Carter raised his eyebrows. Had she expected the truth? Had she wanted him to confess he was heartbroken? Yeah... that wasn't going to happen. Far from it in fact. He was going to pretend like everything was fine.

He turned to go once again once Caroline acknowledged that she heard him.

o___O Wait. Wha--?

"Well... I guess that saves me from letting Kita down easy..." he said with a small chuckle. He didn't want to talk about her 'meaning everything she said.' In fact. He wanted to forget that that had happened. He'd said quite a few things that he wouldn't have wanted to get back to Caroline.

"Not that there's anything wrong with her of course. She's a great girl..."

Yeah. Anyway. Could he go yet?

We're not going to lie, this could be Treyen Lockhart's most uncomfortable encounter EVER. Besides being weird, he was not used to this kind of meeting, nor to have a boy walk around him like THAT. Why was he doing that, anyway?

He couldn't help but chuckle, "And? So what if I'm being difficult?" he said, raising an eyebrow ever-so-slightly. He didn't expect an answer to that or anything remotely similar, and not when this guy kept on talking. Yeah, Jai from Gryffindor was definitely a weirdo.

The Prefect was about to comment on the Hufflepuff-type student when he started to wag his finger AT HIM. "Excuse me?" he GLARED. Not at Jai, but at the finger. Careful, or Treyen might hex it off.

And for the record, Treyen was being nice. As nice as he could.

SAY WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!

This time he wasn't taken aback by his comment, he was kind of figuring he'd say something similar, but it was still weird to hear it, so, he shook his head while holding a small smile, "Oh, trust me, I'm not missing out on anything."

What exactly did the boy get by 'I'm not into that'??

Okay, he had NOT been expecting that. He noticed the freezing, and suddenly realized that the boy had no idea what he was talking about. Then...if it wasn't Josh..."Was it Lexi?"

Well it was nice to know that someone found this hilarious because she sure didn't find it funny not one bit. When Carter laughed she rolled her eyes and threw her arms up in the air. "Well thank Merlin, for that. And thanks for totally ignoring the rest of what I said" She was crazy to think that this was a good idea and that it would go well. Clearly she had thought wrong. Haha. The thought that her tell him that she wanted to get back together with him well that wasn't going to happen... possibly ever. She was just to annoyed with the boy right now to think properly about that.

It was offical she would never understand men.... espeically Carter Phillips.....

"Then it must be me? Something wrong with me then? right?" Not that he or anyone else had said that about her. But still it was the next thing that he said to her and she just snapped. She crossed her arms and walked away. But she did say one last thing. "I really wanted to.. to.. get " She couldn't finish that sentence as much as she wanted to she couldn't. And even if she did get it out she was going to burst into tears. There was no way that she was going to cry in front of him. She had to get out of here now, before she got too emotional.

This time she wasn't going to stop again or look back Okay she mite have turned to look back a couple of times before she turned the corner. Then she completely broke down, leaning agaisnt the wall she cried. Well at least she had held it until she had gotten away from him.

Carter knew instantly that he had said the wrong thing.

It was too soon for jokes. Got it.

Wait... how was this his fault? Last time he checked she was the one breaking up with him. And she wanted to... what exactly?

He groaned out loud. Why were girls so... mental?

Then he followed after her. He had no idea what happened... But he had to admit... it almost sounded like she wanted to get back together...

But that wouldn't make any sense.

He spotted her leaning against the wall around the corner. Taking a deep breath, he approached her. "Listen. I appreciate the gesture..." he said quietly. "But I just really couldn't accept... it would be too..." Too weird? Too soon? Too personal? Too... something. He just wasn't sure how exactly to describe it. He just hoped she'd understand.

Caroline seen him coming around the corner where she had just came from. Was he following her? She quickly wiped her eyes with the back of her hand. Just in case he had followed her with the idea of stopping and stringing this out even longer. Not that she in some way minded it, part of her wanted them to have to chase each other around the castle.The other part of her wanted it to end back around the corner. But he was here now.

She listened as he explained to her that he appreciated the gesture and that it was too.....too what. "Hard?" finishing his sentences. She absentmindedly grabbed his arm. She looked up at him. Hard just like this was. "I understand but then I don't. I don't have to be around while you're there. I won't be. If that's what you want?" She would get as far away from Africa she could while he was that she could if it meant he would go. So maybe the telling him that she was going to be there wasn't the best idea.

"Why did you follow me?" Trying to sound not as upset as she was really feeling at the moment.

Samira, polyjuiced as Aiden, walked down the corridor leading to the courtyard. She loved this corridor. Not only was it leading outside, but it was also partially inside. Like an in-between. She liked it because it wasn't too crowded, yet it wasn't too lonely either. She shoved Aiden's small hands in her pockets and kept walking until she reached the end of the corridor. She didn't really feel like going to the courtyard, so after contemplating it a bit, Samira turned back and walked down the other length of the courtyard. She kept on pacing back and forth for a while, waiting for the effects of the Polyjuice to wear off.

Finding a nice little alcove that had plenty of sun and space for him to sit and for a certain Hufflepuff to hopefully join him, Jim dropped his bag and made himself comfortable.

NEWTs were done, thank goodness, and so when he pulled out a book to read, it wasn't to study, it was actually for fun.

Yes thats right, James S. Wilkes was reading in public.

After completing her owls, Cassie spent most of the day trying to find her stuff. The house-elf was right, she did leave her things all about the common room. She really should stop doing that.

When she figured she had done enough packing for the day, she made her way to the grounds. Fresh air always did wonders for her mood, besides she didn't want to see another book again...ever.

She spotted Jimmy, superbusyboyfriendwhohadalotofmakinguptodo and quietly made her way over to him. Cass gently pulled the book away and shut it." I think I have something better for you to read James Wilkes."

"Oh really?" Jim looked up with a delighted-to-see-you grin and happily relinquished his book. Yeah he could read about magical explosives some other time yes? Yes.

He reached out to pull her closer.

"What am I reading?"

Cassie smiled at the look on Jim's face and allowed him to pull her closer. She had no problem with being closer at all.

"Hmm well.." she dropped his book.."it's a personal novel of mine, I call it "Lips des Cassie. I think you'll enjoy the read."

She gave him a coy smile and waggled her eyebrows suggestively."Up for the read?"

Jimmy snuggled her and laughed, obviously in a good mood and pretty relaxed too.

"Oh yeah? How does it begin?"

Oh he had some idea but it was fun enough to play along and see where she was going.

Oh? Jimmy snuggles. Oh yeah, now this was making for a good day. Looks like she wasn't the only one unwinding from a rather busy year.

"Well see Lips des Cassie, meets Lips des James and they embrace and together explore each other's homelands...but I don't want to spoil it for you."

She reached up and smoothed his eyebrows over." They were fine but meh, she just wanted to touch anyways.

Homelands? He laughed a bit. Allllright then. Metaphor got a bit lost there. He patted the concrete of the alcove between his legs, indicating she could sit there and then lean against him.

"Term's nearly over." Well he was stating the obvious a bit, but he was actually sort of relieved by it. After this? He'd be home free.

Cassie grinned at him, then sat between his legs like he indicated, relaxing unto him. It was more than a little nice relaxing with her boyfriend like this. Especially when he had been so busy for most of the year. Was her seventh year going to be like that?

She nodded and tucked a bit of her hair on both sides behind her ears." yeah..I guess I want this term to end but then...I'll end up saying goodbye to a lot of things..and people...Brynn is going back to Durmstrang and you're graduating..." Bittersweet as most things seemed to be these days.

Jim reached one arm around her to hold her comfortably against him and played with her hair a bit with his other hand.

"Yeah? You'll be alright, there are plenty of people to get to know around this place." He paused, "But I know what its like to see your friends go. both of the other terms he'd been here were like that, with friends graduating and whatnot. That was life though.

"Doesn't have to be goodbye forever though." Even though he was GLAD to be graduating and leaving, he wasn't as excited about leaving Cass here. "You can keep Ivan company for me." He added with a small smile that didn't quiiite touch his eyes. Yeah he still hadn't talked to Ivan about the love potion incident. He was dreading it so he was avoiding it.

James S. Wilkes didn't want to lose another friend that was supposedly of the best variety.

Cassie nodded. He did have a point,often times she would run into people who supposedly had always been at Hogwarts, but who she had never seen before. She shrugged slightly.

"I know but still...those persons won't replace my bestfriend and my boyfriend." She wasn't going to dwell on it though. She smiled when she said leaving wasn't goodbye." Should I take it that you won't fly off into the sunset without another word?" She was half joking half serious.

She chuckled." I think Ivan now has more than enough company for next term." She heard it through the grapevine that he was dating a slytherin now.

"No." He agreed quietly. "Nothing can replace a best friend." He knew that for sure. It'd be easier to be able to blame it on physical distance.

"I have an owl you know." He gave her a little squeeze.

Yeah and he'd use it... assuming she still wanted to hear from him after a time. Who knew what the new term would bring? After all, this time last term, he'd still thought that he would have been with Marie.

"I swear Ivan has had more girlfriends that me and Finn combined." He laughed slightly, forgetting for a brief moment to be upset with either of them.

Cassie relaxed even more into Jim's embrace, if that was possible and closed her eyes. She wasn't sleepy, she was just relaxed.

"Hmm well that's true, letters are better than not hearing from you at all." In anycase, she was quite used to him being busy, so it wouldn't be as hard on her being boyfriendless next term.

She opened her eyes and tilted her head back so she could see him. She was pretty sure she had a clear view of his brain from this angle."Ivan? I took him for the gentleman of the group actually. I never thought he was the type to change girlfriends often." That was more of a Jim and Fin thing.

"As long as you write me, I'll write back." He promised. You know, until she wrote a Dear John letter.

"Ivan falls head over heels at the drop of a pin. And he really believes he's... you know, the l-word thing. But he's fickle. In and out. Thing with Ivan is he breaks his own heart a helluva lot more than any girls." His nostrils flared slightly and he let out a frustrated sort of breath and spoke in a purposefully light tone. "So you don't think I'm much of a gentleman then?"

"Well it's a deal then. If you don't write me back I'll send you a howler." She offered her pinky finger."Pinky promise me?" She giggled, not really expecting him to take up her offer to pinky promise.

Cassie's mouth formed an 'O' shape as Jimmy explained Ivan to her. In all honesty, he did seem the type to fall easily but that msut be what gave him the sweet gentleman type aura."Poor Ivan.." Well she was a Puff, James didn't expect her to not feel bad for the boy did he? "At least he's happy now." Well he seemed happy the last time she saw him.

She smirked a bit." I think you can be a gentleman when you want to be James Wilkes."

Carter ran a hand through his hair. "That. And weird..." he said staring at a spot on the ground. He sighed. He was going to have explain this, wasn't he? "Well... it's not just that..." How was he going to word this...? "You don't owe me anything... okay? I just think that it'll be... you know, easier if we took that break that you wanted."

He emphasized the word break hoping that she would catch on to the fact that he didn't really want to have anything to do with her at the moment. Especially something that would determine his future. There was no telling if they'd make up in a year.

Why did he follow her? That was a good question. "Just because of... uhh... everything... doesn't mean I particularly enjoy seeing you run off crying..."

He shifted his weight awkwardly. "I guess... have a good summer then..."

Caroline nodded a bit. Yeah, it seemed like the weirdness bewteen the two of them would linger longer than she would have ever wanted it to. Oh so getting him a try-out was owing something to him. Jeez, thanks. She held her tongue, not wanting to start fighting with him. "Yeahh, okay. You're right.... I think that would be a good idea." she agreed sliding her hair behind her ear. Then clearing her throat "Then maybe we can see how.... you know." She wasn't even sure how to word what she was thinking, maybe he'd get the idea....... somehow.

"Crying? No I just had something in my eye." She lied, like he would believe that. That didn't even convince herself She realized that she still had a grip on his arm. She dropped it

Sooooo this was goodbye? Okay she could deal. She threw her arms around him and kissed hugged him. Hugs were okay, right? mmmm nope too..... soon and a bit awkard she let go and took several steps back. Yeah..... a break gotta remember that one. "youtoo" She said quickly and ran walked into the enterance hall.

Carter stood there for a second before smiling weakly. At least... she kinda understood what she meant. That was... progress... right?

'See how... you know'? His eyes widened. Did she just... did she just hint that she wanted to get back together. Hearing this he leaned against the closest wall. He was at a sudden loss at words. Of course... he'd been thinking about how much he wanted to get back with her... but is that what he actually wanted? He admitted, it was something that had never seemed like a possibility.

Before he knew it she was hugging him. And before he had the chance to hug her back... or tell her off... or anything... she was gone.

Merlin. Why were girls so difficult?

After a few seconds of being slumped against the wall lost in his thoughts, he stood up and left. He was never going to understand girls.

Nika was getting tired of the common room. She loves her Gryffindors, but it's nice to get around to other places. She wasn't really sure what to do with herself lately. Where are all of her friends all of the sudden. A lot of her older friends were probably working on their tests and some others have probably just disappeared or something. Well then Nika will make new friends... As soon as she finds someone that could handle her amount of energy. She started to feel a little awkward walking around in the corridor without someone to talk to so she began to hum and her walk turned into more of a skip. If only skipping was apart of Borr's assignment.

Danielle strolled along slowly with a little smile on her face, she pushed back her blonde curls and sighed as she looked around, wondering where everyone was. It was nice to have a break from the OWLs. They had not been fun. She was dreading those results. As she walked along, distracted with thoughts of failing her exams, she bumped into someone. Her eyes widened and she blushed- "Oh gosh! I'm so sorry!" she said apologetically as she smiled comfortingly at the girl.
