"My deal?" The blonde stopped abruptly, dropping her hands to her side. Her eyes were wide as she took in his appearance. "You think you can speak to me however you wish earlier...When it was between Caroline and myself..." She was getting irritated again. "You were sitting at MY house table and told me leave. You Gryffindors are all the same!"
She smacked his cheek again, her eyes watering on their own accord. "I'm so TIRED of you Gryffindor boys!"
Jai looked at her as she stopped and started a new tirade."She is my friend and I was defending her especially in her current state. I didn't know you were cousins even though I've heard of you." he said, his voice low with a jagged edge to it.
He let out a low feral growl from his throat as she hit him again and advanced on Marilyn."Don't hit me again."he said punctuating eachword with warning.He ran a frustrated hand through his dark hair before he said,"I'm sorry if they hurt you but I didn't. Why can't you see that?"

Jai looked her dead in the eyes and said,"I'm not going to let you go until you calm down." He turned suddenly changing their positions, putting her back to the wall.

Marilyn was trying to keep the tears at bay but was ultimately unsuccessful. At this point, the Gryffindor was pulling her into his arms and pushing her into the wall...Calm down? She was way past that point...
"You don't understand...GET OFF ME!!" She was fighting against his grip, but failed miserably.
Jai could see her breaking down the wall she'd built up. He didn't let her go."Marilyn, I know you're passed livid but this isn't good." he whispered in her ear as his own anger evapourated when he saw the tears fall from her eyes.
He never saw someone so angry and all he wanted to do was comfort her. He couldn't fathom why he would want to help someone who sought to attack him.

Marilyn sobbed openly on his shoulder, clinging to him for dear life. How had she been reduced to a pile of tears? When had things gotten so bad? The more she thought about it, the harder the sobs came.
"I'm....so....sorry..." For what, the blonde didn't know...but she knew that she felt pretty sorry...Sorry and pathetic. Here she was trying to beat up some boy for being rude to her...Plenty of people had been rude to her lately. He wasn't special or anything. Why had it upset her so much?
Jai rubbed at her back, hoping he could erase some of the pain as well. She came at him, angry and frustrated. All she wanted for him to fight back but he somehow didn't. It pushed her passed the red haze and brought to her present release valve.
"You don't have to say it. It's ok." he reassured her as she hung unto to him. "You don't have to tell me anything but if you want to talk, my ears are yours." he said, his voice was smooth, calm and quiet. It seemed that no-one really knew how to get through to her hence she bottled up everything. Her fits of rage was a release valve that didn't do much for her. Everyone else either tried to fight her or cowered under her anger. He stood his ground and allowed her to strike out at him until she was no longer holding up the wall that held everything inside.

She was unsure how long she'd been in this position, crying on his shoulder...The fabric under her cheek was soaked, though.
Pulling back a little, still holding onto him, she sighed. "This is embarrassing..."
Jai felt her tears touch him, literally. She cried until they soaked through his shirt. He felt it no sooner than him feeling her pull back from him. Looking down at her, he tried to met her green eyes as she felt embarrassed at her actions. He let out a low yet warm chuckle and said,"It's nothing to be embarrassed about but if it makes you feel any better, I won't tell anyone. It can be our little secret.", as a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
He didn't miss the fact that she still held unto him as he clung to her. What was it about her that mesmerized him so? It wasn't her blonde hair. He did like looking at her now glistening green eyes that looked like emeralds setting into a beautiful face. But he still didn't know why he felt he had to comfort the same girl who not once but twice slapped him. He didn't care about that anymore.

I mean you could tell the whole school that you a girl beat me up. I don't even know why I'm so concerned about how you feel but I genuinely am." he said.
Looking her in those green eyes he said," If you don't want anything else to do with me, I'll walk away right now. We never have to speak again. If that's what you want." Jai knew it wasn't his responsibility to be here, comforting her but he had a feeling compelling him to do so.

Marilyn caught him backing away...and sighed in relief. Ever since being held in captivity for almost 3 years...situations were she felt trapped were avoided. Not that she felt helpless, because she didn't. He was just into her personal space...Her bubble. Yes, the blonde had cried on his shoulder (even clung to him like a lifesaver)...but that didn't mean Jai needed to remain so close to her...
What did he just say? "Want anything to else to do with you? I DON'T EVEN REALLY KNOW YOU..." Her face was still damp with tears and she frowned...Embarrassment washed over her in waves. This was just...UGH!

Jai rolled his eyes and finally lost it. There was nothing more upsetting about someone who refused to just 'let it go.'"Marilyn, just stop. It's unfortunate that you feel that way. But you can't go around beating people, pushing people away because of your past. I don't. Yeah, you don't know me I get that but you need to get this I never did anything to you except stand here and let you soak my shirt with your tears. I let you hit me because I refused to fight you back." He said as he raked a frustrated and angry hand through his hair.
He laughed bitterly,"You are not much better than whoever hurt you. You stand there screaming about how Gryffindor boys are this and that, making you feel however they want, when you're doing the same thing to me. How do you figure that?"
He stepped further away from her and turned his back as his scrubbed his hands over his face. He whirled back on her and said,"Next time decide to give me whip lash with your mood swings give me a heads up." He folded his arms across his chest and leaned against the wall.
Rafe was wondering around the castle and went by the suit of armor. He had so many good memories there. Some he sometimes wished he could relive, but felt further and further away from that actually happening. He then caught a scent…her scent. He began to listen closely. It was definitely her. And someone else…someone with high levels of testosterone.
He decided to go further down the second floor corridor to inquire what was going on, but still kept his distance. With his high sense of hearing he listened closely to what was going on. She was upset and confused and he, whoever he was, was getting a little too touchy for his liking. This guy knew nothing about her and he was trying to be all comforting and swoop in all over her. Rafe was getting more and more angry and came close to hexing the guy when he heard her scream. But, then he could smell her tears. Those tears were Rafe’s fault.
She sounded a little desperate, like she really needed someone to talk to. And maybe that was best for Marilyn; to have someone outside the loop give a new perspective. Though Rafe would much rather prefer if she confided in a girl, not Mr. Handsy. And what if she revealed to him what Rafe was in all this? It wasn’t just her secret at stake.
“Nasty, male Gryffindor friends”… Rafe knew that was more or less directed at him. Those words caused a stinging pain in his heart. Marilyn made him sound like some kind of controlling monster that never once cared about her or did anything for her. "And if you'd have been through what I have, you'd feel like an paranoid, emotional basket case, too!" Her voice was raising in octaves, but she couldn't help it. The guy just had a way of getting under her skin...
Suddenly, she heard another voice shouting down the corridor...A familiar earthy voice that she could have placed anywhere. She whirled around, glaring daggers at the approaching Gryffindor, her ex-boyfriend. "What in the bleeding hell are you doing here?" Rafe looked incredibly angry about something and in her subconscious, Marilyn snidely wondered if perhaps it was due to that female he'd been with earlier...A bunch of things were flying from his lips, but the blonde didn't focus on the first thing. She was too astonished to be seeing him at the exact moment.
Marilyn had NOT forgotten about Rafe and the other Slytherin female at her House table. The way that girl was touching on his hands, laughing and giggling at one another. Making plan to meet up and fly this summer...

Marilyn's face whipped around, levelling the Gryffindor with another mean look. "I'm not making you feel anything..." She wasn't quite sure what he was insinuating. "And if you'd have been through what I have, you'd feel like an paranoid, emotional basket case, too!" Her voice was raising in octaves, but she couldn't help it. The guy just had a way of getting under her skin...

Though Rafe would much rather prefer if she confided in a girl, not Mr. Handsy. And what if she revealed to him what Rafe was in all this? It wasn’t just her secret at stake.
“Nasty, male Gryffindor friends”… Rafe knew that was more or less directed at him. Those words caused a stinging pain in his heart. Marilyn made him sound like some kind of controlling monster that never once cared about her or did anything for her. And then Mr. Handsy got all “I never did anything to you except stand here and let you soak my shirt with your tears…blah, blah, blah.” Then, he acted like he knew what exactly was going on… That’s it! Rafe couldn’t take it anymore.
Rafe came rushing down the hall. “LISTEN YOU!” He yelled as he stepped between some Gryffindor he’d never seen and Marilyn. “YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED AND ARE GIVING HER SOME REALLY MESSED UP ADVICE!” Rafe puffed out his chest and could feel his blood boiling with anger. In a way he didn’t know if he was more angry at the git in front of him or the ex behind him. After all, she was about to go into some deep information with a complete stranger.
Jai threw his hand up and said,"You have no idea what hell I've been through in my life, so don't you dare make any assumptions about me.", his voice deepened as he remembered his own dark past.
But before Jai could continue, another boy approached them screaming at him. "What the...?! Oh I've heard enough from her to know she's pretty upset." Jai said, calmly but in a venomous tone. He looked at the boy's face a recognized him as a Gryffindor. He looked between the two and judging by Mariyln's shocked expression he realized they knew each other."Unless you have something better to say to me or her, you'd better back off. Now." Jai was generally a gentle person in nature but he had a dark streak that at this moment was his only defense. He stared the other boy in the eyes, not backing down.

After everything...Her eyes were mere slits, turning from the two males to search for her blasted wand...This only tiffed her off more. How stupid was she?! To just throw her wand to the side so she could punch some guy...
Which brought Marilyn back to the matter at hand...
Not having success in finding the piece of wood, she faced the boys again...What was going on? They were toe-to-toe, staring each other down like two king cobras..."Rafe...you need to stop..."

Jai felt heat behind his eyes as a familiar rush of coldness rushed through him. His eyes darkened and his grin was wicked,"Don't speak to her like that. Didn't your parents teach you not to speak to a lady like that. I don't understand, why are you butting in? Are you one of the guys she's been talking about? It's not like I was threatening her, that you needed to come charging." he said, in a smooth, dangerously low and cold voice. His wicked grin widened,"You hurt her didn't you? Now, I'm paying for it. It looks like you're the git."
Jai knew if he kept calm and spoke the truth he somehow realized, he would get under this boy's skin. He was good at that. It was like biting and allowing the venom to spread slowly.

"My parents taught me a lot of things and one was, 'the wolf finds a reason easily, if he wants to eat the sheep'...as in don't mess with me boy or you'll get hurt," he snarled. This guy kept antagonizing Rafe and that was just giving him more of a reason to put him in his place. "You NO NOTHING about me! And you NO NOTHING of which I've done for her, not against her!" Rafe gave Jai a little shove on the shoulder. He didn't have to take this. He didn't need some strange guy telling him that he had hurt Marilyn. He felt that every moment of everyday, he didn't need to hear it from someone who didn't know the whole story.
"Don't speak in that tone if you know what's good for you." Rafe outstretched his hand as if he was creating more of a barrier between Jai and Marilyn. It was a territorial instinct. And the more Jai spoke the angrier Rafe got as his eyes once green went solid black.
