Madam Donovan closed her book, leaving her finger inside to keep her place, and looked up from her seated position. "Well, that depends on what it is," she answered with a half-smile.

Charlie said to the girl who just walked by and the librarian,
"That's what I'm looking for too..Is it Spellman's Syllabary that does that?" she smiled. "Are you looking for it for Runes homework too?" she asked the girl.

Zara peered over her shoulder as she waited for Madam Donovan to respond to her. She saw another girl who was looking for the same thing. Zara smiled and said, "Well, I really don't know the title of the book at all. Anything that could help me with the Ancient Runes homework would do. Yeah, I'm looking for it for the homework too." She smiled. "You wanna do it together?" Zara offered, seeing as it would be a nice idea to have someone to study with or do things with. Oh! She hasn't introduced herself yet. Where were her manners? "Oh! I'm sorry. My name is Zara by the way. Danielle Zara Griffiths. I am terribly sorry for not introducing myself earlier." She apologized, smiling sheepishly.

Charlie grinned, happy that somebody else was in the same position.
"Sure," she said, "It'll be a lot easier if we work together."
"It's cool," she added, seeing that Zara was apologising. "I'm Charlie..Rimsworth." she said God she couldn't wait to get married and get rid of her surname.

Madam Donovan watched on as the two girls got to know one another. When it seemed like they were finished chit-chatting, she cleared her throat to speak. "You'll find Ancient Runes books in the Language section of the Library. Spellman's Syllabary is there, along with Ancient Runes Made Easy. I'd start there first," she said, pointing them in the right direction.

She was considering taking the girls over herself when someone called out her name....
Kimber glared - though it did little to hide her smile - and held a single finger up to her lips. "Shhhh, Chad! I've told you before. The children are here to study," she said, walking out from behind her desk.

When she was standing in front of him, she shook her head and pulled on his sleeve. "Besides, if you want something, I can hear you fine over here," she smirked, giving him a tug towards the other side of her desk.

Charlie appreciated the help from the librarian, seeing as she didn't really know where everything is. "Thank you," she said smiling as she went to walk in the direction that Madam Donovan pointed in. Then she remembered that she still had Quidditch Through The Ages in her hand. "Em- where do I check this book out?" she asked politely. She couldn't wait to read it properly, probably outside in the bright autumn setting.

Kimber glared some more before finally rolling her eyes at him. "Oh that's right, Chad," she said sarcastically. "It's far too nerve-racking being surrounded by all this silence. Dummy me, I keep forgetting," she said, playfully whacking herself on the forehead. ... whack!
"Not at all, Sim-" the librarian managed before being interrupted.
Kimber turned around from her spot behind the desk and tilted her head at him. "You know... you look AWFULLY good there, sitting in my chair. Maybe I should let you take over for the day." The Lake would serve as a good place to spend her unexpected day off. It was particularly lovely this time of year.

Donning a smile, she turned back to Simon, still shaking her head slightly. "What can I help you with, dear?" she asked, then added, "Just ignore him." Excellent advice. (even if she couldn't follow it herself) Heh.
Even though distracted, Kimber could still perform her job duties flawlessly. "Right here, dear," she said, taking the book from her hand. Opening it to the first page, she tapped it briskly with her wand and then handed it back. "There. Due back in three weeks."

"Thanks," Charlie grinned and picked up the book. She laughed slightly at the man who was acting like a pest...Chad was it? She smiled and left the library.

"Excuse me," Tayla began. She put a copy of Magical Drafts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger on the counter and stared up nervously at the librarian. "I'd like to borrow this book, please. For my Potions assignment..."

Kimber considered the question for all of maybe a whole nanosecond when she nodded her head excitedly at Simon and said, "Heck yes, Simon! I was hoping someone would be willing to help this term." She didn't say WHY the news came as such a relief but it was clear she was planning on being more busy this year.

"You can start right now if you'd like." Surely he would, right? That WAS why he was here.
"Are you here to distract me or drive me crazy?" she asked, tilting her head to the side?

Just then she heard a muffled SECRET sound coming from her office. Her eyes narrowed and her glare intensified. "And now you've ruined the surprise!" she pouted, turning back towards Simon for his answer.

Madam Donovan was just about to correct Chad, to tell him she couldn't POSSIBLY have fun without him, *wink* when she was suddenly trapped inside his arms, unable to move. "CHAD!" she shouted, breaking her own rule. "You are SO asking to be thrown into the Lake right now."
Hearing the young girl's request, Kimber looked up at Chad and smiled pleadingly. "See, Chad? I'm a very busy girl."

Realizing that he wasn't going to let her loose, she extended her wand hand towards the book and gave it a quick tap along it's spine.

"Due in three weeks," she said, forcing herself sideways to at least face whom she was speaking to.
"I'm never too busy," Kimber replied, giving Fallon an apologetic look. "Ask away." Perhaps it was something easy and Simon could help.

Simon hadn't quite expected all the enthusiasm but apparently Madam Donovan was just as she said...happy to have someone ask if she needed help and be willing to assist her."Sure I can..." he replied having nothing real pending to do for himself. "Anything in particular?" he asked in case there was a certain way that the woman prefered to handle things. The seventh year certainly wasn't about to step on the librarian's toes in the process of attempting to help her.

Ah! Simon was a dear! "Could you stand up here for a moment while I step into my office? There's someone something in there I have to take care of."
At his teasing, Kimber looked up at Chad with exasperated eyes. "Well I just don't know if you even deserve a surprise now..." she said with her pouty expression. But he had at least let her go.

Hearing the same sound as before, she smiled up him. "I'll be right back." And with that, she moved out from behind the desk and disappeared into her office.
