As you enter the Hogwarts library, what appears to be a cozy nook in one corner of the main area appears most appealing to the Hogwarts student interested in his or her reading. Upon further inspection, you see that this comfy area is larger than it had seemed on first sight. Spread throughout the room are clusters of armchairs, surrounding magical reading lamps giving off different levels of light, all of which are appropriate for reading. These clusters are perfect for study groups or group projects.
Here and there are a few lone armchairs for the student who enjoys quiet solitary reading, and a number of sofas for any that would rather stretch out and put their feet up. Be sure not to muddy them up though!
A soft glow of light is present throughout the room, with more magical lamps in each possible reading space. Be sure not to make much noise and respect some students' wishes to read in quiet.
One last note, no food or drink in the reading lounge.
Arabella-Marie grinned at Eino and said "Hmm i could read all the books in the library i mean i love reading and plus i don't think i have read many of the books in the library"
Quite honestly, neither had Eino. He had read a few of them but he spent too much time reading books like the one he was reading now or medieval ones, especially the Arthurian legends. "I should read more of these books too... But they are sometimes quite dull." They would tell you about dragons but didn't include any stories about them, only facts, and facts got very boring very quickly. "If you read them all it could take you thousands of millions of bajillion years though!!"

Elle made her way through the castle from the Common Room, her destination the Library. She still hadn't finished Lafay's homework, so she decided the Library would probably be the best place to get started.
She walked in and noticed the comfy seating area over in a corner. She walked over to one of the solitary chairs and sat down. Pulling out her Potions book, parchment, ink and quill, she thought she had lost her Potions notes. She was about to go into a full blown panic attack when she saw it had only fell out near the door. She scurried towards the door, grabbed up the parchment, and headed back to her seat.
"Okay," she said with a gust of breath. "Let's get this over with."
No, It doesn't sound Swede Amy nodded..was Swede a word? Ah well, it was now, Matthiuas, she muttered, before saying it out loud in an accent Matthiuas she grinned, it sounds Italian Amy nodded
*He shrugged.*
"Don't know. I'll have to ask my uncle if he knows where it comes from. A name is a name I guess."
*Matty was a little confused at why this girl was so interested in his name.*

True, Amy nodded, chewing her lip as she continued to scribble out notes for CoMC and Rosie's riddle. Bloody sphinx, scary and very irritating with her riddles. Stupid sphinx

Kurumi had taken somewhere between thirty minutes to an hour finding the books she had used last term in doing research about her father. A few, after scanning them, she found were no longer needed as they only provided a basic outline of the Ministry and how the various departments worked, so she returned those to their proper shelves and sat down in a comfy chair with a few stacks of old Hogwarts yearbooks. She had another hint in unraveling the mystery before her, and it came in the form of a man she had met over the summer named Kaishu Shiradou.
It was thanks to this hair flipping man that she knew her father could play the guitar and had been in a band. She hadn't caught the name of the band, but she was sure it had been mentioned in one of the old yearbooks...it was just a matter of what year.
Flipping open the Ministry book that contained profiles of all its workers, Kurumi quickly flipped to the G section and skimmed the various pictures until she found the one she was looking for. A moving picture of a man with kind green eyes smiled back at her, his appearance slightly different than the man she knew, but there was no mistaking who it was. "Hello...father," she smiled softly.

Fee giggled as she saw Anakin glaring at his book.Ancient runes really wasnt that bad, well at least not to the blonde."Ohhh nooo dont you keep that pout on your face",the girl laughed,"you obnoxious Hufflepuff you."He knew that she was a sucker for guys doing it.Tssssk, baaad, baad friend.Yees really bad.Raising an eyebrow the Slytherin just shook her head."Of course you have the brain power and you have it right now",she said,"you just need to set it free and stop procrastinating."Anakin needed to trust in himself more and just do it.The third year would so keep an eye on him.Her friends meant a lot to her and she just wanted to make sure that he really studied, after all your OWLS pretty much decided about your future. When the boy finally gave in,Fee laughed a little. He would thank her later."You knooow it wont be that bad",she winked,"and it will be worth it.After all you get to spend time with me,the awesome Fee, sparkling princess of Slytherin."Ohhh glitter,Anakin was definitely rubbing of on her.Now she was even laughing about her own thought, due to her own obnoxiousness.Fee smiled at Anakin as she saw hos surprised face."Of course i am",the girl nodded,"and yes you did something. You decided to study and if you wont give up when the first complication comes up i definitely have a reason to be proud."Seeing him laugh caused the blonde to join him.Daaaamn, you Amstern.
Aww it was cute how happy Anakin seemed to as the blonde agreed to help him."I am still just a third year and noooot super smart",she chuckled,"if i was super smart i would be a Ravenclaw but thank you."It was nice that he thought of her like that. The Slytherin surely wasnt stupid but she wasnt one to study all the time either."You know you are welcome",the third year beamed,"but i gotta warn you.I am a strict teacher."Okay, maybe she was kidding but pssst,Anakin didnt need to know that,yet.Hehe.Evil Fee.Hugging him back the blonde couldnt hold in a laugh."Maybe i should use my puppy eyes more often, too",she wiggled her eyebrows. It would be worth a try.
Actually the Hufflepuff was right, every love story happend to be unexpected. But this one was really special.Finding a letter that leads you to a woman who has a son who turns out to be the love of your life.Woah."Sort of yes",the blonde nodded,"but this book is special. You should read it some time."It still amazed her that Anakin really had read a love novel."My boyfriend and i came together unexpected too."Thinking about Hugo made Fee smile,he was so amazing.Waaiiit,he had read Pride and Prejudice?Oh my god, that was like one of the best books EVER."You my friend are my hero",the girl chuckled,"pride and prejudice is seriously great."And he even liked it.That was freaky.
Glancing at her from the corner of his eye, Ani turned his face to give a full on pout. HAH. SEEE! He so could keep it on his face! Although, now he wanted to smirk, so maybe he COULDN'T keep it on his face? Siiigh. "Maybe I like pouting though Feeeeefers." Obnoxious hufflepuff? SNOORT. "Gah. Obnoxious I'll take, but I don't wanna be a hufflepuuuuff." It's too bad he couldn't switch houses. Watching her, his eyebrows rose before chuckling slightly. "But I doooon't. Or else I'd actually be STUDYING." And not being distracted every five seconds. "Procrastinating is fun though?" He liked it. A lot. YAH! SNOOORT. "This is true. And your humbleness is just FANTASTIC Fee. I'm proud." Anakin chuckled, shaking his head slightly and looking at the book again. "Well, I'm proud of YOU for looking for the good in everyone." She was way nice. Maybe even too nice for her own good.
PFFT. Not super smart? Anakin looked at her, frowning slightly. "You know how your always saying I need to be more confident in myself? The same goes to YOU. YOU ARE SUPER SMART." Even smarter than him, even if he was two years older. "Nahhh, not really. You could have traits from more than one house." Yup. Her awesome!Slytheriness just were more than her super!smartness. Strict teacher? Anakin chuckled, nodding. "I knoooow. Your already making me study. THAT'S STRICT!" Yup. Anakin gave a small squeeze before pulling back, "But then no one will be able to resist you. And I'll have to beat more guyssss."
Anakin tilted his head, he didn't mind giving it a shot actually. He was open to trying things, even another romance book. "Sure. I don't mind doing so." Maybe he'd like it? Plus...it sorta made up for his lack of a love life. Not that he was suffering from it. "How'd you guys meet?" He'd never actually asked, or MET the guy. Which he probably should. "I am Triple!A." He should be everyone's hero. BEAM. "It was coooooool. And Fitzwilliam Darcy was pretty B.A." Yup. Bingley was annoying though.

BOOKS.
He needed them.
Mainly because they were a great distraction, and just because he loved them. Being around them or something similar was as close to paradise--no, that wasn't as close to paradise, but perhaps...the journey to paradise, yes?
Either way, Treyen hadn't been looking for any specific book, but he did take one book from the shelves. Some book about Numerology. Hadley would be proud of him, no?
He was actually going to stay and read a couple things while on the shelves, until he heard someone say the word 'father'. Well, eh, fathers weren't seen at Hogwarts that much, right? Plus, he recognized the voice, and was completely curious.
The fifth year Prefect walked over to the chair Kurumi was seating on. There was no way she could see him walking towards her, since she had her back to him...and plenty of books, by the way. He leaned forward from behind and smiled at the man in the book, "Is that your father?" he asked.

Kurumi has been studying her father's face and the manner in which he was smiling in the picture. It seemed...a more genuine than the smiles she was familiar with. More innocent and with less of the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Checking the date at the bottom of the page, Kurumi noted that it had been taken before her oldest brother had been born, and therefore most likely before he had met her mother. Still, none of this explained why he was in the G section or why his appearance had altered slightly. That still made no sense to her.
Kurumi was just about to reach over and grab a piece of parchment from notes from last term’s research when there suddenly was something leaning over her shoulder. “WAAAAAAAH!” she squeaked flailing her arms for a moment, paper flying all over the place, and the large book falling to the ground with a soft thud before lying face down into the floor.
Her hair had turned a burnt orange tinge in her surprise and she hid her face behind a piece of parchment before she realized that it had only been Treyen. He sure did have a habit of appearing out of nowhere and making her all flustered.
“O-O-oh…hello Treyen,” she said blushing the color of a ripe strawberry and lowering the parchment slowly. She then bent down and picked up the book she had dropped and put it back on her lap. “Y-Y-Yes…and no…” she replied a little sadly pointing to the name printed in sharp black ink under the man’s picture. “Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation, Charles Edward Gaunt,” she read looking back up at Treyen. Surely he made the connection that her last name wasn’t Gaunt?
The rosy color in her cheeks only intensified as she looked back and forth between the book and Treyen, but the rusty color in her hair had faded back to black - which was some comfort at least.
"Y-Y-You come here to study Arithmancy?" she asked innocently pointing to hsi book. Distractions were a good thing, yes?

Oh, for Gilderoy's sake!
He shouldn't sneak up on Kurumi, like, ever. Because his heart raced faster thanks to her little freak out moment. Plus, paper was EVERYWHERE now. Awesome.
He accio'd some of her parchments and handed them over. Such a gentleman, no? "Hi Kurumi," he said, giving her a small smile, no need for sunglasses this time around. But wait, yes and no? "What do you mean?" he frowned. And why was Kurumi looking at her father's pictures in the first place?
"But it says Gaunt, you're Hollingberry," he pointed out, after reading the lines while she voiced them. Unless her father had a name change, of course, which can happen.
However, the 'Gaunt' family name...it sounded familiar.
He chuckled and shook his head as he moved an armchair closer to Kurumi and took a seat there, "Not just for Arithmancy," he said, shaking his head, "I like the library," even if it means that this is the last place he could ever dream of finding someone he enjoyed running into. "But, Numerology serves as a distraction," he gestured towards the book. Again, Hadley should be proud.
By the way, he pretended not to notice the change of colors her hair had all the while.

“Th-Thank you,” Kurumi blushed as Treyen enchanted some of her papers to come back to her. Meanwhile, she gathered a few that had fallen at her feet and attempted to return them to a neat stack. After having done so, she set those down on the end table and returned her attention to Treyen.
Well, at least he had caught onto the names being different – while also stating the obvious. “And my father doesn’t look exactly like this man either,” she frowned pointing especially to his nose. “Father’s nose is a little different, as is his hair color…but the eyes and smile are the same.” Minus the innocence that this particular image was glazed over with.
Swallowing nervously, Kurumi set the book back down and gripped the edges of her gray skirt. She remembered the conversation she had had with Mrs. Elo during a Hogsmeade visit last term and what the woman had told her there. Kurumi needed proof that the elderly lady who rather enjoyed her firewhiskey wasn’t batty and had been telling the truth. Kurumi wasn’t sure the exact year it had happened, but she had two years’ worth of old Daily Prophets stacked to her right. Surely there was something in there about the…accident…or whatever it was that had happened to give the woman the impression that a Charles Edward Gaunt had been killed.
“He changed his name,” she said as calmly as she could muster. “I-I don’t know why…father has never mentioned it to me…” Nor did he ever tell her that he was a Metamorphagus until she came home at the end of last term and practically threw a dictionary at his head for not saying anything. “But, look her,” she said pointing to his mini biography under his picture. “Metamorphagus and he became the official Ambassador to Asia.” Yep, and that he how he met her mother. She assumed this anyway. Her mother and father hardly ever spoke about how they met other than it was love at first sight.
Kurumi then arched an eyebrow at the Hufflepuff with the sparkly smile – she should have brought her sunglasses. She never took him for one to like the library. Then again, their surroundings did assure that he was the brightest thing in the room. Kurumi’s cheeks flushed a bit more at the thought. “Trying to study some more so you don’t have to copy off my paper?” she teased as she gave into the urge to stick her tongue out. She had to admit, she would be a bit sad if he stopped sitting next to her during Arithmancy. "Numerlogy is fascinating though."
Kurumi liked numbers. They were always stable and constant.

"My pleasure," he said, after she'd thanked him. But it was really nothing, he'd summoned most of the parchments, that could hardly be considered any help, after all, it was rather easy to flick a wand.
Treyen was about to mention that his own dad didn't look as the Jack from 20 years ago, but never got around to say it, because there seemed to be something else behind Kurumi's story, or rather, Kurumi's father's. Plus, she was clearly wondering way too many things. Why did she seem so agitated? It couldn't be just for the picture, right? It certainly couldn't, because there were more than a couple of books next to her.
Official Ambassador to Asia? That was kind of amazing, actually. But strange enough that Kurumi was looking for information about her father in the Library here at Hogwarts. "If you don't mind me asking," he started to say, leaning towards Kurumi, "What are you looking for? I mean, couldn't you just ask your father about it?" why was it that Treyen Lockhart seemed to be one of the few that could ask his dad almost anything and still get an answer? "I may be able to help you," like, for real this time, because if she had to go through all those books, well, it'll be taking her forever to finish.
But then she--OH. Touché. He had to smile at her boldness, even if he did notice the blush this time, "I think all my parchments would say 'Kurumi Hollingberry' if I did copy yours,"Kurumi Hollingberry with hearts around it"I only make sure I'm doing the right thing," he said, and winked. Doing the right thing by copying. Now, that was a little bit like Gilderoy.
And then he raised his eyebrow at her, "I...kind of have to disagree, I hate numbers," yes, he was being completely honest about that. But, he was sort of intrigued by something Hadley had mentioned the last time they met.
Also, you know what? "For all it's worth, I prefer Kurumi Hollingberry than Gaunt, by the way."

Kurumi frowned a bit more as she glanced back at the picture and the description. That was just the problem though, she couldn’t just walk up and ask him about it. Every time he talked about his past, it was that he had always worked for the Japanese Ministry of Magic. The story she had been told was that after graduating from Hogwarts, he took a few years to study at some Wizarding universities in Europe and studied a semester abroad in Japan. It was during that time that he had met her mother and had put in his application with the Japanese Ministry to work in the International Magical Cooperation Department.
“I’m looking for answers,” Kurumi said simply shrugging her shoulders. “Father never mentioned any of this to me. He said he has always worked in Japan and never anywhere else.” And clearly he wasn’t very good at covering his tracks. Closing the book and hugging it close to her chest, Kurumi looked Treyen in the eye and her own violet ones shimmered a bit as tears began to form. “T-T-Treyen…I met a woman last term in Hogsmeade…s-s-she knew my father. Well, the him who was called Charles Gaunt…” She paused for a moment as her eyes flicked towards the stack of Daily Prophets. “He…He…He died…”
Thankfully, the prefect provided a pleasant distraction that turned her hair a slight tinge of pink. It was more a really REALLY dark magenta that most would not notice if they just took a quick glance at her. However, as each beat of her racing heart pounded in her chest, the change became more obvious. “I-I don’t always know what I am doing though,” she squeaked blushing a bit more. Although she wouldn’t mind if he changed her name to Mrs. Kurumi Lockhart with hearts around it. “Although, Arithmancy makes more sense to me than some other subjects do. With numbers, there really is no debating if it is a 7 or a 3. Numbers are numbers. Sometimes, with tea readings and the like, there is so much room for error. The difference between a giraffe and a shoe in one’s cup is very different.” Not that the two objects looked anything alike.
The slight frown on her lips disappeared with his next comment. “I think I prefer it as well,” she giggled.

"Haha, I hope not! By the way, do you understand the Arithmancy homework at all?" Emmy asked her friend, hoping that someone else at least understood what they were supposed to do.
Serena shook her head "I can't understand it, I hope I won't have to do Arithmancy next year..."

Okay. Answers. Kurumi was going to have to be more specific if he was going to help her. Then again, she didn't mention she needed help, he was just offering himself for it.
Treyen nodded as Kurumi explained, but then...oh, no. Were those tears forming in her beautiful violet eyes? NOOOOO. He couldn't deal with tears! Kurumi knew this much! And he WILL be panicking if he saw just one of those things falling down her cheeks.
"Okay," he started, shifting in his seat, eyes completely on Kurumi, "Well, sometimes our fathers tend to think we don't need to know everything there is to know about them, you know, but I'm sure he never mentioned it because he thought it didn't matter," there was no way Treyen could be sure about such a thing, especially since this was the first time he was looking at the man, or his old self, or whatever.
But then his eyes widened when she told him about Hogsmeade, but quickly returned to normal, "What were you doing in Hogsmeade last year, eh? You were a second year...," and second years cannot wander into Hogsmeade, right? Aha! She'd been breaking rules, like any Gryffindor would. "Have you considered the option that the woman was lying? Or maybe thought she read something else instead? Or, well, maybe the Ministry had him working undercover and he needed to fake his own death? That happens, you know," he nodded, that sooo happened in those Detectives stories he read so much. Or, there was the possibility, that the man named Charles Gaunt had actually been killed and then Kurumi's dad took his identity, but...that couldn't possibly be true. And it's not like he was mentioning it, anyway.
Hey, now. That magenta matched her eyes perfectly. Amazing.
Seriously, Kurumi? Treyen chuckled, "You know much more than I do," in Arithmancy, anyway, and about Numbers and Divination, "Actually, I think the latter gives more control over things, like, you cannot choose numbers, but can choose what object you see in the teacup if there are some that are similar," not the giraffe and the shoe, unless it was a high-heeled one, "It's fixed, and I think I prefer changeable things to interpret," that was also true. In BOTH, actually, but he was trying to make a point, and failing at it.
She giggled, and he smiled again, "Do you really need to know?" because Hollingberry suited her oh-so-very-much.

She giggled, and he smiled again, "Do you really need to know?" because Hollingberry suited her oh-so-very-much.
Kurumi was able to calm herself enough to be able to swallow back her tears. Besides, having tears flow now would ruin some of the older versions of the Daily Prophet she had on her lap.
Kurumi bit her bottom lip and chewed on it softly when Treyen focused all his energy on her and she felt his gaze on her like warm sunshine and her cheeks flushed a bit more. She really needed to keep herself together before her hair turned bright rosy pink...HER HAIR!
Kurumi now noticed that her hair had been changing colors and suddenly felt like she should really hit him upside the head with the thick book of Ministry officials, but she didn't want to risk damaging his pretty smile. Instead, she settled for throwing her hood over her head and turning her gaze down for a moment so that she could count to ten before looking back at him.
"Father always has he reasons," she replied nodding. "But...he wasn't allowed to tell me anything related to magic as a child. That was my mother's doing. She...she hates magic...fears it really." She paused for a moment to set her papers and books on the table next to her seat, kicked off her shoes, hugged her knees to her chest, and rested her chin on them. "They refuse to talk about what happened or even why mother is the way she is."
Kurumi's eyes widened when Treyen mentioned her being in Hogsmeade as a second year. Oops. It wasn't like she had hidden under an invisibility cloak or anything. She had just walked out of the castle and heading on over. Really, it was the professor's fault for not catching her, or something. Right? "T-T-That's not important," she winked. "I thought so...but she knew things about father. Mannerisms and personality quirks. And, she told me that father's family hated him. F-For falling for a non-magical woman...my mother." She turned her gaze downwards again for a moment. "The Gaunts are a very prominent pureblood family. Very proud...proud enough to want to kill off one of their own for destroying a bloodline..."
Kurumi's eyes flicked towards the stack of old Daily Prophets, all in the year 2049. It was mostly guess work, but seeing as her mother and father were always saying that Ryunosuke had been born in the same year they were married, so that pointed her to 2049. Her oldest brother had been born in late November, so there were a lot of months to go through.
She smiled when the conversation temporarily shifted back to numbers. "It...it shows how much confidence you have," she squeaked as she stopped biting her lower lip. "Preferring changeable things. Things you may not have any control over." She stopped herself from diving deeper into that train of thought. "Or I could just like numbers too much."
She aimless picked up a Daily Prophet for August of 2049 and skimmed the headlines for anything that may give her a hint. The article about cue tips being used as something non-magical people use to stimulate brain activity made her snort.

Serena shook her head "I can't understand it, I hope I won't have to do Arithmancy next year..."
"Oh, alright." Darn. Emmy figured she'd probably have to ask an older student for help now. "I hope I don't have to take Divination next year." Yuck. Her stomach growled. She looked at her watch and realized she hadn't eaten lunch. Oops. "I think I'll head over to the Great Hall. Wanna come?"

Oh, man, it was completely perfect! Treyen wanted to believe that he had something to do with the fact that Kurumi was not crying at the moment, but seriously, he'd be panicking if she started to do so. Girls crying was not entertaining, even worse if it was Kurumi.
He couldn't help to notice every different shade her hair was turning. From magenta to bright pink, to a sheer shade of it. Truth be told, he was concerned, because Kurumi's powers were joined with her emotions, right? So, there was A LOT going on with her, right? Whatever she was thinking about, she needed to stop. Or he needed to stop whatever it was he was doing, if he was causing it, right? The thing is...he couldn't ask. Aactually, he wouldn't. His eyes were still on her, though, monitoring her every move, just in case.
Okay. He got that. "But...do you really need to know?" like, couldn't she just let it go? "Whatever their reasons, they probably thought it was the best for you at the time," or the best for them. Probably the best for them, because someone like Kurumi should've grown knowing all about magic.
Something must've happened for her mother not wanting her to know about magic. The little he knows from when his mother was alive, was that she didn't mind magic at all. Awesome Muggle, eh?
Heeey! A wink. That was amusing, and made him smirk. Right. THAT wasn't important. Treyen frowned at her next comment. As unbelievable as it could be, there were still some families that preferred blood purity (or whatever was left of that) over everything. "Maybe that's why he changed his name, so his family wouldn't go after him," and he wanted to add 'or you', but that would probably freak Kurumi out.
So, Kurumi was actually a Gaunt, eh?
She was clearly the nicest one of them all.
He laughed. Confidence? His confidence seems to disappear whenever he's around Ellie, though. How reliable could such a thing be? But she talked a bit more, and he was reminded of his conversation with Hadley. And his future. And how he wouldn't want to have too many changes in them. It was rather ironic that Kurumi described him as someone different, though. "I've never really thought of it that way, but you could be right, you may JUST like numbers." And they'd established that he didn't.
He eyed the papers, and set his book aside, "Give me one edition and tell me what am I supposed to be looking for," because, apparently, he forgot.

Kurumi ran her fingers through her black hair and looked at her shoes for a moment before returning her violet gaze to lock on Treyen's. Would she fall over dead if she didn't know? No. The situation wasn't as dire as that. But, she wanted to know where she came from. Her father never talked about his past, always brushed it aside like it was no big deal. Meanwhile, she had been forced to meet her mother's side of the family every New Years and had her cheeks pinched and whatnot by women she hardly knew. "I want to know who my father is," she said simply shrugging her shoulders a bit. "All my life his bloodline, well, his magical side was kept a secret. It was only when our owls from Hogwarts arrived that we were...different." Well, more different than had already been established by the town.
"I thought the same thing too..." Kurumi replied when Treyen mentioned a possible theory. "I just get the feeling that it is more than just him changing his name. He altered his appearance too."
Sighing, she leaned back in her chair and hugged her knees closer to her chest. "I'm looking for anything that mentions an attack on a non-magical residence," she explained handing him an old Daily Prophet. "Mother mentioned that the living room part of our home had to be rebuilt because of a fire sometime before my oldest brother was born." She knew it was a long shot, but it was the only hint she had at the moment.
"You have more confidence than you give yourself credit for," she smiled as she grabbed a paper for herself to flip through. "You are a Lockhart after all." Yep, she had done a bit of research in the library on the family line. Rather unfortunate incident involving his great grandfather...or however many generations back the man was. Nice smile though.

Having those violet eyes looking back at him was something worth smiling about. If his favorite color was other than purple, then he probably wouldn't have paid much attention to them.
Okay. He understood. And he couldn't blame her. One of the reasons for the Lockhart kids to not get along was because one managed to meet their mother and the other didn't. In Treyen's case, he would've wanted to know her...thing is...he can still ask and get answers, but it'll never be the same.
The boy nodded, while holding a small smile, "Then we better get started," he said, his smile widening.
He frowned, almost instantly, the smile...POOF! Gone. "But, the same reason could apply to that, you know, in case someone recognized him," he said, eyes on Kurumi, as usual. "Are your brothers like you, Kurumi?" he said, gesturing to her hair, he didn't want to say 'Metamorphmagus' aloud.
But then the Gryffindor girl gave him a Daily Prophet's edition and he eyed the date, "2049?" his eyes were widening by the second, "Exactly how many years are you planning on doing the research around?" he blinked a couple times as he noticed that perhaps the stack of things he thought to be books, were actually Daily Prophet editions.
Well, HE had nothing to do. He could go through half of those newspapers if Kurumi needed him to. And he'll do so with a smile on his face. As long as cupcakes would happen next.
He had to smile, but it was a shy kind of smile, "Yeah, with most people," he shouldn't complain about the one exception. His eyes were on the Prophet when she spoke next, and he noticed something in her voice, "What do you know?" he said, eying her curiously, and taking his attention from some old news about a man named Kazimeriz.

His eyes were on the Prophet when she spoke next, and he noticed something in her voice, "What do you know?" he said, eying her curiously, and taking his attention from some old news about a man named Kazimeriz.
Kurumi's hands tightened their grip on the Daily Prophet in her hands, crinkling the pages, when Treyen asked about her brothers. "No..." she said shaking her head. "The gene," or whatever it was called, "seems to have skipped over them. They are all exceptionally good at Transfiguration however." She supposed there was a sort of connection there, if you squinted at the facts. "Father told me that my brother Takashi was transfiguring pocket watches into rabbits by age three. Startled my mother naturally. He was always the smartest in the family. Sorted into Ravenclaw actually."
She turned the page and scanned the titles again. Nope, nothing in this issue.
She set it on a separate stack and picked up an issue from the end of March. Before looking at the front page, she looked up at Treyen and laughed at the facial expression on his face. "As many as it takes," she said in a very serious tone as the edge of her lip quivered. Unable to keep her straight face much longer, she burst into a small fit of laughter. "I'm kidding! I do have my other studies to attend to." She covered her mouth for a moment to contain a snort. "2049 should be enough. It's the year my brother Ryunosuke was born in and mother mentioned a fire of some sort that year."
Kurumi turned her attention back towards her Prophet, but found her gaze once again locked on the Prefect. "T-Treyen," she said shyly reaching across and resting her small hand on his arm. "Thank you...for you know, helping me. I-I've been afraid of doing this on my own. Adam...he...he used to help me figure things out..." She frowned again and the shimmer returned to her eyes. "I'll bake you any cupcake you want after this," she continued smiling at him as bravely as she could.
After squeezing his arm softly, her eyes flicked back to the Prophet on her lap and now it was her turn for her eyes to widen. There, on the front cover, was a large picture of the same man from the Ministry book and the words 'Winged Horsemen Meets a Tragic End' above it.

Oh. So it was only her? That was even more amazing! It made her even more special than she was. But she didn't think so, did she? "That's incredible," he said, and his eyes widened only a little in surprise. He didn't know how the whole Metamorphmagus thing worked, since the only two he was aware of happened to be an only child, BOTH.
The boy blinked again as she said 'as many as it takes'. Well, she wasn't going to give up so easily, right? Oh, no, wait. Treyen chuckled, "I'm sure the other studies will understand if you focused on this, though," he said, adding a wink at the end.
Kurumi was being rather funny today, and...confident, sort of. That was a first.
"Okay, so, only 2049, good," he said, while eying the stuff about Kazimeriz for a little longer. The man was rather creepy. AND HE DIDN'T GET THE CONNECTION UNTIL NOW. That man had taught Potions in Hogwarts! Kaika used to speak highly of him. Why was everyone involved in Potions rather creepy? Because no matter if Lafay was beautiful or not, he still wouldn't want to be in her way if she was angry, or moody.
He was rather focused on the paper, and her hand on his arm had been a complete surprise. He looked up to meet her, and his cheeks had the lightest tint of pink. Yeah, he hadn't been expecting that. Treyen was still all smiles, small ones, though. And then he nodded, "It's not a problem, really," he said, not commenting on the Adam part, for it seemed she could break into tears if he did. "There's no need for the cupcake, just keep on smiling like that," just because he couldn't deal with tears, okay? Let's not get any ideas.
His eyes were still on her, which made it very easy to witness her expression. She found something, didn't she? Treyen let go of his paper and pretty much jumped to her side, the chair almost flipping backwards. No one fell, nothing happened, alright? "Winged Horsemen?" was that familiar to Kurumi?
Elle took an armchair near the fireplace. It was getting chillier these days. After all, it would be a few months before winter came. She scanned the nice room filled with students reading or studying. She smirked at someone who caught her eye and turned her book to page 258.
The redhead held up her book while she rested her arms against the armrests of the seat. She was doing an advanced reading for her History of Magic class. She was finished doing her homework and was free to do whatever she liked. And this, she chose to do.
It was getting a little musty, sitting near the fire. She shut her book and placed it on her lap and retrieved a cute green ribbon from her wrist and tied her hair up into a neat bun. Elle resumed to read silently.
