Skyer shrugged. "He could have hidden it from her by being nothing more than a talented actor. Obviously she found out eventually, but it may not have been until after they had you." Skye pushed her hair back from her eyes. "Well. I'm sure that when she said she didn't want a witch for a daughter, it was because she didn't know how to raise one. It's a very daunting prospect even to Wizarding parents. 'What if my child accidentally does something hugely magical in a place full of Muggles? What if they lose their temper and turn a classmate into a chinchilla, or if they cause a disaster while I'm in the loo?' For one who is a Muggle, that becomes even harder. You must understand her perspective."
Skye was relieved to hear that Louisa would try talking to her mother. "Good. A lot of times, when kids become upset because of their parents, they never even try talking to them about it. One conversation can make you feel loads better." She shook her head. "I know they're fake in the sense that they aren't actually from your parents. But it sounds like Marina loves you very much."
Skye looked up at Enya as she spoke. Well, it looked like the old Enya was back. Not that Skye had particularly missed her. But it had been nice to see the sensitive side of her for all of five seconds. As she kept talking, Skye became more and more dumbfounded. By the time Enya was done, Skye was simply staring at her, at a complete loss for words. Way to wipe out all of my hard work in a few sentences. It was true that hearing positive tings when you were upset made you feel a little better. But hearing negative things made you feel much, much worse. By saying that Louisa's parents didn't care, Enya had probably just completely destroyed the impact of every carefully thought-out, comforting thing that Skye had said in the past five minutes. Skye swallowed her words as disappointment washed over her. There was that boat sunk. How comforting.

… Louisa tried to absorb everything Skye had said, but it was so complicated. Now that girl is a Ravenclaw! She paused for a moment to admire the speech. "Maybe you're right. But as Enya said.." well, that speech was more affective at the moment so.. "..I shouldn't waste my time crying on a family that left me behind." which wasn't entirely true, considering the fact that they left her at her aunt's while they were gone but Louisa wasn't thinking properly with puffy eyes and dry throat… whatever that meant.
Aaaand things went downhill with Enya –or shall we say normal?- Louisa rolled her eyes and sighed patiently, "You don't tell a person to stop crying when they're crying! It's rude!" She stood up facing her friend, "Besides, I don't want you to be nice to me for two seconds before blowing it all up and shouting at me!" and it didn't matter if she did really shout or not, Louisa found someone to pour her anger on.. so..

Suppose she was right, but she did love the thrill of the argument rather a lot. Ignoring what Skye was saying she looked over at Louisa and said, "Whatever i do you say i'm doing something wrong or i'm rude. There's never a right with you is there?" She demanded pointing her finger at the younger girl.
"And for your information i wasn't shouting, i was stating a fact. STATING." She pronounced the last word a little louder then normal, "But i will be shouting in a minute" Enya was breathing deeply as she tried to control her anger...maybe now is a good time to listen to Skye?

Louisa took a moment of silence as Skye talked.. she seemed a bit impatient which was reasonable since their meetings never go without an argument between the same girls. Always. Maybe forever? Hopefully not. Louisa was going to start controling her tongue when around Enya... make that Skye actually since Enya didn't seem willing to hold her tongue.

Skye rubbed her hands over her face before crossing her arms. Wow. Now she knew what it felt like to be completely ignored. It wasn't a pleasant feeling. She bit her lip indecisively, and then decided to try again.
"All right, girls, seriously." Her gray eyes flashed with impatience. "I'd have thought that you'd both have the sense by now to know that shouting at each other makes matters worse! I guess I was wrong." She let that hang in the air for a moment, looking at each girl deliberately in turn. "Now. I am getting very tired of always being the one who stops arguments. I'm the only one of us who can ever keep her head in the face of conflict. And I'm done with it. I've had enough. You are behaving like children, both of you! If you can't grow up enough to have a conversation without it turning into something hurtful, then I'll treat you as such. Children. I'll..." She thought frantically of something she could say that could threaten them enough to make them stop. "I won't go to a teacher. Yet. I don't think it's quite escalated to that. But from now on, I'm not getting involved anymore. I'm going to let you two work it out in your own childish, loud way. And if you get in trouble because of it, don't expect me to offer any sympathy. I'm out of it. I've had enough. Is that understood?" She eyed them with a most un-Skye-ish glare.

Okay so now she was going to lose her temper and shout at Louisa....what was new? They always shouted over something or rather. It didn't take a genius to see that the younger girl had got more guts since the beginning of her first year, but something this really annoyed her. Enya took a step towards the girl threatening - even though she knew it wouldn't work, force of habit - and glared at the girl she called a best friend.
Before she could speak however Skye cut in, YET AGAIN but this time she was angry. No more peacemaker from her then. Skye's words and tone surprised Enya, she didn't normally see this from a girl who preferred to calm everyone down. The oldest in the group at a sixth year she was always the one that could calm them down, suppose this time should couldn't be bothered? Anyhow she was surprised.
Treat them like children? Give them no respect? What? "Oh so now we're children?" She demanded turning to face Skye.

Louisa had a deja vu. The food fight. The common room fight. It was always Skye who stood up for a logic explanation and they always acted indifferent or made it worse. This time she was being firm, angry and impatient. Something must've gone out of control.

Louisa was panting faintly as she gazed at Enya and if she had LASER eyes, Enya would be shot dead.

It'd been 3 years since she'd walked through the doors of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry...3 long, humbling years. And for her, everything was different now.
For her return trip, Marilyn had decided to wear her favorite cream colored pants suit and trench. Her blonde hair wasn't so bright anymore...but a richer, honey shade. Her disposition was calmer, not as angry or sarcastic. She wore her usual mask, of course...but beneath it, things weren't as stormy...There was fear, but that was to be expected. She was walking back into the snake pit...where people knew her well...and not for the right reasons. She had to, though...
...because of Rafe. He deserved an explanation.
She was just entering the hall, planing on marching herself up to the Headmaster's office...

Carter exited the Great Hall with the intent on taking a nap before his next class. In his hand was a bit of toast, which he happily munched on during his journey to the staircase.
He didn't get before far before noticing someone familiar in the hallway. The toast fell out of his hand onto the floor.
"Marilyn...?" he said under his breath.
Her hair might have been a tad different, but there was no denying who that was.
He thought that she was out of his life for good transferred to Beauxbatons. He hadn't seen her in years after all.
Of course, he would have preferred it to stay that way. The last time they talked ended with him having a nasty case of boils. And the last time he saw her ended with Marie almost meeting the same boil fate.

Caroline's mouth dropped to the floor. Seriously there was no way. She was back. As if being tauted by Marie wasn't bad enough the other Carter's ex girlfriend cousin was back. She looked at Carter and back to Marilyn, and smirked at her.

Carter noticed Caroline out of the corner of his eye. It took all his self-control, but he hoped that he didn't draw attention to her. The last thing he needed was Marilyn to try light another one of his girlfriends on fire.
"I'm not dating Marie anymore." he said in a rush. He hoped that would deter Marilyn from her former favorite hobby. He hoped that not mentioning who he was dating now was enough of a signal to Caroline that he would rather not her get involved with this.
If she thought Marie was bad... well, she was in no way prepared to take on Marilyn.
He shifted his weight between feet and then kicked at the bit of toast on the floor. He then looked up at her again.
"You look great." he said. He blinked twice. How was it that after this whole time, and all the things that had happened, and how much he wanted to hate her for everything that that was what managed to escape his lips? He should have had something much more clever to say. Or at least something more relevant to her cursing him when his back was turned and going after his girlfriend. Er... former girlfriend. Not to mention what she did to his and Rafe's friendship.

...And he thought he was slick. Marilyn seen his hand slowing gravitating towards where she remembered he kept his wand. Hurt at the small action flooded her and the feelings of guilt resurfaced. He had never forgiven her for what she had done to him...Not that she ever expected him to.
He'd asked the question. The blonde knew it was coming...and he wouldn't be the last to ask it.
Why am I here? For Rafe...For herself...To make things right, she supposed. Reflecting silently on everything she'd been through in the last few years, something deep and forever damaged filled her eyes...and she didn't bother with any shields or a mask. Marilyn wanted everyone to see that things were different now...Everything had changed.
"...Because it's something that I have to do..." She tried to keep her voice unaffected...but Carter being the first she ran into on this mission was not making such a thing easy. She had cared for him in such a deep way, that leaving him for Rafe had been the hardest act of her life. She and Carter had had so many wonderful times together...but he'd never think about that. Only the bad...and how she'd royally messed up.

Which honestly worried him a bit more. Whatever she was here to do... well, she was determined to do it.
"Okay..." he said slowly. There was something she needed to do? There was lots of things she needed to do. Starting with apologizing to Marie for being so horrible to her.
He was about to suggest Marilyn find Marie that instant and do that until Caroline spoke up.
He ran a hand through his hair. This was exactly what he was hoping to avoid. "Caroline. Seriously, stop." he hissed giving her a I-mean-it look. He didn't want her anywhere near Marilyn.

She looked to Carter again, noticing the pleading look he was giving the girl and smirked herself. "So, she's the new girlfriend, huh?" She wanted so badly to be insulting right now...To say that he shouldn't have downgraded...but this was NOT how things were going to go down. She was better than this...and better than this other girl for trying to pick a fight. "No offense, but this is between Carter and myself. Please don't provoke me...because that would be a mistake on your part and cause me to behave in a way that I do NOT wish to."

Caroline jerked her head toward Carter when he spoke to her. He wanted to her to stop. Like she was going to stop. She gave he a you-can't-tell-me-to-stop look back after the he meant in look. She was absoultly furious with him, where did he came off with that attiude of bossing her around. "I'm not going to stop!" She said angrily
Marilyn? The other ex-girlfriend of his. And another cousin of hers. She frowned slightly She got all huffy with her. "I'd like to .... You know I was just walking by" She really didn't want to act like this especially in front of Carter. She crossed her arms and took a step back. She was letting it go. For now anyway.

"Yes, she is." Carter said stepping in front of Caroline. He didn't want Marilyn getting any bright ideas.
And now Caroline was blowing up at him. Did she really think he'd talk to her that way if he didn't have a good reason too. After mentioning Marilyn's name Caroline seemed to take the hint though. But the damage was done. Marilyn now knew who Caroline was... and he didn't want her going through the same thing Marie did.
He then glared at Marilyn. "Between me and you?" he asked with a laugh. "There hasn't been anything between us in a long time." And Marilyn knew the exact cause of that. In fact, Rafe Marilyn was the cause of it.
Minus the awkwardness. That was definitely there. And the tiny bit of him that was still attracted to her.
"Whatever you're doing back just leave Marie out of it." That's right. She told him everything. And now that he and her were no longer dating Marilyn shouldn't have any reason to go after Marie. But, just in case, Carter wanted to make it known that he would be watching, and this time he wasn't going to play on the sidelines.
