Hmmm she had no idea about the muggle magic tricks? No worries. "Me neither," Helena said with a shrug, as she suddenly got up to sit with her back straightened. Well, how was she supposed to know MUGGLE magic tricks, when she'd grown up in a wizarding family?

But anyway, she wanted to try at least.

The girl held all the cards in her hands, as if she was holding a fan. Their backs were all facing Helena, while the other parts of the cards were facing Aiden. "Pick one," she grinned, wondering how on Earth she was supposed to guess which card Aiden will pick.

Aiden stares at the fanned deck of cards for a moment and picks a card. "This one," she says while putting her index finger at the top of the card. Aiden has heard a little about this particular trick. Bottoms Up, wasn't it?

Helena waited until Aiden picked a card, and then... she was almost tempted to turn it over to see which one it was. But she didn't to that. She was definitely not going to cheat, even though she'd never seen or did any kind of muggle trick.

She shuffled the cards, this time regretting that she didn't even look at the back of the card, so she could at least recognize it somehow. You know, maybe a scratch on it or something.

Alright. Now the making-a-fool-of-herself part.

She kept staring at the back of each card from her deck, and then finally took one out. "This one?" The girl asked, holding up the Queen of Diamonds.

Aiden is not surprised that Helena picked the wrong card. Who in Merlin's pants would be able to guess without using magic? Legilemency would be a good one!

"Sorry, no," says Aiden with a low voice. Well, now it has been proven muggles cannot do magic.

The blonde Malfoy smiled at her and chuckled. "Wow. The sketch looks really good," admitted Emma. It was the truth, the sketch looked fantastic. "Nice to meet you Maria."

The blonde took a seat next to Maria and nodded. "I'd love to!" exclaimed Emma before really listening carefully on Maria's accent. She sounded.. Italian. Like Emma's friend in the Ministry, Chiara. "So how have you been liking Hogwarts so far?" asked Emma, with a cheery smile.

No?

Eh, Helena expected that, obviously.

Alright. She'll try again. She scanned her cards a little bit (well... the backs of the cards), and she stopped herself before choosing another one. What if... she had to take a specific card? Like... card number... seven. Because Helena liked seven.

So... the girl held the deck in her hand, and then took the first one away, the second, the third... and so on, until she held up the seventh card, which was the Nine of Clubs. "How about this one?" She asked, grinning.

She was definitely not going to get upset because some muggle trick wouldn't work. Hehe.

Maria chuckled. "Thanks" she said.

Maria smiled and flipped to the very beginning. "I drew these before I moved from Italy" she explained. She smiled. "I love it. And I love my family I'm living with. My father's brother's family is great" she said. She would have mentioned her stepsister, but remembered the fact that hit them all hard. Maria sighed a little.

"Wrong again," sighs Aiden, shooking her head. Honestly, how in the world did those muggles do it? The only way possible is reading the spectator's mind which muggles obviously cannot do.

Alright. Helena expected that.

But... she had an idea!

The girl took her wand quickly and pointed it at the deck that she had placed on her bed. "Accio card that Aiden picked!"

Smart. Very smart. Nothing happened, of course. However, the card that was on top of the others seemed to slightly move. Barely noticeable. Helena grabbed it quickly and held it up. "It's this one!" The One of Diamonds. She was SO positive about this one.

"My mother is also sisters with Maries mother." Though at this point she wished that she hadn't said anything in the first place, She'd never had that much contract with that side of the family.

She had spend most of her childhood with the Scott, which turrned out to not be her biological family. But that was another story that not every one knew.

So..... yeah Marilyn, Marie and Caroline where all cousins.

Could that have been possible?

Marilyn tried to think back to every family get together they'd had as a complete family...but the details were hazy. That'd been so long ago.

"It's not that I don't believe you...I just don't remember anything about you..." Her mother, Amelia, had always been a bit more standoffish than the other Malfoy women, something she'd gotten honest from her own mother. "What's your mother's name?"

Caroline nodded slightly. "No its fine. I didn't spend alot of time with that side of the family. I grew up with the Scotts more." She reassured her. The whole family business was a huge mess to her. And it was on both sides.

If Carter hadn't talked about her before and introduced (reintroduced) them she wouldn't have known that was really her."It's been a very long time ago." Well yeah, that mite have been a good idea to begin with. "It's Stephaine."

Marilyn nodded in understanding. That would've made sense, considering her mother didn't even associate with Marie's mother anymore. So was the Malfoy way.

"I won't deny that you look very Malfoy-like...but I don't remember a Stephanie. As it were, that doesn't mean that you aren't telling the truth."

Marilyn wouldn't owl'd her Amelia about such a claim, but unfortunately, that wasn't possible at the moment. How to be for sure, though...?

The blonde Slytherin could perform Legilimens on her...

Caroline shrugged. To be quite honest, she didn't remember either of her mother's sisters. And Marie well let just say that that summer was a huge surprise when she seen Marie at her grandfathers party.

She wasn't trying to prove to anyone who she was. She shrugged again, "Well I am." she said in a calm voice. but really why would she lie about who her like was. She loved them yes, deep down inside she did love and care about her mothers family.But if they wasn't her family why would say she was.

Borr wanted them to try and touch their toes!? Try?! They were children, of course they could touch their toes. The only people who probably couldn't touch their toes were out-of-shape adults, which definitely included Borr. Sierra rolled her eyes as she pushed herself off her bed and stood on the floor in front of her trunk. She peered around the room, checking to see if any of the other second years were around. No one, though.

Good. She hated doing this sort of thing around other people. It was stupid. Ridiculous. She was a Quidditch player, of course she already got enough exercise without Borr's stupid routine. She sighed and reached for her toes. Surprisingly, if she didn't bend her legs at all, she could really only touch her toes with the tips of her fingers. This was ridiculous. She didn't realize it would take time to be able to accomplish this.

She reached for her toes a few more times, not having much luck with doing anything but grazing them with her fingertips. After that day, she practiced a little bit every day, and after a few weeks of this, she was able to grab her toes with her hands and hold that position until she grew bored. Hmm. Well, this was just one more item she could check off Borr's idiotic list. She'd like to see this Borr man try all the ridiculous things he was forcing them to do. Hmph.

It was time for class, so she grabbed a hold of her bag and then left the room.

The blonde Malfoy nodded and flashed the girl a happy smile. "Welcome. It's true." she said, in a singsongy voice.

Emma listened intently to every word the girl was saying. "Oh wow. You used to live in Italy? What part? I went to Italy over the summer to visit a cousin who is living there at the moment," asked Emma, excited. The Malfoy listened again. "That's great. So.. you don't live with your parents?"

Maria smiled brightly.

Maria nodded. "Yes. I lived in Venice" she said. Thankfully, one of the nicer parts. Maria just shrugged. "Well...my parents are divorced. My father actually married his sister-in-law. So it's me, my father, Aunt Willow, and...well, she had a daughter, but the truth was that she's not her daughter. She was...adopted, so to speak" Maria said, biting her lip. "She was here last year. You might have known her. Adrianna Charday?" she asked.

"Lived in Venice? That's awesome! Sadly, I didn't get to go to Venice. I went to the Almalfi Coast and that was just beautiful," exclaimed Emma, her eyes bright with excitement.

Oh. Her parents were divorced?

The Malfoy bit her lip. "Oh, umm.. I'm sorry to hear that Maria. That must be tough. Oh.. I see," began the Malfoy, starting to feel incredibly stupid for asking the girl a question like that. GAH.. EMMA! Adrianna Charday? Hmmm... "Sorry, I don't think I did know her.. What year was she in?"

Maria smiled. "Almalfi Coast is beautiful as well" she said.

Maria shrugged. "Eh. Not much difference. Willow and my father fight just as much as Mama and my father fought" she said indifferently. "She was in her second year. She dropped out, actually, so she could run the wildlife preserve we live on" she said. Seemed like a good choice on her part.

The blonde nodded. "Oh.. Okay, if you say so. I can't imagine living without my parents.." she explained and she instantly thought of her home, her family, and her cat, who she missed a ton. "Oh.. She did? Well, good on her. Honestly, I couldn't drop out. One, my parents would kill me. Two, I'd never get to see my boyfriend, who's not a pureblood and so my parents would forbid me from seeing him. And three, I want to become an Auror or Oblivator. Anyway, what's your favourite class here?" asked Emma, changing the subject with a sweet smile.

Maria nodded. "I got used to it" she said. It had taken a while to get used to Willow, but they had become close after a while. Maria smiled. "Yeah. She also left because her boyfriend did. They had known each other since they were really young. Did you know a...Justin Hendricks?" she asked, tilting her head to the side. She smiled. "Astronomy. Since they don't have like a special, extra-curricular class for art" she said.

The blonde Malfoy gave Maria a sympathetic smile. Man.. Emma would never get used to it. The blonde's face lit up as she heard Justin Hendricks' name. "JUSTIN HENDRICKS!? Merlin's Beard, he was one of my closest friends. We'd eat a lot of candy together.. Goodness- I miss him a lot," she said, frowning a little as she remembered that she needed to send him an owl. Oh Justin. COME BACK TO HOGWARTS!

Ooh, so the first year liked Astronomy that was pretty cool. "Ah.. I understand. Well apart from Quidditch, I love Potions, Charms, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Though, to be honest, I don't really like how we have to do all of this Ministry certified stuff," admitted Emma. DADA last year was amazing. Hands down. "Have you been enjoying your time at Hogwarts?"

Maria smiled wide at Emma's reaction. "That's my step-sister's boyfriend. She was a tad bit taller than him, long, really dark red hair, and midnight blue eyes? That was Adrianna" she explained. "I think we all miss him. I haven't seen either Ad nor Justin since they left Hogwarts. I've no idea where Justin is, and Ad is either in France with family, Japan with our godsister, Ren'Ai, or America all by herself" she said.

Maria nodded. "Yeah, I know. The way I see it, they're not letting us work to our full potential" she said, shrugging. She smiled. "Oh yes!" she said. Of course she was. She got to spend tons of time with Mikey.

Aiden lets go a heavy sigh, shooking her head and jumps off her bed. She paces up and down impatiently. "How did those muggles knew?! It is difficult for us, then it should be impossible for them!"

It probably wasn't the one.

"Ahh never mind," Helena said with a grin, putting away all the cards back in her bag. "Or... do you want to try?" You know, maybe Aiden would be more successful than Helena.

... or maybe not.
