"S-S-Sir, there is the rune Isa which literally means ice and is the rune of control."
No beard please...no beard.... | "You correct too." He said transfiguing her into a blonde lady viking. Quote:

"Well there's Uruz, which means physical strength or speed." Smart Krissa. "Don't give me a beard okay?" She smiled at the professor. | "Good Good, no beard unless asked for." Except for boys... He transfigured her. Quote:

He didn't want the class to turn into Vikings whilst he sat at the back, alone and regular. Runes. "Fay-huh. F-Fehu?" He said in a very posh tone. That was how he remembered it, oddly enough. The meaning? Think, Keaton, think! "Means... posh, or.. rich. Posh and rich, I think." He came to that conclusion. Despite his hatred of books, Jamie had read something on each subject before coming to Hogwarts, and that was probably the one of about three runes he had read about.
Shameful. Can he be a Viking now? | "Yes... Wealth" he said and transfigured him into a viking with FULL beard. Quote:

She'd been trying to grow her hair for a while, and magic seemed like a fast-track. Oh well. 'Story day' means great idea. I'll remember that.
...did she want a beard?
Yes. Yes she did.
Too bad she didn't know any names of runes off the top of her head. Hateya started flipping through her textbook, looking for one to shout. Even when she found them, she wasn't sure she found them. How in the heck did you say those? "Tee-whaz? Is that... how you say it?" | "Ja, it is." He said and transfigured her into a lady viking. Quote:

Nika raised an eyebrow and stated it more like a question. "ANd it erm means uhm?" What did the textbook say again?!?! "Um hold on..." Now to ask for a beard or go without...that was the question. Eh...she'd leave it up to him. | "Ja," he said transfiguring the girl. Quote:

Well there it is.
He was convinced. More than convinced. The Norweigian Minister had already won him over with the promise of a costume and Jimbo had frozen in shock and delight. But when he mentioned the beard...
Well, let's just say Jimbo couldn't get out his textbook quick enough.
He didn't know any runes off the top of his head so he had to consult his textbook, which he hadn't initially bothered to take out of his schoolbag. Scanning it quickly, he found one that looked rather like a tree and went with it.
Leaving his textbook behind, he rushed over to the teacher. "Fehu. The rune that directly translates into 'money' or 'wealth' and means nourishment or reward. May I be a viking with a superlong beard now, please Professor?" | He chuckled. "Ja, you are correct." And he transfigured him, making sure his beard was extra long. Quote:

You know, could they just summarize a rune from their desk and skip all the show and tell stuff? She thought they were meant to raise their hand to volunteer, but when a few students stepped up and just started going about their business, she guessed they were meant to just hop on up and get to work. "Mannaz," she said, sliding out of her seat just as the others had done, "means how we treat others, and whether they're our friend or our enemy." Stepping away from him a little, she added, "I'm good with my regular school uniform clothes." | "Correct." he said a little taken a back, she was good with school uniform? His English wasn't the best... So he transfigured it into the lady viking costume with the colors of her school uniform. Quote:

And she did. Or Vashti thought she did, anyway, so she raised her hand. "There's 'wunjo,' which means 'joy.'" Hopefully she was right because she had already stood and was taking the spot by Kurumi. | "Ja, is good." He said and transfigured her clothing. Quote:

Studystudystudystudy.
Ancient Runes were not her best subject but it interested her. They were ancient. And all... runey. When he told the class that he could transfigure them into a viking and possibly have beards, her eyes. Wider. WIDERRRR. "MEEE MEE MEE!" she volunteered, immediately standing up and taking her textbook with her, utterly clueless of any of these rune meanings.
As she was before him, she quickly flipped through the pages as fast as she could, using her fingers as reading points. "Okay okay! It says here..." AHA! "Nauthiz. It means need. THE CRAVING of something... OR SOMEONE!" and so, Lola quickly put one hand in the air (the other holding the textbook) and dramatically motioned a gesture that showed her craving for the viking, waving her hands in circular motions around her head and mouth.
VIKINGS! "Viking, please," she said angelically, bowing her head down. Beard and everything. | ...
Tristan looked scared. "Uhmmm... Ja..." He said and transfigured the child's clothing. Quote:
