Oakey just couldn't stay quiet to Daisy's conversation with Jory any longer, he loved Quidditch more than life itself. Taking his hand out of his potato salad flinging it around everywhere "ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT TRYOUTS!" Oakey blurted out. "I can't wait to see you there! My foster father taught me everything thing there is to know about Quidditch."He realized he was being rude. "Oh um, my name is Oakey by the way."
Quote:
Jory received a fistful of potato on his face. But he wasn't angry he found it funny. Wiping his face, he could hear Oakey talking excitedly.
"Yes, we are. Daisy is going to try out for Beater. Are you going to try out? Which position?"
Jory was excited. Even though he wouldn't be trying out, he was happy for his new friends and hoped they would make the team.
'Are you a big Quidditch fan then?' Daisy said excitedly to Oakey 'which team do you suppport??' She turned to Jory and said 'When I first fell off a broom I broke my wrist, but my Mum fixed it, she's good at that kind of thing. I have broken bones a couple of times flying' she laughed. 'I'm Daisy,' she said to Oakey, excited to find someone who was as into quidditch as she was. She added yet more ketchup to her pizza and took a biiiiig bite.

And there it was again. Her name being called by...? She looked up at the source of the sound only to see a familiar black-haired girl squeezing in between her and some other student. "LOUISAAA!" she squealed, giving the third year a hug, "I haven't seen you either!" The last time she had seen Louisa was... THE LAKE! Yes! The memory of their meeting was coming back now. "But wait a minute..." she started, "I was in Flourish and Blotts over the summer." Looking for you! Ok, Louisa really didn't need to know the last bit. Louisa hugged her friend back and pulled away with a big smile on her face. " You were? How come I never saw you then?" She had a thoughtful face on. Well, maybe because she spent her time there convincing a girl that books were almost the only joy in life... and made a deal with her to help asking for her wizarding family. " I think it's because I just bought a book and went out. We should agree that every year, we'll meet over there before heading to Hogwarts. I can't wait to catch up with you!"
She flipped her ponytail from over her shoulder and rested one hand on her cheek, tilting her head a bit so she'd face Kita. It was story-vacation time!! " So how was your vacation this year?" She smiled, " And I'm sorry I couldn't mail you, it's been not a very smooth summer for me." Louisa sighed and grabbed a banana to eat.

He was about to her that his favorite team was the Chudley Cannons and that his foster father was the seeker of the team, but remember the news he heard earlier today. Harvey had been terribly beaten by rogue bludgers released onto the field, and was left in a state that may make impossible for him to play anymore." I like the Fitchburg Finches." He lied to her with a smile on his face, but mostly he lied to himself." I moved to England from America a few years back but I can stop rooting for my team back home." He didn't want to think about his father condition at the moment.

'Fitchburg Finches, they're quite a good team, and i've always wanted to go to America,' Daisy replied, 'i support the Holyhead Harpies. I'm from Wales,' she added 'What's it like in America?'
Daisy hadn't heard much about witches and wizards in America, and wandered how they all went to magic school, as America was so big. 'Just out of intrest - are either of your parents muggles?' she said, just curious.

'Just out of intrest - are either of your parents muggles?' she said, just curious. " American witches and Wizards go to a school in Salem. Not sure of it's name though. I moved here when I was 7." Oakey's idea of America wasn't that big." America's nice." He said. " A lot of places to go for the magical users but the most populated place with us would probably be in Massachusetts." Then came the big question no one he had meet yet asked him if his parents were muggles. Oakey certainly didn't seem like it because he was raised by a pureblood but he was indeed a muggleborn. " Yeah." Oakey replied. " My parents were muggles, I don't care for them much seeing as how they didn't care about me." He didn't want to dwell on them for to long." My foster father, Harvey. Is all I need." There it was again the image of Harvey being repeatedly bludgered. Oakey frowned a bit his idle and his care-taker would no longer be the Quidditch star he used to be.

Daisy looked at Oakey a little sympathetically, she was curious why his parents didn't care for him, which was horrible, but she didn't want to ask too many questions and Oakey seemed a little awkward talking about this. She changed the sunject hastily.
'What subjects are you looking forward to then?' she asked, which was one of the questions she had asked a lot of first years.

Oh.
He...didn't know how to answer that, but he'll try, "They're Magical Beings," good start, "That perform magic without the need of a wand...and they're usually very small, no taller than you." He should probably add a bit more on the physical appearance, so the girl wouldn't think that some alien was attacking them if she ever saw one. Which was bound to happen, since the Common Room was too near the kitchens. Maggie couldn't wait for her growth spurt, she was the second oldest in her family and the second shortest, only her six year old sister was shorter. Thanks, I hope she agrees. She thought about the magical creature thing, and decided that she would try to not be surprised by anything. "Do we get to see them? Or talk to them?" She continued to put more food on her plate, trying bits of everything.

He felt excitement creep up on him again.
"Definitely! Because I'm sure we'll get loads on homework.| 'Ah, then you could steal sweets easily. I'd have to come all the way down from the towers.' she chuckled. 'The only way you could meet them is in the kitchens, I think they do the cleaning of our rooms when no one sees them.' the girl remembered having read that somewhere. 'No, I haven't. I'd go up there and introduce myself, but I don't have anything to say to them so it would just be awkward.' she explained. 'So Saturday it is, then. I'm very curious about this boat on the grounds, I'd like to explore it. Have you read about it in the Daily Prophet?' Ari inquired.

"Ahh, that sucks." But oh well. He didn't necessarily have to see the ship ALLLLL the time. It was just cool.
Mwaha, what had he heard from Hufflepuff? Well... "Loads. Like, I know where the entrance is, what it looks like inside. A lot of the school, actually. My..." Who had told him? Memory fail, herpaderp "... grandad told me? I think. He had pictures as well so... yeah."
Was he supposed to know a lot? Meh. "Nice ta meet you tooooo, Treyen."
The energy was wearing off now, and Noah was shocked by how tired his body was getting already. Perhaps all the adrenaline? Then.
...
...
"Treyen... who's that?" Noah asked in a hushed voice, looking at the prefect with a small amount of worry etched on his features. She was bigger than him (everyone was) and that was all he knew. He wouldn't have been able to explain why he was slightly worried... he just was. Kid instinct maybe.
He went on tug-tug-tugging Treyen's sleeve until he got an answer. After listening to the speech, then it was safe to say that the ship in question will be one of Hogwarts' main attraction this term. And he knew that Tate wouldn't let them come to the school if they'd found something wrong with it, right? Right!
So, to answer the boy's question, "Well, Noah, as you just heard...," considering the boy heard the speech, "...the ship is safe for you to explore it," hehe, the speech never mentioned such a thing. Treyen had a smirk on his face now, he kind of wanted to see just how far the kid would get.
Sucks? "Not really, because we're closer to the grounds, so, we don't have to take hundreds of stairs just to get out," that was a plus, especially when emergencies arise, which is...not that often.
Oooooh, pictures, that was nice. Noah was prepared for Hufflepuff, then. "Someone was pretty certain that they'll belong in Hufflepuff," what if he'd been sorted into Gryffindor? Then he'll know their Common Room layout and whatnot. Creepy.
You know what? He liked Noah. The boy was cool, now that he wasn't standing on the table. "Same here, Noah."
Wait...on second thought...
...why was he tugging at his robes. Tsk. He'll get wrinkles on them! Tsk.
His face turned from annoyance to utter happiness when he gestured to the woman in front of them, "That's your Head of House, our Head of House," isn't she the prettiest you've ever seen? Er, right, "She's also the Healer, and her name is Moretti, Lilyan Moretti." And Noah was free to call her whichever way the Healer approved of. Quote:

And she meant it.
Then, her eyes flicked towards his shinny new Prefect badge and her eyes widened.
"YOU!" she squeaked pointing at the badge. "You're a Prefect this term! Congratulations!"
Now he could put that smile to good use! Awww, Kurumi. She was so sweet.
And sure, he knew the look, her secret was safe with him, and he'd probably mention that if she needed any help with anything, then he was here for her...but...failed to do so.
It was all thanks to her, really, because she was the one that distracted him with all the pointing towards his badge. "I am. And I know you have two wonderful Prefects at your House...but if you ever need some extra help...," he said, with a smile, a very sweet one this time, "...then find me." It shouldn't be too hard, if he wasn't in the Great Hall he was at the Library, or the Hospital Wing, or the Pitch, or the Grounds...eh...yeah...maybe it wasn't the easiest task. Quote:

Oh, right, that owl, "Yeah, Gilderoy wasn't amused by it," his own owl decided to take a week off after that. Perhaps he was more like the real Gilderoy than Treyen ever thought. Or the name had something to do with it. "Thanks for that," he smiled, and he'd meant it, okay? Because he needed a break from Gilderoy.
Ooooooh, her soon went there too! Like many other youngsters, of course, "I take it he wasn't the most thrilled about England losing, right? It was a fairly awesome World Cup, though," most especially since he saw Vindictus officiating. Hehe. Quote:

Is there someone special that you're looking for?" She waggled her eyebrows at him.
Cass shrugged her shoulders a bit, she really hadn't been talking to that many girls since she got back to be honest, which was fine by her because boys were more fun and there was far less drama when hanging out with them, plus they gave compliments. "Not not really, I haven't been hanging out with too many girls...not on purpose of course but I really don't mind that I haven't. I do miss Brynn though." Yep her best friend was the only exception.
Cassie laughed. Whether in jest or not she felt she needed to explain to himyhow he should be feeling when he embodied his handsomeness. "You should feel like every girl has her eyes on you and that everyone wants to bask in your beautiful glory and of course that will leave you happy."
Cassie caught that grin that Alex was giving her and eyed him back. She wondered what he was plotting in his little head. He better not be plotting any insubordinate anything because she wouldn't be firing him But Alex was a smart boy, he knew that Cassie wouldn't let him off that easy.
She laughed and nodded her head. Yes she liked the song, it was a good song, besides the whole jibberish part of it." Yes Alexander I liked the song, now take that silly look off your face. But the next time that you sing me a song, sing one in English yeah?" She ruffled his hair.
" Oh Alex, have you met my friend Anakin? Anakin Alex, Alex, Anakin" Beams. Anakin hadn't taken long to scan the Ravenclaw table, having decided it wasn't entirely necessary, he'd easily spot the hair. There weren't a WHOLE lot of people with the same shade, though there was a few. However, he currently talking to someone anyways, and it was a little on the rude side to turn his head away. Lip reading was his only form of communication honestly. Anakin looked back at Cassie just in time to see her smug smile and read what she had said. Chuckling slightly, and shaking his head, he replied. "It's nothing scandalous if that's what your thinking. I'm just looking for a good friend of mine." Yup. He was just looking for his super gorgeous Ravenclaw buddy.
Anakin chuckled slightly, and shook his head a little. "I think we're a little switched. I haven't hung out with anyone of the male gender since...beginning of last term?" He missed his best friend. A lot actually. Siiigh. Brows furrowing slightly at the mention of some name, Brynn, Anakin tilted his head. "Whose that?" Not that it was really any of his business, but he was sorta curious.
Anakin couldn't HELP but laugh at her explanation, he'd never felt like that ever. The only girl that had ever really made him FEEL like he was something special to look at, was Francesca. And he rarely even got to speak with her anymore. So the idea of every girl in the room staring at him felt kind of ludicrous and foreign. "Cass, if anyone's looking over here. It's because I have the pleasure of sitting next to YOU. Girl's giving envious stares, boys drooling all over their empty plates. The works." Yup. True story.
Spotting someone whom she was speaking to on the other side, Anakin made to look away and give her privacy, before noticing the quick introduction. Anakin offered his hand towards the other male, and gave a quick smile. "Heya Alex. Pleasure to meet you."

Conan sighed. Thankfully no hyper first year had come to interrupt him. His book was rather exciting. He had now propped it up against his goblet and had out his pen and notebook. He could smell the food but he wasn't touching it. Nope bad food. Would give him some sort of wizard disease. Maybe he was become impotent. Not that he actually cared about that. Not now anyway. The food would make him ill. NOPE he refused it all.
He ran a hand through his spikes and picked up his pen, as his tummy rumbled. "No. I am not feeding you with this death trap food," he mumbled to it. He rubbed it and turned his text book page.

Noah's jaw DROPPED and he pointed up at the man he didn't know was the Muggle Studies professor. "I've seen 'im before! He was in Diagon Alley... had a right go at my cousin."
Mwahahaha.
But anyway, yeah. "I have loads of family and they all told me loads about this place. Which reminds me... I don't suppose there's any time to explore the castle after the feast?"
He guessed not. Being young, everyone seemed to think he had to sleep early, but here he knew being around the castle at night wouldn't go down well.
Anyway.
This Moretti.
"Healer... hmm. I'll probably be needing to see her a lot... I'm dead clumsy," he mumbled to Treyen. He WANTED to say hello to her... he was just scared. Childish fears, of course. "Maybe not, though. Yeah..."
Now he was mumbling. Maybe Noah WAS tired.

There. He finally seated. Next to the one person that seemed entirely off. And Treyen couldn't help but sigh as he overhear both the boy's stomach and his words. "Really, Conan, you should give it a try," and he took ONE single grape from the table, well, not from the table, but from the fruit bowl at the table, and...ate it. What? Did someone think he was going to offer it to Conan? "How bad can ONE grape be? Still, we can still make you a sandwich once the feast is over...," come on, Conan, eat a grape. Quote:

That was...perfectly fine, he was a first year, after all. Except, if that meant that Treyen had to repeat everything he said, then this could get tiring.
But he was pointing out some Professor. And if his eyesight didn't fool him, that was Zookara, the one he'd been gesturing to. "Professor Zookara? Really?" well, he guessed it was nice to at least know one of those people up there. Yet, it was more important to know the Healer who was standing next to them. "Why don't you sit, Noah? And eat something," that was a better idea, no? No sweets, though.
And...the timing? He smirked again, "Maybe next year, you first years are supposed to head to the Common Rooms with the Prefects, so, that's a NO for you." Now, Treyen, he could sneak out after the firsties were in their own dormitories. The firstie could look up to his second year all he wanted now. "She's the nicest person around, you know," he added, "You should say 'Hi' to her," yes, the fifth year was encouraging the boy to do so, and, since what he'd said was true, he could convince the little boy to do the same with Lafay. Fun.

She stood up from her seat and marched all the way across the table until she reached the boy. Standing behind him, Zara closed her eyes while saying to herself, 'You're a Gryffindor, Zara. Be brave. Be brave. You're only gonna introduce yourself.'
Then she poked the back of the boy with her finger, and waited for him to turn and notice her. As Christopher continued to wait for Levi (who was seeming quite glum) to respond, he felt something pointy jab him in the back. "Ow..." He mumbled softly to himself. He turned around to see a young girl looking expectantly at him. "Oh, sorry, am I in your seat?" He hadn't really been welcome anywhere, but he was used it by now. He glanced over at his friend... well they weren't exactly friends... but Levi. He seemed to take no notice, so Christopher began to stand up to let the small girl to have her seat back. Quote:

Christopher smiled and nodded. This girl was so awkward, but he thought she was just so adorable! Like a puppy or something! "Yes, of course! Most of my frineds call me Chris, actually. I'd be happy to introduce you to them, but they're a bit older than you. Why don't you just go talk to them? Making friends yourself is pretty important, you know!" Yes, Matilda would have a bit of trouble if she couldn't make friends on her own. "Do you have any nicknames I can call you? Perhaps Matti?" Heh, that was a good one.
Christopher began to feel a little uncomfortable when she asked his bloodstatus. "Well, I'm Muggleborn, but you probably shouldn't just go around asking bloodstatus. You shouldn't care whether someone is pureblood, Muggleborn, or half-blood. Prejudice isn't a good thing, little Matti." Quote:

Congratulations on getting into Gryffindor, by the way." The third year grinned at her. "Hi Tayla, I'm Christopher!" Making friends was actually pretty nice. Quote:

He had spent most of his summer at Whitley Hall and had developed a thing for Violet. Nathan was a great guy, but he was not one to take his feelings lightly. It all made sense. Nathan had their letters. He was the reason why contact between the two did not pull through.
"Oh yeah, you un, should bring that owl to the vet. Um how old is he?" Her palms were sweaty. This was bad. Christopher looked back up at Selina, and she looked mortified. Almost like she'd seen a ghost. Maybe she knew the reason as to why he couldn't get ahold of Violet all summer! Wait, was she sweating? Selina wasn't one to get get really worried about anything unless it was serious. Had Violet just ignored him and he was starting to guess? He sure hoped not. "Baltimore is only about four or five, I only have had him for three years." He was pretty sure that was not a long time. "Selina, I work at animal shelters, volunteer at Veterinary Clinics, and read about this kind of thing all the time. My owl is fine, unless someone has cursed him, which would be completely absurd."
Selina grew paler at this. Now he was starting to get a little freaked out. "Selina....... Is everything all right?" Uh oh. Quote:

Christopher looked up and saw a bold green badge flashing at him, setting itself apart from the rest of the scarlet ones surrounding him. He glanced upward and saw the blonde walking in his direction. "Feenella!" He smiled up at her, but the smile soon faded at his nickname. "Oh ha- ha- ha-. Very funny!" He teased her. He was tempted to inch away as a means to give himself space but he wasn't that rude.
What was even more surprising was how nice the shorter kid was treating him as well. He figured he would have tried to call him out for what happened on the train ride home last semester. The proffered handshake had almost resulted in Levi snapping one of his fingers in a fit of irritation. No matter what the circumstance was, the kid always seemed to appear at wrong and unwanted times.
He nodded at Christopher, quickly shoving a piece of bread in his mouth so he wouldn't have to say hi or smile at him. He didn't have the energy to feign cheerfulness at this time of the day. He was trying to mend his relationship with Cass and on the train, he had confessed to her about his not-so satisfactory home life, as evidenced by the new scar running down the side of his face. She hadn't even seen the bruises on his arms but he wouldn't subject her to that despondency. She already knew everything about him but Christopher had no clue...about anything. Why was he trying to be his friend? What was the point?
"Fine," the fourth year mumbled in response. When reality, his summer sucked. "Yours?" Levi seemed quite glum. He barely acknowledged Christopher, really. All the third year got from the older boy was a quick nod and two words. "Well, it wasn't the best." He shrugged. Atleast his mum had been somewhat less abusive. Somewhat. That's when he noticed a long, thin scar running down the dark boy's face. "Oh, my, Levi are you alright?" He asked nodding towards the scar, his voice full of concern. It reminded him too much of the large gash on the back of his own head. Not to mention the bruises and other cuts covering the rest of him. But he didn't want to asume anything, so if Levi really was in the same situation as him, Christopher would not press the matter. He didn't like talking about it either. Plus Levi had seemed less than friendly towards him lately, and he didn't need any other reason for the older boy to be upset.

Jainie was pulled from her reverie by the food appearing in front of her. She really needed to stop zoning out like that. Shaking her head slightly as if to clear it, she vowed to get a good night's sleep tonight as she reached for the nearest piece of chicken and something that looked like it was made with apples.

Guess pudding will have to do?" She shrugged and piled some pudding on her plate and dug in. Tug, tug, pull, pull. WHAT?! Kita frowned. Ok, this was weird. Someone was... doing her hair for her? Her eyes scanned the table, trying to find clues as to who the mystery hairdresser was. Her eyes rested on a nearby spoon. Quick as a flash, she grabbed it and angled it towards the top of her head. A flash of blonde and those hands working away... Kita knew who it was. A smile spread across her face as the blonde girl added the finishing touches. "Much better," she said, "Thank you Caroline!"
Kita glanced at Caroline's face and burst into laughter. That was forever going to be their secret joke. Maybe not so secret seeing as there were people there who would have noticed two teens munching on chocolate cake and acting... weird. But... what?! "No!" she whispered loudly, scanning the table again. But it wasn't there. No chocolate cake... what did they do to make the house-elves mad at them?! She sighed and looked back up at Caroline only to find... she was munching on pudding? "So is this the chocolate cake replacement?" she asked, a grin spreading across her face, "Pudding?" Quote:

Jaymie was glad she had decided not to go to Beaubaxtons; she had been looking forward to Hogwarts her entire life. Kita frowned slightly at the young girl. It seemed as though she was... scared of her? Intimidated? Frightened? Ok, frightened might be a stretch too far. If Kita was frightened of someone, she would have already ran away with some chocolate in her hand. For, you know, comfort purposes. But then again, Kita wasn't exactly what you'd call normal. "Yeah, you will," she said, nodding, "And then you won't want to leave when summer comes around." At least, that was Kita's case. Quote:

Regardless of this thought, a smirk spread across the sixteen year old's face. "Oh! Well, isn't this interesting?" she said, putting her elbow on the table and leaning forwards slightly, "We might be playing against each other." Ok, that is if she got into the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team. And what a big if that was! Quote:

"I think it's because I just bought a book and went out. We should agree that every year, we'll meet over there before heading to Hogwarts. I can't wait to catch up with you!"
She flipped her ponytail from over her shoulder and rested one hand on her cheek, tilting her head a bit so she'd face Kita. It was story-vacation time!! "So how was your vacation this year?" She smiled, "And I'm sorry I couldn't mail you, it's been not a very smooth summer for me." Louisa sighed and grabbed a banana to eat. "Yes, i was," Kita said, nodding at Louisa. How come they didn't meet? Hm... She frowned in thought. Now wasn't this interesting... She did remember going into Flourish and Blotts, where she helped a girl pick out a book only to end up having a debate as to who's house is better. Sigghh! But before the girl could come up with an answer that actually made sense, the Ravenclaw had already started speaking. "Oh! That could be it," she said, "But i ended up having a debate in the middle of the bookshelves so i'm to blame as well." More so than Louisa probably, judging by the debate. Meeting place? "Oh my days!" she said, sitting up straighter, "We should! We can't bypass each other again!" No, it wasn't going to happen.
And... there was the vacation question. The one she didn't know how to answer. Tell the truth and get someone worried or tell a lie and feel awful afterwards? Kita looked at Louisa. The girl was one of her best friends. She sighed. Truth it was, then. "Quite bad. Some good points but overall, bad," she said, shrugging her shoulders. Wait... Louisa didn't have a smooth summer? Something was up. "Louisa, what's wrong?" she asked, speaking softly.
