Behind the mirror is a secret passageway. Unfortunately it doesn't lead anywhere because of a cave in. |

"Selina, is this broomshed two stories!? Are you sure this is a broomshed and not one of those guest houses that are the size of a normal shed? Because I don't think it's possible to have enough brooms to fit in there, I really don't." The whole thing was crazy! And if this was their broomshed..... He nearly felt chills down his spine thinking about their actual house. It was probably the size of a whole city. He smiled happily, still. "Selina, thank you so much. You really are the best friend in the whole world."
Then he perked up, sounding really dorky, "Violet's going to be there?" His smile was so cheesy, but it was so big and truly innocent it might make a Death Eater vomit. "But I thought she lived so far away! In Paris!"
He smiled and said, "I knew it. But I think you're going to be living your desire in no time." But really, Christopher new she wasn't telling the full truth. He could normally sense people's emotions by their face, eyes, and how they sat and acted. She was hiding something. Most definitely. And he respected that she keep her desire a secret, for after all, he had asked a very serious and personal question. She probably saw something much deeper, but for now, he wouldn't mess with it. "Why?" He felt his hands become a little shaky, but he shrugged and acted as if what he were about to say was totally normal and not emotional at all. "Oh, I was just hoping that maybe someone else saw something that didn't make them feel worse, and not happy at all. Something that tore their heart out because they could never have that desire." At first he'd tried to play it off cool, but by now his voice was small, and scared. "Me? I see what you would expect. My sister, father, and mother, smiling at me happily, all of my best friends waving at me and laughing like nothing was ever wrong." He sighed. "Only four out of those ten people I named aren't dead, and it's all my fault." He put his head in his hands for a moment, but realizing that he was still sitting there with Selina, he just ran through his hair and looked at her with his piercing blue eys. "What do you really see?" Selina looked at him like he had three eyes. What was he going on about? "Christopher, the shed is only three rooms. The other pictures in there are from Whitley Hall if that is what you are confused about. Because those three rooms do not make a mansion. It's like a tiny little flat, it's not even a house. I mean it is only three rooms. Why? Is that bigger than your actual house?" Selina inquired. She had not meant to make him uncomfortable it was just that she was curious. She had grown up her entire life in luxury and was always kind of curious what it meant when people said they grew up in shambles. She never knew what that meant, thankfully, so it was hard to relate.
The moment she mentioned Violet he perked up instantly. She sighed and said dully, "Yes Christopher, the future mother of your children spends her summers at my house. Why?" Her lips formed a small smile. It was a funny little comment, or at least she thought.
As she lied he kept a straight face and he even went along with her lie. She knew that it was something she he understood she didn't want to talk about. For Merlin's sake no one knew, not even Kurumi. So it would be best if she kept it to herself. It was her deepest secret and not one that she was proud of.
But when he answered her she knew that he was going to spin back around and ask her once more what she saw. He did not dissapoint her with the question- he did ask it. She just was praying he wouldn't. So she tried to answer him in the softest way she knew, "Christopher I am so sorry about all of the people you've lost. It can be hard, you know, death. But your Dad and whoever else is looking at you loves you because you loved them and never did them any harm. None of their deaths were caused by you. So you need to start living in the positive memory of your Dad and whoever else you see."
Who did she really see? "Someone who is very special to me and I have a deep regret with. I think everyone sees something like that no?"

Who did she really see? "Someone who is very special to me and I have a deep regret with. I think everyone sees something like that, no?" "Three very big rooms," he corrected. She didn't seem to understand how large they were. "Selina, I haven't even looked at the Whitley Hall pictures yet, because quite frankly, a house with it's own name scares me. It's probably bigger than my home town completely. It's a pretty small town. But my point is, that shed is unnaturally large to be just a broom shed. How do you have that many brooms? Is that even possible? i mean, how many do you even need!?" When she too compared the shed to the size of his home in the little southern village of Seatown, he laughed. "Just about, if not bigger."
At Selina's comment, Christopher turned bright red. "I... She's.... It's just....." he said, rather flustered about her remark. "Nevermind." He still found all of this joking towards his relationship with Violet rather foreign. It was a fond joking, which he'd certainly not grown used to. "I used to...... Until an old friend came back to visit me in a way that wasn't wanted." By this, he hinted at nightmares and boggarts, but he was sure she got that. He didn't know what went on with her own boggart, but he had seen her leave choking out sobs. He really didn't want to pry, but just as Kurumi had once told him, it wasn't good to keep things like that inside all bottled up. Elyon had learned that the hard way herself in the common room last year.
But if she didn't want to talk about it, she didn't want to talk about it. And he certainly wouldn't, or couldn't even if he wanted to, make her say anything. "I don't think so. Well, I agree with the part about never one getting what they desire unless they truly do get what that desire is, but I think that only the strongest, and truest people see loss and loved ones even if it pains them over money or power or anything of the sort." "That person was the one the boggart showed you, wasn't it?" |

"That person was the one the boggart showed you, wasn't it?" Selina shifted awkwardly as Christopher went on about the size of his home. It made her really think about her upbringing and his, they were both very different people with different childhoods. So why were they friends? It amazed her how the world worked sometimes. But even through different parents and homes they had both turned out alright. It shocked her to say the least, "Well Whitley is nothing special to me since I kind of grew up there. Just like Versailles doesn't mean much to Violet. It is just our upbringing. You know? It's kind of hard to explain. But I do want you to feel at home there."
When he grew bright red Selina wore her usual smirk and remarked, "Mhmm, sure. Oh yeah..."
The boggarts. The nightmares. Selina felt like everyone in Gryffindor had experienced them. But Selina had KILLED her sister. Often people rationalized that being with someone when they died meant that THEY had killed them, but Selina wasn't doing that. She had actually killed her baby sister.
So at his question she answered dryly with one word, "Yes."

So at his question she answered dryly with one word, "Yes." Christopher couldn't help but chuckle when Selina looked so uncomfortable about the size of his Muggle home. It was a reaction he was very well used to by now. "Selina, I'm poor, it's really no big deal. Money doesn't matter. It's things like love and friendship and faith that are truly important in life." He was surprised she'd never known how poor he was, with his second-hand (and sometimes even third-hand) robes and books, and how little books he actually owned so that he had to go to the library to read, and how he always had get his few friends really cheap or old Christmas presents. He'd even assumed that she knew when he never bought any butter beer or candy from Honeydukes or anything from Zonko's.
The boy's smile grew wider and he nodded. "I'm sure it'll be perfect." "I'm only thirteen!" He protested, still blushing furiously. "I don't think about that stuff. Weddings and kids....." he trailed off, looking disturbed by the thought of being an adult. He'd much rather stay a kid forever. Yes, that would work for him. "Girls are so weird...." he muttered, shaking his head. "Hey...." he said in his best soothing voice. "Selina, just like you told me, whatever you're dealing with, you need to be able to have positive memories of whoever you saw. They must've loved you and I'm sure you loved them, so just try to celebrate their life and never forget that love you have. You never hurt them, and if you quarrelled or something, that the fight is behind you. You need to make peace with whoever you see." "And Selina?" he added. "Even if you won't talk about it now, someday you're really going to need to trust someone enough with that secret, and confide in them, and let it all out. Don't bottle it all in. That's the only way you'll be able to truly find your inner peace." |

Of course he didn't know exactly who he was referring to when he was talking about Danielle but his words were still directed to the vision of her boggart. But he didn't understand. No matter what he thought about the people in his life he had NEVER killed someone. It was Selina's magic that she did that had killed her baby sister. It was her pure energy that ruined a family and dug a grave. She didn't emotionally kill someone by not being there or something like that. She actually had blood on her hands. No one could understand what that was like to carry around. Killing someone scars you, but to kill someone you love is a whole other deck of cards.
Her finger tips played with the ends of her shirt and she looked down at the ground. Christopher was trying to help, but he only made things worse. No one could understand what she went through everyday when she woke up. It was like a never ending torture that she prayed would one day just dissipate. However, it never did. Nothing she did ever erased the fact that she was a murderer. Yet Selina still loved her life and friends and was rarely weepy. She was strong and never wallowed in pain. Maybe that was why she avoided talking about Danny. She was the one subject that pushed Selina to the point of tears.
Now with eyes wet with tears Selina looked up at Christopher and said, "Can we please drop it? I would never ask you what you saw in your boggart. It's your deepest fear, that isn't a question you just throw around. Please can we just leave that subject alone? I don't need therapy... I need to just not talk about it."

Christopher looked sadly over at his friend, who was near tears. He wasn't sure what she saw, but it truly must've been horrible, because she didn't cry. Like, ever. "I'm not forcing you to talk about it, Sel. Not until you're ready to. Heck, you never have to tell me if you don't want to. Keep it a secret forever, I'm not stopping you. But I will tell you this." He paused, halfway doing it for effect, and the other part of him doing it to make sure she was listening to him very well. "It's not healthy for all of that to be held in. Don't forget that love you shared with that person, and just try not to be sad. I hate it when you're sad," he said with a frown. "But we don't need to talk about it anymore if it's really that painful."
So there the pair of them were, sitting awkwardly after a touchy subject was immediately dropped. ' Now what am I supposed to say??' he thought. He looked around the room, better there was really nothing in there other than the mirror. That was helpful. "So...... uh..... what's your favourite colour?" |

Selina wiped her tears and smiled softly at him, "My favorite color? Um, I guess it would have to be... red. Obviously right? The whole hair and house thing kind of match poetically. Anyway I love the color red."
Suddenly Selina felt sick. She could feel herself slipping and a headache forming at the tip of her head. Her face turned white and her eyes started to glaze over. It was a vision. Selina fought to keep herself out of the future, but she couldn't. The power was too much and her body buckled over in pain until she started to shake. Finally her eyes glazed completely over and Selina slipped into the future. All of the sights before her dissipated until all she could see was a slight green and yellow tinted scene. It was the future.
An older looking Christopher stepped into view and the surroundings around him started to take full shape. He looked older, much older about seventeen. He was standing in a graveyard looking over a tomb stone. Once it came into view the whole name could be seen- it was Christopher's father.
A single tear dripped down his face as he started to lean down and place a bouquet of flowers on the grave. A crunch of leaves could be heard and a small and blonde figure stepped into view. Everything then suddenly took full shape and everything was clear. It was Violet Le Veela, now much older and more beautiful if possible. She looked about sixteen and her Violet eyes looked more mature less chaotic.
Christopher seemed to hear her footsteps and he wiped his tears and stood up to meet her. He gave her a soft kiss on the lips and said, "Hey you."
She smiled into the kiss and said, "Hey you," then she slipped her hand into Christopher's and continued, "Are you okay?"
He nodded and said, "You know I always think that it will get easier every time I come here. It never gets easier though, it just becomes more routine. But I know that he is looking over me and is always watching Violet."
The older Christopher looked more put together and his clothing looked more expensive now. It seemed that he had indeed ended up living with the Skylars. Then he turned around quickly to face his girlfriend. He put his hands on her shoulders and said, "You know that I love you right?"
Her face suddenly got confused and panicky, "Yes... why?"
"I'm graduating this year and I need you to know that I love you. Next year, when I'm gone, I need to know that you will wait for me. I'll visit when you have Hogesmeade visit, but now I am too invested in this relationship to back out. I need to know that you will be there for me now. If you want to back out please do it now. I just hope you won't."
Violet giggled and put her hand on his cheek, "Silly boy, if I was going to walk away I would have done it when I was eleven or when you and Selina had that moment back last year. But I'm here, still."
Christopher's face took up a blush and he said, "You know that it wasn't like that Violet. I thought it was you. The room was dark and Selina slapped me really hard for that."
"If I recall correctly, so did I."
"Okay yes, we understand that Christopher needs to turn on the lights before he kisses his girlfriend, but seriously. You will be here?"
"Always... why are you asking me to marry you?"
"No, but I'm hoping one day... maybe."
The vision then started to fade and Selina could fell the floor of the room once more beneath her. Her face was covered in sweat and she was jolted from her vision, "Oh my god... ow."

He chuckled lightly, still feeling a tad awkward, but that was all slipping away. As she wiped her tears, still looking incredibly pale, he gave her a small hug with an empathetic smile to go with it. When he sat back up he started to say, "Mine would definitely be-" but stopped abruptly. Something was definitely wrong with his friend.
Her eyes began to glaze over a little, and he was beginning to wonder if he just bored her, she was very tired, or if she was sick. But his money (if he had any) would've been on sick. So he said worriedly with a nervous laugh, "Selina, are you okay? You don't look so good. Do you need me to take you to the Hospital Wing?" But Christopher never recieved a reply. As pale as a ghost, Selina's eyes were completely blank, her eyes looked like they were going to roll into the back of her skull. She was shaking violently and then she slumped to the floor. "Selina!!!" he cried, so unsure of what to do. He'd learned CPR and swimming safety in Muggle school, (as it was mandatory for the whole region to know it since they lived just off of the coast of Southern England) but he was sure that would be no help at all. He was sure she was unconscious and he wasn't sure what had happened to her. Did she have a seizure? Was it poison? Had one of the House Elves accidentally prepared something for her that wasn't fully cooked or something? All of the possibilities raced through his mind, and he was really scared. He tried lightly shaking her awake, as he didn't want to hurt her, and attempted to revive her with that and by calling her name.
It was a rather unsuccessful attempt.
He was just about to give up and carry her to the Hospital Wing where someone might know what was wrong and how to fix it, when she jolted upright, her forehead covered in a thin layer of sweat and looking very freaked out. All in all, it was crazy spooky. "Oh my gosh, Selina! What happened? Are you alright? Goodness, I was so worried! You just passed out and I didn't know what to do! I almost got to the point where I was about to carry you to the Hospital Wing, but you just woke up!" he rushed on, his eyes wide, his face had been pale with fear.
Christopher took her hand, pulling her up on her feet. "Come on, you need to go to the Hospital Wing," he said gently, helping her not to fall over. "Did you hit your head?" the young lion asked when she rubbed it and winced.

Her eyes began to glaze over a little, and he was beginning to wonder if he just bored her, she was very tired, or if she was sick. But his money (if he had any) would've been on sick. Her hand stayed plastered to her head in a foolish attempt to perhaps help dull some of the pain in her head. But she had had enough visions to know that the pain would go away in an hour or so. It was a lasting pain that tending to stick with her until she slipped into her next vision.
Her internal train of thoughts were screaming at her for being so stupid and falling into the future in front of Christopher. He had never seen her have a vision before and if he had Kurumi was usually around and she was really good at hiding her friend's condition. With no Kurumi and no help she was exposed and she had fell into a vision. He was bound to ask a million and one questions like he was asking right now. Of course he wanted to know if she was okay. She had pratically just had a seizure. Selina would want to know if the roles were reversed.
Slowly sitting up as to make sure to not hurt herself Selina winced, "Yeah I'm fine. That just happens sometimes. Nothing to worry about. I have a special condition so it really isn't anything unusual."
While he was helping her up he said something about the Hospital Wing and she shouted at the top of her lungs, "NO!" she cleared her throat, "I mean... no I don't need the hospital wing."

While he was helping her up he said something about the Hospital Wing and she shouted at the top of her lungs, "NO!" she cleared her throat, "I mean... no I don't need the hospital wing." "This has happened..... before?" Christopher asked, horrified. That Selina was one tough cookie, because he'd nearly had a heart attack. "If you don't mind my asking, but does your special condition have to do with seizures? Because I used to know someone with seizures, and it was really scary when it happened." He shuddered, think about Jack. "It was kind of like what just happened, but a little different." Yes, that made sense, if she had seizures. But didn't people have to take medication for that? Surely they should be going to the Hospital Wing.
He wondered why she'd never mentioned it. He'd never seen it happen, and she probably didn't want to draw attention to it, he certainly wouldn't have if it was him. But they'd be living together soon, wouldn't she have at least mentioned it once?
He shrugged it off as he helped her up, but nearly jumped out of his socks when she screamed at him in protest. He immediately dropped her hand, holding his own in surrender, and said, "Hey, woah, okay! But I really think we should go and at least have Healer Moretti give you something for your head. It looks like you hit it pretty hard," he said, trying to persuade her to come with him.
But it still struck him incredibly odd that she so bluntly refused to go, especially if it was to help her physically feel better. It wasn't like therapy or anything. "Why don't you want to go? Selina, you'll feel much better, come on!" He urged her, still a little worried about her. She was very pale and shaky, and overall, she didn't look okay. She looked like someone who very much needed to go to the darn Hospital Wing!

She looked like someone who very much needed to go to the darn Hospital Wing! Selina tucked a strand of her red hair behind her ear as he asked about the regularity of her seizures. She meekly nodded in agreement to let him know that this was indeed a usual experience for Selina. Most of her visions were random, very few were triggered by an event with the exception of the one's in Divination, but the happened often enough that it had become routine for Selina. Whenever she had a vision she had a few specific things that she would do to make herself feel better, "Yes. I have them often, not all the time, they're random you see, but often enough that they are usual to me. I hate them every bit of them but I know how to handle the aftermath. And my special condition just deals with magic. You know a disease magic related that gives me seizures like that."
But after she blurted out at him he was still heavily keen on taking her to the Hospital Wing. It was something that she did not ever want to do. Only four people in the world knew about her condition: Elektra, Violet, Kurumi, and Professor Bishop. If people ever knew that she was a Seer she would face a wide range of ridicule and would become one of the Ministry Seers that do prophecys and never leave the state of the future, basically slaves.
The only way to stop his insisting to take her to the Hospital Wing was to tell him. Part of her did not want to involve him in these matters, she saw terrible things and carrying her secret around meant carrying around all of the horror she saw happen to people's lives. After all how could she tell Christopher that she had seen his father die last year in a vision? But if she didn't tell him he would insist on the infirmary.
"I can't go to the Hospital Wing because they don't know about my seizures. You see they aren't exactly normal seizures." She took in a deep breath and said firmly, "I see the future."

"A magical disease? Oh shoot, I'm afraid I'm not familiar with many of them. I could tell you all about Muggle disease since I spent so much time at the hospital and around doctors and all, but I'm afraid that would be rather a waste of precious time that could be used to get you to that Hospital Wing," he said sternly. He may not know what the heck was going on with Miss Selina Skylar, but he was sure that going to the infirmary could only help her, not hurt her.
He saw her pause, as if she were thinking something over in her head. Perhaps she'd finally listen to him? No, she was much too stubborn for that. But she was thinking rather hard, as she'd been quite for a few moments, leaving Christopher to eye the door, hoping he could just maybe get her to come. Why shouldn't she? She'd just passed out on the ruddy floor! He figured that was a good enough reason.
He sighed as she began talking and managed to say in an exhasperated voice, "It doesn't matter that they aren't normal, I still want you to at least try-" before she cut him off with some, erm, interesting news. And boy was that some big news. "Oh," he said quietly, trying to take in that grand old fact. But pieces were definitelyl fitting together. She always seemed to know things before they happened. Of course no one had really been surprised when his Dad had passed, but she had been acting as though she'd known the precise date all along. And perhaps that had been no act. "I have a feeling not many people know about this, do they?" he asked, although he already knew the answer. Why else would she have been so reluctant to tell him? She refused to last year altogether. Christopher did remember that little Common Room drama. "We can always get you some chocolate from the Kitchens," he suggested, trying not to show how shocked he was. It wasn't working though, because it was a very large shocks, and his facial expression was still showing it. "So, erm, if you don't mind my asking, what was that you just saw?"

It wasn't working though, because it was a very large shocks, and his facial expression was still showing it. "So, erm, if you don't mind my asking, what was that you just saw?" Selina watched him intently as he digested the news. At first he was meek and was obviously turning it all over in his head. In his eyes she could see all of the puzzle pieces fitting together. Why she always acted like she did, why she was so random and flippant because she wanted to live in the present not the future, why she was so well adjusted when terrible things happened. Everything was clear to him now and she knew that he wouldn't question her ability because he knew deep down she was telling the truth.
As he tried to formulate sentences all he could get out was if a lot of people knew. She shook her head no and elaborated, "No, just Violet, Elektra, Kurumi, and Professor Bishop. And Bishop only knows because quite frankly I have visions in her class often and she helps cover it up. Something about Divination seems to spark the visions to occur. I can't really stop them once they start. I've been trying, but every time I do they fight back and cause a seizure like you just saw."
But he was still shocked. He tried to offer up help with the chocolate but she could see he was still too shocked to talk fully so she put her hand on his shoulder and helped him sit down. It was a lot of news to take in at once. Everyone had a different reaction. Violet was thrilled with the possibility of knowing what she would look like everyday. Elektra honestly could care less... she had the whole parseltongue thing that she worried about. Kurumi was understanding but a little taken back and shocked. And Bishop, well Bishop wanted to help, but was obviously intrigued by her case.
Then the question that they all asked came to the front line... what had she seen? She sighed and answered, "Christopher the future is a tricky and dangerous thing. It is its own monster. If you choose to know what I saw then you will get tangled up in it. And once you are in you never get out. If you want that I will tell you... but not everyone wants that burden. Merlin knows I don't, but I have no choice."

It was a lot to take in. But Christopher was finally beginning to process his thoughts. He sat down, looking at Selina with the most confused look in his face. "Wait..... So your parents don't know?!" he asked, feeling most upset. "Shouldn't they know? I mean it's kind of important," he said, starting to feel almost a tad angry. Weren't parents supposed to help their children through those kind of things? He'd imagined her parents to be so kind and loving and understanding- he wasn't sure he could bear going to another judgmental home if he really did end up with the Skylars, which was something he could only hope for.
He nodded, listening intently to the highly important words his friend had to say. But all the while, he kept his face blank and unreadable, with eyes kept on the floor. After a long pause of silence, he managed to ask a rather clever question that he'd been thinking throughout her entire speech. "So.... so it had something to do with me, didn't it?" he looked at her shocked expression and said much more confidently, "It did. I can tell by your eyes."
Christopher wasn't exactly sure what she saw, but by now he was certain it dealt with his fate, and something about him. And although he craved to know what the future held for him, he was positive he wanted to listen to Selina and not know. The future was a tricky business, and he wasn't so sure he wanted to get involved in it. Or that he would even be able to handle it

It isn't that they won't be accepting or anything, they are great, its just that its hard to explain. The future is so scary and I don't want to drag them into it. Really I mean you don't understand. It is quite literally the scariest thing in the world. Getting stuck in the future and being completely mute to the outside world. Would you want to get your Dad involved in that?" Once she had said it she completely regretted it. Her father was not something she wanted to bring up with him. She knew he was very sensitive to it as of late and she couldn't blame him- Brian James had just died.
Coughing to try to cover up her blunder she said, "Yeah it was about you. But I don't think that you want to know. It is nothing bad.. but if you want to know I'll tell you. Once I tell you though there is no going back."

Honestly, he thought that her decision would only hurt them AND her. "But they could help you learn to control your powers! It's
not like they'd try to take advantage of them! Selina, I think they should know. I mean, a family is the most important thing to a lot of people, and I don't think it's healthy to keep secrets from each other. Plus it could only hurt them and you, because keeping secrets can really hurt people," he said in that innocent little-kid way he spoke when he was being really genuine. His dad had some secrets too, but Christopher hadn't known this until after his Father's passing. Which was even more hurtful that he'd never been told about them.
The thirteen year old clenched his jaw and fixed his eyes back on the floor, pretending (doing a rather poor job of it) that he hadn't heard her. Though it was very clear by his face and Selina's rapid change of subject that he had. "No, I don't want to know. I don't think I could handle it, quite honestly." He paused for a moment, thinking about the future and how Selina could see things that were about other people. "Does that mean you can see things about other people's private lives?" he asked in a more nervous tone.

She knew deep down that they would accept her, but the slightest shadow of doubt always crept into her mind at the thought of them rejecting her and her ability. Besides the biggest fear was that they would act like she was even a Seer. They had done that before. When things got really tough emotionally for the Skylar's they either welled up with anger and burst, like Selina did so very often, or shut off completely. Her emotions could just be turned off like a switch if it got to hard.
That was what she had done with Danielle. After her sister died, although she was little at the time of her death, her whole family shut off. Sophie took that job in Australia to try to heal without anyone around her. Jake immersed himself in the Quidditch world and worked to go from a good Chaser to the best in the league. And little Selina Skylar, from the ages two to ten, grew up alone and with her mother and father when they were home. Whenever they were away dealing with the grief of their dead daughter Selina would spend her days at her Aunt Jennette's house and deal with the grief in that manner. So Selina had learned to just shut off when things got too tough. She would smile and joke because it was better than crying.
But she restrained herself from yelling at Christopher. She walked over to the mirror and looked dead in the reflection. Her sister Danny was smiling back in the mirror at her and she touched the glass trying to touch her sister, "Christopher... there are just some things you don't understand. Personal things that no one understands. Everyone has their reasons for things and I have mine."
Her fingers dropped off the glass and she looked back at Christopher, "Besides the future is tricky. I can see other people's future, not just my own. I'm a Seer it comes with the territory. Sometimes I see the future of people who I've never met before in my life. They are just in my head and I see how their life turns out. I've seen yours..."

Out of the corner of his eye, Christopher noticed Selina looking very, very, agitated with him, causing him to feel just the same. He grimaced at her answer and strode over to the mirror where she stood, clutching it's side. "Selina! Maybe it's you that doesn't understand! Do you want your family to turn out like mine!? I know there are some personal reasons involved, but you've got to trust me on this one! You need to tell your mum and dad that you're a Seer, or you're going to have some serious trust issues. They can help you! He sighed, the identical blue eyes staring back at one another. "You're not alone in this, Sel. It's time that you realize that," he finished, sounding exasperated. "Y-you, you've seen my future? You've seen all of it? So you know what career I choose, who I marry, even... how I die?" Christopher spluttered, sounding a little frightened now. "How can you even bear that?" |

I will tell them when I'm ready, not when other people want me to be. It's sad, but true. I'm not ready."
When he asked about his future she said, "Not everything. I've seen bits and pieces here and there. But you said you don't want to know and to be honest I wouldn't tell you about YOUR future. Why tempt fate? What I've seen thus far isn't bad- so don't worry about it."

He respected her descision, even though he knew she'd probably regret them later on, but one question was tugging on him and he couldn't shake it off. "But why? What is it that makes you think that you can't tell them? What is it that you are just so afraid of?" he pleaded, desperate to understand why she thought that she couldn't trust anyone, or why she felt that she had to shut off her emotions and hide whenever someone tried to reach out to her. It really hurt him to see her so upset. They were bestfriends afterall, despite their constant bickering. "It- it's not?" Christopher asked, sounding genuinely shocked. "But, that can't be right," he stammered. He wasn't used to having a life that wasn't difficult with each day. "Things get..... better," he said breathlessly, overwhelmed with thoughts about the life that laid ahead.

But until that day don't expect me to understand why I should just tell people about my ability. You have no room to comment on things you don't understand."
Then she looked at him softly and said, "Of course things get better. Time heals a lot of pain. And so does a certain Veela."

She was not going to talk to him like he was just a little child. He balled his fists and shook her hand off of his shoulder. "Selina Skylar! Don't talk to me like that! I'm not trying to force you to tell the entire school, I'm trying to help you! You always act like you are so superior to everyone, but you aren't! I'm tired of you always refusing help, acting like you're too good for it, because you're only hurting yourself! Put aside your pride for once and just take my advice!" he said hotly. He stepped back, the fiery looking in his eyes dying down. "Please, Sely. I don't want to see you hurt anymore," he said. Though this time his remark was soft, and the look in his eyes sad. "Veela? What do you mean?" he asked, confused. It was clear that he understood that the Veela meant Violet and that she'd help him, but what he wanted to know was ....how?

It was clear that he understood that the Veela meant Violet and that she'd help him, but what he wanted to know was ....how? When he pushed her hand off of his shoulder Selina stumbled back a bit in shock. This was her life? Who did he think he was always trying to dictate how she should feel emotionally about everything. Every time she was having a personally moment he would always try to pry her business out of her. What was going to make him realize that she didn't need or want all of his help. It was nice to have a friend around, but he hated when she offered him advice so why did he think he could give her advice?
"I don't want your help! It's my life. Stop fighting with me about how I want to live my life. I don't tell you how to live your life ever! All I ever do is tell you that things get better and that you need to be positive. But you think, for some unbeknowest reason to me, that you can tell me how to life MY life. I DON'T WANT TO TELL THEM! It's personal why I don't. So how about this... bud out," Selina settled down and said, "I need a friend, not a parent Christopher."
When he asked about Veela she said, "Things get better. Just leave it at that. The future is tricky and I would hate to let you in on something that would be a wonderful surprise to you."

"Fine!" he burst out, throwing his hands up in the air in surrender. "Don't tell them, that's your choice! But I'm still standing my ground with the whole pride thing. I don't know why you do it, but this whole 'Look-at-me-I'm-superior-to-everyone' attitude can't continue. We're all just students learning at Hogwarts, no matter what extra powers or money or life problems or anything! We're supposed to be a big family and look out for one another, which is all I'm trying to do. So I'm sorry if I'm 'smothering' you or whatever, but just know my intentions are good." "The future sucks," Christopher grumbled, still very curious about what she was talking about. He knew she was right, but that didn't mean he wasn't curious about what his later life had in store for him.

He knew she was right, but that didn't mean he wasn't curious about what his later life had in store for him. She was glad that he had dropped the subject. If she had to talk anymore about her personal choices she was going to punch the mirror. Talking about her parents led to Danny, Danny led to how Selina had killed her own sister, and that topic made Selina emotionally unavailable. It was best they just let this subject die.
When he grumbled about the future sucking Selina laughed, "No, it turns out really good for you. Look I can't tell you much, because I would feel terrible, but you end up okay. You both do. Elyie and you make it through all of the tough times and you are there for your kids just like your Dad was there for you. But that's all I'll say."
