A stone square courtyard is the first aspect of the grounds that you come to after you travel through the corridor. Surrounded by magnificent stone columns adorned with luscious ivy and slight lily growth, the courtyard provides students with benches to sit on with their friends or for the one who just wishes for some peace and quiet. Also, in the middle stands a very illustrious Wishing Fountain.
Maddie walked into the courtyard with her books in her arms. her last lesson was charms so it was more of charm books than anything else. She sat down on the stone benches and placed the books in her bag and looked around the courtyard
Mikey mad his way down the corridor to the Courtyard, his mind on Maria as usual. Boy was he hooked on that girl. He felt like he'd known her his entire life. And Thea too. Thea made it clear that Slytherin's and Gryffindor's could in fact be good friends without having to be enemies to realise it. They hit it off quite fast. He walked over to one of the benches which was occupied by a girl who seemed a little older than himself. She didn't seem that much older. "Do you mind if I join you?" he asked politely and rather childishly. After all, he was only a first year, right?

Mikey smiled and sat down beside the girl, nerves kicking in. He wasn't sure why his nerves were kicking in. Maybe first meeting nerves. But she seemed newer to the place than he was. "I'm Mikey" he said, holding his hand out for the girl to shake. Yep, definitely brought up well considering he was an orphan who was tossed from family to family. It was difficult having manors whilst being tossed around families.

Mikey returned the girls smile. "Pleasure meeting you too" he replied. "I'm in first year, Slytherin, but don't let that fool you" he replied kinda cheekily. As usual. "So far it's cool. Though some pretty bad stuff lurks here for me but only because of personal demons" he replied. Personal demons he was going to keep locked away in that messed up head of his.

Putting her hand out, to stop him from throwing his coins in to early. "Hang on. there Sal." She looked back to the map. "You see the order they flash on here." She touched each of the coins on the map.
She took a few steps closer to the fountain. Said her wish to herself. Dropped in her Red colored coin in. She looked over viola and then at Sal. Was something suppose to happen? Or did something happen after all of the coins were in. She bit her lower lip as she tossed to the other one into the fountain. She was a bit nervous. This was right? Right?
"Okay, Sal your turn. The green then the yellow one"

As she waited for Salander to drop the coins, she turned around and woah! Slythies. Everywhere. Like, EVERYWHERE. Where did all the Huffies disappear off to?
He finally peered into the map, eyes moving at every blinking colored spot "Right, ok." he nodded at the two girls as he tried to follow Caroline's instructions. He watched her drop her coins in then followed suit, pressing the fist that held the coins against his lips, whispering his wish. He then dropped the coins-- green first and then yellow, into the fountain and stared, watching with baited breath. "Now what?"

Treyen watched as the other group started to toss the coins into the Fountain.
First, the red one, which made the Fountain glow in a reddish tone. Then green, and then yellow. All they needed was to make the Fountain glow a blue color, no? Er, no, that had happened before right? Yup. It was all yellow, and something was coming to the surface.

Myself being a Slytherin, you're a Ravenclaw and Sophia is a Gryffindor; all we need is a Hufflepuff then it would be perfect." It would have been better if it was another dude to round out the little party since everything would be equal for once.
"Go right ahead, I'm quite intrigued to see what pieces you brought to show me; as you noticed, I did bring my sketchbook; there is one piece that I would love to show you since it's actually a painting." Grabbing his sketchbook, he opened it and flipped through the pieces until he found exactly what he was looking for. Handing the book to Ellie, he waited for her to make a comment on the piece. "I painted that last summer when the sun was almost down on the beach."
SPOILER!!: Matt's Painting
Ellie was relieved that she didn't have him waiting, and it looked like he had made another friend anyway. She smiled at Sophia and said, "Hi." Ellie chuckled when Matt talked about how all they needed was a Hufflepuff and they'd be good. Well, there were plenty of Hufflepuffs around... She gladly took her seat next to Matt and set her paintings aside.
Smiling, she took Matt's painting and her jaw nearly dropped to the ground. "Wow!" She blurted out involuntarily. Laughing a little, she tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "I mean... Matt, this is beautiful. You are really good!" And now Ellie was instantly jealous. She had come here so she could show him her paintings, but after seeing his and how amazing it was, Ellie hardly felt her paintings were adequate. "How come you don't paint more?" She asked, remembering when he said that he was more of a sketch-book kind of guy.
Maddie walked into the courtyard with her books in her arms. her last lesson was charms so it was more of charm books than anything else. She sat down on the stone benches and placed the books in her bag and looked around the courtyard
" You know, I have never meet a HufflePuff at all this term. well my first term" Willaim explained to the girl. " I see you have charms books" Willaim told her. " Mt name is William Montcenaggio aka William Starr.
Lola shrieked, putting a hand to her eyes. Why wasn't the mermaid calling her?! The girl did not hear any fellow yellow mermaids that were singing with euphoria! DID SHE KILL HER ONLY CHANCE OF BECOMING A SELKIE?! She looked back at Sierra with a nervous expression. There were no sparks flying around the fountain that congratulated them. Did they need to do that with all the coins? ALL FOUR MERMAIDS? This just wouldn't do. "Sierra, I don't think we should..." She pouted, but then realized that she was indeed a mermaid-in-training and MERMAIDS NEVER GAVE UP. It gave her the strength altogether again and she just took a deep breath while she waited for the other coins to bask in the mermaid haven.
Then the coin was off in mid-air when Sierra had tossed it.
"Have you gone mad, Sierra?! You didn't name it! Now look what she'll think when my Millicent's received a name and she hasn't!" Tututut this daughter had much to learn. "It'll feel all left out and what not."
Did she have to do everything? Merlin.
"GOODBYE AGATHA!"
Lola looked around and noticed Treyen/Train/WHATEVUHZ taking a step back. Did this mean good progress? Oh ho ho ho. When she looked back, Sierra was already prepping up to throw her last coin--"SIERRA, THE NAME!"--it was too late and her eyes were again with sorrow. "GOODBYE TILDA!" She was probably the only sane one here. Not naming your coins...? Not naming the mermaids?
She looked at the last coin. The green one... "I'll name you Madame Frumpsy..." Lola threw it with much affection and expected to be a mermaid once this coin-throwing business was all finished up.
First, Millicent. Then, Agatha before Tilda...and WHEN was Lola Jones going to toss the final coin the Fountain? When all the other coins told her to? Or when Sierra told her to?
Either way, Treyen finally watched as Madame Frumpsy (he was beyond amazement to be bothered by the names she was giving the coins) was falling, falling, falling into the glowing darkness that expected her. And we say darkness because the glowing turned to a slight dark green. Slytherin green. Before returning to its white self.
That was it.
No, no, wait for it, there's more.
Something appeared to the water surface. They should take that, it was safe to do so.

Sierra waited.
...and she waited.
...and then she waited some more.
She was just about to give Lockhart one of her trademark glares when an object appeared just on the surface of the water. A compass, she knew, from Transfiguration classes last school year. She slowly turned away from Treyen and reached into the water, her hand coming out with the compass a second later.
She gave it a quick glance and then looked toward Lola and Harper. "On to the next location, then," she casually said, though her heart was suddenly racing a mile a minute. It was sort of...exciting, she dared to think, and Sierra Greingoth didn't get excited over too many things. At least, she didn't show that excitement too often. "Thanks, ...Treyen," she said, putting a slight emphasis on his name before turning and leading the way out the courtyard.
SUNLIGHT. The light of daaay. Anakin couldn't be more pleased with himself that he was getting out and about and away from his dreary dormitory, with no company but his textbooks. Yes, he was actually studying. He HAD been actually studying. But now it was time for a break, and some sunlight. The boy was already much to pale to not spend any time in the sun like ever.
Heading out to the courtyard, the teen plopped himself into a corner and crossed his legs, criss cross applesauce, and watched the other kids around him. He was just observing, like the little antisocial puff he was.

Lola gasped as she thought she spotted... something?! Hmm? Had the mermaids really given her something back for placing them into their little mermaid haven? She was shocked and flabbergasted because something happened to float up to the surface of the fountain. Perhaps it was a mermaid tail that had been calling for her to wear it!--or maybe a valuable object that once at touch, would complete the mermaid-in-training-transformation. There were rarely any more options than that, but faith decided to leave her for all Lola saw was a compass that blinked the words 'Follow Me' and she was even more shocked. More puzzles? More scavenging?
"If it means turning into a mermaid...!"
She eyed Sierra who grabbed the compass like a madman, and so, Lola followed. "Let's go, Harper!"

Better than her? Eh, Evelyn just thought she was annoying.
Hmmm, nope. She wasn't going to comment on that, because as of noooooow, she totally thought she was better then the Rora girl. And obviously, because she was older, she was better than the girl.
Rora should just stop denying it! It'd make this whole event so much easier.

"So...coins...and a fountain." And the map. Oh hey! The MAP! It...was different.

She could also glare at him, but something told him he'll be the one paying IF nothing actually happened or they'd read their maps wrong.
Until...she said his name, but he still blinked, because she didn't have to thank him, truth be told, she should be thanking the Fountain for giving them what they needed to move on.
Either way, he smiled and waved goodbye. Relieved to see Lola getting away, but not too relieved to see WHO she was taking along. Cricket.

Vashti entered the courtyard, relieved that they finally had a nice day outside, especially one that wasn't too cold. She refused to go outside while it was freezing if she could help it, after her last venture resulted in her getting a cold. Incidentally, she'd been trying to study when she was outside that time, and this time was really no different. In one hand she held an open book which she appeared to be reading; in her other hand was her wand.
She'd come outside to practice casting spells nonverbally. After that last Charms lesson, she was determined to practice doing more of them so that she could get the hang of it. That way next time she wouldn't feel so silly trying to cast a spell.
Having walked around this castle so many times for five years, Vashti didn't even need to look up from her book as her feet led her to a bench in the corner. When she reached it, she sat down, eyes still glued to the pages.

Harper waited a while as well, peering anxiously at the fountain, then over at Treyen, obviously hoping for some kind of explaination. But then she followed Sierra's gaze, along with Lola's excitement, and saw a compass in which Sierra then grabbed. Ooooooh, clueses!
She beamed at the item in Sierra's hand and at Lola's call began to follow them. She couldn't remember the last time she had had a hunt like this. Maybe for easter eggs. But that was just lame compared to this.
Too bad they weren't chocolate coins.
"I'm coming!" there was no need to say it, as she was already obviously following behind Lola.

Harper glanced back one more time at Treyen, who was waving goodbye to Lola. She quickly waved back at him with a smile, now very enthusiastically. Perhaps Lola's excitement was wearing off on her - although her ambition wasn't exactly to become a mermaid.
And so off to her own life sacrifice with the Slythies the next destination.

Anakin could have been NORMAL, and actually sat down on one of the bench's like a normal person, instead of plopping himself onto the ground NEXT to a bench, but since when was this puff ever actually normal? Watching the people milling around the area, he spotted a familiar girlish figure with a nose stuffed in a book and walking towards him.
Combination of the girl's stance, as well as the looks of her, there was no doubt in Anakin's mind who it was. Vashti. He couldn't help the slow grin that spread across his features, before he began to debate in his head whether or not he should interrupt her, or just leave her be and leave before she noticed.
Of course, he couldn't just up and leave. That was impossible. Not without at LEAST saying 'Hi'. "Hey, bookworm, careful not to be SO interested in your studying you trip and die are something...I just might have to cry..." Heh.

This book had plenty of suggestions and tips for nonverbal spell casting, most of which seemed to coincide with what Professor Descoteaux had said. So this book was pretty much pointless. Meh. Whatever. She closed the book with her hand and began considering which spells to begin and-
Merlin's beard! Where had Anakin come from?
Clearly she'd been so wrapped in that pointless book that she hadn't noticed him - which was odd. He wasn't exactly easy to ignore.
"Might have to cry?" Vashti asked, smirking slightly. "So there's a chance you wouldn't?"

Amy walked over to the courtyard on her hunt for La Flame's suplies, despite what the gryffindors said, she was still a mental, eviiiil woman. La Flame, not Amy, Amy was just...odd. But cool odd. Yep
Slowly she cut across the courtyard, plopping down next to a bush and began to scan the book she held in her hands, to see if it was an ingridient to be used
Alex saw a girl walking across the courtyard, they both seemed to be alone so he went up and joined her. "Hi, I'm Alex." He introduced himself awkwardly. "You seemed to be alone, would you like to be not alone anymore...cos I was sorta alone too and it was quite weird and......yeah" he trailed off, he was cute, but in his own little shy way. He hoped she wasn't waiting for anyone or that would be AWKWARRRRRDD!!!!
Conan smiled. He wasn't being stupid at all. She realised it was true too. "I'm Conan. Conan Taylor," he shook he hand. He ran a hand through his hair. And returned to looking back at the map. "I need a Slytherin too."
While she was occupying her time examining the coins, Aiden sees a couple of Badgers talking to each other. She stuffs the coins bag into the green bag and approaches the Huffie boy who appears to be younger between the two.
"Sorry to interrupt," says Aiden politely. "Did you happen to say you need a Slytherin?"
Better than her? Eh, Evelyn just thought she was annoying.

Rora should just stop denying it! It'd make this whole event so much easier.
Eying Rora, she waited a few seconds or so before opening her own back and pulling out the two coins. Both of them were a shiny silver, yet one had a green tailed mermaid on it, and the other had a yellow tailed mermaid on it. Hmm, like Salander's.
"So...coins...and a fountain." And the map. Oh hey! The MAP! It...was different.
Aurora ignored the girl's failure to comment and just put it down to her inability to come up with an adequate comeback.
Ooh, more coins. But wait! "Not just any coins, coins with the house colours on..." She said, the she glanced down at the map... the four coins were... "That's where the common rooms are... What d'you think that means?" she said, looking up at the Hufflepuff girl.
"And everyone else is throwing their coins into the fountain... should we do that?" she asked, fingering the little gold discs in her palm.
Conan turned to a voice by him, and nodded, "Yes I did. Do you need a Hufflepuff?" Well here's hoping. "I'm Conan." He held the map out to her. "I have a map." What did she have?

Helena looked again at the map, seeing as those things were... blinking there, or whatever they were doing, but then noticed that Aiden managed to open her bag and she had a couple of coins.
The girl tried to open hers as well, and it actually opened. But... "I think there's a problem," she said with a slight frown, taking another look at the map. "Look at those two," she pointed towards the two points that she now recognized as the coins that Aiden had. "I have the same ones." Which was noooot good.
Ness watched as Aiden seemed to have left the team, Ness looked at her map and it went back to what it was before. Ness looked around trying to spot a free Slytherin, although everyne seemed to be bussy with their teams."Um I think we should find somone with a silver bag, seeing as Aidens gone!" said Ness to Helena. Ness was actually kinda gratefull Aiden left on her own accord, because Ness would feel really bad, if she had to kick either of them out. "ANYONE WITH A SILVER BAG IN SLYTHERIN?" asked Nessie shouting, hoping she wasn't too loud, but loud enough for everyone to hear. Ness looked back at Helena, trying to keep her hopes up!
