The red headed man entered the classroom and opened the door for the student to spill in. He turned to the blackboard and chalked on there the words:

Ancient Runes
Professor Tristan Christiansen
Norwegian Ministry of Magic

Then he maticulously placed the chalk in a row after which he sat down.

Daichi literally jumped up from his seat and ran to the front of the class and stood with his plushed duck in his arms in front of the professor with the funny accent. "I want to be a viking too~!" he almost squealed and frowned when they were suppose to tell a rune name before he was going to transfigure their clothes.

But... HE DIDN'T KNOW ONE! Daichi scratched the back of his head, trying to think of a rune. Maybe he should have learned this subject a bit before school started....Wait! he had a text book! DUH! , Daichi picked his text book up from his desk and looked through the pages , he wanted a cool meaning. His eyes landed on Sowilo.

"Soilo!" Or something like that... "It means the Sun and uhmm.." that was it.

He was really going for this Viking stuff, well, she was half Swedish, so this should be easy, shouldn't it? Apparently not. "If you mean the Germanic runes runes, then I think 'Wunjo' means Joy." She traced out the spikey P shape of the rune when she was saying it.

Why on Earth did everyone want to dress like pirates, such disgusting clothes. Perhaps I will give an answer and suck it up since every one else seemed to be enjoying it.
Chloe raised her hand and said, "Fehu means wealth and I just want class credit no pirate stuff please.".

He was convinced. More than convinced. The Norweigian Minister had already won him over with the promise of a costume and Jimbo had frozen in shock and delight. But when he mentioned the beard...

Well, let's just say Jimbo couldn't get out his textbook quick enough.
He didn't know any runes off the top of his head so he had to consult his textbook, which he hadn't initially bothered to take out of his schoolbag. Scanning it quickly, he found one that looked rather like a tree and went with it.

Leaving his textbook behind, he rushed over to the teacher.

"Fehu. The rune that directly translates into 'money' or 'wealth' and means nourishment or reward. May I be a viking with a superlong beard now, please Professor?"

He chuckled. "Ja, you are correct." And he transfigured him, making sure his beard was extra long.

Ancient Runes were not her best subject but it interested her. They were ancient. And all... runey. When he told the class that he could transfigure them into a viking and possibly have beards, her eyes. Wider. WIDERRRR. "MEEE MEE MEE!" she volunteered, immediately standing up and taking her textbook with her, utterly clueless of any of these rune meanings.

As she was before him, she quickly flipped through the pages as fast as she could, using her fingers as reading points.

"Okay okay! It says here..." AHA! "Nauthiz. It means need. THE CRAVING of something... OR SOMEONE!" and so, Lola quickly put one hand in the air (the other holding the textbook) and dramatically motioned a gesture that showed her craving for the viking, waving her hands in circular motions around her head and mouth.

VIKINGS!

"Viking, please," she said angelically, bowing her head down. Beard and everything.

Tristan looked scared. "Uhmmm... Ja..." He said and transfigured the child's clothing.

Seeing the majority of the class stand up, wanting to be vikings themselves, including Bissy, the dark haired Slytherin girl stayed right where she sat. Thank Merlin they had an option. She had been a viking for that one costume party and that was enough for the rest of her life.

Yes it was a very difficult task for anyone to come anywhere near the pedestal that the LionLad held Truebridge on, not all as Runes Professor, but just an awesome person, he could see himself warming to this guy!

He hoped that was enough, cause he really badly wanted to be a viking.

He smiled at the boy. He was trying to make him feel better. That was appreciated. "Very good." And he transfigured the clothing.

Daichi literally jumped up from his seat and ran to the front of the class and stood with his plushed duck in his arms in front of the professor with the funny accent. "I want to be a viking too~!" he almost squealed and frowned when they were suppose to tell a rune name before he was going to transfigure their clothes.

But... HE DIDN'T KNOW ONE! Daichi scratched the back of his head, trying to think of a rune. Maybe he should have learned this subject a bit before school started....Wait! he had a text book! DUH! , Daichi picked his text book up from his desk and looked through the pages , he wanted a cool meaning. His eyes landed on Sowilo.

Selina looked down at her new clothing and sighed. All of these Ministry characters were really starting to freak her out. But she was a Gryffindor and they never ever showed outward signs of weakness so she smiled at her attire and then listened to the rest of his question.

She remembered this from last year when she was studying Ancient Runes. Her hand shot in the air and she answered, "Elder Futhark. It's the oldest form of Ancient Runes that we believe to exist, sir."

It took a few seconds to realise what the Professor had asked. His accent was so heavy that he had a bit difficulty to understand some of it. Finally getting it, Daichi raised his hand in the air in a fast motion that he almost hurt himself. He had just read that a couple of seconds ago! And since he had no cool viking clothes *pout* he thought he needed to answer this.

"That is the Elder Futhark Runic Alphabet , Professor" he said with a big grin on his face. hehe

Spike raised his hand, slowly. He wanted to be a Viking too! He must have drifted off or something whilst looking out the window and missed out on the fun. Pout.

Anyways. He knew the answer to this one. Though, admittedly the first six runes gave it away. "It's the Futhark alphabet," he answered with a crooked grin. Apparently something had stuck after carving runes in the desk last year. "The Elder one, I think. Cos that has more letters in it than the younger one."

ZOMG HE HAD A BEARD! The day he'd been dreaming of for months--no YEARS--was finally here. Nevermind the fact that he'd probably have to be transfigured back after the lesson. He finally knew what it meant to be a MAN now! He was so excited, he almost missed the professor's next question, and quickly raised his hand once he realized he was asking for answers. He didn't want to completely skip one of the questions and have him take away his beard in punishment!
