A stone square courtyard is the first aspect of the grounds that you come to after you travel through the corridor. Surrounded by magnificent stone columns adorned with luscious ivy and slight lily growth, the courtyard provides students with benches to sit on with their friends or for the one who just wishes for some peace and quiet. Also, in the middle stands a very illustrious Wishing Fountain.

"Good, I hate you too," he mumbled. Like that was anything new. He'd been telling Sierra he hated her for years. Only this time, he was genuinely ANGRY at her. He blinked his eyes rapidly to try and push back the tears, reminding himself he could cry later when he got back to his dorm and no one was around. Crying now would just be embarrassing.

"You said it, not me," she snapped, spinning back around, doing her best to look like she hadn't been crying. She stared him down, taking a few moments to draw in several deep breaths in an attempt to calm herself down. Choking on a sob, she started coughing a little, giving her a few minutes of distraction while she tried to shove the harsh words out of her mind and away from her tongue.

For a reason she was sure she'd never quite know, she covered her ears when he tried to remind her that he was still their father's son and still her own brother. Over the summer, she'd allowed herself to just forget that there were others she'd left behind. It had been easier for her to adjust that way, but now Alex was causing all of that to come back to her. "Yes," she answered, "it is too much to ask. We're none of your business." Even as she said the words, though, she knew she was wrong. Choking back another sob, she quietly added, "Fine."

"I have to go," she announced.

MERLIN she was stubborn. GAH sometimes he wished that Anna had been his twin. She was so much happier than Sierra was most of the time. Glaring at her and crossing his arms moodily, he just listened to her. Whatever, he didn't care anymore. If they didn't want him there, FINE. He hoped he lost an arm in a hippogriff accident or something just so they'd feel SUPER HORRIBLE for treating him like this. Then when he was on his death bed they'd all gather in his hospital room, sobbing and wishing they'd been nicer to him when he was at school...

"Well then don't expect to hear ANYTHING about Mum from me. Ever again. I'm never going to tell you anything about us ever again," he snapped. He knew he sounded incredibly immature and selfish right then, but SHE was being selfish too. Oh how he wish he was at home right now! He wanted his mum. He just wanted to cry in her arms, because she wouldn't judge him like the rest of his schoolmates. He was just 12 years old, he didn't need this dramaaaa!

"Me too," he said, even though he'd actually been planning on sitting here drawing for a while until Sierra had shown up. Now he just wanted to sleep and cry. He REALLY hoped the dormitory was empty. He did NOT want to have to deal with people right now, not even his own housemates.

Her family, for example, who didn't waste time on things below them. It made Samira want to find a bat and rescue and raise it, somewhat out of defiance. "I'm sure he makes a great friend, don't you Vlad?" She brought her face a little lower to the small bat, and started cooing. "You're a cute little thing, aren't you?" Almost immediately, she realized what she was doing and snapped back up, embarrassed. She didn't usually act so open like this. The Slytherin ran a hand through her hair. "Sorry," she said apologetically, and gave a timid smile to her shoes.

When Levi handed her the muggle comic, she flipped it over in her hands with interest. Her parents never let her read Muggle things, and this was slightly rebellious for her. "That's actually kind of cool," she said, surprising herself when she realized she was being honest. "The whole superhero stuff. It sounds interesting." Samira didn't really think it was a nerd thing, and she smiled back when Levi winked at her. Jokingly, she said, "Yes, we all know nerds like you." But she smiled to show she was only kidding.

Unclasping his hands, he pointed with one finger at the Whomping Willow. "It gives me the creeps. I can see it from the window of the boys' dormitory and it always looks... scary, I guess?" A quick thought flashed across his mind: what if she laughed at him for being frightened of a harmless tree? His middle name should have been 'anxiety.'

Ellie listened as he explained about his homesickness. Getting more comfy, she turned sideways to face him and pulled her feet up on the bench so she could hug her knees. Ellie half smiled and decided to steer him away from thinking about the States. It seemed to just add to the homesick aspect. "Yeah, the U.K. has quite a lot to see. Have you done much sight-seeing while you've been here?" She asked, tilting her head slightly. Her mood seemed to had changed drastically from earlier.

Wow, graduation next term for him. And for her it would only be two years away. It seemed crazy that she had been there for almost four years already. Ellie didn't necessarily consider herself a boring person. But she was just... Average. Just Average Ellie. But as long as Theo didn't tire of people easily, maybe Ellie wouldn't be bored and lonely this term.

"Sight-seeing? Well... not much. I think I might take a trip or two to London over the holiday breaks, but those are quite far away." Theodore grinned with anticipation. Architecture was one of his favorite things and if he had been a squib, he would have probably pursued a degree in that area at a muggle university. Ever since he had been a child, he had always marveled at the various types of buildings, from brick-and-mortar apartments to world famous skyscrapers, near his home. Theodore even owned a novel dedicated to the various renowned architectural structures of the world, from The Louvre in Paris to Big Ben in London. The irony was that he was deathly afraid of heights. That would be another fear he would have to conquer.

"Whomping Willow? Even that name is a bit... foreboding." Raising an eyebrow, he gave once last glance in the direction of the imperious tree before turning back to face his companion. The definition of whomp was enough to scare off the sixth year; his dictionary of a mind recalled that whomp, as an noun, was a loud and heavy blow, slap, or bang. Ouch.

He had to refrain from cringing as he saw her battle scar. "What did you do? Pick a fight with it?" Biting his thin lower lip, he could only imagine the pain that she endured from that menace of a tree. If only he had known that his predecessor had saved an unassuming, lion-maned Gryffindor and his kickball from the tree simply the year before the current term.

Selina had to swallow the impulse to scream. Violet was not catching her very obvious drift. Did she have to spell it out for her? She really did not want to have to spell it out for her. It was not the type of message Selina ever like carrying and besides this was not her relationship. But... it was her best friend. So she gulped and continued, "Cass likes Chris the way you like Chris. She like likes him."

Nessie walked into the courtyard for the first time and thought it was quite beautiful. She saw the wishing well and thought of going to make a wish but she wasn't sure what to wish for. So instead she took a seat on a bench and hid hear head in her hands. Why couldn't she just stop thinking about it? And why did she have to die thought Ness a tear sliding down her cheek.

Jory had never seen such an extravagant courtyard. He wanted to take a seat and drink the sight all in. There were many benches around but they all seemed full except for one quite near to him on which a girl was sitting.
"Hi", he said to the girl who had her head in her hands "Do you mind if I sit here?"

It's true that Louisa was not one of them... although she was forced to be. But she should respect others' privacy. One of the few lessons she remembered from her mom.

She was bored.

Like she didn't know if she could be anymore bored. Enya had been walking round the castle in a daze for over and hour now and nothing to do. She couldn't find anyone to ~~terrorize~~ talk to. Where were her friends? any one?

Sigh.

Now she found herself in the courtyard - not a bad place - but the seat she was sat on wasn't all the friendly to her. The stone floor? Argh. Trying to ignore the pain she felt she looked around at all the other poeple roaming around the place, wondering what was going to happen today.

Although it was a little hard to tell, Levi could feel himself blushing at her remark. From what he could remember, nobody had ever called him sweet before in his life. Not even a certain blonde he was crushing on. Hell, that was the furthest word he would use to describe himself but he appreciated Samira's compliment. She was pretty sweet herself. It's not like she was being forced to talk to a poor and lowly Gryffindor like him, but it seemed like she wanted to. Even though she was obviously from a rich background, she didn't seem to care much about status. It was actually pretty refreshing. "Thanks," he said quietly, looking down at his feet for a moment.

The fourth year laughed as Vlad started to lazily shift himself onto his back. He seemed to like the attention he was getting, even though he was semi-conscious. Samira was a natural with animals--at least from what he could speculate. He wondered if she was into COMC as well. That was pretty much the only subject he could focus on. "You can borrow it if you want," he replied, gesturing towards the comic. "I've got a million of 'em. Aren't you lucky? You're talkin' to the king of the nerds right here." He saluted jokingly.

Zara looked up at the clouds in the sky. "I think I better go now." Then she turned her eyes back to Daichi's and smiled. "I'm just gonna head back to the library. I forgot my bag there, and then I'm off to our first lesson. See you there." Zara said as she gave Daichi an awkward pat on the shoulder, seeing as it's very embarrassing to give him an actual hug. Then she walked off back to the big doors on her way to the library. Stopping in her tracks halfway, she turned back at Daichi and waved, "SEE YOU LATER!" She shouted, still waving. "OH! AND MY NAME IS ZARA, OKAY? ZARAAAAA!" Without giving him the chance to respond to that, Zara ran off and was out of sight.

Catching his breath and standing upright again, Daichi looked at Kara's badge and grinned at her "lion" joke. "Psh! i don't need a lion to scare me! You're stomach scared me more...." He looked up at the sky at the same time Kara was looking. What was she looking at? The clouds? Birds? Pigs?

"Oh..oh ok" said Daichi as he looked at Kara when she mentioned she was going to the Library. Nooooo~! Now he was all aloooone in this great big..courtyard!. Oh wait, Coby or Loby ..ROBY! yes, he was still here too~!

Daichi waved at the girl as she ran towards the huge door he had came from. "I'll see you around in classes!" he shouted after her but her shouting was stronger. The first year Slytherin blinked a couple of times. Her name was..Zara?! "YOUR NAME IS ZARA"AAAAAAA"?! I NEVER HEARD OF A ZARA"AAAAAA"! COOL NAME~" hehe

Daichi turned around on his heels as he heard a rather cold voice behind him. Wow , someone was snappish. But then he sighed when the boy smiled at him. Daichi listened as the boy was talking about quidditch, his eyes twinkling with every word. So far he hadn't met anyone who liked quidditch. Alex didn't count because he was older. He meant someone from his own age. "You LOVE quidditch too? that's so cool! I signed in as Chaser~!" He just hoped the try outs went good. His smile faded a little when Toby announced he liked Falmouth Falcons. "I..sorry but i think the Falcons are...rude" But that was his own opinion. "You're looking at a future Puddlemere United Chaser~!" He pointed proudly at himself. That was one of his maaaaaaaany dreams.

Ella looked aorund. Hey.. the kid was gone..? 'Oakey?' She called out uncertainly. Hm.

Flicking her long curls out of her face and sat down underneath a large tree. Merh.. she was fed up. Looking round she didn't see a single person she recognised. She smiled weakly at a few other people she had briefly spoken to on the train but that was it.

Once again, she began to fiddle with her bracelets on her left wrist. THen she moved onto her locket... then her ring. Merh merh MERH.

As she made her way towards the library, Zara smiled to herself and shook her head. Clearly, the boy had memory problems. Then she chuckled to herself.

Zara decided to come back to the courtyard once she got her bag. After all, she had nowhere to go to for now. Laichi obviously needed some memory enhancements. Again, while on her way going back to the courtyard, she laughed hard. Daichi, eh? Let Zara call you Laichi instead. Lychee?

When Zara saw that Lychee was still there, she came back to him. "Oh hey Lychee, you're still here." She said as she leaned towards one of the walls, then sat on the cold ground like she was so carefree. I mean, really who'd sit on the floor like that? She looked back up at Lychee. "So how's it going with that other boy you were with, Toby right?"

''Puddlemere United?''he asked and he was a bit surprised. ''You like Puddlemere United?''Well, it wasn't Toby's favourite team, but they were good. He'd like to be in a 'real' Quidditch team too, when he was older. But now he just whised he'd come in the Slytherin Quidditch team. "Don't you think, it would just be great if we both would come in the team....from Sytherin?" he spoke very quick, because the thing was so exciting! "You as a Chaser, and I could be the Keeper. But to be honest, I don't expect we'd come in the team. We're young and I'm sure they're looking for people with more experience than we have."He signed, when he said that. It would be a dream which would never come true.
