The History of Magic Classroom has changed alot since the first lesson! It has been charmed to look like the deck of an old pirate ship. There are still walls of course but the setting of everything in the room looks like the front of a ship. You can hear the ocean and birds just like if we were sailing away. There is even an occasional burst of wind that livens up the room a little bit. Nothing too crazy, but just enough that you swear you can hear the sails billowing above you. It is very magical and exciting.
There are still desks scattered around the ship's deck. Feel free to sit wherever you would like.
The professor has written a message on the board that is enchanted to scribble out in a messy but readable handwriting and stay for a few minutes and then erase and start again:
Quote:
ARGGG!!!
Ahoy t' Lesson Two: A Pirate's Life fer me!
Captain Gemma Cerulean
The Professor can be found at the door shaking everyone's hands as they enter the door dressed in her Pirate outfit. As you enter she greets you with a firm handshake or a pat on the bag and a hardy, "ARGGGG Matey!"
SPOILER!!: Gemma in Pirate Garb...haha...
OOC: Once again I'm sorry for the delayed start...yesterday our internet went down and I just couldn't force myself to post a new class from my phone...AHHHH!!!....so here we go!....
Please come in and have a seat. You may chat but keep it to a minimum. Remember that when class starts, you need to cut out chatting. Also don't post yourself coming in late, Gemma hates late arrivals and will not give you a warning, she will deduct points from the first time you are late.
I'm going to give you a few hours to get settled so I'll see you a in a little while!!! *huggles you all*
Ellie was finding this class awfully difficult today. Wasn't it bad enough that the classroom looked like a Pirate ship? Did they really need to take a quiz and change their names?
Granted, Ellie disliked her name about as much as one could. She was only content with her nickname. And the Stone part wasn't awful, she supposed. But...a Pirate name? What did that even mean?
She looked over the quiz with a raised eyebrow before filling it out. Truthfully, too, except for the name part. That was left as 'Ellie'.
Dirty Ethel Rackham
HAH. NO. No no no no no.
Retake.
After several of these re-takes. Ellie settled on Calico Ethel Rackham. Though, that middle name was almost as bad as her real one....but it wasn't. So she wrote it upon a piece of parchment and pushed it to the corner of her desk.
Aaaand where were the snacks that made History of Magic oh-so-worthwhile?

ooc. The quiz just randomized my first and middle name
SPOILER!!: ARG!!! A quick Ahoy to everyone that spoke with the professor!
Gemma smiled at the young girl, "Ahoy t' you as well!"
The professor tipped her hat, "Aye an' t' you as well!"
Gemma shook the young girl's hand, "Ahoy!"
The young professor shook his hand back, "Great t' see' ye!"
Gemma smiled, she loved the kids that were all about this, "Permission Granted! Ahoy!"
A student just saluted her...that was unexpected but awesome. She tipped her hat at the young girl, "All Aboard!"
Gemma cocked her head to side with smile, "Ahoy matey...please come aboard!"
The professor was excited to see a student with such enthusiasm about everything, "Welcome matey!"
Gemma tipped her hat slightly at the boy as he walked in.
"Please come aboard!" she said with a smile.
With a big smile at the enthusiasm of the girl, she said, "Thank ye. Please com in!"
The young professor smiled at the young girl, "Please come aboard matey!"
Gemma tipped her hat slightly, "Ahoy matey!"
She tried not to giggle but kept a smile on her face, "Great t' see ye!"
With a smile, the professor replied, "Please come aboard!"
She slowly tipped her hat and with an Arg! said, "Ay! Please come aboard!"
Gemma smiled at the young girl, "Permission to come aboard granted!"
Gemma loved the young man's excitement and answered with an Arg, "Ahoy to you as well matey!"
Gemma saluted the young girl back, "All Aboard!
The young professor smiled at the young girl, "Ah! Welcome matey!"
With a smile and a tip of her hat, Gemma said, "Arg! Permission to come aboard granted!"
Gemma cocked her head to the side with a smile and a wink, "Them be fightin' words matey!"
The professor smiled at the young girl, "Ahoy t' you as well! Ah, ye look great!"
With a smile, she answered, "Arg, come aboard matey and step in t' the adventure!"
She tipped her hat slightly, "Ahoy matey!"
Gemma smiled at Simon, "Arg! Don't be natterin' about mutiny matey! Them be fighting words!"
Gemma smiled at the young girl, "Permission to come aboard granted!"
The young professor greeted the young pirate with an Arg! and, "Ahoy! Welcome matey!"
Gemma took her hand back with a slight cock of her head...no manners no manners...she pushed that thought to the back of her head with a smile, "Permission to come aboard granted matey!"
Gemma winked at the young girl as she entered, "Arg! t' ye as well! Welcome aboard!"
With a smile and a tip of her hat, "Ahoy t' ye matey! Permission to come aboard granted!"
"Arrrr t' ye as well! Welcome aboard!" the professor said with a smile.
Gemma smiled encouragingly at the young man as he walked into the classroom singing a famous muggle pirate song.
Gemma glanced over at the young girl snoozing...yes sleeping in her class... She eyed her cautiously and made a mental note of where the girl was sitting. The professor walked towards her desk and looked down at the snoozing girl, "Ay matey, please wake up now or pay t' price." she said strictly towards the girl.
Gemma smiled at the boy, "Welcome aboard!"
Gemma smiled at the young lady remembering how bright the girl had been at their first lesson. "Welcome aboard!"
Gemma followed the young lady into the classroom with her gaze. No manners...what was wrong with some of these students...not even shaking her hand.
"Ay an' ahoy t' you as well matey!" she said with a smile!
The young professor smiled at the girl, "Welcome aboard matey! Ay, I be a doin' jus' fine today!"
"Arg! Permission to come aboard granted!" she said with a smile!
Gemma tipped her hat towards the girl, "Ahoy matey!"
"Arg! Ahoy matey! I be doin' jus' fine today!" she said with a smile!
"Welcome aboard matey," she said with a slight tip of her hat.
The professor smiled at the young man, "Arg! Welcome aboard!"

Gemma walked into the classroom and up to the front/top deck of the classroom. As she walked her thick pirate boots clicked across the floor and her pirate jacket flapped behind her ankles.
When she finally reached the top deck, she turned towards the deck where the students were facing and reached across her waist and drew a long sword. Her wand was hidden inside of the pirate sword. With a swish of her sword, the sounds of the water and the birds became quieter and the board behind her cleared.
With another flick of her wand, parchment flew in like birds and landed on each of the students' desk. The parchment was filled with a quiz.
Gemma smiled at the students. "Ahoy ye' mateys 'n welcome t' History o' Magic Lesson Two! Afore we can get started, everyone needs t' find thar official pirate name. Alfie's eyebrows rose just slightly as she heard the Professor announce that they each needed to find a pirate name; something she wasn't exactly prepared for. How were they supposed to figure that out? It was then that she sent a quiz to all of their desks, explaining that this would help calculate their proper pirate name. Oh. Curiously, Alfie took out a quill and began her quiz immediately, rather amused with the kinds of questions. But what else could you expect from something that would determine your pirate name?
Finishing moments later, Alfie gave a soft chuckle to herself over the results (what was that supposed to mean?) and then copied the name down onto a spare piece of parchment. She then placed it on the front of her desk, displaying the following to the rest of the room.
Hiss!Roar!Growl!Caw! | Hermione's Double | The Little Three | Alecate

Sierra gave the professor a suspicious eye. She didn't like the way that sword was being waved about so carelessly--as if it was nothing, nothing at all! She eyed the students in pirate costumes, giving some of them a suspicious eye, as well.
Then she set to work on her quiz. She rolled her eyes at the very idea of finding her pirate name--whatever. Some of the questions were just ridiculous. Who in the name of Merlin were Bill Gates and Ted Turner anyway? She hadn't the slightest, and so she simply marked something and then moved on. Ew--did some of her classmates quite possibly not bathe?! She eyed the Hufflepuffs, silently pinning this question on them. Did people consider her charming? Likely not. She didn't interact with very many people, and she'd even been told she was as friendly as a blast-ended up skrewt at least once. She smirked at that thought, checked off something, and then finished her quiz.

Whatever. If the professor called her that, she was just not responding. It was as simple as that.

On a piece of parchment, she wrote her pirate name.
"Done," she mumbled.

Merlin help her. It looked like she was going to need to compile more than just a dictionary for Viking but one for Pirate as well.
Kurumi only figured out what she was supposed to do after observing what her classmates had done. Oh, she was supposed to find her own pirate name. She supposed she could handle that. Were things like Cookie McGee alright? Looking around at other’s parchments, Kurumi supposed that that was not the case.
After filling out the proper forms, Kurumi checked her results and found that they were…the same as several other people.
Well, that seemed to complicate things for the professor. Having lots of people with the same name of Dread Pirate Flint would be hard to call on people since five others or more would answer with a hearty AYE! Wait, wasn’t Flint a boy’s name? Now she was really confused. Was this quiz faulty?

Treyen took his parchment and his bag with him, of course, because he wouldn't let any other Captain Tom Rackham take his seat. Or former seat, or whatever.
He may have also moved the chair closer to Ellie's desk, because there was no way they'd be too close if he hadn't done it. "Hey there, Ethel," her name was completely amusing, and he didn't mind that she had the same last name, unlike the other girl he'd been sitting close by.
The boy rested his elbow on the back of her chair only to whisper something he'd noticed, "You cheated, your name is not Ellie," not that it truly mattered.

And he returned to his normal sitting position once he notice his Potions' partner on the other side. He took his parchment and underlined the 'Captain' part of the name before winking at Sierra.
She had to listen to the Captain, no?
How come having her around made him feel that she was the first to yell 'Mutiny!' on the ship, eh? Scary.
Pushing herself from the wall, Aiden walks towards where Zara sits. Putting her bag next to the desk, she settles down on an empty chair at the desk besides Zara.
Staring blankly at the enchanted class, she suddenly asks the Lion an unexpected question."You don't think there a pirates coming through the Black Lake, do you?"
Perhaps being rather smart is quite disadvantageous after all.
"Nah, I think not," she said softly in her normal voice as she looked around. Nothing seems to not be in place. Maybe it was just to keep the students' attention to the lesson. After all, Professor Cerulean was great at that.

Zara blinked as she glanced at the parchment in front of her. 'This seems like a weird quiz,' she thought but picked up her quill anyway and dipped it into her ink before she began to answer.
A few moments later, she had finished and—SAY WHAT? Dread Pirate Rackham. "Awesome," said Zara to herself. Then she began to read the description in her mind. 'Like the famous Dread Pirate Roberts, you have a keen head for how to make a profit. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!' Again, she blinked. COOOLL. Heheh.
Writing this down on a separate piece of parchment, she placed it at the edge of her desk, and once again read it to herself. "Dread Pirate Rackham."
Did you just lose something? The GAME? Sorry... 'Justin Bieber, he is the man!' U mad, Felton!?
'Oh, YAY! WE GET PIRATE NAMES! I mean... Argh, I get me name for the swablubbers now! Does ta even make sense?' Rose said to herself as she worked on her pirate name. 'Hmmm.... Ah, got it!' Rose grinned

What was the professor saying again? Pirate talk. Eesh. She remembered her dad used to do so when telling her bed time stories when she was younger...she thought it was silly, she didn't need to know how pirates talked, right? looks like it was put to good use now, still it was difficult to understand.
So she kept quiet and followed instructions, watching anyone else in class as to what was to do next. Ah, they're taking a quiz, to know their pirate names? She followed as well and after that, Heather stared at the result of her pirate name....
MAD ETHEL KIDD.
MAD ETHEL KIDD.
MAD ETHEL KIDD.
MAD? she pouted at it. She wasn't mad!....maybe she would if someone made her mad, but mad would also refer to 'crazy'...right?
SHE ISN'T CRAZY...but she would be now because of the name.
still with a pout on her face, Heather wrote it down on the parchment and placed it at the edge of her desk.

Her eyes may have lit up a bit when she recognized the voice that was suddenly next to her. She flashed him a smile, as well. Ellie was in a better mood now.
"Ugh, it's horrible isn't it," she said, pushing the parchment to the corner of her desk farthest from Treyen. "Don't make a habit of calling me that." Seriously. As in never again.
Oh, and the last comment got a LOOK. "Shhhh." Hehe.

Uhh... Helena had a feeling that she's not going to like this lesson... much. She didn't quite like this whole pirate thing. But of course, she wouldn't complain out loud.

Gemma smiled at the students. "Ahoy ye' mateys 'n welcome t' History o' Magic Lesson Two! Afore we can get started, everyone needs t' find thar official pirate name. So loot a few minutes t' loot th' quiz on yer desk. When ye be done findin' yer pirate name, write it on a piece o' parchment 'n put it on th' edge o' yer desk fer everyone t' see."
OOC Translation: Hello everyone and welcome to History of Magic Lesson Two! Before we can get started, everyone needs to find their official pirate name. So please take a few minutes to take the quiz on your desk. When you are done finding your pirate name, please write it on a piece of parchment and put it on the edge of your desk for everyone to see.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
OOC: Okay please visit What's My Pirate Name? and take the short quiz to find your pirate name. Then post your pirate name in your next post. I'll give everyone a little bit of time to find their pirate name and then I'll be back. Please remember to keep talking to a minimum. Remember Gemma's still here even if I'm...she's watching you!!!!

Freya raised her eyebrows when the Professor said that they had to take the Pirates name quiz or something like that. Did she has to take that quiz? Oh well, maybe it'd be fun, right? How bad it could be? Then suddenly parchments flew around and one of it landed on her desk. The blonde didn't take a long time to finish her quiz. She frowned at her pirate name.
Dirty Anne Rackham
Really? Dirty? She's not dirty and especially she didn't smell. Wasn't she, She sniffed her hair. Nope she definitely didn't smell. Was the Professor gonna call them with this name during this lesson? She hoped not.
SPOILER!!: Description
You're the pirate everyone else wants to throw in the ocean -- not to get rid of you, you understand; just to get rid of the smell. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!
Mina cautiously looked at the quiz and frowned. Pirates really weren't her thing, but she would just go with it for the sake of the lesson. Eyeing the questions, she when to work on them. Some of them sounded silly to her, but she forged on with them all.
Looking at what she got she frowned. It was implying that she was dirty?!?! She was not at all happy with what she was getting and started over again. Going through it again she frowned as she meet the same description as before. Reluctantly, she took out a piece of parchment and write down her pirate name.
She just hoped that the name didn't stick.
Completely in his school clothes, only maybe with a Real Madrid shirt instead of the shirt, Evan raised his eyebrows suspiciously at the test. Seriously? If the professor hadn't noticed from his 1.80 height, he was a seventeen year old boy, almost eighteen, and he barely had any time for this. It could be fun with people younger than fifth grades, but the rest... he just wanted to get done with this class anyway. Professor Welton hadn't been like this... woman, who thought they were at a kindergarten. Mweh. Whatever. She wasn't worth losing points for, not with his green/silver badge pinned neatly over his cloak. He just had to do it, and he did, as quickly as possible.
...WHO were these people?! SRSLY. Not everyone was a Muggleborn to know them! Sighing, he just chose the answer he first saw... hoping the result wouldn't bo something stupid...

...dirty?! And what was that description?! Eh... whatever. He wrote it on a paper and raised it on his desk. Now, could they discuss more mature things?
Looking around, he read some people's names... one Rackham draw his attention... and he grinned at last, at Mina, who was sitting a few desks away. So she was dirty and a Rackham too. 'Sweet!' he mouthed the word towards her, though his mind did notice their surnames were the same... and he couldn't help but think maybe it was a sign. His smile froze for a moment as his gaze turned dreamy into her parchment, but no, he pushed the idea aside. It was stupid to think such things at Hogwarts.

Dread Pirate Rackham
Do all pirate names sound amusing with weird characteristics at the front?
...
While leaning back against the chair, Aiden sees Zara's pirate name in a glimpse."We both are Rackhams,"smiles Aiden faintly."Cool."
Simon looked at the Professor why couldn't he mutiny, he wouldn't do anything to bad just take over the class for the day, then the Professor spoke again, now this was good he had to see which Pirate he was.

Captain Sam Flint
SPOILER!!: hehe
Even though there's no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you're the one in charge. Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!
Simon smiled he was glad with that, so he was a captain that was great now all he had to do was wait and see what the Professor said next.
