Elektra looked over at Selina and she scoffed. "I'm not strangling it. I'm just..gripping ever so gently to it." she then leaned in towards Selina and lowered her voice a little bit. "Look I do not want to get off the ground alright? I'm freaking out over here!"

Broom still hovering above the ground, Kurumi was glad that Professor Vindictus ignore her whole broom flying off the handle situation. Maybe he felt sorry for her? She didn't really want to have a pity party for herself, but she was glad nonetheless.

At least she hadn't insulted her broom.

Swinging her left leg over it, the knot in her stomach tightened even more as she balanced herself on it. The broom was a little higher than she had hoped, so her feet were not planted on the ground - more like her toes. Closing her eyes, she imagined the broom lowering itself just a little and, to her own surprise, the broom did so.

So far so good...kind of...

Kurumi's cheeks flushed when the captains and Head Boy came over to join the lesson. She was already a nervous wreck as it was and she was rather hoping to not have the most experienced fliers there to observe and, as was mostly like the case for the Ravenclaw captain, critique her inability to fly.

The knot in her stomach loosened when she saw Simon smile her direction and she bowed her head in return.

Her eyes then flicked back to Professor Vindictus and she began dreading whatever his next set of instructions would be. More whacking pinatas? Or maybe they were going to play an elaborate for of tag?

The magic feeling of delicious delight fills the soul with the thought about flying; and a sense of attracting lift with expensive to heart own broom in Hogwarts. So nice to feel and see a number of experienced testers ... The mood opens to Anasta in the long term successful work on ourselves together with broom. There were filled by Anasta some sense and information from you with concentrated force of spirit.

Three was better than nothing, and knowing Finn, he'd probably join them once the action started. So Vindictus hoped.

"How would you like to help with the lesson? It will give you a chance to share your expertise in the air with the other students," he began, "Because this is a large group of inexperienced fliers. All I ask for is the basics - turning, hovering, stopping, and landing. Nothing fancy."

Pause.

"And you'll receive a nice helping of points, too. So are you in or out?"

Her expertise? She had only been playing quidditch for two years, but whatever he wanted to call it. She was an expert, hehe. "Sure professor," she said. "Yeah, that would be fun!" And she would get a lot of points. Woohoo. So...when do they start? Now? She decided to wait until he told them to start.

Kyle wasn't exactly inexperienced - that wasn't how she would describe herself, she'd held her own at the Flying Finals the year before. She kept standing there feet on the ground as she listened to what Professor Vindictus was saying.

Jacob would earn her house a nice helping of points - that would be good, nice even. She smiled, tipping her head onto her shoulder and itching her ear with nothing but her shoulder. She watched as one of the captains took the offer to help train all of them, what if they knew what they were doing? But she wasn't going to assume she knew anything.

Start afresh learn some new tricks, probably better ones.

Simon watched as the other two captains joined him, briefly wondering where the Slytherin captain was but turning his attention back to Professor Vindictus as he talked about what he was interested in them doing. So they were to help with the large class and the basics of flying...sounded simple enough.

"I'm in Professor," he remarked even though he probably didn't need to. Shoot he was already looking like he was ready to fly,, mounted on a broom like the rest of the class why not help out the younger students. The mention of house points for their efforts was meerly an added bonus.

Selina smiled outwardly to everyone who was looking at them. She then leaned over to Elektra and whispered harshly, "You did it all summer for Merlin's sake. Come on Elektra, cut it out!" Then she turned back to everyone and smiled at them.

"Excellent! I'm sure that Jacob will help once he finishes his chocolate bar and Finn will probably join in because he's the Head Boy," Vindictus replied. "Now let me get the class airborne and then you can work your magic with them."

Wink.

"Before we start flying, I want all of you to know that the Quidditch Captains and Head Boy will be helping you today, so don't hesitate to ask for help from these veterans of the skies." That sounded good. Really, really good.

"Now to take off, all you must do is push off from the ground with your feet. Point your broom handle in the direction you wish to go. The rest is simply pure nerves and . . . broom magic! Please refrain from showing off and watch where you're flying - it would be a shame if you flew into a tree or into the side of the castle."

"You may start flying!"

He brought his hands together and clapped twice because there was no need to scare the living daylights out of the students with his officiating whistle . . . yet.

Jacob listened to the mans offer... since the man hadn't taken his candy bar, Jacob devoured the last pieces. and after swallowing he looked back at the other two who'd taken it up. "Why not. I haven't got anything better to do." and it would look good. A nice recommendation from Vindictus, a former Professional, to a few Pro Teams.

Jacob waited to see what the man had in mind for them to help with.

Gulp.

Oh deary deary dear.. she had to erm.. make her feet leave the ground? Apparently so..
Ah well, if she was going to break something or fall to her death she may aswell do it now.

Taking a deep breath, Ella grasped the broom more firmly and geeently pushed off from the gorund.

OH BEEJEZUS!..

Oooh. Oh dear. She was hovering. Oh my life, she had closed her eyes. Not a good move..
Snappingher eyes open again, she grinned. MWAHAHA. She was doing it! Sticking her tounge out in concentration she beganto direct her broom and soon enough she began to zoom aorund a little. Not too fast.. not too high; even thought she had been zooming arounf=d from the age of 6 but never mind. Her fall had shook her. She wasn't as daring anymore.. well it might be building back up now!

Kyle smiled when Vindictus said they could start flying, oh how she loved the feeling of the wind in her hair. Right, her hair was short now so she didn't have to tie it up - well for today that is. She'd return it to normal soon enough.

Her two feet still firmly on the ground, she pushed off slowly at first she began to rise. Slowly, she pushed to the right watching where she was going all the while she waited hovering and looking round making sure no one was going to fly smack into her and the same about her.

She was kind of shocked he didn't use his whistle - Vindictus did seem to love his whistle.

Mmkay. One...two...three! Kana pushed off the ground with a deep breath. Whoa!

She was hovering a good ten feet off the ground. Good thing she wasn't in the least afraid of heights. She shot a nervous glance to the Ravenclaw captain, but after a moment of hovering, she smiled to herself and re-established her firm but gentle grip on the broom. She first flew in a single circle. Then she laughed to herself and flew in a wider circle, leaning into it like you did with a bicycle. She dared to fly a bit higher, about fifteen feet. All it took was a little tug of the broom handle, then she leaned up a bit when she wanted to stop.

Balance wasn't a problem. Being right-handed, she leaned mostly on her right hand, loosening slightly with her left. She then proceeded to fly in wide circles, smiling to herself. "This is awesome," she laughed, glad she came to the lesson.

Kurumi flashed a smile in Simon. She had been able to make it through Quidditch tryouts without falling off her broom knowing that Simon was keeping a brotherly eye on her. After all, he had been one of the people to encourage her to try out for the team and, after having done so, was beginning to understand Selina's fascination with flying. Beginning to being the key part of that thought.
SIMPLY? What part of flying was simple? She supposed that Professor Vindictus was one of those natural fliers, but Kurumi certainly wasn't. It had taken her two years to be able to take off properly without spiraling around or whacking into something hard - usual a wall or a tree. No need to worry about her showing off. She would be happy if she was able to just stay on her broom.

Muscles in her legs tightening, Kurumi flexed her muscles and was just about to take off when...he clapped? Wait...did that mean they could take off or was he demanding further attention from them?

Looking around sheepishly, Kurumi saw a few other students already had taken off.

Well, here goes nothing...time to soar like an eagle which made her suddenly wish she was sorted into Ravenclaw so that that would actually make sense. Soaring like a lion just sounded silly.

Leg muscles flexing once more, Kurumi launched herself off the ground.

For those who were already in the air, Vindictus shouted some words of encouragement. "Good job!"

Then he became silent and walked over to the Stands to check his security orbs that he had set prior to leaving the school for a few weeks.



OOC: To earn points for this lesson, you must have at least 7 RP posts of flying. Try to interact with others and have fun. No one is expected to be a perfect flier, but please don't injure your student character and require that Professor Vindictus tend to the injury/bring you to the Hospital Wing (leave these dramatics out of the lesson, please). If your character leaves the lesson without being dismissed, you will lose points. Other than that, happy RPG!

The thought that popped into Kyle's mind made her giggle a bit, she was actually flying with Simon in a way but not the way they had talked about originally...it was class which was fun. And was graded. And watched by her head of house.

Gulp.

She looked down at the ground below and moved slowly arching herself to the left, she looked over and watched as Kurumi launched herself off fo the ground.

It made her smile, still the Ravenclaw girl would try and make sure that she didn't fly into her and would probably tell her if someone was going to fly into her - she wanted to avoid another accident like the last one when she had spun into the stands. That didn't look like any fun at all.

Isobel saluted to the Professor, because she felt like it. Then she mounted her broom. Okay, so they should fly now? Alright. She flew up. Hehe, she was a veteran of the sky. She saw that a lot of people looked nervous, so she gave them encouraging smiled. Some of them were older than her. Yikes.

Oakey was focused for this class.

He love flying it was in his blood (even if he was a muggleborn).

despite the fact that this was a basic class he was taking it anyways. Now it was time to take to the skies as Vindictus ordered. Oakey launched into the air. He knew the professor didn't want any showing off but Oakey couldn't help but spiral upwards a bit more.

He came to a stop and hovered a bit. Maybe he could use a few pointers on his technique. Oakey knew that he wasn't the best when it came to Flying, he knew that Harvey had left out a few pointers so that Oakey could learn them on his own. This was the class he'd fill that gap with.

Simon waited as requested, letting the other students get up in the air first before the captains and head boy were to follow. He watched as first Kyle and then Kurumi took off the ground, smiling and giving a nod of encouragement at the younger girl. The academic was relative new and unsteady on the broom that was sure but her attempts at the try-outs had proven she was well on her way to becoming more confident in her movements if she just let herself relax and took the time to practice in instances like today's class.

When enough students had gotten up off the ground, Simon kicked off himself and hovered for a moment several feet of the ground and looking down at the stragglers. Satisfied he then pointed his broom handle off to one side as flew up a bit more to keep an eye on those in the air with his fellow captain already up as Vindictus walked off.

Kyle smiled, the feeling of the slight breeze on her face was beautiful, relaxing even, but she never let her mind wander too far off she was flying nd that could be dangerous. She wasn't going to fly into someone, something, or even let anyone get hurt. Nope, if she saw someone falling she could safely try and catch them - no wait, wasn't that what someone else more experienced was for.

She smiled back to Simon as she saw him smile encouragingly over towards her. This was a good class so far, flying and friends was always a nice combination. She realized with a chuckle as she pointed her handle to the left and flew off a bit under a student and arching up she climbed a small bit higher. She loved it the whole feeling of flying made her happy, she knew right then and there that she would never give it up - even if it was just for a hobby or for fun. She was never not going to fly.

The captains were there? How had she missed them coming? Jaymie must have been zoned out. She looked around and, sure enough, there was her sister. She grinned at her before focusing back on her broom. She mounted it and pushed up off the ground. She took a deep breath and willed herself not to look down. She flew up a little wobbly and hovered there. What was she supposed to do now? She couldn't go up any higher, it looked so scary!

Kyle pulled to the right pushing a little faster before pulling back much like you would with a horse and stopping, well she skidded to a stop. Smiling, she slowly began to fly again, watching slowly flew over to where the first year Jaymie was.

"Here, just try going slowly, I'm Kyle" she smiled waving to her softly. "If you want to follow me I'm about to fly slowly to the right" she pointed to a spot not so far off where she was heading to. She was trying to be nice. After all she knew most of the basics but she wanted to get a hang of it get used to it, be better.

Slowly she turned from where Jaymie was and pushing the neck of the broom softly to the right she arched towards the location she had pointed out.

Jacob watched as the students started to take off. some seemed... unstable. To say the least. He decided to give them a few seconds to get up, before he launched... and it would be better to find an empty space to get up, so he didn't crash into anyone.

Seeing that several students were now in the air, Jacob felt like it was time. He mounted the school broom. Not as well taken care of a broom as his own, but he couldn't expect Vindictus to take the most delicate care of each broom when he had 50 plus brooms to care for.

With a quick, lazy push off the ground, Jacob launched off like a gun shot. within less than a second, Jacob was several feet above the rest of the students, watching them like a hawk. He lowered himself only slightly so he could get to them easier, but Jacob didn't want to get in their way. Only if he had to stop them if someone lost control of their broom.

Okay...woah...Okay...just breath...this really isn't THAT big a deal....

Kurumi was now a decent 15 feet or so above the ground, which was a big deal for her to do so willingly. Sure, she had done so the other day, but her mind had been focusing on hitting the bludger and not the ground below her....

Bad idea to have looked down.

Swallowing a bit, Kurumi guided her broom a bit high into the sky. Looking around, she hoped to see Selina somewhere, but, when she didn't, a small frown appeared on her lips. Looking to her left, she saw Simon sitting confidently on his broom as he watched the other students fly around.

Leaning forward, Kurumi flew over towards the Gryffindor captain with relative speed and even managed a confident stop next to him. Smiling with just a hint of nervousness, Kurumi waved at him.

"H-H-Hey Simon," she chirped. "D-Do you have any pointers?"

Not that, you know, her perfectly straight posture needed to be any pointier or anything.

After successfully commanding the broom, Eino mounted it and was instantly reminded of how uncomfortable flying was. He grasped the broom firmly with both of his hands just as he was about to jump off the ground the professor warned them not to, so Eino faked that he was stretching his legs, which turned out to be very helpful. While he waited for further instructions he tried to become more comfortable on the broom. He adjusted his sitting position, still maintaining a tight grip, and keeping his feet on the ground. When the professor finally gave them permission to launch he decided to walk around mounted on his broom for a while, practicing... walking? He pretended the broom was a horse and it was still growing accustomed to its new wings, that Eino had given it, so it could fly. The horse's name was Concorde. He was a beautiful light brown horse with dark brown hair, a very long tail, and long wings. "Let's go Concorde" Eino shouted as he galloped around the field making the sound of a horse running with his tongue.
