Zara seemed really excited about her ideas, but Helena was kind of worried about her. She really didn't want her to get hurt. Or more than she already was. "Alright," Helena said with a tiny smile. But Zara was surprisingly excited. At least she was happy, and Helena liked seeing her like that.

The... Herbology homework? "We should do it," she said, her smile completely fading away. She didn't quite like Herbology, but she had to do the assignment.

Zara giggled when she saw Helena's smile fade with the mention of homework. "Okay. Let's get this show on the roa--" she smiled awkwardly and covered her mouth. "Oops. I mean, let's...uhm...do this homework." She grinned.

Patty patty patrocluuusssss. Hihih. Zara's very own Mr. Claus. Santa Claus. Santa Claus brings happiness to those kids right, though she knew he didn't really exist. Oh well, at least he brings happiness. And PatroCLAUS brings happiness to Zara's life. Hihih. She smiled to herself. She liked that. He was HERS. Her Mr. Claus.

"Show?" Helena asked, while her eyes went a bit wide. What happened to the five-minutes-ago-crying-Zara? And this was not the Zara she knew either. The girl seemed to feel as if Patroclus was over there, holding her in his embrace or something.

"Right. Homework," Helena said, nodding, and trying to ignore Zara's definitely not normal mood. Helena liked seeing her happy, but this was waaaay more than that. And not in a good way. "I don't even know how to start," she mumbled, more for herself. Uhhh why did she have to take all the classes this term?

Zara began to stand up, "Better get some books, then," she smiled at Helena a little more happier than usual. Then Zara noticed Helena didn't move at all. "You coming?"

Herbology books. About plants. Stubby purple something and those three subcategories of water plants. This was going to be hard.

next post at the bookshelves? :)

Books. Right.

Helena didn't even notice how fast Zara was, and as she looked at her, she was already standing up. "I'm coming," Helena said with a tiny grin. And... if Zara had no idea where the Herbology books were, they'd spend a lot of time searching around the bookshelves. Simply because Helena had never looked for that category.

"Sure" Serena said, stowing her book away and rising up and beginning to walk over to the great hall.

Isobel looked around for a comfy chair, and almost didn't notice that there were other people down there. She saw a couple people she didn't know, Treyen talking to a girl named...Kurumi, and Luke. She didn't like making decisions. After a couple seconds Isobel waved hello to Treyen and went to sit down by Luke. "Hi," she said with a small smile.

Luke heard a voice that sounded familiar, but he couldn't quite place it. It was on the tip of his tongue when he looked up and saw Isobel. Aha. "Hey Isobel," he said with a smile. "What brings you here?"

She probably would end up burning her hand in doing so. Getting so close to the source of the glow of his smile could be dangerous. "Alright, no more discussion about losing bones in one's body," she smiled offering him a playful salute.

"Are you sure you haven't met my father?" she asked raising an eyebrow. It was uncanny how much his thoughts and her father's overlapped. "Father mentioned to me once that my older brothers had too many rocks in their heads to be able to control it. I am not sure I agree, Takashi was sorted into Ravenclaw after all, but father is always saying that things happen for a reason and that everything should be seen as a gift..." She shrugged her shoulders a bit and relaxed with her back against the arm of the chair. So many people were telling her to believe in herself, or some variation of that. She supposed it was about time she started doing so? This would probably require more conversations with Lexi.

"That's two more than I can do!" she chirped feeling the excitement bubbling in her stomach once more. "I am sure you are more than fairly good if you are teaching yourself. Lexi told me that she was getting some training from Mr. Ikenna last term." Speaking of that man, Kurumi wondered where he had gone. "Hugo and I have actually been thinking about asking Professor Descoteaux to teach us." Although, Kurumi wasn't very close with that particular professor. "I...I suppose it is a little advanced for a third year though." She had had a hard enough time with casting a Disillusionment Charm last term.

Kurumi nodded at his comment about Gryffindors - no statement being more true - when....wait....had he just held her hand again? Kurumi thought she felt something warm and gentle to the touch wrap itself around her hand, but when she took a quick glance down, she saw there was nothing there. However, she did notice Treyen's hand retracting. A shy smile appeared on her face and she felt like she were about to burst. QUICK! Time to think about ice!

After taking a few moments, Kurumi was back to her relaxed state - although her hand still felt all warm and fuzzy.

Numbers. Right. They were talking about numbers.

"If I recall correctly," she said slowly tugging on her long pony tail for a moment - which was usually the case when it came to route memorization. "8's are people who find themselves on a path that leads them to work out the difference between money and the real value of life and learn what to do with your natural power and authority." Come to think of it, she supposed that it did sound rather fitting. Those bits anyway. She wasn't too sure about the whole natural leader notion though. Only thing she was good at leading people towards was the kitchen or a box of cookies.

"Sometimes they called us by our last names," she nodded. "I wasn't usually though. I was the only student in the class with a foreign last name, so they always called out jyuu ichi ban no jyoshi, or number eleven girl when they called on me."

Good. They agreed not to discuss Potions, or Lafay, or bones. It was rather likely that they'll be bringing up that lesson if any of those topics came along. So, the fifth year nodded and smiled. A small smile, by the way.

That was rather funny, though, how her father and Treyen seemed to think alike. "No, really, I haven't...but I kind of want to," he sounded awesome, just as awesome as his own. "I do agree with him," and if they agreed on this, then they'd probably agree on many things, no? Mostly things involving Kurumi, right? "Where do you get your violet eyes from, by the way?" such a random question, but Treyen was sure they could both agree on what a beautiful shade of violet it was.

He smiled at her, "And I'm two years older than you. I'm sure by the time you're a fifth year, you'll know even more than I do at the moment," by the time Kurumi would be a fifth year, he'll be a seventh. Meaning...his last year. That was certainly not a good thing to be thinking about. "I didn't think of asking a Professor this time, I kind of wanted to focus on it with Kingsley, but...that's not happening," his expression was saddened by a moment, but he could still ask some other Professor, right? Hadley probably knew, and since he was helping her overcome her fear of heights, then she could help him with non-verbals, right? She ought to know those.

Treyen had been wrong. It hadn't been HIS hand what had brought up that odd behavior in Kurumi. So, he could still hold it without anyone getting hurt, right?

'If I recall correctly'. That was amusing. Of course she'd do such a thing. "Actually, I don't think that number is too far off," but it didn't particularly read 'Kurumi', "We really shouldn't focus on numbers, they don't really tell what a person is like," whereas in Divination...you could actually learn more about someone.

Maybe that's what he didn't like about numbers in the first place.

Then he listened as Kurumi started to answer his question and couldn't help to smile as widely as possible when she spoke Japanese. So, his comment had nothing to do with what she'd said, really. "You sound so lovely in Japanese," he said, still smiling. Eyes on Kurumi.

Still with the books levitating in front of her, Helena walked back to the table they sat at before they left, to look for books. She took a seat and placed the books in front of her, then took the first one and looked in it a lot more carefully this time.

She didn't look back to see whether Zara was coming or not, but she should arrive in a few moments. And Helena will have to teach her that spell. Zara might as well impress professor Descoteaux if she knew it. Hehe.

Mehh. Zara was struggling with those books. Why on earth did she have to get so many? Rawr. She was walking like a drunk as she tried to maintain balance while trying not to let go of the pile of books in front of her that reached up to her face. At least she can still see where she was going.

And she was beside their table. She carefully laid down the books on the floor. Too much space it would take up if it was on the table. Ow. Her finger got stuck on the process but no real damage. "Okay, you ready, Helena?" asked Zara as she took her seat, and picked up two books from the pile beside her then placed them on the table.

Noticing the way Zara struggled to get back to the table, Helena felt really bad that she didn't insist more, or levitate her books as well. But let's hope that Zara will forgive her someday. Because... she will forgive her, riiiight?

"Ready," Helena said as she looked up from her book, smiling. But the truth was that she was not ready. She didn't like Herbology. That was the biggest and the only problem. But... she'll do that assignment. Eventually.

Alright. Time to look back in that book.

Zara nodded and smiled at Helena as well. Then she took one of the two books she had placed on the table and began to scan it, searching for something useful.

And after about half an hour of searching, Zara still hasn't found anything at all. But the only thing she found was a description of the uses of the Stubby Purple Coral. Maybe she should begin making the essay first? "Found anything yet, Helena?" she asked, looking at Helena for the first time since Zara kept herself busy with the books. Really, nothing could ever distract Zara when she's around books. Except for the really good exception of the mention of the name Patroclus.

Helena was still looking in the first book she took off the bookshelves, but it seemed to be useless. "No," she said, slowly shaking her head. "Just creepy plants in this one."

Bubotuber, Devil's Snare, Fanged Geranium, Mandrake and... Chinese Chomping Cabbage?! Nooooo no no no no no no. Her eyes went wide as she read that name. Not THAT one! She had TERRIBLE memories of her past Herbology classes, and that one when professor Vindictus made them trim and feed those cabbages. She had scratches all over her arms for a long time after that lesson!

See? Another reason not to like Herbology.

Helena also put that book away and took the second one. They were probably going to spend a lot of time there.

Presley found an empty chair and curled up with her notebook. It was time to make a list. Lists were what Presley lived by. She knew this was the Reading Lounge, but list-making was a quiet activity. She should be alright. Pres tapped her pen against the paper as she thought. She also needed to write to Leo...and make a plan for the holidays, and and and...There was so much to do that Presley didn't know where to start. She reached down and grabbed her toes briefly. There, part of the DADA assignment done.
To Do Presley put at the top of her paper.
Write to Leo
Sing to and acquiantance
Dance with a partner
Plan for the holidays
Talk to a professional about my...problem.

Her list half-finished Presley pulled her favorite, and well worn book from her bag, and began to read Great Expectations by Charles Dickens for the millionth time.

"Father would love to meet you as well," Kurumi smiled as she began aimlessly playing with her long black ponytail and now hung over her right shoulder like a silky waterfall. "He's told me himself actually." Her cheeks flushed a bit. If this meeting ever happened, she wasn't sure if she would rather be present or not at all. Weighing both options made her sink into her seat a bit.

When she was practically wedged between the cushion and the arm rest, Kurumi peered up at Treyen and blinked a few times. "Oh...um...I am really not sure myself," she said as she bit her lower lip in thought. "Father did mention that it had to do with my metamo...my ability. I think he mentioned that he was born with a strange eye color as well, just not purple. Father was able to gain control much quicker over his ability, so I suppose he was able to change it back to a normal color. I might be able to do that too..."

Kurumi sat up a bit more in her seat. Well, she sat up enough to not be looking up Treyen's nostrils - which were also remarkably charming for nostrils. She had, almost forgotten that Treyen was a 5th year and not because of his height. "I hope you are right," she whispered before her eyes grew a bit wide again. "N-Not that I want to be smarter than you or be better at magic. I-I-I am not that sort of person..." she began waving her arms a bit for emphasis. Awkward much? "I miss Professor Kingsley as well...especially with THAT man teaching us Transgifiguration." Kurumi shivered. "I didn't get to speak with him much though. I-I was too nervous to speak with many professors my first term, besides Professor Zookara anyway."

Kurumi scooted a bit further up in her seat to where she was almost back to a normal sitting position. "Really? I don't consider myself much of a money person really," she mused as she rested her right hand on her cheek as she thought. "You do have a point though. The descriptions are a bit narrow. Reminds me a bit about how we, um, Japanese think about blood types." The country was obsessed with them really. People often made assumptions on you based on it as well. Just another thing that put her into a mislabeled box.

She almost missed his comment about her Japanese. Almost. Her cheeks flushed another shade of rosy pink and she found herself looking at the cushion for a moment to compose herself. "T-T-Thank you..." she squeaked. Truth was, she hadn't really spoken her mother tongue much since coming to Hogwarts, even when she went back home. Unless you wanted to count the few times she had sang to Heather in the girl's dormitory.

Treyen smiled, had Kurumi mentioned him to her father already? Because that's what it meant, right? What she'd said. That was the only way for her words to make sense, and the meeting will have to be arranged over the summer, of course, unless her father came to Hogwarts. But he didn't know how it could even be possible. "You've told him about me?" he asked, chuckling softly.

It was a rather amusing thought. Yet, he remembered the day he met Kurumi and hoped she didn't tell her father about how he made her cry.

Oh. Say no more. Her abilities. Got it. Treyen nodded as he explained and then frowned a little, "I'd prefer if they kept that color, though," he said, and said nothing else on the matter. Just that. Imagining Kurumi with brown eyes or something...just...wasn't Kurumi.

No, really, she was incredibly adorable, and he laughed at her reaction, "I didn't mean that, and I know that's not what you meant either, but it's only normal to acquire more experience over the years," if one practiced, of course. At the mention of Kingsley and the new Professor they had, Treyen just shook his head, "I haven't been attending those lessons," the ones with Shaw, that was his name, right? According to Aparecium.

Ah! But that was the point! "That's what it means, actually, that you'll focus more on value than money, so, that works," kind of, but the whole interpretation may not refer to her, "Still, they're just numbers," and should be seen as just numbers, to him, just don't tell Hadley.

He smiled again, "My pleasure," always.

Kurumi flashed Treyen a girlish smile before giggling softly. "I-I have," she nodded as her hands went to her cheeks to cover up the obvious shade of rosy pink that was brightening. She, thankfully, had enough control over the situation to not allow her hair to turn the same embarrassing shade. "A-A-Ally good things of course." Really, there wasn't anything bad she could say about the Prefect anyway.

Oh no! She had made him frown. Oh, but it was more related to her confidence. That was a bit of a relief. "I know a few people who would disagree with you," she said, frowning a bit herself. Namely her mother and, at times, herself. "Before coming to Hogwarts, I would have given anything to not have these." She looked down for a moment. It was awkward enough talking about her lack of confidence as it was and being distracted by Treyen's smile and charming face would only make it harder. Although, Kurumi almost felt like he made it easier. Her heart skipped a beat at the thought. "People here have helped me change my mind about that..." she swallowed and fumbled with her robes a bit more. "E-E-Especially you..." Her eyes widened a bit. "A-A-AndLexiandSalander..."

She was fumbling around so much with her robes and tugging on her hair that she missed the rest of the conversation regarding classes. Which was fine since she really didn't want to discuss chainsaw man much more. In fact, the next thing she actually heard was Treyen going back to numbers.

"Oh...yeah...numbers..." She wracked her brain a little more trying to make it register what he had said before mentioning numbers. "That is true, isn't it," she continued as she began calming herself down and her swaying ceasing. "Quality over quantity."

Jeanne had a nice book to read and since the common room and dormitories are filled with loud, noisy students. She decided to come read at the lounge instead. Jeanne just finished her homework and going to library would be nice for some peace and quiet.

She looked around to find herself a seat. There were a lot of empty tables and chairs. She sat to the nearest chair she could find and opened her book. She just read the small synopsis found at the back of the book, so she doesn't know if the book is any good. Like the saying goes 'never judge a book by its cover'.

Shuffling through the first page she sat back and positioned herself into a more comfortable sitting position.

CHAPTER 1.

Jonathan who was still buried into his potions book finally gave up and told himself to get a quick snack. Why was he studying so much for this subject anyway??? Oh yeah, because Lafay fails students and that's not good.

Folding the page and putting it on the side, Jonathan sighed. He hasn't finished with his DADA project as well. He wonders if he will get it done in time. He fumbled his hair and stretched his arms and feet while sitting down. He rotated his head and can still hear the cracking sounds. He needs a massage, a very long one. A sleep too in that case.

Looking around he noticed one particular person that put a smile on his face. JEANNE. Is that her reading a book? Well, he always saw her read a book but maybe he could be wrong as well. Plus she doesn't go to libraries that often. Like she said, she loves to stay in her room where it is quiet and comfy. Oh well, he thought wrong.

He walked up to where she was seated and sat beside her. He's interrupting Jeanne's reading time again... as always. "Hey Jeanne" he whispered in her ear before sitting down. "What's that?" pointing at the book she's reading.
