If you know the password, you can make your way through a portal in the stone wall of the dungeon and walk into the Slytherin common room:
The ceiling is low and the walls are made of stone, and even though they seem dank and cold, the room is a very comfortable temperature. There are greenish lamps by black leather couches and chairs, with skulls all around. Some of the chairs had been transfigured into Chaise Lounges by previous seventh years, and never turned back. There are no windows as the common room is located under the lake and a fire burning green in the fireplace, before the rug covered floor. The Slytherin emblem is everywhere, as pride is one of this house's qualities.
This is where Slytherin students are allowed to unwind, study and chat with one another. There is a straircase straight ahead that leads to a room students may use as a quiet place to study, and ask prefects and high scoring students questions. To the left, a staircase that goes down to the Boys Dorm, and to the right a staircase that leads to the Girls Dorms. Beside each staircase is self inking quill and parchment with the words Attendo Thea Vipera on it.
On the side of the fireplace is a Notice Board for class and homework announcements, as well as general announcements and signup sheet with the words 20 minutes max on it, for those wanting to sit on the couch and stare at the fire all emo like. On one of the coffee tables you see a copy of the Slytherin Scroll, a newsletter only for Slytherin Students.
A box is on an end table, where you may sign up for or to be a Serpent Sidekick, and a podium with a copy of Hogwarts a History, which is where you will learn that even though the whole dungeon had once been flooded, nothing was waterlogged or permanently damaged.
Sam was sitting in his usual corner of the common room and watching everyone interact. He had a book in his lap as usual, only this time he was just holding it rather than reading it. It was already February, and he didn't know anyone. Really. No one. He had preferred books to people for most of the term, and he was beginning to regret that now. He was a little angry with himself for his shyness. It didn't seem to be this hard for everyone else. Everyone had their little groups of friends, and he didn't have anyone. He was starting to think it was probably too late to form any real friendships. He sighed and picked his book back up. Guess it was a good thing he had those; they weren't already too busy with their other book friends for him.
Freya entered the Slytherin common room after her long strolls in the grounds. She was really cold even though its already February but the weather was still freezing and she didn't like it, quickly she sat down on one of the couch. Ahhh..Finally some heat. She looked around hoping to catch some familiar faces but she couldn't find one then her gazed stopped at the older Slytherin boy who sat alone reading his book. "Hello." she greeted the boy. "Mind some company?" she asked the boy with a smile. "I'm Freya. Freya Salvatore." she offered her hand to shake.
After having a really bad day, Roxana fall into one leather chair near the fireplace. She sight.
She had a real bad migraine and couldn't concentrate on anything. She even missed class all day and slept quite long.
But now she felt a bit better and waited till she found a person she knew and she could talk to.

Fee would die without Hugo. "That's so sweet hun. I hope you guys are always together because I don't wanna lose one of best friend." she said.
"Yeah me too. Its great to share a Christmas with you girls." she said smiling widely. She didn't know how Christmas would like without her two besties.
Awww Freya was being sooo incredebly cute.Hehe.Seriously what would the blonde do without her besties?!"Aww hun you would never ever lose me",she shook her head,"no matter what."
It was freaky how long Christmas was ago again, the girl felt likie two months agao and now it was february."Soon its gonna be spring",she smiled,"i need a new floral dress."
"Umm..Yeah that must be it." Freya nodded her head. She automatically followed Cass gaze towards the wall. She wondered what's like to have a window with an actual view like the other houses.
"You're welcome." she gave Cass a smile. "You should sing more hun. You have a pretty voice." she told her best.
"Thanks darling." Cass answered gratefully as she set the guitar aside. Then she smiled "I would, but...I dunno, there are a whole lot of people who are way better than me. I would hate to look plain next to them."
Aiden came into the common room looking all dreadful. Her robes are dusty and she looks like she has not eat for a decade. Slowly dragging her feet further inside the common room, Aiden takes a seat on a sofa. She wants to take a short break first. Bathe... Lunch... Homeworks...

Cass looked up from her perch on a chair by the fire and saw a disgruntled looking little first year enter the common room looking like she had just been trampled over a herd of hippogirffs or something of the like.
"Hey, are you alright?" She asked as the girl takes a seat from the sofa across from her

Aiden tilts up her head and sees a third year sitting on a sofa across her. As she frowns, there is an obvious expression of exhaustion on her face."I'm alright,"smiled Aiden faintly."Just a little tired,"she shrugs.
Really, she is alright. Only that her energy drains easily whenever she does activities those involve a lot of physical movements.
With his nose perfectly fixed and all the blood cleaned from his robes, Evan entered the common room exhausted. But at least, one of his worries was proved to be wrong: Mina didn't detest him for punching Carter, and nor did she think he still loved Marie. That was a huge relief, considering Mina mattered the most in his life, and he was delighted to know that she was still there for him.
Pleased that the common room was almost empty, since it was past 23, he got to the longest sofa in front of the fire and lay down, eyes closed, though his mind was too frantic to fall asleep. His head throbbed, but he was content for the outcome, save for the Marie part, that he got to both punch Carter thrice, and could get away with it, in Mina's eyes at least. He still had a Marie to deal with... he had to, but he didn't want to. It would be better if he could avoid her for some time, prefably through the end of the term.

Cass smiled, good. At least the girl was alright, it would be terrible if they had to haul her all the way up to the hospital wing or something. "Ah. Of course." She answered with a nod. Exhaustion. But what could she possibly have been doing to make her that tired? We're the classes THAT hard?
She wished there was something she could do for the poor girl, then remembered something! She turned sideways to dig out a bar of chocolate from her bag and snapped one-third off of it then handed it to her
"Here, maybe the sugar rush would help you." She said

Marie wasn't able to sleep. She was still fuming mad over what had happened earlier in the day with Evan and Carter. After she was done talking to Carter she had gone on a manhunt looking for Evan but had no luck finding him. He couldn't hide from her forever though, they were in the same house and were bound to run into each other... eventually.
Making her way into the common room from the dorm room she noticed someone laying on the sofa. Crud! She thought she would be alone since it was so late.
She was just about to sit in her favorite comfy chair in front of the fire when she noticed just who it was laying there... looking like he was asleep.
EVAN!
Abandoning all thoughts of sitting in the chair she went over to the sofa and flicked him hard on the nose. "Wake Up! We need to talk... NOW!" And just to make sure he didn't try to get away from her, she sat on his legs.
He wasn't running away from her again. He was going to explain himself to her this time.

Evan heard in the empty room someone's moving towards him, and just thought it was Daichi or something that thought he was asleep, or up for a good conversation. But all thoughts of a nice wake-up was destroyed with a hard flick on the nose.
Opening his eyes to fume at whoever just did that, he heard the voice at the same time and sank his head back in the hard cushion of the sofa. Just the person he had plans of avoiding for pretty much the left of the term...
"You don't have to sit on my legs, Marie, I won't run away," he said in a tired voice, as he opted to keep the comment of 'Like Carter' at the end. He closed his eyes again. He didn't have to eye her... yet.

Yeah right she didn't have to sit on his legs. "I think I'll just stay right here for now." She wasn't moving from her spot now. Not until he was done explaining himself. He ran away from her once today, what was to stop him from doing it again? "I believe you owe me an explanation so start talking. Why would you accuse me of cheating on you?" And why after almost four years was he bringing this up?

Evan sighed. His legs would hurt at the end of this, he couldn't afford that. He couldn't afford even a light pinch when he was so close to a contract. Opening his eyes, he looked into hers directly to show he was not joking. "Marie, seriously. Get off my legs. I don't want to point this out, but you're not that skinny girl of 13 year-old anymore." If it took to be sliiightly rude to get her off, let it be. He was't afraid of talking what was on his mind anymore to her.
Letting out a sigh again, an exhausted one this time, he eyed her and said "Why do you want me to explain anything? You got everything sorted out with that 'friend' of yours--that I talked badly of you in the first place. Now, leave me alone." Pssh, why bother explaining that he did not say such a degrading thing if she was that prejudicial even at the beginning?

Did he just call her FAT?!
He just kept digging himself into a deeper hole here.
"I don't think I can get up. I'm way too fat to move now." She said sarcastically as she bounced a little on his legs. Gee, how did she make it around the castle every day. If he wanted her off his legs then he would just have to move her himself now.
And still he refuses to defend himself here. "I thought maybe you might want to tell me your side of the story. You know, tell me what you really said." As much as she believed what Carter told her, she knew there were two sides to every story. "I guess I was wrong though. I guess it's hard for you to tell your side when you can't think of a lie to tell me." She had really hoped that Carter had been wrong, that Evan hadn't said those things about her. But Evan's silence about it... again, was enough to convince her that Carter had been right all along.
Getting up off his legs she looked down at him. "I guess our friendship doesn't mean enough to you to try and save it." She was beginning to wonder if they had ever been friends now. "I'm sorry I ever bothered you but don't worry, I won't bother you anymore. I have plenty of other friends Evan, I don't need a friend who is just going to bad mouth me and then not even explain to me why they did it."
Heading back towards the stairs to her dorm room she didn't even bother looking back at him. Why should she when it was obvious that he didn't want to be her friend anymore.

Oh, great. Now it was sarcasm time. Evan rolled his eyes exaggeratingly and tried to shuffle his legs into a better position until she saw the sense to get up. He didn't really want to tell her that she had to get up for the health of his legs. He'd only told it to Mina that he was doing well to attract some football clubs... and until he got that contract signed, he wanted to keep it that way for being superstitious about it.
WHAT?! LIES?! He snorted at that, and opened his mouth to defend himself, but she was speaking... no, ranting, so he had to shut it back and listen to her. He was glad she decided to move off though, so he quickly got himself up to a sitting position and got his legs under himself so as not to let her pull such a trick again. He listened on... and then there was no Marie to listen to.
"Not again," he grunted to himself, and got to his feet quickly. Walking after her quickly, he held her arm firmly. If she sat on his legs, he would hold onto her arm firmly.
"Now you listen to me," he started, looking into her eyes. "I won't apologise, Marie," he clarified from the beginning, in case she waited one now that he showed some effort to explain. "Because I don't think I'm wrong. I'm tired of apologising to you every time, and I've had enough of your jumping conclusions with some other people about me without consulting to me first. Then, every time, I have to first break that prejudice, and if I can, then I have to convince you. And frankly, I've had enough." He loosened his grip on her arm, but his hand was still there in case she tried to walk away. "And just to remind you, this--in any way--does NOT mean that I said anything about you at all. I'll only speak if you're ready to put whatever crap Carter told you aside, and listen without any kind of prejudice." If she wasn't able to do that, then there wasn't much point in trying to save this friendship.

Marie was almost to the stairs leading to her dorm room when Evan grabbed her arm. "Let go of me Evan!" She tried pulling away from him but he was holding her too tight for her to get away. Instead she had to stand there and listen to him rant.
O__O
What?!
HE was tired of apologizing? "WHEN have you EVER apologized to me Evan? You NEVER take responsibility or own up to ANYTHING you ever do! You always blame someone else. Just like now, instead of you telling me what you really said you're blaming Carter for everything." Pulling her arm some more she tried getting away but still couldn't. "I wouldn't HAVE to jump to conclusions if you would explain yourself when things happen. I ASKED you to explain yourself earlier but instead you just ran off without saying anything to me. What the hell was I supposed to think? If you were as innocent as you claim then you would have defended yourself to ME in front of Carter."
Feeling his grip loosen on her she pulled her arm away from him then punched him in the chest. "How many damn times do I have to ask you to explain your side of the story Evan? How many times do I have to ask you to tell me what you REALLY said?" Obviously more than two times since she had already asked him twice. "I'm sorry you feel I'm such a hard person to be a friend with Evan but you know what, I've NEVER talked bad about you, not even to Carter. I defend you to him and make sure he knows you're my best guy friend. Although now I'm wondering why I even bother at all. Apparently you don't feel the same way about me." If he did then he would try harder to convince her he didn't say anything bad about her. Instead he tells her he's had enough of her.
Cass smiled, good. At least the girl was alright, it would be terrible if they had to haul her all the way up to the hospital wing or something. "Ah. Of course." She answered with a nod. Exhaustion. But what could she possibly have been doing to make her that tired? We're the classes THAT hard?

Hesitantly, Aiden accepts the chocolate for the third year."Thank you,"she said mellowly. Thank Slytherin that their common room is in the dungeons! If it is on the seventh floor or tower, she would have fainted.
Aiden munches the chocolate slowly. She realised that she has not introduced herself yet."I'm Aiden, by the way. Aiden Heartnett."
Marie was almost to the stairs leading to her dorm room when Evan grabbed her arm. "Let go of me Evan!" She tried pulling away from him but he was holding her too tight for her to get away. Instead she had to stand there and listen to him rant.

Evan raised his eyebrows with growing anger every minute. She hadn't jumped to conclusions? Oh, so it was him that totally misheard words that she never said, was it?! He glared at her. SRSLY! She always thought she was the right one, but she wasn't. No wonder why Carter and Finn broke up with her, with that anger and ego issues of hers! He bet Matty wouldn't be able to put up with her more than one year.
"Right," he snapped, throwing his arms in the air. "It had been Mina who ranted about me of blaming you with cheating right after hearing ONLY Carter!" If she wanted to make this hard for both of them, let it be! He wasn't backing off here. "It had also been her who showed no sympathy to my broken nose, but ran to that scum! I'm sorry I made it all up about your actions--you're an angel." Huge sarcasm there. Taking a few deep breaths, face red with anger, he closed his eyes for a moment as his head throbbed crazily with frenzy, vision blacked out. Before he could regain his eye-focus however, he was hit AGAIN.
"You were SO engrossed in listening to him that I honestly didn't know how to get your attention," he replied with as much force in his voice. "Never in my life have I talked bad about you, Marie," he went on, softer this time, as if to calm her down. "And I'm glad I have you defending me." He truly was. Despite that scum-bag of Carter, who must have given them a love potion to make them love him that much, he was surprised they still defended him fiercely. "And I feel the same about you. But see, this attitude of yours--pisses--me--off." He looked into her eyes, much softer this time. "Let's not lose our friendship either over him again, Marie. I love you--" he eyed her to make sure she didn't think of it as a romantic interest, "and I've never said that you've cheated on me. Not then, not once in my life. But I'll only explain if you're willing to listen without any prejudice... sit with me there." Because, his head seemed to try to split into two, and it was hard to focus on both standing up and speaking in such intensity.
Aurora fell into a sofa in the common room. Quill and parchment in hand. She had no idea what to write... she stared at the plain parchment for a few minutes, chewing the end of her quill and scowling. A small tear escaped her eye and she brushed it away. She rolled up the plain parchment and curled up, staring into the fire and wishing she was back at home.

Marie just glared at Evan now. He STILL wouldn't take responsibility for his actions. Instead now he was accusing her of not owning up to what she did. Seriously, does he EVER listen to a word she says? She told him she wouldn't have to jump to conclusions if he would explain himself yet he rambles on now like she was the one trying to get out of what she did. "Yeah, you're right Evan, I did ALL those things. I totally ignored YOU to take care of Carter. I didn't bother asking YOU for YOUR side of the story at ALL because Carter is the only one I EVER believe. It was ME that made YOU run off without so much as one little word to try and defend yourself in front of the one YOU say is lying. What the hell did you expect me to think after you ran off like that? Did he really think she was going to believe he didn't say those things about her after he ran off without even trying to convince her differently?
"Oh don't give me that crap. You knew exactly how to get my attention. I'd say punching Carter and practically knocking me over when you did it was a damn good way to get my attention. Then again, you wouldn't know that because YOU ran off after you punched him." Did he even care that she had been caught in the crossfire of that punch? No, all he seemed to care about was yelling at her for how wrong she was about everything. Eight he's never talked bad about her. "You have a funny way of showing that you feel the same way Evan." He didn't even care enough about her to try and sort this mess out earlier. If he valued their friendship at all he would have never ran off without telling his side of the story.
Really... just... really...
"My attitude pisses you off? I just wanted to know what the hell it was that you really said to Carter but I guess I was wrong to want to know that. Sorry my attitude is preventing you from telling me what really happened." What had she been thinking trying to get his side of the story. "I love you too Evan. You're my best friend..." (well on the male side that is) "...but if our friendship ends now it is NOT because of Carter. Don't you dare try to blame him for this one. You can blame yourself for not being man enough to tell me what really happened." Really, this whole argument could have been avoided if he would have just taken two minutes and told her what he really said. She would have then seen what a huge misunderstanding everything had been and this whole argument would have never happened. But apparently it was because of her attitude that they were fighting now. "I'm tired of telling you that I want to hear your side of the story Evan. Why is it so hard for you to believe that?" Moving away from him she sat in her favorite chair not leaving any room for him to sit with her and her fat self. "Well go on, I'm listening. What do you have to say for yourself?" If he failed to tell her anything now then she would know that he really said it. This was the fourth time she had asked him for his side of the story. She wasn't going to ask him again. She shouldn't have even had to ask him more than once. Then again, she shouldn't have had to ask him at all.
Really... just... really...

Okay, now that she put it all in that view of her sarcasm... Evan did feel juuust a tiny little bit of guilt, but not more. He was still after all his reasons for running away. However, maybe, if he had told her his side, all these could have been avoided. Hmm. Interesting thought.
Shoot, he knocked her off? He opened his mouth to apologise for that, but then decided against it. No, she was way too angry to hear any apologies, and he didn't believe he could handle another session of rage. He pulled another chair and sat down finally. Massaging his head for a moment, he then looked up at her, took a breath, and started explaining his side of the events.
"Let's not... insult each other, shall we?" An insult to his manhood. He may not be the couragest of all, and he may have wished to have avoided her better now, but he wasn't a chicken not to talk to her at all. He sighed. "It all started when we saw each other at the stairs. We greeted each other..." Leaving out the part he insulted him, "and then, all of a sudden he punched me because I announced we were onto next stage with Mina. The stage where we admit our love for each other." What the hell was wrong with that to punch a prefect?! Not that he'd ever go to a professor for that, but still... "Then he insulted my choice of football... and then I punched him." He said that as if it was the most natural thing to do. He'd had enough of his parents at home, he didn't need a troll-brained 'dork to critisise his choice here either. "And then he chickened out, I think. I don't know... I asked the only logical question, that if he got into Gryffindor with deceit too, like he got together with you. He said he had been a good boyfriend and all that crap. He also pointed out that Mina loved him too, at some point." He took a breath at that to calm himself down. Only cowards would bring such things up... no wonder he bribed the Sorting Hat either.
"And then that--" okay, no insults anymore, "--friend of yours completely misunderstood me. I said he only tried to influence you to cheat, but that you refused. He missed the last point--didn't want to hear--I dunno. I never, NEVER said you cheated on me. I said the opposite in fact--that you never even thought of that--that you were loyal. But, maybe to twist the... discussion from his... 'noble' ways, he was stuck by the sentence 'you influenced her' and then it was impossible to make him see the sense." He waited for a few moments to let those sink in. He didn't want to rush her so that she was stuck somewhere either.
"And the reason I mentioned that in the first place isn't because I'm not over you. I love Mina, and I'm the happiest man with her." By now, he was looking into her eyes directly to show he wasn't running away or lying. "But frankly Marie, I'm not over his effect on you. I dunno, I can never get how he affects you two so easily... I'd rather have you turn to me and say 'Okay Evan, he says these... but what is your story?' without ANY kind of accusation. Not even the slightest. But instead, you told me 'Really Evan, I'd have expected you to move on.' This is accusation Marie, and I can't accept that even after twenty years." Now, all cards were open, and hopefully she was sensible enough to hear his words well.

Marie watched as Evan rubbed his head. Oh great, now he was probably going to accuse her of giving him a headache. But he didn't, instead he acts like she was insulting him. Well... truth hurts doesn't it. "Fine, no insults." She sat there and listened as he finally told his side of the story. When he was finished talking all Marie could do was shake her head a little. "What am I going to do with you boys?" She asked with less anger now. "You know that Carter is Mina's best friend, just like you're mine. And we ALL know that you and Carter pretty much hate each other. Was it really necessary to bring up your relationship with Mina to him? You're a smart guy Evan, I'm pretty sure you knew something like that, no matter what your meaning, would anger him."Just like she knew how much it angered Caroline when she taunted her about Carter.
Oh Merlin. Evan and his stinking football. She wasn't even going to comment on that one because she still didn't like that sport herself and she was sure that whatever she said would only anger Evan again and then they would be yelling at each other again.
Okay, now that made her mad her off... again, but she tried her best not to show it. "Really, you think Carter deceived me just to get with me Evan? You really don't believe in me at all do you? Do you really find it so hard to believe that I really did like Carter and that he really did treat me good? He was a good boyfriend to me Evan and even though our relationship ended the way it did, I won't take away how good he treated me before all that love potion crap. Just like I won't take away how good you and I were together... before you disappeared." It was true, both boys had treated her wrong in the end but they had also both been good to her too. That she would never take away from either of them. Hearing him say carter told him about Mina living him she just rolled her eyes. "Did you ever stop to think that maybe he said that to get to you for what you were saying about him?" It was true, Mina had at one time been in love with Carter. Marie knew that very well herself. It was because of Mina's love for Carter that the two girls didn't get along at all in he beginning.
So, he didn't actually say she cheated on him but he did say Carter tried getting her to cheat on him. Well now, if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black. Who was it just last term was pretty much cheating on Mina? Who was it that was flirting around every chance he got with a certain Gryffindork prefect? And no, she wasn't talking about Patroclus here. "Believe it or not Evan, Carter did not ever try to get me to cheat on you. He was nothing more than a friend that was trying to help me find you. He knew how much I was hurting by not knowing where you were. He never did anything to betray the friendship we had." Sure, Carter may have been falling for Marie at the time, but he never let on to her about it.
"Trust me Evan, I know you're over me and I made sure Carter knows it too. I let him know that you are in love with Mina and that we are only friends, nothing more." Okay, now that one she wasn't expecting. "His effect on me?" Oh, that. "You know, the way I reacted is no different than the way you two were reacting with each other. I may not have spelled it out at first but I did ask you to explain yourself..."
What the hell!? Did he really hear her say those words? "THAT is NOT what I said Evan. I said after four years you bring this crap up again." That was NOT her saying he hadn't moved on. "You know, this whole fight was nothing more than a HUGE misunderstanding from everyone involved, and I still don't know why you would bring something up that happened so long ago. I really thought we had gotten past all that Evan." She hated this. Evan was her best friend and Carter and her were just starting to be friends again. Why couldn't they just all get along? Everyone had moved on and was happy with someone else now.
