Daichi walked with slow steps towards his new house table. During the sorting he had been scared that old hat would have ask tons of impossible questions. He even accepted the fact he had to do an three hour test .... a three hour sorting test which became more like three seconds.
Lost in his thoughts , Daichi couldn't help but feel joy now he was walking over the the Snake table. It was the house he had hoped to get in to , and now he is! But , you see, there was one thing that kept him from jumping up and down in celebration. He was being lied to. Daichi did not like being lied to and what is worse.. he was being lied to by their Prefect.
Because he had said that the sorting test would last three hours with difficult questions and even spells , Daichi had read and read and read in the school books, he wanted to practise the spells but couldn't because he wasn't off age, far from yet. Not to mention the nights he had nightmares about people laughing at him and calling him stupid for not knowing a question and he even had woken up a few times with the result he couldn't sleep anymore. Daichi held Mr.Duckels , his plushed ducky against his chest as he thought how "The Liar" was called again. The Prefect he had looked up to in Diagon Alley so much? Carto? ..no .. Carwrite? ..no that wasn't it either, it didn't matter , Daichi knew his *Title* at Hogwarts. He took a deep breath and shouted throughout the Hall as hard as his soft voice would let him.
Daichi looked up and down the Snake table, trying to find that Liar.
Finally spotting him while saying hi's to old and new students. He admired how relaxed the prefect was with them..no , no that wasn't why he was here now.
Daichi walked over to the seventh year with how big his legs would make his steps. "Yaaa! Why'd you do that?!" he questioned grabbing his robe with his right hand, his other had still Mr.Duckels in it. He had wanted to grab the collar but he couldn't reach for it. Daichi shook the robe violently and pouted hard. "Why did you lie to me?! you .. you LIAR!" He was hurt, yes he was.
Someone shouting 'prefect'? FINALLY! Finally someone to welcome him back to house, ask about his summer and save him from looking like a total loser who had been at school for full 6 years but couldn't even have a friend. True, his friends were all in different directions, one not even here, but still it kind of hurt to sit there to talk to the new people instead of his friends. Thus, even though the voice wasn't familiar at all and maybe too soft to belong to even Marie, he turned eagerly to the sound with a huge smile on his face, only to find... the Asian kid... YELLING at him.
Like literally.
With the shock, he couldn't understand what he was talking about at first. Being lyed to? Who lied? Him? He frowned while thinking as the kid desperately tried to shake his robe, the effect barely felt. Oh... Oh. Yeah, now he remembered. This was Daichi, whom he told the sorting was a 3-hour exam. He laughed at the joke again, before it occured to him that it was probably also very annoying to laugh at it while the kid was clearly freaked out.
"I didn't lie!," he said, as he gently took his hand away from his robes. It was threateningly close to his badge. He couldn't let that be damaged.
"It was only a joke." Grin. And a good one indeed, if it got the kid so angry. "So, you're in Slytherin, huh? Welcome to the best house, then." He grinned again and patted his shoulder. No need for any other introductions... the boy had already memorised his face, name and status, obviously.

Kurumi wasn't sure what had brought her over to the Slytherin table, yet here she was about to conduct another social experiment on the Snakes by placing a box of Slytherin cookies right smack in the middle of it.
Having done so, Kurumi looked around the table for...well...someone she already knew wouldn't be sitting here. Biting her lower lip a bit, Kurumi set the cookies down, along with a note saying that they were from her and NOT poisoned - despite that being the popular belief last term - and began to walk along the row of seated students back towards the front of the room.

Cass turned when someone suddenly set a box nearby. Following the arm that had been the origin of said box, she found Kurumi. Of course, not surprise.
She smiled at the Gryffindor and said "Thanks for cookies Kurumi. I'm sure they would taste wonderful." Then she reached in, took one then bit into it.
"I think I'll pass dessert." Mordred said. "There's still breakfast tomorrow." he said as he chewed the last piece of steak on his plate. He neatly placed his fork and knife together signifying that he was done eating. "That was really good." he said as he drank again from his goblet.
"Is it true that Lord Borr will be teaching DADA?" he asked Aurora wiping his mouth. "He's also the new Minister, according to the Daily Prophet."
"The Minister himself is going to be our Defense teacher?" Selador, saw Mordred and Aurora and sidled in next to them. "Sorry I didn't catch you on the train, I fell asleep in one of the compartments. Exhausted from my walk to King's Cross with all of my stuff. It's really good to see you guys again! Did you enjoy the rest of your holiday?"
This place was weird, it would take some getting used to.
His tie and hood changed color to match Mordred's and Aurora's.

"Thank you Cass," Kurumi said nodding her head as she did. "Afraid they are the same recipe as last year, but with just a little more mint added to the frosting." Her heart just hadn't been into making an entirely new cookie just yet.

Tears started in the corner of Daichi's eyes but he held them in. No , he would NOT cry. He was a big boy now!
Then the words: 'It was just a joke' echoed through his mind. "PRETTY LAME JOKE THEN!" Daichi shouted, not getting calmed down at the very least. In fact, when the Prefect had told him it was just a joke he got even more hurt. He felt a gentle hand on his as it was dragged off the older student's robe. The eleventh year old held his arm next to him, his hands making a fist.
He blinked when the Prefect was suddenly so nice to him. Welcoming him to his new house and and......Daichi nodded with a pout and eyes still at the ground with a frown. "thank you" he said softly and then turned his back at the Prefect. He did not want to talk to him at this ti--

He ran walked over to the delicious looking cookies. "Wow! these look amazing!" he said his eyes twinkling as he held Mr.Duckels against him. "Can..can i have one?" he wanted to try one. Daichi's eyes went back to the cookies and then read the little note saying that it was NOT poisoned with a chuckle.
Easier than it looks actually. Jonathan smiled at him "Well Hogwarts is a place of fun." he said. "If you follow these rules too well, you'll never get to have fun." Jonathan did have his pleasure of fun while he's here. Jonathan was getting seconds.
Dessert time. Jonathan loves eating sweets after all. He took a slice of apple pie in front of him and started to take a bite. "What year are you in again?" Jonathan forgot if he had asked Connor that question already. Not that he knows since he's a transferee and not a first year student. "How'd you meet the Gryffindor lady?" Jonathan asked while eating his apple pie in delight. Jonathan asks a lot of questions especially when he's interested to know. So, if Connor was a transferee then how come she knew one of the Gryffindor girls? Perhaps in a party over the summer? Or probably they bumped into each other at Diagon Alley? Or it could be that the 2 of them are childhood best friends?
Connor grinned sheepishly "I'm a 5th year." Connor started to reach over to get a desert but he really didn't want it. What he wanted were some of Kurumi's cookies, but the ones she had made him were in his trunk. he put his hands in his lap. "I met Kurumi in the third hand book shop I was looking for a book about how to feed my kelpie and I found it there and we got talking. Then our families had dinner together and we've sort of been together ever since." He smiled. He looked up and saw the object of his affection placing a box of cookies at his elbow...

Kurumi felt someone touch her arm and she squeaked loudly out of surprise and nearly spun around like a ballerina. Thankfully, she was able to resist such action, but her squeak had been rather loud. Kurumi's somewhat stern expression softened when she saw a younger boy cuddling a stuffed duck. Kneeling down, although he wasn't that much shorter than her to be honest, Kurumi picked up one of the cookies and handed it to him. "Of course you may," she smiled. "That is exactly the reason I made them for. To share with others."
Her eyes drifted to the stuffed duck and she felt a giggle escape her lips. "Who is your friend?" she asked pointing to the duck. "You have picked wisely you know. Ducks are a symbol of honesty, simplicity and resourcefulness."

...Was that a hint of tear in the corner of Daichi's eyes? Aww! Now, that made Evan feel like evil. But it was only a joke! No big deal! His brother had started it, and Evan had just added his part in; it wasn't like he would have told it if the brother hadn't started it! Maybe he should have acted more mature, now that he was 17 and a prefect but even the kid had to admit that it was fun. Though, judging by the shout, little Daichi didn't seem to be admitting it any soon. And Evan had thought this little boy could be his little brother or something...
"Look, I'm sorry if I hurt you, OK?" he said, looking concerned now. Why was he overreacting? He hadn't studied for it, had he? No one would have taken the 3-hour test seriously, after all... Right?! He smiled as the boy thanked him, and was about to offer peace when--

--that Gryffindor girl happened. She had brought cookies again like the last year. Laughing at Daichi's reaction for the cookies, he debated whether to take one or not, but seeing the note he decided NOT to. There was no trusting them, never.
As Daichi had a cookie, he turned at the little man again.
"Peace, aye?" Because he certainly didn't want an eleven year old hunting him down... nah, that would be uncool and disturbing.

Daichi took the cookie from the nice girl and happily nommed on it. It tasted good but he still wondered about the note. "Why would you write they are not poisoned?" he asked with a mouthful of cookie.
He shrugged his shoulders at his own question and ate further. "Dis is willy gwood!" he said and swallowed. Daichi looked as the girl pointed at his ducky with a slight frown. He did not know that! "I didn't know that" Daichi answered with a big smile as he held his ducky out. "This is Mr.Duckels and he's my hero!" He took another bite from the cookie. "You're nice~ unlike SOME people" at the word 'some' Daichi had looked in the corner of his eyes to the Prefect who had walked over towards him...or was it the cookies?

"You're not grabbing a cookie?" he asked him out of the blue.

Selador looked at the food... He had never seen so much food in his life! He only recognized some of it, and filled his plate with a very modest portion of steak and a single scoop of mashed potatoes. No gravy. He only ate about half. It did not take much to satisfy Selador, as his body was used to going without and knew how to store what little food he did eat to last him. Eating too much would make him sick.
This would take some getting used to.
His tie and hood changed color to match Mordred's and Aurora's. He had a family now, in Slytherin, and he couldn't possibly be more happy.
Mordred almost jumped from his seat when he heard Selador's voice. "Where in Merlin's beard were you? I've been looking all over the train for you." Mordred said as he began to relax. "I'm relieved to see you! I've been meeting girls since we last saw each other at Diagon Alley as well as in the train and I started to wonder where all the boys went." he narrated. "Summer was good. I had a great time with my cousins. They spent half of the summer in our mansion. Mum was on the verge of going crazy. There were six of us. Six boys!" he added. "You?" he asked as he watched Selador eat.
Mordred then shifted his gaze to the staff table. The DADA Professor's chair is still empty. Mordred shrugged. "I've heard rumors about him as our DADA professor. I wonder what he's like." he said turning to Aurora and Selador.

Then she smiled "Hey, its alright. Don't worry about it." She would be a bit out of it too if a guy three years her senior would be chasing after her too. It would just be creepy and weird...and more so for Kurumi...just right after Adam had left. Then she patted the girl consolingly on the back "Everything's gonna work out fine, you'll see."

Connor noticed her frown and tried to figure out what had made her frown so then he realized what it was. "Yeah the hat said something about Pureblood and a thirst to prove myself." He shrugged his shoulders. He didn't see what the big deal was. "Are you ok? You seem dazed." He asked softly, his hand still on her arm.

Kurumi giggled and pushed a few strands of her long black hair behind her ears. "Not to put a label on Slytherins, but last year almost no one touched my cookies because some people thought I had put something in them thinking that no one would be so nice as to bake cookies for all the houses," she explained shrugging her shoulders.
She then noticed the boy's gaze shift to someone across from them and her eyes instantly fell on the shinny prefect badge sitting proudly on his robes. She saw the older boy eyeing the cookies, but didn't take one. She supposed that THAT had just proven her point.

"Thanks Cass," Kurumi smiled slouching her shoulders a bit.
She watched as the blonde ate another cookie. "Nice to know that some people at this table will eat my cookies. Last term, I had so many extra Slytherin cookies after the opening feast....I didn't know what to do with them all."

"The Minister himself is going to be our Defense teacher?" Selador, saw Mordred and Aurora and sidled in next to them.
"Sorry I didn't catch you on the train, I fell asleep in one of the compartments. Exhausted from my walk to King's Cross with all of my stuff. It's really good to see you guys again! Did you enjoy the rest of your holiday?"
Selador looked at the food... He had never seen so much food in his life! He only recognized some of it, and filled his plate with a very modest portion of steak and a single scoop of mashed potatoes. No gravy. He only ate about half. It did not take much to satisfy Selador, as his body was used to going without and knew how to store what little food he did eat to last him. Eating too much would make him sick.
This would take some getting used to.
His tie and hood changed color to match Mordred's and Aurora's. He had a family now, in Slytherin, and he couldn't possibly be more happy.

My summer was alright, all my friends are back in Germany though so I didn't get to see them, I ended up perfecting Amortentia in the end though!" She was so proud of that, it was one of the most difficult potions she'd ever tried. "How was yours?" She wondered what it would be like to live on her own.
"Yeah I heard about that. It's all going to be ministry regulated stuff then isn't it, all dull nonsense and nothing exciting. But I suppose we can explore this ninja ship that's appeared!" She smiled at the boys. She supposed they would be in the same dorm, she knew no first year Slytherin girls so she should probably get meeting them. Well, that could wait till the evening.
"Welcome to the snakes!" She said as Selador's uniform changed to match her own.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

Daichi felt bad after listening to her story. Why would anyone say she had put something in the cookies? He looked at the half eaten cookie in his hand and it looked like it was baked by hand. (or wasn't it?). "Uhm, you want to hold Mr.Duckels? It cheers me up" he said and held his plushed ducky out to the girl. "Oh i'm Daichi by the way, Daichi Katharos and i'm new here!" the smile was back again as he watched how the black haired girl looked past him towards Evan.
He saw the look on the girl's face and felt bad again. He turned around to face the Prefect with a look on his face while pointing at the cookies the nice girl had made. "Ya! she made these cookies for us, why aren't you even trying one of them?" he said as he picked a cookie and held it in front of the Prefect's face, trying to shove it in his mouth. "Tryyy~"

Connor looked down. He felt awful, He had promised to wait for her and he would. He just wished he knew why she rejected him. It hurt inside. He sighed softly. He knew she had something on her mind. "If you ever want to talk I'm here for you." he said softly. "Maybe different can be a good thing Kurumi, if you'd only give it a chance." He looked down, light snowflakes fell on his head in his sadness.
Iris nodded and glanced towards the large doors, as if expecting to see Fee walk through the doors. "Oh, I see... You looked a bit lost sat here on your own." He didn't have a clue where she was, did he? ... haha. It never failed to amaze Iris how alike Hugo and Fee were in comparison to Aaron and herself, when they were that age.
As he brought up the fact that it was Iris's last year at Hogwarts, she sighed and chewed the side of her lip. "I'm... sad. I don't want to leave in July. Gonna miss this place." Iris looked up, to the enchanted ceiling. Out of everything in Hogwarts, that was one of the things she was going to miss the most. It was still breathtakingly amazing now, seven years on. Glancing back at Hugo, she chirped up a little, smiling. "But before I leave, there's lots to get done. This is an important year for me!" Yup. Head Girlship. Very, very important business that was.
Hugo smiled a bit absently as he stared at the doors. "Well yes... I was..." he said, blinked and turned back to Iris. He nodded. Hugo would be quite sad to leave Hogwarts too. Thankfully, he had his future planned out. He looked at her, then looked at the enchanted ceiling. It never really hit him, because he had heard about it often so it kindof became normal when he first walked into the great hall. But now that he looked at it, it was amazing. It made him feel warm inside. He looked back at Iris. "Any idea what you might be doing after Hogwarts?" he asked. "I want to be a prefect too when I'm older," he said and glanced at the staff table. Or a teacher... Then he could return to Hogwarts. But he had made his mind, he wanted to be a wandmaker. Well he wanted to be a lot. He wanted to be a cool Quidditch player. He wanted to be a prefect. He wanted to be a wandmaker. But for now he just needed to stay Hugo.

Okay, this was kind of strange for Mina to be even venturing over this directions, but this year was a bit strange for her already. Leaving the safety of her own table, she made her way over to the Slytherin table. She did have a few friends there, so it wouldn't be completely odd for her to be in the area.
Spotting the blond that she last saw not but an hour ago, she smiled. They had parted way once they arrived at the station and that had given her some time to think over everything that was said on the train. Yes, she was a bit sad that he had passed something up so epic, but she did get to spend the next year with him. He's chances were still high, so it wasn't like he wouldn't get a chance again.
Spotting an empty seat beside him, she plopped down. "Hey there handsome," she smiled.

"All I'm saying is that I don't get to meet boys our age in this school." Mordred looked around their table. "Well at least I got Selador here." Mordred slumped his right arm on Selador's right shoulder. Mordred grinned at Aurora. "I'm sure you'll meet someone back in your dorm."
"Ninja ship. That's another thing. I wonder what it's up to." Mordred looked across the hall hoping to see a glimpse of the ship through the stained glass windows.

He was officially the first person I knew at Hogwarts outside my family and the first year. If you need anything please ask me any questions- I'd be glad to help you. So How was the train ride up? " she exclaimed, cheerfully.

Emma tried to think if she had seen her. Well.. maybe they had. But she was glad to have some company. "Nice to meet you Georgiana. I'm a fourth year. How was the train ride up for you?" she asked, before taking a sip of water from the goblet in front of her.
" Emma, so happy to meet you, too" William replied to her." Rex talke about you a lot" William told Emma. " I can't believe I did not listen to Rex, my parents, J.j. Starr and Katalin or Jason Potter Weasley on how a lot of older students do not talk ir really like first years" William explained to Emma." I will ask you questions and I would appreciate yoru help" William smiled. " The train ride was fast" William laughed.

It wasn't that she didn't dream of being a rockstar too once in a while, but it just doesn't seem like a career that a girl like her would chase after. "I prefer something more....mysterious." Then Cass watched as Elle stood up and confronted the young Gryffindor with amusement until the young red head came back with said book.
"So, what was all that about?" She asked after giving the girl a bit of time to cool off.
" Hi and I have been sorted" William told Cass. " I have been sorted in ?Slyth- ,no I was sorted into Gryffindor" William said to Cass. " Yes, I could see you being mysterious" Wiliam agreed with Cass. William thinks to himself, how could Rex like a lot of these girls? None of them are overly nice to him. Well, Fee, Freya, Emma, and a few in Gryffindor and Ravenclaw,

...Peace? Yes? Yay. Evan smiled at the kid, relieved that they had sorted this out. Seriously, it would have been awful to have a little kid running after him to take revenge... or, it would have been even more humiliating to have an angry newbie who refused to talk to him. No, he couldn't endanger his reputation... plus, he liked the kid, so it was better to have normal relations.

As he was about to excuse himself to look for some other people, he was shoved a cookie in his mouth by Daichi. "WHATAREYOUDOIN'!?!?" he yelled as he stepped back, trying to get Daichi off. "I don't want any cookie, OK?!" he said firmly, looking over Kurumi--that ought to be his name, but he wasn't sure... he tended to cease his relations with 'dorks as much as possible.
"And you shouldn't be eating those neither. You won't eat any meal then." Trying not to look too suspicious...

Sitting there with a bunch of new people wasn't fun at all. Yeah, he was getting sociable, something he SHOULD do, but really... he could get sociable later, right? Tonight was to catch up with FRIENDS. Thus, as he was about to excuse himself to go find a friend, his favourite girl sat next to him and it brought a huge smile to his face.
"Hello, pretty," he replied, wrapping an arm around her waist. "And I was just coming to you..."
"Intimidated?" Mordred made a face. He was a bit actually. He just finds it weird why he keeps on meeting girls. He won't talk anyway if he wasn't spoken to. "All I'm saying is that I don't get to meet boys our age in this school." Mordred looked around their table. "Well at least I got Selador here." Mordred slumped his right arm on Selador's right shoulder. Mordred grinned at Aurora. "I'm sure you'll meet someone back in your dorm."
"Ninja ship. That's another thing. I wonder what it's up to." Mordred looked across the hall hoping to see a glimpse of the ship through the stained glass windows.
"Oi, oi, oi. I don't read your mind when you're not looking!" much... "And that's because you don't talk to people. I like to talk to other people, in case you hadn't noticed." Well, most of the time. She had her moments. If anyone ever interrupted her music they would die.
"I'm hoping we can inspect it." She grinned with excitement.

Mina smiled and leaned into him. "Well, I figured I'd come to you this time," she replied. It wasn't fair that he had to come find her. She was a big girl and it was about time she ventured outside her comfort zone a bit. "Besides, I missed you and thought it would be nice to come see my boyfriend at his table."
Her own table was fine and dandy, but she wanted to reconnect with her friends and her own table held only a few friends. Friends that were already busy catching up with their other friends. It only made sense for her to seek out the other friends she had and see them at the moment. The most important, obviously, was seating beside her.
