Why had he decided to do this, again? Right. The decision to give something novel a try. Jared couldn't help looking utterly laid-back and utterly lazy as he waited for the Badgers and Serpents to step into the court, though. He divested himself of the twin bags of gobstones - both bearing the Hogwarts crest; but one full of green gobstones, and the other of yellow ones - in his possession, and handed them over to the respective teams.

Was he supposed to say something?

Mr. Tyler and Miss Flores roll a gobstone each, the former representing Hufflepuff and the latter, Slytherin. Both aims have precision, but after a few breath-taking moments in which it seems the round can go to either house, it becomes clear that the yellow gobstone is just a tad closer to the Jack Stone, than the green one.

The Badgers bag the round.

Conan Tyler is an excellent find for the Badgers: the second year's aim is, once again, precise. The yellow gobstone just rolled comes in contact with the Jack stone, causing it to spew some gob in the direction of the Snakes.

Slytherin refuses to let go of its lead: Miss Flores rolls a gobstone that goes bouncing across the pit, coming to a stop half a centimetre away from the Jack Stone. The Hufflepuffs hesitate for several seconds, ultimately deciding not to challenge the shot.

With another round under its belt, Slytherin is now well and truly in the lead. There's still hope for Hufflepuff, however, and the match itself can go to either house.

The Charlatan told the people that Babbity turned into a tree and it was to be cut down, but when they did and everyone started to walk away, they all heard a crackling come from the stump. She told them that a real witch couldn't be cut in half and told them to try it on the Charlatan, who then confessed that he was no sorcerer and was a fraud.

Miss Flores proves that her precision is not just a matter of luck with another expert shot. The gobstone she has just rolled comes in contact with the Jack Stone, and the Jack Stone lets out a spurt of goo that lands right on the Badgers.

With Slytherin now one round away from victory, things are beginning to look dire for Hufflepuff.

There's no stopping Evelyn today: the sixth year rolls another green gobstone, and it's clear even before the gobstone is halfway across the pit, that it will find its mark. The Jack Stone sputters out an amount of gob, causing some of the players to duck.

All is quiet at the Hufflepuff end. Slytherin leads the new round with one, well-earned point.

Aiden and Conan's gobstones rolled across the pitch, quite close to each other - for a moment, it almost looked as if the green and yellow gobstones were about to collide and knock each other out of play. Then the yellow one veered off its course, and its green rival sailed right into the Jack Stone, pretty much knocking it off and causing it to spurt gob in all directions.

Good thing he'd cast that charm on himself beforehand, or he'd have been covered in gob by now.

"Match over," Jared announced. "Slytherin wins, and proceeds to the Championship match. Hufflepuff will battle for third place, in the Consolation Match." His deep green gaze swept the viewing area, before he spoke again. "Don't forget to shake hands with your opponents before leaving," he drawled. "Good game, everyone."
