any history on buried treasure in Hogwarts" she nodded once at him and then started heading away indicating for him to follow.

Selina blinked a few times, e-mail? Nika was Muggleborn? She had always assumed that she was at least a Half-Blood from the way that she spoke about magic and school. It had never occured to her that Nika could be from the Muggle World, "You're a Muggleborn?"

Shaking her head trying not to be rude Selina said, "Really that sounds interesting."

Huh. Although he could be rather degrading towards females, this kid was actually pretty alright. Plus the third year was in desperate need of friends. Guy friends, to be exact. He felt a little weird only having girls as friends. Especially when most of them were all younger. "Friends it is!" Christopher chuckled.

"I am pretty dorky, I will admit," He said, laughing again. "You see William, it isn't making friends with girls that's the problem. I've got plenty of those." He shook his head, sighing. "It's that I just don't fit in well with the guys. I presume that's the same for you?" William had seemed to be in the same position, so Christopher hoped he wasn't coming off as rude. He was just trying to make conversation with Will too.

" Cool, we are friends" William told Christopher. " I do not consider you dorky" William said to Christopher. " You and I have the same problem, easy to be friends with girls, but hard to make freinds with guys" William expalined to Christopher. " I have changed and do not flirt with girls anymore, but I still like girls" Wiliam laughed.

Nika raised an eyebrow when Selina questioned her about her blood status. For most people it was the first thing they asked Nika because they thought it was so obvious. She was always so oblivious to everything magic, though she liked to pretend like she knew about it all. Hehe. "Yeah, I wish I wasn't though because it's sort of hard to keep up with what everyone's always talking about." Not to mention her parents were and still are a bit concerned about what she's doing at hogwarts.

Selina scratched the back of her awkwardly. She hated to be stereotypes, but sometimes they seeped through everything she tried to avoid. And the one stereotype she hated was the way Magical families always thought lesser of Muggleborn families. In no way did Selina believe that at all, but whenever she found out about people who were circumstances she felt awkward. "Right. That's cool..."

Nika shrugged awkwardly. She felt as though there was something wrong. There conversation was going pretty well until this point where it sort of just became for lack of better words, awkward. Nika opened her eyes widely realizing what was happening. Was Selina was one of those people who didn't like muggleborns?! She shouldn't have brought it up. Why did so many people here hate muggles? She thought Selina would be different, but given her awkward reaction Nika didn't know better than to think that she was against them too. Last term in one of their classes there was a debate about muggles and whether they should be looked down on or not.

She looked at Selina and then broke the silence. "Are you going to tell me you hate muggles? I've heard it all before there really is no reason to tell me about how ignorant you guys think they are." If Selina really did believe that muggles were inferior then she would say something. Nika wasn't sure what point Selina would be taking but whatever it was Nika didn't want another episode of the "muggles are horrible and ignorant" speech.

Selina shook her head rigorously at Nika's comment. She didn't mean that at all. Out of all the Wizarding families Selina knew hers was very tolerant and loved everyone who was good to them and disliked everyone who was not. In Selina's book Nika was a good friend so therefore her blood status didn't matter.

"No, no! Not that at all! I don't care about your blood status at all! I just didn't know you were Muggleborn is all. Why should that matter? I don't care at all."

Breathing out into the ice air her breath turned out als fume right in front of her.That was definitely one of the weird things winter did to you."I knooow and its already mid term",the girl nodded,"actually we are going to leave in a few months.Thats soo weird."Three years had almost passed since she had gotten her for the first time.Wow."Oh my Chirstmas was amazing",the girl nodded,"i stayed here too.I always celebrate here with my two best friends."It was a nice tradition,even though the Slytherin couldnt help but think that Nika didnt stay here too happily...

Legend's hand traced over the sharp metal designs of the schools old trusted gate. Who knew what kind of old magic was put upon the gate to keep out intruders and to keep in children. Legend would think that Hogwarts was like a prison but...the place wasn't evil...and it didn't make him work out...at least only Borr did.

At the thought of the new DADA professor, Legend sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. Working out. That was getting really annoying. He was getting good and doing front rolls now and maybe even a little better at dancing, but that was all really. He didn't know karate so he just looked stupid doing it and taking to himself in a mirror? Ridiculous.

"Do you think it'll be scary to leave?" Legend said, turning his head to the smaller Hufflepuff.

Scary? Katie wouldn't have believed that word was in Legend's vocabulary, but here he was using it to describe life after Hogwarts. Leaving his side and stepping closer to the gate, the young woman turned to face to face him again, carefully leaning back against the cold metal, her hands moving behind her as she considered his question. Her dark eyes focused on watching him as she thought, but only for a moment before turning her gaze away.

"In some ways, yes." Katie answered, giving the slightest shrug of her shoulders. "I don't know how I feel about leaving Danny and Orlando here without any of us, or.. about not returning again. And then, it's not like we can stay here forever. Theres only so many things we can accomplish here. I don't think being out in the world will be any more frightening than Hogwarts has been in the past seven years, just.. different."

Different was probably an understatement, and what Katie failed to mention and continued to burry deeper were her worries and fears of how different life after Hogwarts was really going to be. Savannah and Alexis had made it through graduation. They were still happy. It couldn't be that bad, in theory. But they still had each other.. would they? Would all of them still stick together after school was over with? Or was this the end? Katie wasn't so sure.

Nika let out a sigh. It was a relief knowing that she wasn't against muggleborns. "Thank goodness." She chuckled as she said it. "It's just that some people here think that muggles are horrible and stuff." She admitted knowing that Selina probably knew that already. It was nice to know that not all wizards thought that way though. "They are just people like you and me." She said with a small nod.

She wanted to change the subject because she could tell that it was probably going to go no where. "So how's Quidditch?" She asked knowing that it was Selina's favorite sport and that the second year played it regularly. "Do your parents play?" She wasn't sure but she had a hunch that they might. Who else would get Selina so into the sport.

Nika nodded as she looked around at the snow. "Isn't that crazy!? Time flies by so fast!" Especially the time at Hogwarts. Maybe it was because they were always having fun or that she didn't want time to go on, but it always did anyways. "Oh, who'd you celebrate with?" She asked Fee. She knew that Fee said her two best friends, but she wanted to know who. It wasn't as if she really wanted to know badly it's just that they had some time to kill and it would make a little conversation. "So what did you do? Enjoy the christmas feast?"

Selina nodded nervously at Nika who had gone from furious to fine in a matter of two seconds, "Yeah, um, so anyway I totally understand where your coming from. Growing up my parents always told me that you accept people for who they are. Trust me I know better than most about popular opinion from growing up in the Wizarding World. People can be mean, but I promise that I'm not one of those people."

She sighed a sigh of relief when Nika changed the subject. She scratched the back of her head, "Um, yeah, my Dad is a Quidditch player... he's... Jake Skylar," she flinched waiting for the scream. Jake Skylar was the most famous Chaser in all of British Quidditch as the main Chaser for the Folwmouth Falcons. He was voted Witch Weekly's Best Looking Quidditch Player of the Year five years running, a title that made Selina very uncomfortable, and was a Quidditch player most Quidditch fans had a poster of in their bedrooms.

Nika nodded with a small smile. It was reassuring to know that Selina wouldn't judge her. It would have been really hard to be friends with her if she did, but Selina was better than that. "Thanks." She said suddenly. After all most of the other second year lionesses were never around and so Nika had to stay close to Selina. She didn't mind though because the red head was easy to get along with.

Nika's mouth formed an "O" shape when Selina nodded. "That's really cool!" Of course she had no idea who this guy was, but by the way Selina sounded this guy must be really famous. Too bad Nika didn't really keep up with Quidditch. "So do you go and watch his games regularly?" She asked raising an eyebrow. "I would watch Quidditch over the holidays, but I don't think our cable gets wizard sports." She laughed a bit as she admitted this.

Selina was visibly shocked when Nika didn't know who her father was, then again it made perfect sense. Nika didn't grow up in the Wizarding World- why should she know who her Dad was? It wasn't like Nika was particularly involved in Quidditch anyway so she wouldn't know that way. And then there was the obvious, she was a Muggleborn. They didn't grow up withe the sports so by that she wouldn't know about her Dad. In an odd way it was kind of a relief. Whenever people found out who her Dad was they usually changed the way they treated Selina. It was always can I have an autograph or free tickets or can I meet him? Honestly, it was exhausting. So one less person was nice, "Yeah I watch him when I can, but the season's during the year you know?"

"Actually I think I will be on my way, Sir," she said very politely. She wouldn't apologize for calling Simon out... he was really like a thorn in her side at the moment and she had no idea what his glitch was. So better to seperate herself from the problem.

Waving at Madame Donovan she said, "We will have to catch up some other time. Clearly." Shrugs and waves and Lexi was on her way back up the path toward the castle.

Chad sighed. Women. It was a shame that she couldn't help, but...maybe it was for the best? He wasn't sure.

Simon in turn gave a slight sigh of relief as Lexi just took her leave. He hadn't entirely been sure why she had went off on him something so insignificant as rolled eyes but whatever...the past was past.

"Uh huh I have," he answered with a nod accepting the offered hammer. "So what are we building?" Even a vague idea would help him know what shape he was to be hammering the wood into.

"Yes, sir, I have." Cove said. Many tines actually, especially when she helped her brother make a go-cart.

Gav wandered down towards the front gates in search of ingredients. She had been searching for some time now, and had only found one ingredient. Luckily, right by the front gate she spotted some daisy roots. "Score," she murmered to herself. "Only three more."

Legend nodded. Yup. He was right. It was going to be scary. The seventh year sighed and pulled away from the old gate. "I'm not worried about them. I taught Orlando how to stick up for himself. And Danny has Orlando. So...they'll be alright." Hopefully. They were so close in age yet sometimes it still felt as though Lando and Danny were the two little kids, one being the new kid, the other being the one who never spoke. But that was long ago.

Different? Legend liked the sound of that. "Different...yeah...I mean we can't stay here forever. It would be pointless really. You're right. There is only so many things we can accomplish. We know so much now compaired to like...six years ago. Like I can leave my dorm for a few hours with out needing to use the bathroom. Maybe it's a good different?" He shrugged. Maybe it was the different that was like...getting taller. After all when he was 11 he had been basically a foot shorter...growing had been something different...but good different. "Plus, if we stay here longer, I'm pretty sure Rari will make her way here and graduate before me." That girl....now SHE was scary.

"Right then!" Chad gave the young female a hammer as well. "The drawings there indicate what piece goes where. The wood is already cut into the appropriate sizes. Just find the right piece and hammer into place. Simple, non?"

Honestly Nika wasn't sure if being a famous Quidditch player meant you were busy all of the time. Maybe he had to travel around a lot during the holiday... Nika had no idea, but she thought that her dad might be able to get time off to spend with his own daughter when she doesn't have school. It would really only make sense. "Is your dad the one who got you involved with Quidditch?"

Selina shook her head no, "I see him often in the summer, but not all the time. He's got a lot to do you know fan wise. He's got press confrences and stuff that he needs to do. So I see him when he's promoting his season. But I grew up with him being home not that often so I guess I'm used it."

"Yeah he's the reason I got into Quidditch. Actually my whole family has played on the team for as long as ky grandma remembers. Actually every Skylar woman has been the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain for generations. No pressure right?"
