Large quantities of food are spread before you. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the Hogwarts' house elves are the best in the world. The food is superb and the company is as well.
The house poem, penned by All4oliverwood:
Get up off of your seats
Ready for some fun?
You ain't seen nothin' yet
For this years just begun
Friends are rollin' in
It's faces old and new
Nothing comes between us
Dear Gryffindors be true
Outside of the castle
Ready for things to fly
Lions are soaring strong
In a game that's do or die
On this autumn night
Near the crimson fireplace
Solid friendships forming
People so full of grace
Rockin' the competition
In a race for the house cup
Doing everything we can
Earning points to keep us up
Reeling for a win
Us Lions gettin' it done
Loyality guiding us through
Everyone working as one

Carter laughed again. This guy was funny! "Yeah. I bet." he said finishing up his breakfast. "I'm ready whenever you are."

Jai gave a sly smile and said,"They are nice but not yet. I've met two plus I have a friend in Hufflepuff, Cassie. We'll see though." Jai liked Carter; he was cool to talk to.
He tapped his stomach lightly and said,"Well, the tank is full and I'm read to go." As he rose he asked Carter,"Do you think we might run into any girls that might catch my eye?", winking at him.
"Thank you!" Ronnie said, sitting down at the table. "I am so hungry!" she said, flipping her orange hair out of her face. It was getting in her face a lot latley, maybe she'd need to put it up. "And yes, the food does look delicious!" Ronnie said happily, reaching for the most delicious foods on the table. "And I am very good, thank you, Zara! How about you?"
"I'm doing great!" Zara said happily. Yup, with food in front of her, she really was great. No problems at all. Nada. Hihi.

"Well I know a few I could introduce you to if you'd like." Carter suggested. Plus, then he could have a friend stuck with him if Caroline ever wanted to double to Madam Puddifoot's.
He chuckled. "Of course. There's always girls by the lake." he said standing up too.
ooc: you wanna go ahead and post at the lake?

"That's good." Ronnie said, starting to eat some bacon and pancakes. "Now here's a thing about me," laughed Ronnie. "I eat a lot!" she said grinning. "So anyway, how are you liking Hogwarts? What's your favorite thing about it?" she asked, curiously.

I haven't asked them if they could take me, they're too busy."
Zara chuckled with Ari, she was right. Heheh. "So tell me more about your family." She encouraged.
Ariadne didn't quite understand how come Zara's parents had Muggle jobs before and now worked at the Ministry. Maybe it was a secret, maybe it was impolite to ask, but the tiny brunette just couldn't help herself. Her curiosity got the better of her once more. 'Why did they change jobs, if you don't mind me asking?'
'Oh, my family...' she hesitated for a while, thinking how to begin. 'My mum is fantastic, she's like a supermum, she can do anything, except cooking, hehe. She's also my best friend. She owns a magical bookshop in Yorkshire and she's very smart and down-to-earth at the same time. We live together in a beautiful house, just the two of us, since I haven't met my dad.' she said nonchallantly. Since coming to Hogwarts and making lots of friends, talking about her family situation wasn't difficult for her anymore. It didn't hurt so much that her father had left before she was even born.
'I have no siblings, though I wish I had. Then there's my uncle Tristan, mum's younger brother. He's a lot younger than her and isn't married yet, so he's more like an older brother to me sometimes. He's extremely funny and outgoing. Of course, I only know my grandparents from my mum's side, the Marchbanks family. I have their last name because my father broke all contact with my mum when finding out she was a witch.' That part still hurt. 'One of my great-grandmothers was Griselda Marchbanks, examiner and member of the Wizengamot, pretty famous in her days. I wish I had met her. ' Ari continued, finally sensing she had talked too much.
'I suppose this is not what you wanted, my whole family tree, right?' the girl chuckled and stopped talking.

Smiling, she said, "Of course I don't mind," and she continued, "Well, before my parents had wanted to take time off from the Wizarding World. When I was born, they promised to dedicate their time to me and since working in the Ministry had kept them busy before, they thought of quitting it and getting a Muggle job so they could be near me. So, yeah, like I said before my dad was a doctor. Built his very own hospital next to our mans-- Err, I mean house. And even if my mum never takes me to go to her concerts since I've never really been allowed beyond the gates of our house, she still makes sure to go early, and be back as soon as she can. Then when she gets home she'll tell me all about how her day went at her performance." Yes, good times really. "But when I reached about 5 or 6, they got this letter and it demanded them to go back to their jobs at the Ministry. I don't know but I suppose there's a threat behind it or else they would never have come back. So that's when all the weirdness happened and they quit their jobs. And, tada, no more time for me. That was when I was mostly left alone at home," Noticing that she was speaking a lot, and may I just repeat A LOT, Zara quickly stopped and smiled apologetically. She must be boring Ari with her boring life.
Zara listened intently as Ari narrated her story about her family. She could never imagine life without her dad. She frowned a bit, but saw that Ariadne seemed okay with it. "That's a nice family you have," she smiled, of course except for the part of Ari's dad. It's a shame he wasn't able to witness Ari be a very successful witch. Yes, Zara knew Ari would be a great witch, and her dad was missing it. He should've been proud and not left them. Hmph. Shame.

Well, it was the typical answers. She's heard of the question since her first day. "Everything of course." Yes she loved absolutely everything.

"That's cool." Ronnie replied. "And everything is nice! Except for those Slytherins...I just don't know...don't they bug you?" she asked.
"No, not really. I haven't met any mean Slytherins," she wondered aloud. Yeah, so far, no one. They were all nice, probably because Zara's only met a handful of snakes. Maybe there were still others. "Why? Have you met some?"

Jade walked over to the Gryffindor table feeling rather awkward, but she didn't mind to much since she had her new friend by her side. The little short kid didn't want to just sit down at another house table, so she waited for Zara to do so first.

As Zara followed Jade over in the Great Hall, they headed for the Gryffindor table. But seeing as Jade seemed a bit hesitant to sit down, Zara smiled at her and sat down first. She patted the seat next to her twice. "Come on Jade. No one will bite you," she smiled. Lions don't eat snakes do they? Oh well, Zara didn't know. But Gryffindors weren't literally lions so they won't bite. Maybe.
Zara looked at the variety of food they've prepared as snacks. Yumyum. She looked at them all, wondering which one to get. She turned to face Jade. "Ready to eat?"

Thea swept into the Great Hall, gripping onto the strap of her bag. Thea popped her sunglasses on top of her head as she sat down at the Gryffindor Table.
Reaching for a plate, Thea then reached for her usual pasta and salad. Taking a forkful of salad, Thea held it up infront of her face. Nom.. bye bye lettuce.. and other stuff. Chewing on it slowly, Thea's dark eyes began to scan the hall..

'Yeah, my parent's decided 'Ooh, Rose!' And called me that... I used to get called Black Rose in my old school 'cause everyone was scared of me, as they and I didn't know I could do magic and I did and it freaked them out... I got suspended once for turning a girl's pencil into because she was mean to me...' Rose explained 'I love Hogwarts!' Rose grinned 'The food is lush!' Rose said as she reached for a Pop Tart. 'What about you did you get suspended or anything for doing magic'?

Jade had no idea why she was so nervous today. But hey! Food can help with pretty much anything... Well not everything, but maybe it could help here. She smiled at Zara, telling her no one would bite. Jade looked down the row anyway, just to make sure there was no one that would bite her.
She sat down at the table and stared at the food for a moment before turning to Zara. "Aw yeah" She said, giggling. "So what are you gonna eat?" Jade didn't really care, but she thought it might be rude just to start eating.
Tayla sat down at the Gryffindor table. She just came from the Whomping Willow, near which she and her friend William had danced a little tango for the DADA long term assignment.
She took a goblet filled with pumpkin juice and drank it heartily. Tayla looked around, wondering if anyone wanted to chat.

'A Hufflepuff? Really?' Ari was surprised, to say the least. 'But they're like the sweetest, most kind and calm and blah blah...' she pointed out. 'At least she can't annoy you anymore, since she graduated. So now there's no one you hate?' the firstie wondered, sincerely hoping not to witness Fee's bad side.
'Maybe. I like the CoMC Professor. Some creatures frighten me, but he taught us how to deal with them.' she smiled, remembering her first class. 'Yep, it exists, but some Slytherins are getting annoyed. Not fans of hugging, apparently.' Ariadne chuckled, remembering Mordred's priceless expression when some Hufflepuff had hugged him in the kitchens.

So Zara was actually going to answer her question? Cool. Ari listened carefully. 'Your parents sound like very practical people, leaving the Wizarding World to raise you.' But not allowing her to leave the premises of their house?!? What was that all about? 'Err-so you've never left your house? You never play with the children in the neighbourhood? Or go on trips?' Ariadne had to ask. Did this mean she hadn't even been to Diagon Alley to buy her supplies? So many questions popped in Ari's mind at once. And a threat? 'Is there any reason why you think the Ministry might have threatened your family?' Zara sure had an interesting life.
'We're a pretty nice family, yes. Mum tried hard to rebuild our lives after my father left, and I suppose she did a great job with that. She's amazing, really.' Ariadne nodded.
Thea's eyes rested.. rather suddenly on a familiar looking face. 'Hi! I'm Thea.' She smiled back at the girl. Narrowinf her eyes slightly, she ate another bit of salad. 'Haven't we talked before?..' Thea patted the space next to her. 'You can sit with me if you like!'
