Late! He was LATE! For the first time ever!

Treyen had been late ALL day, that couldn't possibly be good, and he'd forgotten to pack something to eat in the train, all he'd had was one Bertie Bott thanks to Hateya, thank Merlin the green bean had been kiwi-flavored.

But, no matter, it was time for the feast, and time to welcome some new Hufflepuffs, right?

This one was the first he noticed, mostly because she pretty much introduced herself to the whole table. Adorable.

"Jaymie, it is nice to meet you. I'm Treyen Lockhart, Prefect, and if there's anything you need at all, feel free to come and ask away," he smiled, surely he didn't need to add the 'Hufflepuff' part, it was rather visible in his badge.

And, look! Another girl! Another Hufflepuff!

Where were the Hufflepuff boys, eh? Why was it that he was always surrounded by girls? Fail. "Hey, congrats! You're a Hufflepuff. And I'm Treyen, your Prefect." Now, go on and be merry, child.

Your Prefect. That sounded completely weird. He was NOT used to that yet.

Maggie wandered over to the table that seemed to belong to her house. As she approached she heard a girl introducing herself. Smiling she waved and called out "Hi! I'm Maggie! I'm a first year too!" Realizing what she had done, Maggie blushed.

Maggie looked around and saw a girl who looked as scared as she felt. Smiling at her she introduced herself. "Hi, I'm Maggie. It's my first time here! In fact, it is the first time anyone in my family has been here. What's your name?

And just when Marie thought she would never make any friends, she actually found someone to talk to. Someone who did the same playing around with the silverware whilst waiting for the rest of the students to fill up the great hall.

"Patience is a virtue, huh" Weird way to start a conversation, but after all, Marie had so much time since the last time she sincerely talked to someone, for the exception of Knox at Diagon Alley.

*Waving down the table he smiled at Violet.*
"Ello Violet."
*It was nice to see his old housemates. Matty remembered his books getting spilled over in the common room. He couldn't remember how the books ended up all over the floor. He probably fell or something, that sounded like him.*

Violet smiled when she wasn't bothered by her talkative actions. She then replied,"That's what happened to me last term, my mother and my aunt kept telling me that I would Beaubaxtons but I thought I'd have a better experience here at Hogwarts and I did! I'm sure you'll love it!"

Violet turned seeing a girl older than her and then she smiled brightly saying,"Hello Isobel! It's lovely to meet you, my name's Violet Le Veela! Well actually I already know you who are, you're our Quidditch Captain!" When she went to the Quidditch games Violet thought that Isobel was an amazing captain last term! "I just wanted to say you did an amazing job leading our team last term! I hope you lead us to victory, though I'm sure you probably will!" She giggled, after her summer with Selina, Violet had learned quite a lot of things about Quidditch, and wouldn't you know it Violet was actually more interested in it now that she actually got to play it as Selina's. Was she considering trying out for Quidditch this year? ....Maybe!

Violet smiled again when Matty replied. Then she asked lightly,"How was your summer Matty?" She then immediately thought of the expression on her face after she had tripped over his books. What shocked her though was that she didn't spill anything on his books or him, thankfully!

Anakin mentally frowned, taking the blush coloring her cheeks as a sign he'd embarrassed her even more, which he really hadn't had any intention of doing. Biting his lip and glancing around at all the others gathered, Ani gave a small blink and a noticeable frown. There weren't many males currently around the hufflepuff table. In fact, Anakin was sort of feeling surrounded. Usually it didn't bother him...but for some reason, on this eve it did.

Fighting back the frown and turning to look at Jaymie again, he gave a small smile, hoping to make the girl feel a wee bit more comfortable. "Oh he is? Does your brother attend Howarts as well?" Maybe Anakin knew him. And if not, maybe it'd be a good oppurtunity to do so.

Looking back once more towards Cassie, Anakin caught her excited wave back, and he couldn't help but grin a little. "Hey Cass! Feeling better?" Not that she'd nescerrily been feeling BAD last they'd spoken, but she'd seemed to be just a little bit discouraged with all the jealous haters. Not that he blamed her, that must have been the one thing that would suck about being so pretty and popular. Anakin couldn't help but wonder if any of the other girls from other houses had to go through the same, he'd never really been observant of things like that before.

Janice loked around and spotted a girl about her age sitting down at the Hufflepuff table.
"May I?" She said.

Jaymie heard another voice and she looked to see who was talking to her. Her face got a little teensy bit paler when she saw it was someone who was older than her. And Prefect! "H-hi. N-nice to meet you Treyen," she said shyly.

Jaymie grinned when another person introduced themselves; this one her age. "Nice to meet you Maggie," she said. "Isn't this so exciting; being at Hogwarts?" She was superdeeduperexcited!!

"I have been looking forward to going to Hogwarts since forever! Besides, I don't even know how to speak French." It made her all tongue-tied, so she had given up trying to learn it. "Are you very superdeeduper excited to be back?" She asked in an excited voice.

Bleu was just about to spin her knife when a girls voice came from next to her. She looked up and smiled. The girl was wearing a Ravenclaw uniform. Interesting.

"Yeah, it is. But sometimes a patient person can be annoying, especially when your angry and they are all 'zen', you know what I mean?" She smiled, and held back a blush. Sometimes she talked to much when she was nervous, but meeting new people was fun, and this girl seemed really nice.

Aha! So her name was Violet. "Nice to meet you Violet." As Violet went on talking, she frowned. "Actually, I wan't captain last year; Melanie was." And, sadly, Melanie was now gone. Like, graduated, not dead. That would be tragic. "Hufflepuff has an awesome Quidditch team," she said. "Are you going to try out?" She knew she wasn't kn the team last year, maybe she could try out this year.

Isobel waved at Treyen, who was talking to her sister. "Hey prefect," she said with a smile. "Congradulations." It was so cool that he was prefect. Aaaaand...she was Quidditch Captain. And, of course, no one knew that yet. Pffffft.

Wait, wait. Seriously, WHERE were all the boys?!

It wasn't the name what caught his attention, it was the fact that she was the first one to attend Hogwarts. Awesome. "Maggie? Right?" he asked, after turning his head towards the girl, "There are no Wizards in your family? Or have they all attended another school?" like, Beauxbatons, or Durmstrang? Or Salem? Or, yeah, you get the point.

What an utter failure, he forgot to introduce himself, did he?

Well, Treyen didn't even wait for the other girl to reply to this little one, He simply pushed her gently towards the bench, "Go ahead, sit right there," it was a way of saying 'we're all family now', right?

"I'm Treyen, Treyen Lockhart, your House Prefect, and you would be?" hopefully happy to have him as a Prefect, certainly.

Did he actually scare the girl? That would be a first. He managed a very innocent smile this time around, not one of those blinding ones that came with being a Lockhart. "I hope you're happy you're a Hufflepuff. It's the best House, really." He said, with a softer tone.

And...where was his co-Prefect, by the way? The one that would definitely not scare little girls.

Prefect? He instantly looked away, the eyes searching for the direction of the sound. It was his recruit, hehe, and he waved back to Isobel as he mouthed a 'Thank you', before something caught his attention. It was, like, right there, on her robes. He'd recognize THAT anywhere.

"YOU'RE CAPTAIN?!" mind you, the boy was so surprised that he couldn't help to keep his voice down, nope. "Congratulations!" he exclaimed, with a huge smile on his face.

His eyes scanned the Staff table. Nope, no Chad Stryker yet.

Marie grinned back, surprised of herself and the girl, that spoke back to her. And well, as soon as she turned around, Marie glanced at the bunch of new students, all eager to begin their year and almost screaming about it. That was somewhat of what Marie didn't like much, but she couldn't blame the kids...Hogwarts could get a side that we may have never known.

"I think I know..." She said, raising her eyebrows and going over to sit next to the girl. Surely the Hufflepuffs wouldn't mind a Ravenclaw sitting around their table. "Marie Santiago, fifth year." She introduced with no hands to shake, just a smile.

Maggie started a bit before letter herself laugh in delight. "I'm so excited! And a little nervous. I can't wait to find out everything."

Maggie felt pretty happy with herself, she had introduced herself to several new people, two of whom were in her house. Satisfied she sat looking around at all the happy faces around her, wondering who to speak with next.

Jaymie swallowed and tried to make her eyes look more confident. She didn't really know how well it worked. "I guess it suits me," she said. "I like talking to people. And my siblings tell me I make too many friends." She considered what she had said. "My sister is a Hufflepuff," she said as an afterthought and gestured to Isobel, sitting next to her.

Jaymie turned back to Maggie and relaxed a little, color coming back into her face. "I guess I'm a little nervous too," Jaymie admitted. She leaned closer to Maggie and whispered, "Older people make me nervous."

Cassie got up from where she was sitting and slipped in next to Anakin. It was best to not have a conversation from across the table, not very lady like at all."Yeah, actually I'm a whole lot better. How are you doing? Are you feeling as handsome as you look?" She playfully pinched his pinch and chuckled. Really the boy had no reason to not be super confident in who he was. He was a Puff and he was hot, there was no questioning any of that and she was sure that he would have tons of friends in no time.

Bleu grinned hugely. A new friend that seemed very cool, calm and collected. Just like she was. "Willow Bleu Rawley. You can call me Bleu. I'm a fifth year as well. Nice to meet you Marie." She found it interesting that Marie hadn't put her hand out for a shake, but at the same time, why did anyone shake hands when they first met?

She looked around at all the younger kids and shook her head. She remembered what it was like when she was a first year. Sitting on that stool and getting sorted, being scared of all the people staring at her. Now she really didnt care what anyone thought of her. "Excited for the new year?" Bleu smiled and waited for a reply.

There we go!

That was a Hufflepuff-like answer, and of course it suited her. Everyone looked good in yellow.

It seemed both the smile and the softer tone had a positive reaction on the girl, because she got more and more talkative by the second. He nodded, yes, he could see she liked talking to people, because she was JUST doing that. "It's a Hufflepuff trait, I'm afraid," he joked, about the 'talking to people' part.

Then his eyes widened a bit when Jaymie mentioned her sister...was a Hufflepuff? He was about to ask who, but then she pointed to the Captain, "Oh, Isobel is your sister, then? I suppose you like Quidditch as well?" hopefully, she did.

Isobel caught him mouthing something to her that was either 'Thank you' or 'Sand Dune.' Presuming it was the former she grinned at him and gave him the thumbs up sign before turning back to the other people she was conversing with, assuming their conversation was done.

Since she had definately not been expecting it, when he spoke she nearly jumped out of her robes. He was loud, so she had a reason to be surprised. His grin was contagious, causing her to grin too. Besides, she was soooo happy and excited that it was hard not to grin. And you're prefect," she said, significantly less loud. She glanced over at Jaymie; she knew that older people made her nervous, so Treyen's loud exclamation had probably terrified her. "Thanks." She had already said congratulations to him, so that was why she didn't say it again.

Violet smiled brightly and then said,"I speak French fluently, but I've become more comfortable speaking English.." She giggled and then said eagerly,"Yes I am so excited! I'm looking forward to starting classes again! Especially my favorite class Charms!"

Violet blushed a little when she just made a fool of herself. She then replied putting a hand on her chest saying,"I am so sorry Isobel! I apologize for making myself looking a silly girl just now.." Violet smiled again and then said,"I wouldn't doubt it because Hufflepuff is just awesome!" She paused and then said,"Well, I did learn a lot about Quidditch this past summer and I have been thinking about it, so I probably most likely will try out.." Violet smiled again.

Jaymie smiled, still shyly, but less scared. "My sister talks a lot too," she confided in him. "So does my little sister, but she's just six." Maybe she would be a Hufflepuff when she got older.

Jaymie nodded. "Yup; Isobel's my sister." She hesitated then bit her lip when he asked if she liked Quidditch. "The sport itself is fine," she said. "It's the height I'm afraid of." At that moment, he said something really loudly to Isobel, and Jaymie jumped. Then she glared at Treyen accusingly.

"Why is Charms your favorite class?" She asked curiously. It was Isobel's favorite class too, and she knew why it was her favorite class. But she wanted to know the reason it was Violet's favorite class.

"Bleu..." Marie repeated her name, in order to make some face memory. "Nice to meet you as well. I guess we'll share a few classes this year, then." If interests in subjects were kind of similar, of course. When asked if she was excited about the new year, Marie shrugged.

It was indeed a hard answer to give out, mostly to someone you just met, "Well, I am. My interest this year is to give have a good time around, set my mind in school and forget about some other things..." Like Robert, and the memory of her dad. "But yeah, I think that's what you'd call excitement." No doubt. "How about you?" She asked.

Maggie looked at the older boy, and stuttered Y-y-yes she shook her head as if she was clearing her head. Yes, I'm Maggie, and I am, as far as we know, the only witch or wizard in my family. I think that makes me a Muggle-born, or so someone said on the train. Is that right? She blinked, and before she could stop herself she blurted out Who are you?


Maggie giggled, and whispered back Older people make me nervous too. Do you know what is supposed to happen next?

Jaymie considered that. "Well, right now there is the feast." Thank you, Captain Obvious. "After the Headmaster makes his speech we can eat." Thank goodness. "After the feast we can go back to our common rooms, and tomorrow the school year starts." Scary thought.

*Matty shrugged then smiled down into his food. After all the things that had happened to him this summer he had a very nice summer.*
"It went well. How about yours?"

Noted, he already knew that. But Isobel should've mentioned the Captain position when they met in Diagon Alley, no? Because if he knew he was appointed Prefect this term when they met, then she was bound to have known too, no?

Well, it's not like he mentioned it to her...

...so, it's all forgiven.

He was still smiling, though, a smile that widened at the sight of the pretty Healer back at the Staff table, he still had the letter, you know, the one she'd written asking him for the position. And how could he refuse anything to the Healer? Exactly.

Treyen sooooo wanted to walk over there and give her a big hug or something, but chances were that Headmaster Tate would banish him from the Staff table, like, forever.

It was a sweet voice of a first year that brought him back to the table, away from the pretty Healer. "Isobel?" really? She talks a lot? Exactly when? If she does talk a lot, then those Quidditch practices will take forever to finish. Nice.

Awww, seriously, Isobel's sister was simply adorable, and the biting of the lip sort of reminded him of someone...someone who wasn't a Hufflepuff, but he didn't want to look to that table, no. "Please don't tell you're afraid of heights," because a former Hufflepuff, Fletcher, also suffered that condition, and he looked mighty dreadful whenever he had to get on a broomstick for Flying class.

Oops.

"Eh, sorry, I got a little excited over the news." Quidditch Captains were a big deal to Quidditch players, Jaymie should know that.


He was going to try the innocent smile and the softer tone, again, but there was no way Treyen could appear somewhat scary to anyone. He needed Conan by his side, totally.

The fifth year listened as the girl started to answer, and he nodded all the way, "That's correct, it makes you a Muggleborn," he nodded, good thing no one called her something else, like Mudblood, that was a horrible word. "You're really going to love this side of your world." Because now she had two worlds, the Wizarding one, and the Muggle one.

Oh, yes, of course! "Who am I?" he chuckled at the memory of said book, "That's right, I didn't introduce myself, sorry about that...I'm Treyen, Treyen Lockhart, Hufflepuff Prefect," did she know what a Prefect was?
