Perhaps it was just the excitement of another year coming to an end, but the last place Josephina had been thinking about being was the Gobstones court. Nonetheless, she had the final match to officiate and she would do so with her usual sense of enthusiasm and charisma. Stepping into the court area a few minutes prior to the scheduled start time, she removed the twin gobstones bags from her bag; one full of green marbles and the other red ones. Handing them over to the respective teams as they filed into the court area, she rocked slightly on her heels, itching to begin.

"You all should have familiarized yourself with the rules," she began. "There will be a zero tolerance for cheating. Good luck."

The snakes and lions were off to a fearsome start; with Evelyn Flores rolling first the snakes. Fierce competition she provided too as her green stone rolled a few millimeters closer to the center Jack Stone than the red one rolled by the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain and Resident House Nerd, Simon Bennett.

Fearsome is underestimated as both players take their time in rolling their stones this next time. But after a moment or two, both Evelyn and Simon release their stones at close to the same time. Hadley's hazel eyes followed the green and red stones on the court and just when it seemed like they were both to stop at the same point, meaning a potential draw, they didn't. The red one inched further just a bit past and closer to the center Jack Stone than the green one.

The teams are now tied for the first round.

They are magical in nature, they actively harm for no reason other than that they can, they usually do not have a complete life cycle the way a typical animal but exists simply as a physical extension of an evil intention.

Just a fluke perhaps, because Evelyn added just the right amount of force into her throw this time as compared with her last, her green stone rolling a millimeter from the Jack Stone. The red stone would have to be thrown extremely cautiously if they wanted to get closer than the green one. Not even the she-snake's boyfriend, Josh Carter could outdo it.

But it seemed that this round was cut out to be Slytherin, as the center Jack Stone spews its first bout of gob onto the Red Players.

Not liking the face full of smelly gob, Simon Bennett decided to try harder next time, glaring back at his housemate Josh Carter, who was evidently distracted by his Snake girlfriend. Focused, he aimed and rolled his red stone, precisely the same moment again as said girlfriend. Within seconds, they stopped and once more, the red one was deemed closer to the center.

If they kept up the back and forth, then this would be a long match.

Long match is what it was going to be; at least that's what Josephina decided on, as Evelyn glared at the two Lion males. She was determined and ambitious enough to be able to take on the besties, one of which was her boyfriend, and was not about to let familiarity get in her way.

That's right. Her green stone rolled right up to the center Jack Stone; a good two inches closer than the red one thrown by Josh Carter. Slytherin gains the point.

Feeling overly confident, Evelyn rolls her green stone again, but apparently it was too rushed or something. Her hand slips and the stone rolls off course and stops near the edge of the court. Gaining on the advantage, Simon takes it up, rolling his own stone, which glides onto the court and with ease claims the spot the closest to the Jack Stone.

Gryffindor gains the point and the round.

Not letting the boys distract her again, Evelyn took a more careful, yet speedy approach this time. Batting her eyelashes at them, she turned her attention back to the court and rolled. Simon took her on again; rolling his red stone not long after. It bounced a couple times, before rolling toward the center and stopped a centimeter or two from the Jack Stone. The green one rolled smoothly toward the center, stopping only after it was a millimeter closer to the Jack Stone than the red one.
