Where The Quidditch Pitch
Who Can Attend Hogwarts students of all ages are welcome to attend
What to Bring Broomsticks are needed for the practical portion of the lesson.
Goggles and gloves are optional.
Anti-cheating quills will be available for the theoretical (located in the Bludgers and Broomsticks thread)
School broomsticks will be provided for First Years and for those who do not own their own broomsticks.
The Quidditch Stadium was the location for the practical portion of the Flying Final Exam. The broom rack containing the school brooms was located next to the main entrance to the field. But for those who knew the Flying Professor, it was rather odd for him to use the stadium in the days leading up to the championship game - in the past, he always kept the students off the grass and opted to use the school grounds for the finals.
It wasn't hard to find Professor Vindictus - he was leaning against the stands and was wearing the pirate hat. From his body language, it appeared that he was waiting for the pupils to arrive and to be seated on the grass before him.

The Captain still had to get his treasure....

He just wouldn't give up, would he?
Fishlips scowled as his spell was blocked, and leaned in on his broom, intent on stopping the lubber from intercepting the Captain and Charlotte.

He traced her lips with his fingertips and then tilted her chin upwards, ever so gently. Barnabus leaned in and his lips gently caressed those of his beloved Charlotte.
At that moment, a mystic blue mist appeared and wrapped itself around the two adults. The same color of mist began appearing around those who thought they were pirates.
But it seemed that he wasn't needed as the Captain's love seemed to be as agile as ever in the other woman's body. When the two finally reconnected, he leaned back on his broom, stalling the wooden stick and grinned widely. They'd found the treasure!
He wasn't even aware of the mistic blue that wrapped itself around him and the broom....

"Zoom down?" Kurumi gulped looking towards the pitch and all the chaos ensuing below. "I-I am not sure zoom would be the proper word, but I might be able to glide very cautiously towards the pitch..."
Kurumi's free hand held onto Treyen's robe, or hand, whatever was closest to her as she slowly began her decent...when she saw something that she certainly hadn't been expecting.
PROFESSOR VINDICTUS WAS KISSING HER HEAD OF HOUSE!
o___________________________O
Kurumi's cheeks blushed and she instantly looked away. No one should witness all that, right? Especially after she heard words like treasure and heart being thrown around. After a few moments, Kurumi peeked at the pitch again and saw a ghostly smoke wrap around the two professors.
"T-Treyen..." Kurumi stammered tugging on whatever bit of him she was holding onto. "W-W-What's that!?"
At least Kurumi did manage to land very nicely on the ground, no? He didn't know, he'd been very busy eyeing the blue mist around his Co-Prefect and best friend.
But the mist didn't seem to be doing them any harm...wait, wait, wait, WHERE had it come from in the first place!?
Huh? Kurumi? His head turned to face her, and he didn't even notice he was still holding her hand or anything, there were, like, a bunch of different things happening at the same time. Including the broomstick he'd been flying...dying. That was pretty dramatic. What an amazing Flying Final, no?
"I....have no idea, it's probably just a mist?" that didn't involve either of them? Yeah, awesome.

Chad let out a little squeak as his attempts to get in between failed and Kimber was in Vindictus' arms. They kissed. That earned another squeak from him. He was even too distraught to acknowledge the quidditch captain trying to be a tough guy. What was the kid going to do anyways? Poke him? Hit him with a broom. Anything would be better than what was unfolding in front of him.
His eye twitched a little in compensation for holding back punching Vindictus. It wasn't like he could do it anyway. Not with Kimber in the way...not like it mattered anyhow...
Chad was about to back away when, all of a sudden, there was some blue mist appearing around them. What the heck is going on!?

Selina watched in horror as a zoo of mahem errupted on the ground below her. All of the people who were pretending they were pirates were causing a scene below and Simon was acting quite peculiar as well. She knew that he hadn't been in his right mind as of late... but this was a little much.
Then... it happened. One minute she was dodging curses and the next Vindictus was kissing Donovan! What had the world come to? She was shocked... what else could go weird?
Barnabus watched as Charlotte ran towards him. Another man started running after her, and he swore under his breath. But she was faster! Barnabus gasped as Charlotte lost her balance and suddenly, she was in his arms. His strong arms circled around her and pulled her close. At that moment, a mystic blue mist appeared and wrapped itself around the two adults. The same color of mist began appearing around those who thought they were pirates.
When Charlotte felt Barnabus' arms around her, she lifted her head and gazed into her lover's perfect eyes. "Can it be?" she whispered as her body trembled with raw emotion. "After these many years. My love has returned at last."
She held his gaze as his hand - oh how she'd missed his touch! - caressed her cheek and melted into his embrace, sighing softly as his lips claimed hers...
...
The sound of many disconnected voices invaded the librarian's subconscious. She felt arms around her... Lips against her own... and a gentle breeze. No dream had ever felt this real!
Fright overcame her and Kimber opened her eyes with a start. "PROFESSOR!" she shrieked, slapping him smartly across his face. "What the in HELL are you doing?!" she demanded. And how had he gotten her here?! Her head was spinning. She stood planted on the spot, mouth hung open, eyes blinking rapidly.

Arya didn't know she was on a broom when the mist finally dissolved, or that she was at the flying final, not at first. It was her quick reflexes that had her steadying her broom when it went crashing to the ground, though she struggled a bit to land with her clouded mind, stumbling back to the ground.
Why was she on a broom... and at the flying final??
Holstering her wand, why did she EVEN have that out, she let the broom fall to the ground as her hands lightly gripped the sides of her head in hopes of steadying herself. And maybe figure out what the heck had just happened.
She wasn't even going to THINK about what Vindictus and Donovan were doing. Not. At. All.

Chad blinked a couple times watching the entire scene. It was only when Kimber screamed, followed by a loud SMACK!, that he was brought back to earth. That was his cue!
Putting his mean face on, Chad forced his way between the pair and threw a (what he believed to be well deserved) punch in the general aim of Vindictus's face.

One moment Sherman Buffington was staring down the groundskeeper the next...a blue mist cut them off from each other....
...When it had cleared, Simon Bennett remained, wondering why in the world he had his wand out and prepared to aim at the older man.
What in Merlin's beard?
He quickly put his wand away in his robe pocket, not wanting to risk getting in trouble for his actions...whatever they were. The captain frowning trying to think of what as going on, just barely registering that they were all on the quidditch pitch. Why were they here? Was it class....a practice? he mused to himself looking around and taking in all those gathered around...Stryker...Selina...Sierra...Lexi among others. Simon quickly turned as a woman screamed, just in time to spot his head of house slapping Vindictus.
Ug...what happened?
The captain hadn't the time to dwell as he held his spinning head as the groundskeeper pushed past him to the pair, punching the quidditch official squarely in the face. Simon blinked a few times as the behavior of the adults, sighing as he collapsed to sitting indian style on the grass.

The dream was so real. Gorgeous strawberry blonde with porcelain skin, rosy cheeks and ice blue eyes. Her lips were soft and her breath was sweet . . . .
SMACK!
"OWWW!" exclaimed Vindictus as his cheek stung from a hard slap.
Then he opened his eyes.
Before him stood Kimber who was definitely not the woman in his dreams. He saw that her brown eyes were afire. So where'd the other woman go?
"What did you do THAT for?"
And then he realized that he had his hands on her waist. Quickly, Vindictus removed his hands and held them up as he took two steps backwards.
"Ooookaaaayyy. This is -."

THWACK!
The sentence was interrupted by Chad's fist striking Vindictus's nose. The crunching noise was quickly followed by a small splattering of blood and mucus.
"OOOOWWWWW!" he exclaimed and the blow was hard enough for him to be seeing stars. The pirate hat fell off his head as Vindictus stumbled backwards and he was a little unsteady on his feet.
He brought his hand up to his broken nose. "You HIT me. Why?" he demanded of Stryker. It was at that moment that he realized that students were standing around . . . with damaged (and possibly ruined) broomsticks.
Gulp.

It all happened so fast. One minute everyone was talking in a foreign pirate dialect and the next a blue mist had taken over the ground below her. She then saw the head of her house kiss her flying Professor and then the Groundskeeper punch said Professor in the nose. However, all of these events were insignificant to Selina as she saw her Captain buckle to the ground after the mist had encased him. Her heart fluttered with panic as she dove for the ground and then when she was a foot away from the ground she slid off of her broom and ran over to Simon.
She knelt down on the ground in front of him. Her hand found his shoulder and she said softly, "Captain...? Are you okay?"
The last sentence she said was so soft that even she had to think twice to notice if she had even said it, "Please be okay."

Waddaya mean 'why'? Vindictus, man, why are you playing dumb?
"...You kissed Kimber! And...and...obviously she did not want to be kissed by you," he answered. Personal life was nothing for the students to hear. "Why did you kiss her!?"
Ohhh, now he was feeling bad for breaking Max's nose. Why couldn't he be all bad and what not for once without his guilt kicking in. Ugh.
"Are you okay? You look a little woozy. And...why were you calling Kimber 'Charlotte'?" Or...better yet, what the heck was going on!?

Realizing just where her hand was, Kurumi blushed and quickly pulled her hand away, her hair turning just the slightest shade of rosy pink.
Just then, Kurumi saw the figure of Sierra come rolling out of the blue mist and looking a little worse for wear. Kurumi owed Sierra a lot - although she didn't know what all the second year had done while as Kurumi, Kurumi knew that she had made a mess of Sierra's relationship with Conan.
"Y-You have been in Flying this whole time..." she replied fumbling in her pockets for a canary yellow handkerchief. "Casting spells, especially Aguamenti, up in the air...you just fell from your broom..." She handed her the handkerchief and smiled nervously.

Treyen realized that he'd been holding Kurumi's hand all along when she removed her hand from his grasp. Right. That was the smart thing to do.
And, Donovan had punched Vindictus, Chad had punched Vindictus, could they all punch Vindictus now? Actually, he didn't know what all that was for, but AWESOME job, Mr. Stryker. Someone must make Vindictus gain some sense.
After hearing his name again, he looked over to Sierra and...no, he still didn't think she looked too bad, blame Quidditch for that, but he still helped her up with both his hands. He didn't need to answer her questions, though, because Kurumi had done so, and even gave Sierra a handkerchief. How...nice, Sierra better be nice to Kurumi.
"You...didn't seem to be the only one in this situation, though," because Arya was also looking as lost as Sierra was.
It's obvious that Professor Vindictus isn't in the best shape to continue with the lesson and has realized that something is wrong with his broomsticks.
Return the brooms and sort them into three (3) different piles - destroyed, damaged (but fixable), and undamaged. When placing your broom in the pile, please describe the broom (is the handle broken? tail twigs burnt off? etc.) and how it performed for you in the air (was it wobbly? did you soar higher than intended? etc.) The more descriptive you are regarding the broom's condition, the more points you can receive (I'm looking at the quality of the post versus how many posts you made).
It's perfectly acceptable to be interacting with others as you complete this task - this choice is yours. Once you have returned your broom, you are free to leave the lesson.
This thread will be closed at 11pm EST tomorrow (Thursday).

Hmmm... I go to sleep and THIS happens. :P... anyone?
Thomas watched as Charlotte and Barnabus were reunited at long last. It was nice to see them back together and... what the hell was that blue mist? AHHHHH! Thomas began to swat at the mist until it completely engulfed him.

Lexi fell to her knees and pressed her forehead to the grass of the pitch. Groaning quietly she looked up to see... Madame Donovan slapping Professor V. What the hell was going on.
"M-m-m-madame Donovan!" she cried out, but was certain that her head of house would be paying her no mind seeing as Mister Stryker had just punched Vindi, too. What the...
Lexi simply lay her forehead back on the grass and wrapped her arms around herself. "WHERE'S SALANDER ANYONE WHO CAN HEAR ME?" she shouted with a weak voice.

It wasn't as if Josephina had intentionally arrived down at the Quidditch Pitch. But from her office, the sight of fire had peaked her interest enough to come down onto the grounds and check out the happenings.
Except by the time she arrived, the students (and professors) were mostly settled up it seemed? No fire at least. And no pirate lingo like she'd heard earlier in the term either. But there was one thing that did strike her fancy . . .

Spluttering a bit as she walked over to the small group, she reached into her back pocket, taking out the bottle that she was surprised to find the flask completely empty. Gulping as she tried to get a single drop out, the brunette started coughing, growing inches in size and glancing around at the other students. This wasn't going to end well.
In the small Brunettes place stood a taller Blonde woman, bright red lips and pale skin. She looked innocent enough but she was actually far from it. You could tell by her posture that she meant business. Chucking the useless flask that had once contained a vital potion on the floor, the Blonde gave up on trying again. By this time all had been revealed. Amelia scowled, producing her wand in front of her ready to do whatever it took. Fighting her way through the students towards the woman, ignoring the others who had been with them at the lake, and not taking any notice of anything else that was taking place around them. "Tell me where the treasure is" she whispered into Charlotte's ear in a threatening manner.
A very unfamiliar blond woman. The woman definitely was not a student; Josephina was aware of this much. Nor, would she imagine, was she expected here. Gripping her wand slightly out of reflex more than anything, the brunette strode over to where the woman had been standing. "Who are you and what are you doing here?"

Kurumi waited for a few moments with her handkerchief in her hand as a sort of peace offering to Sierra, she heard a very frazzled Lexi. Her and her Mama Lion hadn't exactly been on the best of terms from their last conversation, but something triggered that the person lying on the ground wasn't the crazy pirate version of Lexi, but the real one - probably had something to do with her calling for Salander.
Kurumi turned to Treyen. "I think Lexi needs me," she whispered offering him a slight smile. She handed him the handkerchief and then turned around.
Her broom still in her hands, Kurumi rushed over to Lexi's side. "L-Lexi, is that really you in there?" she asked as she knelt down and set her broom on the ground beside her. Kurumi braced herself for another smack across the face like had happen that one day on the 5th floor.

Lexi blinked a few times and slooooooowly sat up. Pressing both hands to her forehead she blinked some more. Tears were welling in her eyes as she nodded her head at Kurumi. "Yes it's me...what the heck is going on?" she asked in a quiet voice that broke several times.
She was confused, she felt ill, and worst of all she had a gut feeling that she had done some pretty despicable things lately. None of which was helping her situation at the moment. Shifting slightly she sat back on her bum and splayed her legs out in front of her. ..."What's happening?"

He flew throught students and at students. William flew upside down on his broom. He flew basically on his broom, sitting upside down on it.
William's broom " Pstteifer" has been burnt as well as drenched with water. He tried to put his broom together with electrical tape. The handle is broken snd the bottpm of the broom with the straw is burnt to a crisp. The broom " Pettifer started out good but it ended up being wobbly. When I hir the wall, then fell down, the broom was a goner at the end of class.
And where did Hadley come from?
O___o
Was there a party at the Pitch and he was completely unaware of that?
Or had everyone actually lost their minds? Either way, his eyes managed to find Lady Awesome, and he nodded to Kurumi as she went to help Lexi. Good, yeah, Sierra was also in need of help, as well as his broomstick, which was...were those little sparks coming out of what was left of the tail wigs?
Er, yeah, Treyen took the handkerchief in case Sierra was going to need it and turned to her as soon as Kurumi was with Lexi.

Oh THANK MERLIN Lexi had come back. Kurumi had to resist the urge to throw her arms around the lioness, but the sickly look on her friend's face warned her that that would only end badly and with her smelling not so nice.
"Well, Professor Vindictus was holding the Flying final...but it wasn't like him at all. People were casting spells on their brooms and attacking each other...you...you were talking crazy and it was like you weren't you..." Maybe NOW Lexi would believe Kurumi? "And...just now...well....Professor Vindictus and Madame Donovan were snogging, but then she slapped him...and the Groundskeeper punched him. You were wrapped up in a blue mist...."
Kurumi eyed Lexi's broom and pushed it closer to her own that was lying on the ground. Both looked like they had gone through the war, but Kurumi was no expert on brooms.

Lexi listened to Kurumi and realized... she had no recollection of LOTS of stuff that had been happening lately. It was like chunks of time were missing. Freaking A... not again. NOT AGAIN. Lexi's bottom lip started to wibble and she looked at her little cub and asked, "Did I --- Did I hurt anyone?"
She saw Kurumi moving the broom and she was certainly glad that that was a school broom and not her pretty pink one laying there.
Lexi leaned over once more and placed her palms flat on the ground and pushed herself up. She was a bit wobbly at first but she stood and looked around... brooms were smoking piles of waste... people looked frightened or confused and she COULD NOT FIND SALANDER. Wibbling harder now Lexi turned to Kurumi and said, "I---I have to go..." With that she rushed away headed toward the lake as fast as she could on her shaky legs.
..closer to the Professor, she saw the librarian. O__O And she was next to the Gryffindor boy. Louisa felt relieved and wanted to hurry over and tell her that some disease crept on those people, but she stopped herself when a Gryffindor girl (Nordic Witch) seemed to ask the Librarian something. "Something's wrong with them!" Louisa whispered to the older girl, throwing her arms up in the air, "We should get some help!" She looked carefully at Professor Vee. Definitely not him.
Sophie still hovered as close as she could to her HOH who didn't seem to be herself at all. The lioness prefect wondered if she had drunken a potion or something which caused her to think that she was named Charlotte. Sophie couldn't really make any more assumptions before a scared and upset youngest ravenclaw zoomed over to her. Sophie gave the younger claw a warm smile saying. "I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation. Just remain calm and try to focus on the game. Someone has already gone to fetch some professor's. All will be solved in due time." Or at least that was what the lioness prefect hoped.

Sophie was about to try to shift grip on her broom and to fly off to find a new target fro the shuntbumps game when a Slytherin girl flew over to her. She whispered a question wondering who the blond on the ground with her wand out was. Seeing that she had her wand out Sophie went into prefect mode. "Put away your wand. You don't need it. Leave the spells and actions to the professors which will rush out here any minute now." As she said so first the groundskeeper rushed out and then some minutes later the arithmancy teacher arrived on the scene.

He was like a human sprinkler system, giving everyone around a shower.

"I'll get ye fer that, ye right scallywag!" Scowl in place, Glick bounded toward the man...
...but then he suddenly stopped, almost as if some force of nature was keeping him from moving much further. His attention was drawn to the woman he thought to now be Charlotte. "Arrr!" he exclaimed, seeing her in the arms of the captain.
He started to cackle loudly at their kiss, but then his attention was pulled away and toward a strange mist that had encircled him. He felt himself being entangled in the mist, as if it had been the force of nature to stop him earlier. Maybe it had been... "Arrrrrrrrrrrrr!" he yelled, but his voice started to fade into the distant, and he felt himself being pulled far, far away...
...then Sierra hit the ground. Hard. So hard she started coughing as she lied there, trying to figure out what happened and how she'd ended up in the middle of what looked like a flying class. She tried to sit up, but she was feeling a little weak. She was content just to lie there and stare up at this sky as she waited for the feeling of weakness to pass.
She kind of wanted her father, too, but that part she wouldn't admit to a soul.
A pirate was one minute pouring agumenti water all over the students nearest him and in the next minute a small slytherin girl was crouching on the ground. She vaguely remembered meeting her at one time or another. Landing not far from the girl sitting on the ground Sophie called out as she passed "Hey are you all right?" to the girl. Seeing that Treyen was coming behind her to take care of the girl Sophie headed over to her HOH and captain.
Sophie drew a sigh of relief as Madam Donovan smacked Professor Vindictus for kissing her and asking what the hell he was doing. Now she acted like her HOH was supposed to act. Coming to a stop near her Sophie asked worriedly "Madam Donovan are you all right?"

Sophie heard a small plopp as Simon the Gryffindor captain sagged down on the grass just a few meters from her. Rushing over to him she kneeled beside him worriedly "Simon, Are you all right?" Had he been a pirate too?

Aiden pushes her wand back into her robes, obeying the prefect's instruction and seeing Professor Hadley has had her wand out to the unknown lady. Holding the somehow damaged broom in one hand, she pretends to scratch her nose while chuckling at the deputy headmaster, the librarian and the groundskeeper. Boy! It's possible there will be rumours flying around about the two heads of house soon.
Dragging the broomstick to the piles, Aiden dumps it onto the damaged pile. Some of the twig tails are burnt, but she managed to put out the fire before it burned the entire the broom. The Cleensweep was moving like an old car with broken engine and it keeps turning around leaving her upside down.
