A stone square courtyard is the first aspect of the grounds that you come to after you travel through the corridor. Surrounded by magnificent stone columns adorned with luscious ivy and slight lily growth, the courtyard provides students with benches to sit on with their friends or for the one who just wishes for some peace and quiet. Also, in the middle stands a very illustrious Wishing Fountain.

"Yes, yes, i'm all grown up now," she said, sitting upright and looking all formal. She turned back to Louisa and winked. "Oh! Well, if you get into trouble because of me, i'm sorry in advance," she said. And now there was the question about Kita's looks. Wait... Weary? What?! "Yes, i'm fine," she said, smiling reassuringly at Louisa. Ok, this was turning weird. VERY weird. And now Louisa was talking about... leaving? WHAT?! "NO!" she shrieked, grabbing Louisa's hand and pinning it down on the ground, "Stay! Pretty please?"

Nika looked down at the ginger cat and smiled. "Aww she's so cute!" Nika bent down and waved at the cat. "Hey there kitty." She let out a sigh wishing that she could get a cat too. "I think I want to get a pet next year. I really want a puppy, but I don't think I would be able to bring it to Hogwarts."

"No problem," Samira smiled at Levi's thanks. She didn't just throw around compliments she didn't mean, and Levi was obviously a genuinely nice person, which Samira admired about the Gryffindor.

She looked at the comic, then back at Levi. Her eyes lit up with happiness. "Really? I can borrow it?" She wasn't expecting him to let her borrow it, but wasn't surprised. She could tell Levi was just a giving, selfless type of person. She beamed a bright at him. "Thanks, Levi." Samira had to resist the urge to hug him, because really, no one had ever been this nice to her before. She chuckled at Levi's joke about being the king of nerds. Samira gave a mock bow and said in a joking voice, "Your Majesty, I am honored to be in your presence."

If only he had known that his predecessor had saved an unassuming, lion-maned Gryffindor and his kickball from the tree simply the year before the current term.

Ellie nodded. "That should be fun. I love London." She said with a smile. Ugh, Holiday breaks were so far away. Couldn't they be here already? And yet it was only the beginning of term. Ellie sighed and looked back down at her hands. She remembered the days when she hated going home, seeing her family. But now all she had left was her mother. She had no one at Hogwarts. And all she wanted was to be home to spend the last moments with her mum. But, you can't always get what you want.

Laughing a little, she nodded again. Foreboding was probably the best way to describe it. "Yeah, tell me about it. But... It's a famous landmark. Historical. So it might be bad if they tried to get rid of it." She said with a shrug. Ellie always found that tree rather intriguing. She had read somewhere that there was a nob or something somewhere on the trunk that, if pressed, an entryway would open and a tunnel led to the Shrieking Shack. Ellie had always wanted to try it, but was too afraid to get beaten to a pulp. Or get in trouble by Stryker.

"I saved someone's life." She said seriously, looking Theo in the eye. But, she soon laughed out. A terrible liar. "Oh, some new kid didn't know about the tree and it was giving him a hard time, so I ran over and tried to yank him away. But the tree left a reminder." Ellie looked back at her ankle, then tugged her pant leg back over the scar. That "new kid" was Hyun, who sadly, moved back to Durmstrang during the summer. She missed that kid. "So, I wouldn't mess with it if I were you." Ellie said with a wink.

"Well I'm all the way from South Africa, my parents met at Hogwarts though my mom which is muggleborn came from France although she still went to Hogwarts, and as for my dad he's a halfblood and he came from England. They both lived in France for about a year after they got married then when my mom was pregnant with me, they came to South Africa for holiday. they really fell in love with the place then decided to move there when I was one. said Ness gasping for breath she was deffinately speaking way too much. "So how about you?

"Well, I guess that's all then," she simply said. No goodbye, no see you later, no good luck the rest of the school year. Without another word or even a look of acknowledgement, she turned on her heels and headed out the corridor, disappearing around the corner seconds later.

Sarah walked the length of the courtyard, balancing her bag in one had and her pet owl in the other. She wanted to go to the library, so that she could read peacefully. She was unsure what to do with her owl, Hedwig. Thinking of what book she should read first, she started making her way through the crowd. She looked around and saw a group of girls talking. She thought of joining them, but she didn't know them, none of them! Sheesh, I'm feeling so, stranger like! she thought. She made her way towards a girl, who was going away from there. She called to her. "Excuse me! Can I join you?" she asked.

At first, I couldn't stand it and I wanted to never look at the book again, but I find it pretty interesting now that I've read past that. Pffft, boring.

Ari loved the courtyard. It was such a relaxing place, which still kept the same air of grandeour like the rest of the castle. On a bench here, the Gryffindor could daydream for days. "Don't mention it," the Gryffindor replied cheerfully. He had a lot of comics and graphic novels to spare from over the years. He wasn't much of a reader but every time he was in a bookstore, he couldn't help but make a beeline straight to the comic book section. His home life was less than satisfactory so he saw the comics as sort of an escape from it. When he read them, he could forget about all his problems instantly and be whisked away into the action. He didn't have to fret about grades or his messed up family. It was a healthy, if a little dorky way of coping with his sadness now and then.

As she addressed him as though he were royalty, he started to crack up. Samira had such a great sense of humor. Most girls didn't seem to understand his way of joking around but he was glad to find somebody who got him. She was such a good friend. "Oh, you flatter me," he joked, putting on a nasal voice.

Alex just watched her angrily, his arms crossed moodily across his chest as she walked away. Before she turned the corner, he stuck his tongue out at her retreating figure before she finally disappeared.

He hoped a giant snake ate her. Or something HORRIBLE. He sniffled one more time and sat there a little while longer...he wanted to be sure he gave her PLENTY of time to get back inside and out of his path, so when he stormed back to the common room there was no chance of them bumping into each other.

How dare she make this into a problem about HER! What did she expect him to do, go live with their dad and constantly swallow the 'Why aren't you in Slytherin or Gryffindor like the rest of the family?' jabs he'd throw his way? Ummm, no thank you. Not like his father cared--after all, had he broken the news about this INSANE development to him? No. Probably wouldn't have. So he was thankful that someone DID at least tell him, even if she had a fit immediately afterwards and get all offended over nothing. GAHHHHH his twin was unbearable!

And yet, at the same time he wasn't about to admit that this summer had been really boring mainly because SHE hadn't been around. She hadn't been bugging him and constantly picking fights with him. He thought he wouldn't miss that but, he did. Not that he'd EVER say that to her, though. Maybe...maybe that was why SHE was so emotional too. Did she...miss him?

Nah, impossible. Sounded like she was having the time of her life out there. Traveling and such. Being the perfect only child like she always seemed to think she was destined to be. She probably hadn't even given him a second thought.

Totally NOT in the mood to draw anymore, he finally packed up all his things and left the courtyard, heading to his dormitory where he could lay in silence and think...and possibly cry a little.

Violet leaned her head on Selina's shoulder as she spoke to her. She closed her eyes tight as she listened to what Selina was saying, she really tried to take in what she was saying and tried to let it make her feel better. That was when the tears began to form in her eyes. Violet looked at Selina and then said,"But Selina..You don't know what it's like...To have so many people come around you and act like they really care about you and want to be around you...But it usually just ends up being because of the Veela in me.." The tears then began to fall down her cheeks and she said a little choked up,"You may, along with many other people...think that being a Veela is a blessing but...I often feel like it's a curse..." She leaned her head on Selina's shoulder again saying,"And now you see why I don't always put myself out there when it comes to a cute boy...Because I never know if they're going to see me for the real me...And I really believed that that was person...Was Chris.." She closed her eyes again.

"Hey, shh," Selina said wrapped her arm around Violet who had taken up residency on her shoulder, "Listen to me, hey, listen to me." Selina wiped away some of her friend's tears and said, "Look I know what it is like to have a curse that everyone else thinks is wonderful. But your Veela blood doesn't define you like my gift does. Violet, people like you for the person underneath. Look, that was why Chris liked you. He is way to oblivious to notice looks, he's a Shakespeare nerd. He thinks beautiful comes from the inside. Luckily for you, you have both. So don't even think about crying. No one deserves your tears. You are the best thing about you Violet, not some blood in your veins."

Connor walked hand in hand with Theodore Bear to the courtyard. Theodore always knew when Connor was depressed and the brown bear refused to leave his side today. Connor walked over to an empty seating area.

"I don't have a reason to smile Theodore. The only reason I would even have to smile is if Kurumi gave me a chance, but right now there is no hope of that.

Heather hugged Connor back. Then he introduced her and Mr. Panda to Theodore-he is.....CUTE! AS Theodore went about with hsi gentle 'bearly' ways, Heather couldn't help but chuckle. "It's nice to meet you Theodore Bear." she said politely.

Heather could only smile at Mr. Panda's gesture-it was friendlier than any he'd done so far. She turned to Connor. "I'm glad he likes us, Big Bro. Theodore's really nice." she said."just like you, big bro."
