Welcome to Hogwarts! You enter and leave the castle through two great oak front doors to stand in the majestic Entrance Hall. There are numerous doors and staircases leading off from the hall as well as the four house points hourglasses
"Naaaaah not TOO interesting. Heh." LIES! Lexi thought it was certainly interesting. Hehehe.
OH! He set his water bottle down. Hehehe. Now... to get him distracted and she could do her deed. She deftly slipped the phial out of her sleeve and cupped it in her hand.
Looking back to Tuney she BEAAAAAMED. "It IS a best friend charm, Tune." She MIGHT have blushed a bit... or seemed a bit moved by the whole situation... because well she loved Neptune like a sister and Lexi didn't have ANY family. REAL FAMILY. But she had her friends.
YESSSS! Lexi GLADLY took the book and water bottle. Tucking the book under her arm and holding the water bottle in the hand opposite of the one with the phial in it she grinned, and stepped out of the line of sight for juuuust a moment.
Quickly unscrewing the cap she then popped the cork on the phial and dumped a little of the contents in the water and smiiiiled as she swirled it around. Then she VERY quickly slid the phial back into her pocket and screwed the lid back on the H2O. Yeaaaaaaaah. HAH.
She HAD warned him. More than once. And boooy he didn't listen. "Hurrrrry! I dun want to stand here holding everything all day."
Best friend charms! BIRTHDAY best friend charms. It just didn't get any better than that. It just didn't. Neptune caught the silver between her fingers and marveled it. She had missed Lexi ...doing whatever she was doing.... entirely in favor of her charm.
Giggle. "Oh. Hehe. Sorry. I need to stop by the Student Garden. Check on something. You have to come with."

Looking at Lexi he held out his hands, "Well give me my water back then." He tried to catch a glimpse of what book it was and looked at Lexi before raising an eyebrow at Neptune. "Poems huh? Love poems?" HEH. Maybe love poems for JAAAAAAAAAMES. He looked at Lexi again and smirked as he opened his water again and took a sip of it.
La la la, Neptune jingled her new bracelet and her necklace. Best gift yet! "Thank you again, both of you." Ivan deserved some gratitude for his helpful hands. She reached for her book. "It's not love poems. It's nothing. You're smelly, Ivan. Come outside with us." She'd make him do any heavy lifting that might be necessary. Giggle.
Seemed like he was going to need to find something else to occupy his time instead of annoying Neptune and Lexi. Ivan took another sip of his water and watch the two talk about going to the Garden.
He smiled as Neptune thanked him, "Nothing to thank me for yet I haven't given you your gift." And it was awesome and she would LOVE it...well he thought she would. Hmmm. Wait. Him, smelly? What?
"Well I have just been running," he said drinking some more water. He shook his head and smiled as Neptune ordered him outside. "Yes, ma'am," he said with a smirk as he finished his water and threw the bottle away. "Lead on Ms. Bott."

The last thing she needed right then was her friend to see her cry- that would be a national embarrassment since Enya is capable of many things such as screaming out insults. However, the thirteen year old knew that Enya wouldn't just let a fight down and follow someone when they ran away out of nothing- she cared. There was some tiny piece in her heart that cared. Good to know Louisa's hunch wasn't all bad.
Before Louisa could raise her head and send Enya away, another girl came along and sat next to her hugging her with one arm. Gently, wise and quiet. Who else but Skye. Without hesitation, Louisa looked at her by her side, hoping that her cheeks wouldn't give away her tears, and then up at Enya who seemed... angry?
"It's okay. You can go back and snap the boy's neck." Louisa snapped at her friend. Despite the fact that she appreciated her rush, she wasn't about to tolerate her bossy vicious tone. Not in that case. "It's nothing of important." Louisa answered Skye faking a smile. She took her wand out and with a flick, the crumpled letter was burned out and so did the drawing. She folded the scarf and stuffed the box of gumballs inside of it. There, she wasn't about to enjoy the presents her family bribed her. She wasn't young anymore.
Skyr frowned. "Nothing of importance. Sure it is," she said with as much sarcasm as her soft, gentle voice could muster. She wasn't going to press. If Louisa didn't want to talk about it, then why on earth would Skye try and make her? Nosiness was one of the flaws that she disapproved of most in people. So although Skye was concerned for Louisa, and wanted to help, she wasn't about to force the girl to talk.

Enya was taken aback, seriously she was surprised. Louisa didn't just have a go at someone like that she tried to reason with them...that was her way of sorting things out. Enya took pride in knowing that even when she really didn't care but still, but now she was telling her to go away and go bully the first year again. Something she would never do before, something was seriously up with the girl. She didn't come rushing into the entrance hall for nothing...
"Excuse me!" She said sharply raising her eyebrows, she didn't like being talked to like that. No one did but mostly her. "Is that anyway to treat a friend after she came in to see whats up. I don't know why i try..."
Skye frowned. "Enya!" she scolded, acknowledging the other girl for the first time. "Do you really think that this is the best time for your self centered arrogance? Obviously she's upset about something; she's not going to be in the friendliest of moods." Skye really had no patience for enya's little "all about me" show right now. None whatsoever. She hated being so snappish with the girl, but softness and sympathy hadn't seemed to get her anywhere.
Being a student at this school was, with out a doubt, the most exhausting experience Damien's ever had. Especially this year. Between the strange dreams and reading about them in that book ... meeting more new people than he new how to deal with ... But he was glad to have met every single one of them, so far. There were, what seemed like a million more students at Hogwarts and he'd obviously never know all of them. That wasn't his goal.
He wasn't quite sure what his goal was.
Draging his feet through the Entrance Hall after spending a lot of time on the grounds, Damien sighed heavily before running his hand through his hair.
So. Very. Tired.
And then the screeching voices of nearby girls floated through his ears. Perfect. Just what he wanted to deal with on his way back to the quiet solitute of the Common Room. Unfortunately there was no other way around them, either. They seemed to be gathered in some heap, no doubt discussing make-up tipes or 'How on Earth could you wear something like that!' Ugh. It was enough to make any man want to stay single forever.

Treyen was just coming from the grounds, something about wanting to get acquainted with the ingredients he'd need to pick up for Potions had seemed like a perfectly good idea at the time, but he failed to see the downside...he'd have to return and pick them up because he had no container to put them in, nor he could make one because he didn't have anything that could serve as one for a little while, and mixing them with other ingredients just didn't seem right.
So, either way, he was walking back to the Castle, but his pace was rather slow, he was in no hurry.
But something caught his eye. He'd seen that boy before. Back in Moretti's office, or waiting to enter, to be more precise. "Hey, Hufflepuff!" NICE one Lockhart. He shook his head at that horrible greeting. But how was he going to get his attention if he didn't know the boy's name, right? "I saw you before, back in Moretti's office," it was best to say it, in case he didn't remember, "I don't think we've met, are you...new?" he HAD to ask, he was Prefect, he was supposed to know who was in his House, now? Yet he still didn't.
Due to the fact Damien was COMPLETELY zoning out from being over tired and not wanting to move at all, the sudden vocals of someone addressing a Hufflepuff was enough to jolt him awake for the time being.
Oh. Right. HE was the Hufflepuff being addressed.
He'd seen him before. Where? Moretti's office? Ah yes. Damien was waiting for Moretti at one point or another. Damien hadn't even noticed there was another person waiting to see the Head of House; he was too engulfed in his own problems.
"I was at her office, yeah," he replied, Irish accent slightly audible. "She's quite the busy woman. What with being School Nurse and Head of Hufflepuff House. It's definately enough to keep her busy."
He shook his head then, "No, we haven't met. And unfortunately I'm not very new. I just tend to hide in places people wont' find me," he joked before holding out his hand to shake his new acquaintence. "Damien Murray," he said. "Nice to meet you."

Heeeeey, he had an accent! That was super awesome. Just like Chandler, and Liam, kind of. Fletcher sort of spoke like he had an accent but the reality was that he hadn't. Aaron didn't. But it was still safe to say that the boys he had as close friends had accents or something similar to it.
Salander had an accent too, or lacked one, which was the same, but he didn't count.
And the boy also spoke the truth. The angel behind the Hospital Wing's door was a very busy one. Perhaps the busiest one at Hogwarts, because she tended to every problem, plus the ones her own House had. The busiest and the prettiest. Yeah. Treyen nodded when he spoke, and kind of hoped that whatever he went to talk about to his Head of House wasn't too grave.
AH! "I'm Treyen Lockhart," Prefect, as it could be seen in his robes, "And it's certainly nice to meet you," mostly because he was a boy, and Treyen was in need of more guy friends, no? Even all his Quidditch teammates were girls, except Oakey and Liam. Treyen shook the boy's hand. "You must act like this other guy in my year, I don't really know his name, but I know he's there," because they shared a dormitory.
"So, Damien, what year are you in?" and when did he get to Hogwarts, eh? Was he like that Alex Turner guy that only resurfaced on his seventh year? That was shifty-worthy.
Enya was taken aback, seriously she was surprised. Louisa didn't just have a go at someone like that she tried to reason with them...that was her way of sorting things out. Louisa was about to talk back to Enya but Skye beat her to it. It wasn't enough though. She shot a piercing look at Enya, "You only followed me so you can hold something against me! You never gave me a reason to believe that you actually CARE about me! Not even when I threw myself in every stupid fight you made! I almost got detention for you and all you do ever is push me away!" When she paused, she was panting. No. Was that crying? Yep, the tears on her cheeks approved the fact.
The thirteen year old looked back at Skye, "It doesn't matter, Skye. My mom left with her family last year and only now do I know that it was about my young brother. He's sick. And they didn't even care to tell me!" She swallowed and looked at Enya once again, "Not that anyone ever cared enough about me." Hmph.

The girls down the hall from Damien and Treyen seemed to be increasing their volume with each passing second. He wanted to draw out his wand right then and there and silence them himself. But Lockhart was Prefect. Even if the two boys were friends, Damien would still have gotten into trouble. He wouldn't expect Treyen to do his job, and not let anything slide simply because it was a friend who'd broken the rules.
Still ... it'd be so easy to quiet the girls with his wand.
Turning his attention back to Lockhart, Damien began the daunting task of explaining how it was that Treyen didn't know who he, Damien was, let alone what year he was in. "I have only just arrived," he began "Though I have been at Hogwarts before. Last year; A brief time during my fourth year." He paused, running his hand through his hair. "Due to circumstances beyond my control, I needed to spend some time in Ireland."
Not wanting to say anymore than that right now, Damien considered that portion of the explanation complete. Until he could find out more information, he didn't want to voice anything else to Lockhart. Another guy who seemed easy to get along with; which was exactly what Damien needed.
Skyr frowned. "Nothing of importance. Sure it is," she said with as much sarcasm as her soft, gentle voice could muster. She wasn't going to press. What was with people these days? She was changing as much as she could and being nicer, well she thought she was and this was how she was being treated? What the...Hmph. Why did she try? Why? Enya folded her arms and glared at the two girls sat on the floor in front of her, no one else mattered around her just those two girls.
She turned her eyes on Skye when she snapped at her, again surprising as she was always the quiet one of the three. The peacemaker in a way but didn't get involved. Was that like her religion or something? She opened her mouth to reply but what ever she was about to say completely left her, her mind when Louisa decided to speak her mind.
Seriously what was it with these girls today? But once the younger girl finished she had to feel sympathy for her, how could her mother do that to her. Before she could properly think - or she wouldn't have dared - she moved to sit down next to the girl. She even went as far as resting her head on Louisa's shoulder. "Sorry..." Was all she said.

Skye's eyes widened as Louisa stood up to Enya. She never would have believed it, but here it was! Although it was probably wrong of her, she couldn't help but cheer Louisa on silently in her head. As far as she knew, this was a first. How happy she was to see that Louisa could stand up for herself!
Skye's eyes continued to widen as Louisa told her what was wrong, and her eyebrows drew together in concern. "Oh, honey, I'm sorry," she said gently. She hugged her friend with the arm that was already around her shoulders. "That's really horrible. But I'm sure there is a good reason for them not telling you. Maybe they didn't want you to worry, because it's not as serious as you think it is?" At Louisa's next words, Skye raised her eyebrows in disbelief. "That isn't true! I care about you," she said quietly.

Skye was somewhat blown away by Enya's split-second change in demeanor. The girl had gone from haughty and arrogant to tender and sympathetic in a blink! It was truly amazing what happened to a person when their friend was upset. Skye said nothing, but when Enya leaned in to put her head on Louisa's shoulder, she silently shifted her hand a bit, so that Enya wouldn't put her face on it instead of a shoulder. For the moment, as so many other moments, Skye was happy to just sit in silence and think.

"At the moment I'm in my 5th year."
Damien looked slightly annoyed by something, didn't he? Yet Treyen knew it wasn't his presence. And there was no one close enough, except some group of girls...maybe he had an ex-girlfriend he didn't want to see anymore?
Treyen paid little attention to it when the boy started to talk again, or rather, reply. Oh. The Prefect nodded, and frowned a little bit, but it was only for a second and he doubted Damien would've noticed. Ireland, eh? That's were the accent came from. "I take it that's where you're from?" Ireland. It's not like his accent was that strong anyway.
Hey, hold on a second.
Okay, this time his eyebrows were brought together in a frown for real. Damien wasn't that other boy that shared dormitories with him and Chandler, so, who on Earth was this one? "I'm a fifth year too," his expression turned to a confused one, "Where do you sleep?" yeah, that was his main concern.
Shoving his hands in the pockets of his leather jacket, Damien nodded. "I am indeed from Ireland," he replied. "Do you know the country?" Well of course ... who hasn't heard of Ireland? That was a rather not thought through question. He didn't mean it like that though. What he attempted to ask was if Treyen know someone or had family in Ireland. But even that question would have sounded dumb ...
Now his head hurt.
Blinking his eyes a few times, wondering if he heard his next question correctly. Where did he sleep? Seemed like a reasonable enough question since ... well Damien was almost NEVER in the Hufflepuff Common Room, let alone the dormitory.
"Ah well," he began clearing his throat before running his hand through his hair. "I've actually been sleeping in the Room of Requirement. It's nice because ... well I can get exactly what I need without having to disturb anyone else."
Like waking everyone including the owls in the owlry with his screaming due to nightmares.

The boy smiled. And then tilted his head to one side, as if pondering on what Damien had said, "Yeah, I've been there a couple times, to see the Kestrels play, mostly," no, no mostly, just only, because Quidditch had been the one excuse to visit Ireland.
That's what he meant with the question, right? If he's been there? Otherwise, then Treyen knew what country he was referring to. If anyone who went to Hogwarts didn't know where Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales where, well, they'd failed Muggle geography, no?
And did he hear his question correctly? Or had he thought Treyen meant something else by his fair curiosity?
His eyebrows shot up as soon as he ended the explanation. "WHAT? The Room of Requirement?" he wasn't asking, he was just saying it out loud, "But that's ridiculous! We have plenty of space in the dormitory!" granted, he didn't know if the other kid was even still attending Hogwarts or not, perhaps he was too quiet for Treyen's taste. "And you wouldn't be disturbing anyone in the Common Room or dormitory, by the way," they were Badgers, no? Didn't they enjoy company? Hmmm, sometimes. Depends on who joins.
"I can help you set up if you want, or we can ask a House-Elf," they were fairly nice, truth be told.
He knew of the Kestrels. Never went to matches, but he'd see them in reports and such.
Damien jumped, taken aback by Lockharts response to where he was bunking at night. Of course he'd respond that way. Being Prefect and finding out that one of his own housemates (who he's never seen before) isn't even sleeping in his own dorm. Had to give the guy credit, that's for sure. He definately deserved to have that pin on his robes. He wa going out of his way for Damien, really; more than any other person he'd met as a matter of fact.
"You're certainly going through a lot of effort," he said, taking his hands out of his pockets. "No need to bother a House-Elf. I do hear they are also quite accomodating. I don't really take up too much space and don't have too many things with me anyway."
So was it settled then? Was Damien going to follow Lockhart back to the Common Room and get settled in the boys dormitory? Maybe this is going to be a step in the right direction. Maybe if he started acting like everything was normal, fine and dandy ... then maybe he could finally find some peace.

Okay. Fair enough. That's what Damien had been asking all along, apparently. So, he was from Ireland, and Treyen had been to Ireland a couple times. Sounded good. To him. At least there was no awkwardness or no questions regarding a place he didn't know existed.
Like Simon's.
But the Prefect resisted the urge to roll his eyes when he spoke of 'effort'. "It's nothing, really," he said, in a jokingly manner, "I don't see how it could be much trouble to tell you where your bed is, right?" because it wasn't. Not when he was heading that way. And even if he wasn't, the Common Room was too close by, that he'd still do it.
"We won't bother a House-Elf, then, but you'll have to, at least, follow me now so you can get settled...," Treyen probably should add something else, since Damien didn't seem too keen to accept much help, "...you can even move your things from the Room of Requirement by yourself, but don't ever sleep there, unless the dungeons and the kitchens are flooded," er, was Damien around for that? Was Treyen even around for THAT? "I'm only kidding, of course," he smiled, a very friendly smile, and then gestured for Damien to follow him.
"Do you like Quidditch?" that was the last question he asked, before taking the stairs towards the Common Room.

The scene suddenly twisted and the atmosphere went from anger and sadness to compassion and friends-related… if that made sense. When Enya leaned her head to her friend's shoulder and Skye squeezed her, she lost that thread that prevented her tears and cried silently. It was different though, crying with two friends on your side felt good… relieving. Especially now she knew that Enya was truly good at heart, just the way Louisa thought her to be. A part of her was very happy that Enya showed that and didn't continue her pushing-away approach. It meant she cared and considered her a friend. However, Louisa didn't want to talk anymore, not even when Skye spoke. She stayed still for a few minutes before that burden on her chest faded a bit.
"I don't think they left because of only that though." Her voice was hoarse, "I overheard them once, my mom and Jason, talking about how it was possible to keep me around my brothers. They will ask questions soon and they didn't want them to know about magic." She sighed softly, "I knew they didn't want me with them and I learnt to handle it but.." She looked at Skye with her puffy eyes, ".. to lie to me! Pretend that they care and then hide the fact that Johnny is sick! That is what I will not forgive." She said the last part strongly.

Enya was quiet, no one spoke to her and so she spoke to none of the others. She knew she'd surprised her friends, damn she'd surprised herself! Why did she suddenly go all lovey-dovey with the girls? Before she knew what was happening or even make heads of tails about what Louisa was saying she was in tears. What the? of for goodness sake, really cry now? what was the point? she thought to herself turning her head to her friend, but she didn't speak but instead let her cry. She needed it, she thought...
After a few more moments she spoke up; "Stop, it's no good crying you'll get ill" She face forward again and looked up. She really didn't like people crying...
"Do you like Quidditch?" that was the last question he asked, before taking the stairs towards the Common Room.
Damien liked Treyen.
He seemed to be the type of person who would tell it like it is; giving sugar coatings to those who appeared to need it. Damien needed to coatings at all; he had no problem if there people in this world who didn't like him; he was sure there would be ones out there he wouldn't get along with either.
Not Lockhart, though. Damien already thought well of him, and believed the two boys would be fast friends.
He followed Treyen in the direction towards the Common Room, nodding his head in agreement. "Once it appears I'll have something set up in the Dormitory, I'll run back to the Room of Requirement to get the rest of my things then," he said before giving his companion a quizzical look. Flood? In the dungeons and kitchen? What did that have to do with the price of tea in China?
Chuckling softly, Damien continued on with Lockhart up the stairs to the Common Room. "Well, after our win against Ravenclaw, I think it's safe to say that I'm begining to like Quidditch ... but only if it's our House Team." he said with a smile.

Skye turned her face towards Louisa, and tilted her head to one side a little to show that she was listening. She did not move, except to reach for her wand in her back pocket when the younger girl began to cry again. With a wave of her wand, Skye conjured up a clean handkerchief, which she pressed into Louisa's hand before returning to her previous position. She still said nothing; only let the other girl pour out her feelings, because bottling them up would make her feel worse. When Louisa looked up at her, Skye returned the gaze, trying to convey some of her kindness and understanding of the situation through eyes alone. After the other girl had finished, Skye pressed her lips together and paused for a moment, collecting her thoughts. Then she said, in her usual gentle Irish cadences: "Louisa, my girl, listen to me. Your parents, the way you described them. Are they Muggles? It is never easy for the Muggle parents of a witch or wizard to accept that one of their children has magic powers. I imagine that the vision of you that they had was quite different than the wonderful witch you're turning out to be. But don't think even for a moment that they ever stopped loving you. It may take time for them to accept you. But they will. Trust me." She nodded. "As for Johnny...my guess is that they simply had trouble trying to figure out owl post. Security is a lot tighter these days. Perhaps they did want to tell you before, but didn't know how. It might not even be a big deal. Everyone gets sick sometimes. He probably just has a bad case of the flu. He'll be fine," she promised.
Skye had to refrain from rolling her eyes when Enya spoke. Sometimes people can't help it when they cry, she wanted to say. Sometimes it's better to let it all out. But she didn't want to cause more conflict. So of course, she said nothing.

Louisa wiped her face yep all of it with the handkerchief Skye had conjured and smiled when Enya told her to stop. Before she could answer, Skye started talking. Louisa's eyes stared down at the floor. Her friend did make sense… some sense. "I doubt that they know how to send a letter. It's Marina that sent me the owl." She clarified looking up, "She's my guardian… sort of." Shrugging she continued, "I hope you're right. I want them to give me a chance to prove myself. It's just…" She let an exaggerated sigh, ".. they didn't stick around to find out. I don't blame Jason… he doesn't want his kids to know magic and Hogwarts but my mom! She's the one who did this to me." Gulp. And because it was weird to say that, the thirteen year old continued, "She married a wizard! What did she expect?" Louisa scowled and folded her arms. "If I see my real father ever again, I'm going to let him know how ungrateful I am." A big fat 'if' that was.
She then looked at the folded scarf and box of gumballs lying nearby and gave a crooked small smile, "Those presents are fake by the way. Marina did it to make me feel better. Mom doesn't knit and I only started to like those gumballs this summer. Nobody knew about them except for her." Yet, she was flattered that someone did care about her happiness. Someone other than her friends.

Skye was glad to see that some of her words were making sense. Even helping to make Louisa feel better. Most of the time, she kind of just made stuff up and hoped that the other person believed it. Well, she didn't make it up...but it wasn't like she was pretending that she knew everything about everyone, either. She had no idea what Louisa's parents were like. She didn't understand Muggles. Still ,the sentiment came from her heart. So she was glad to see that it had some effect.
"Well," she said, "maybe your parents didn't tell Marina either until recently." She frowned at Louisa's next proclamation, a little crease forming in between her slim eyebrows. "Did your mother know that she was marrying a wizard?" she asked. "When people are in denial, they can make themselves believe a lot of things. But I do believe that she still loves you. The next time you see her, I think you should have this conversation with her. Try and figure out some reasons for the things she does. They're probably quite different than you think."
Skye looked down at the presents. She hadn't noticed them before. "Fake?" she asked. "As long as someone who cares about you gave them to you, I'd say that they are very real." She looked up at Louisa and offered her a smile.

Enya was quiet for a while, not that Skye or Louisa were complaining, but she decided now to speak up but what to say? Be sympathetic or not?....wait why was she debating this? This so was NOT her. Removing herself from her thoughts she kicked the discarded presents with her foot saying, "A waste, why go through all the trouble of pretending they were from your parents when your guardian should know you'd know they weren't" Gosh tongue twister or what...
"Is she stupid of something?" She asked looking sideways at Louisa. Now she had done it, she just knew that Skye would have a go at her, then again so would Louisa. Sigh. "Have you done crying? because seriously crying over your family is a waste of time. They don't care" She'd had experience in that field and now wished she hadn't spent hours wishing they'd change.

Louisa shrugged at Skye's question, "I don't know if she knew. But how would anyone lie about them being wizards or not. She would've known eventually." Right? Well, Louisa would've known. "Mom did say that she didn't want her daughter to be a witch though." It wasn't true. Her mother implied that to her husband and Louisa overheard them. But that didn't change the fact, did it?
"I will talk to her." She nodded. They didn't have much time together last year and maybe this year.. when her brother got well, they would do that. Maybe. "I'm not a kid anymore." She added confidently and started to feel better.
Until.
Enya spoke. She raised her eyebrows at her, "I wasn't crying!" the very first thing her mind could come up with, "I was just sad and angry." No shouting. She was going to tolerate Enya's mood. Again. "And nope, those presents are fake." She turned back to Skye, "I know they are. Not that I care.. I just don't want to be fooled." She nudged the scarf by her foot bitterly.
