Aurora's eyes widened, she knew people enjoyed flying but how can no-one else be freaked out by it? You're being supported by a STICK! In mid air! She shook her head and decided that, if everyone else could do it, she would have to try. She urged her broom a foot or so higher. There we go, that's quite high enough thankyouverymuch. She had to grit her teeth and make a conscious effort not to close her eyes. She didn't want to be crashing into anyone. She looked at all the others, many of them flying fast and doing leaps and whirls and suddenly felt foolish and a little unsafe. She did one more round of the pitch and slowly touched down, breathing a sigh of relief when he feet touched the floor.

Selina laughed along with Kurumi who had commented about the flying technique. She had always seemed to forget that Kurumi did not know that much about Quidditch because in every other class the girl knew every answer and answered every question. If Kurumi wanted to know something there was nothing she couldn't learn in the library. But with Quidditch it was different and Selina was the more practiced Veteran.

"The Woollongong Shimmy is a flying move used primarily by Chasers, but it can be used by anyone. It's a technique of zig-zag movements... except you are flying kind of fast. Of course when you first learn you just move slowly to learn the pattern. Once you feel comfortable you can speed up and go faster and faster." With that Selina took off like a bullet and sped through the air as fast as she could. She moved through and among all of the Captains and flyers in a complicated and intricate form of zigs and zags. She took one long loop around the pitch and then flew up beside Kurumi.

"Like that."

Professor Vindictus stood there watching the lesson intently. But something didn't seem right. He took off his sunglasses and rubbed his eyes, then put them back on.

Another close look at the sky.

Nope. Something definitely wasn't right.

He scratched his head and began pacing back and forth.

"Same here," she grinned to Simon. It was much better knowing his name now instead of calling him Gryffindor guy, hehe.

She listened to him intently and nodded, letting him know that she had understood what he said. VERY slowly, she leaned forward just like Simon had told her to. The broom began to slowly go forward. She felt that if she leaned on it too much she might end up flying OFF the broom and SPLAT into the ground. She looked to her side briefly and gave the older guy a nervous smile. "Like this?" Oh boy, was she going SLOW. "I feel like my gradma," she giggled. Due to her age, Grandma Baltazar walked as slow as a turtle.

Well, that was a bit harder. She didn't know exactly what she was supposed to help him with, but sure, she could help him. "Okay. Like, flying in general?" She'd start off there. "Be gentle. Just nudge your broom, you'll go very smoothly." She was bored hovering there. Isobel spiraled upward then swooped back down. That felt better.

Isobel glanced down and saw the professor looking confused. It wasn't really her problem, but she was curious. She flew down and hovered a few feet above the ground near where he was standing. "Is there something wrong professor?"

The Wallinggog...no...Willingnilly...

Kurumi had once again managed to miss the name of the move she was about to teach her. She really ought to have brought some parchment up in the air with her for note taking and diagram drawing. Alas, she would have to try and remember that for next time. After all, she HAD just taken her hands off her broom and NOT fallen off! That was immense progress. Perhaps she could even try doing so with a Beater's bat in the future. The far distant future, but the future nonetheless.

Still trying to figure out what Selina had just said, Kurumi feel slightly foreward on her broom when Selina took off like a crup after a kneazle and flew through the various students up in the air zigging and zagging so fast that if Kurumi dared blink she would probably miss something important.

Eyes watering from the intense focus in her violet eyes, Kurumi used the sleeve of her robe to wip them as Selina came back to a resting position right next to her. "Well, I am not sure how ready I am to go zigging and zagging right into the thick of things, but I can try in a clear area of the sky..." Like...right around the goal posts. Hey! That didn't seem like such a bad idea. Goal posts were stationary and wouldn't jump out and attack her! Right?

Leaning forward on her broom, Kurumi took off towards the goal posts going at a decent speed. When she got close, Kurumi began making modest zig zags until she was close enough to go some simple figure eights around the posts. After doing about three figures eights, Kurumi zig zagged her way back over to Selina with a meek smile on her face.

"L-L-Like that?" She could try weaving through people later.
While she waiting for a Selina critique, Kurumi looked down at Professor Vindictus who was pacing on the field.

THAT was never a good sign.

Kurumi looked up at the sky hoping to see whatever it was that had caused the man to scratch his head and was suddenly reminded of the story about a chick who thought the sky was falling.

OH MERLIN HELP HER!

Was the sky going to fall?! Start raining Every Flavor Beans?! Kurumi wasn't sure she could handle more excitement at the moment. Being able to zig zag on purpose had been a highlight for her.

Eino was flying swiftly, like a beautiful dove that just been shot by a hunter's arrow and fluttering in the air like a helpless feather ball. He really had zero grace and elegance when it came to anything flying. Any time he began to grow some confidence by flying at a stable rate his broom would suddenly halt and hover idly. He tried to steer it and command it but the silly broom would remain immobile for a while, then it would move again, like it had it's own mind and it was stubborn! Eino tried to pet it and encourage with some words but that didn't help, so he tried to be more aggressive and that made things worse. After much toil, Eino had finally been able to control it a little better and fly a little smoother. He was also getting the hang of lowering himself slowly, but he didn't want to stop flying just yet.

"Wrong? Of course nothing's wrong!" snapped Vindictus. "Isn't a man allowed to think!"

Then he stopped his pacing and stared at Isobel.

"Get off that broom!"

Pause.

"All of you - get off those brooms NOW!"

Yes, the man did have a loud set of lungs.

Oakey stopped his flying and brought himself to the ground as Professor Vindictus had ordered. He stepped off his broom and held it in his hand starring at the man confused as to why the professor ordered so ferociously for them all to get off their brooms.

Darn Oakey really wanted to keep flying he was going to figure out what it was the Harvey had left out, but it seems that will have to wait for another day.

Isobel was very confused. Why did they have to get off the brooms, exactly? She decided it was best not to argue with the professor, especially now when he seemed angry. Isobel obediently landed and got off the brom. Ooookay?

Simon watched as she started moving, the seventh year following through with his own movements and flying alongside the younger girl. "Uh huh thats good," he said giving her a smile. The captain was about to say something more when Vindictus voice rang up into the air.

Get off those brooms now?!

Not exactly something to hear when in midair since you couldn't exactly just jump off your broom without risking death. "Come on, Peyton...I think somethings up and we need to get down," Simon instructed, glancing back at her to see if she understood before putting himself into a shallow dive and zooming down near the ground.

"What's wrong Professor?" he asked concerned, jumping off and landing with his feet squarely on the ground once he was only a few feet off the field. His broom now in his left hand.

Peyton was startled by the yelling professor, but managed to keep her hold on the broom. If it wasn't for Simon's voice she would have freaked out and...GULP. She nodded and followed him. "Simon..." she said, her voice cracking with worry. She wanted to ask what was wrong, but he was already speaking to the professor.

She landed and dropped the broom on the ground like if had some weird germs on it. Was it the brooms?

Eeeeep!

Eino flinched when he heard Professor Vindictus shouting. At first he thought someone was showing off and was gonna be in big trouble, but then he realized he was ordering all of them of get down. There was no way Eino could made a quick descent and he was very nervous because he had not a single idea what was going on. He tried to descent as fast as he could, which still wasn't very fast, but finally he reached the ground, jumped off his broom and caught it. He looked around for any signs of what could be happening but he wasn't too worried about finding out what it was he just wanted to be safe from it. It would have thought it was just the end of class and Professor Vindictus was eager to go sleepy or eat, but he look especially worried, and was shouting very loudly. Eino found his way to a group of students too busy to even realize he had made a decent landing.

"DON'T QUESTION MY AUTHORITY!" Vindictus bellowed. "It's those brooms!"

He hustled over to the broom rack. "Quick! Put the cursed brooms here!"

The brooms were cursed? Isobel guessed that would be a perfectly valid reason to make them stop flying. But she was wondering how he knew that. Isobel shrugged. She had an urge to throw the broom, but that would probably make him mad. She went over to the rack and put the broom away. Now what?

Maybelle shook her head, she must've zoned out...the air in her face was calming. Everyone was putting brooms away, and the teacher was shouting. Cursed? She thought. Well either way, you need to listen to the Professor, so she lightly landed on the ground, dismounted from her broom and put it back onto the broom rack.

Cursed broom?! That would explain why Eino's broom was so stubborn... maybe? At least he would like to think that it was something other than his horrible flying skills. He walked towards the spot the professor ordered them to place the broom and he put his down next to the others. It was a little hard letting go of Concorde but Eino didn't want a cursed broom, and above all he didn't want to oppose the wrath of Professor Vindictus. Hopefully class wasn't over, Eino was just getting the hang of it and would like to practice a bit more.

Cursed brooms?!?!? They didn't seemed cursed. it didn't feel weird flying them. Well maybe, Oakey did feel a little off with the one he was riding but he just assumed it was him, not the broom.

Nevertheless Oakey ran over to the broom rack and placed it back onto it.

and Vindictus was becoming scarier by the second.

"They must be destroyed," Vindictus said. "By fire."

Ooh fire! Did they get to do it? Isobel wanted to set them on fire! But wait-why? How exactly were they cursed. She wanted to ask sooo badly, but she didn't want to make him mad. And she wanted to set them on fire.

Maybelle then grinned evily. Fire! She thought for a moment. "Shall we use Incendio?" She asked, pulling out her wand and preparing herself for the spell. She REALLY wanted to set something on fire...

OHMYMERLIN!

She had been correct. It had something to do with the brooms. Peyton eyed the broom she had been using and furrowed her eyebrows. She did NOT want to touch if there was something wrong with it. She saw other students and since the hadn't blown up, the she thought it was okay to touch the broom one last time. Peyton closed her eyes when she picked up the broom, opening her eyes she quickly DASHED to the broomshed.

RUUUUUUUN!

Placing the broom back where it belonged she went back to where she was standing with Simon. She was still worried what if it blew up or worse...what if it cursed them all and their hair was going to fall off in a month and they'll be bald, FOREVER.

The eleven year old fidgetted with her hands and waited for further instructions. She wanted her daddy. Then...

Fire?! 0_o

She knew a spell for that, having used it in Potions class. Peyton took her wand out, but kept it to her side. Was the professor going to do it on his own? He very well could, but P wanted to help since THAT broom could have harmed her. Hmpf.

"Rest in peace, Concorde." Eino said waving at the broom that was about to be burned to ashes. He wasn't that sad, and was mostly excited to see a bunch of brooms to go up in flames. Not that he had anything against brooms but there hadn't been much excitement around lately. "Can we help?" Eino asked the Professor, but soon regretting it knowing his answer would be no. "To, uh, practice... Or spell casting..." Well, it's not like they were learning anything in DADA so he could use that excuse. He smiled nervously, then ran and hid himself behind a taller student.

Vindictus spun around so that he was facing Maybelle. "What? Are you crazy? Why would you want to use that spell on a helpless broom?"

Maybelle looked and saw...

ANOTHER SLYTHERIN!!

Walking up to the girl who looked a lot like Maybelle, she said. "Hello person who looks freakishly like me, I am going to hug you.." She said and hugged her before any reaction was made. "NATIONAL HUG A SLYTHERIN DAY!!" She said running back to Isobel's side. "That's four now." She whispered.

Maybelle looked at Vindictus... "Well...um...that's the only spell I can think of that has fire usage...and I want to blow something up.." She said, shrinking slightly.
