She had to hand it to herself, she was epically smart. This summoning the flowers idea, it was genius! Yet she couldn't help but notice how much pink there was in the classroom. It was like Valentines Day in here.

Hearing a loud huff come from where the weirdo Slytherin was sitting, Evelyn turned her attention back to her, noticing she was pulling out her own wand. What was she gunna do? Summon her own flowers? The idea had Evelyn smirking, except in her mind when Destiny summoned the flowers, it hit her in the face and knocked some sense into her. Now if only she had that kind of mind power to make it happen-

Whaaaaa? o______O

That wasn't fair. CHEATER! "You can't do that!" she hissed, raising her wand and summoning the flowers back. Pffft. "I summoned them first. YOU have to come over HERE."

Mwaha!

Destiny was a genius, that Treyen boy was right. If only he could see her now. She had no idea if he was actually in the class or not, the flowers were seriously messing with her vision, and she was a little too busy grinning rather smugly over in Evelyn's direction to take a look around. Oh well. If he was there, she hoped he saw how much of a genius she was.

Using nonverbals and all.

Taking a few quick sniffs at the bouquet, more to bother Evelyn than anything else, Destiny was just about to turn around and get started on the assignment when that EX-best friend of hers had to go and do THAT! She was so annoying! "I can so do it, because I just did!" Obviously. And just to prove that she COULD do it, Destiny raised her wand and summoned them back once again.

"First is the worst, second is the best. Get over HERE!"

Holding the flowers close, Evelyn had a rather victorious smirk on her face as she stared at her EX-best friend. That's right. She just summoned them back. What was she gunna do about that?!

Apparently...summon them right back.

Having tried to grab the flowers back out of the air and failing in the process, Evelyn scoffed and sat back in her seat, not wanting to move any closer to Destiny and her ugly and less than perfect table. This table, the one she was sitting at, was the most perfect table in the room. It was near the window. She had a nice view AND freezing fresh air.

Was that that one muggle saying? "Yea, and third is the one that loses the treasure chest!" As she finished with her words, she summoned the bouquet right back, ignoring the few orange petals falling off. And when she meant treasure chest, she meant the flowers. Destiny WAS the one that summoned them the third time, and now...she lost it.

HA!

Victory was indeed sweet for one Destiny Shepard.

The smug grin that was on her face before Evelyn so rudely summoned the bouquet from her was back and it was bigger than ever. Destiny might have even let a few evil cackles escape her mouth, and whatever not so good mood she was in before, had completely vanished. Who would have thought that annoying the Bertie Bott's out of Evelyn could make one person so happy and so awake!?

It is true. You DO learn things in Divination.

She had a rather strong grip on the bouquet this time, completely expecting Evelyn to CHEAT once again, so when she did, the whole desk seemed to move a bit closer. Sure, it wasn't by much, but as the flowers managed to leave her hands, Destiny came up with a BRILLIANT idea. So brilliant that she was able to ignore the talk about a treasure chest. So brilliant that, if she was friends with Evelyn, she would have been proud.

Narrowing her eyes a bit, Destiny pointed her wand at Evelyn's desk. "You don't want to come to me? Fine. I'll MAKE you come to me."

With that, she silently summoned Evelyn's desk. Or tried to. She had her eyes closed.

She could see the light at the end of the tunnel! Victory shall be hers!

Evelyn was going to make sure she kept the flowers this time too. Turning in her seat slightly, she kept a firm grasp on them, hiding them from Destiny's view. Sure, she could still summon them, but hopefully this would somehow make Destiny think she couldn't summon them.

Although, it seemed it didn't fool her EX-best friend. Staring at the wand, Evelyn held up her own to somehow counter the spell, but Destiny's words puzzled her for a moment. What was she talking about? She'd just like to see her TRY and get Evelyn to move to her desk- OOMPH!

The sudden movement of her desk running into her had her chair toppling over to the side, her included. It was tough luck for the flowers though since she landed on half of them, yet Evelyn had her eyes squeezed shut when she heard her table scratching on the floor as it flew over her and towards Destiny, so she didn't really notice. That was it. The SNAKE...was going DOWN!

Standing up, a GIANT SCOWL on her face, she roughly patted any flower petals or pieces off of her school jumper and skirt before grabbing her chair and dragging it towards Destiny and HER table. Setting it down near HER table, she flopped down in her seat, almost slamming the flowers on Destiny's table. They were a little worse for wear by now. Some of them weren't even recognizable as a flower anymore.

Evelyn didn't speak though. She just sat there, fuming, and staring at HER. Happy now? Was she HAPPY now?!?!

Samira nodded in agreement. "Yup."

If Destiny could read minds, she would have been HORRIFIED! Sure, she may not be friends with Evelyn right now, but she couldn't and wouldn't allow her EX-best friend to reach the light at the end of the tunnel. Everyone knows that that light is actually a train.

She saw it on the muggle box.

But alas, she could not read minds. Oh well.

Peeking an eye open, Destiny couldn't help but laugh at the sight before her. There was Evelyn's desk, making it's way towards her, and if that wasn't funny enough, the sight of Evelyn falling to the floor was. Something that wasn't funny, though, was, when the desk reached her, it was moving awfully fast and..Destiny was then pressed up against the wall. Luckily, she could still breathe, and with that breath, she managed to push the desk from off her..like nothing just happened.

And just in time, because Evelyn was making her way closer. BWAHA! She had lost. Shifting herself in her seat, Destiny picked up the flowers when they were placed on her desk. "This is all your fault, you know." Meaning the dead flowers.

Kurumi couldn’t help but notice a slight flinch in Selina’s posture that at first sent the third year lion into a state of panic. MERLIN! Was Selina having another vision? Should Kurumi try to get her out of the room before she was completely overtaken by the dreamlike state she would soon find herself in?! Kurumi was just about to jump to her feet when Selina spoke again, and Kurumi instead did an awkward little dance in her chair. It most likely looked like she was trying to swat away a bug. At least, that was the story she would come up with if asked.

“I’ll add that last bit in,” Kurumi nodded in agreement before returning to her parchment. “I’d better return this bouquet so that others can use it if they want to.”

Kurumi then left Selina, for just a moment, to return to the front where the remaining bouquets were still sitting on the table. The parchment in her other hand, Kurumi turned her gaze towards Professor Bishop. “Professor, should I turn this into you now? It’s Selina and mine’s work.”

Salander tentatively reached out for a bouquet, unsure if anyone wanted or needed a partner. Besides, as much as he enjoyed the sight of this lovely Professor, he could feel that his nose wanted to get away from all these flowers stat.

He open the textbook and flipped through the pages, eyeing that orangey-pinky bouquet in front of him. Ok the roses were easy to identify-- he knew that much. He looked through the photos in the book for those that matched the blossoms in front of him. After a while they all seemingly started to blend in, confusing him yet again. Eh... this was a lot harder than going through a baseball card collection.

These flowers made him dizzy somehow, the mixture of their scent was far from being pleasant; it almost made him vomit. Raising his head with a little difficulty and discontent, he looked around for someone he knew. He was in no mood to put with all that meeting procedures, and he didn't want to break someone's heart by being rude. He eyed Josh for a moment, but couldn't make the effort to go there. Yeah, he was feeling sick, and to put up with the whole class, he'd better not move.

Joooosh, I'm right right here! Pick me, pick ME to work with! he eyed the boy... hopefully, he had a sense for those watchers, and turn to him. If not, he just had to work on his own... maybe he could accio a bouquet, if in ten minutes no one approached him.

Pffft.

Evelyn still didn't speak when Destiny mentioned the dead looking flowers was apparently her fault, considering the fact that if she did...she would lose points and obtain a possible detention. She didn't want that right now. Trying to get by the year without a detention was one of her goals this time. It was just the losing points part that was hard.

But finally though, she composed herself just a bit to speak properly, in an indoor voice like a civilized human being! GOSH DARNIT! She was civilized!! "How can it be my fault when you're the one who caused me to do that in the first place?" Hmmm!?

She'd like to know how Destiny answered THAT! Meanwhile though, she summoned her school bag over to her so she could write this stuff down, because regardless of who she was partnered with, she was going to get participation points.

Sierra sat in her desk, her elbow propped up on the top of it, and her face resting lazily in the palm of her hand. She stared at the flower bouquet sitting before her. She was no flower expert, and so she still had yet to identify anything from the arrangement before her. She narrowed her eyes at it, hoping that if she did so long enough the answers would magically come to her.

Finally, she sighed and picked up her quill. She was sure she remembered at least three of the flowers from her neighbor's garden. Or, at least the neighbor she'd lived next to when she lived with both her parents in the heart of London. She didn't have the slightest idea what her neighbor's in Hogsmeade had in their yard. She'd never bothered to look. She jotted down what she hoped were the answers and then flipped through her textbook to get the meanings.



She sighed again and then looked over her work, knowing it was probably wrong but hoping it'd count for something anyway. She definitely didn't feel like redoing it.

Simon looked at Eino. "Well I would say they were Succulent lupine." Simon smiled, he had this feeling maybe they were he didn't know why but he had seen them around the castle where he lived and was sure they were called that, maybe he should have paid attention to his tutor when she was teaching him about plants but he just hated the idea of having to give flowers to people and so he wasn't bothered about flowers. "I think there meaning is to succeed in life." Simon wasn't even looking at the book.

Somewhat of a guess? Somewhat? It was ALL guesswork!! Heheheheh. Well...he had never read or heard any information about moonflower meaninf before so it was pretty natural that if he tried to guess the meaning. ''Yes, professor, i...well...yes...guessed.'' That was way better than cheating, right? It was no cheating and apparently Bishop thought the same way so Josh managed to get the other half of the point as well. Haha. ''Thanks professor'' Hmmm...now to get to work with flowers...



Since Bishop had mentioned that they could work with other people, Josh, as usual, of course would prefer working with people instead of on his own for the fun of it. Yes, he knew he did awesome work on his own too but working with others was much more interesting and fun than being alone. Being alone....meh. That was sad. Eh...then...yup, he was going to work with a partner.

So, grabbing the closest bouquet to himself, the lion boy rose from his seat to look for Evelyn. Hah! She was there but...wait! She seemed to be busy with Destiny. Hahahahahha. And they looked funny. While listening to their whispered convo, the boy kept eyeing the class for a partner and it did not take much of his time to spot a snake prefect there. Evan Cartwright. Haha. Let's see how the prefect was feeling about flowers. Especially about those pink ones....

Hehehhe...

Walking there, the Gryffindor glanced towards the way the she-snakes had been arguing and simply smirked when he saw Destiny had won the argument. Hmmm...the craziness won over his beloved? Interesting. ''Well...well...well.'' he said pausing near the girls as he passed by ''So the Morning Glory and the Moonflower are working together? Great. Just don't maim each other. I have my eyes on you.'' They were both dangerous she-snakes, weren't they?

Finally approching Evan, he directly sat on the desk next to him and dropped the bouquet right in front of the prefect. ''Let's get to work with your amazing knowledge of flowers Cartwright the Romantic.''

Evan smiled to himself as Josh seemed to have noticed him. There, it was much better to work with someone he knew, albeit they had just got on friendly terms, and someone he trusted in his abilities. He tried to get himself up as Josh approached, telling something to the sne-snakes on the way. Evan couldn't focus well with all the flowery smell around him, and thus he was a little startled when the bouquet was set in front of him like that.

"Huh? I am the romantic?" he laughed weakly. "Right, Josh the hero." Okay, now they got the... greetings out of the way, they could focus on identifying the flowers. "I want to be done with this as soon as possible, if you don't mind..." Then, hopefully, he could lie on the desk and try not to smell the mixed scents. "Um... They're daisies, roses and lilies?" Not like he was a flower expert, but this one was easy.

Eino took another couple of minutes to examine the flowers but they were so difficult to identify, other than the roses and lilies. Well, at least he had two of them he knew, but he still wanted to identify the others. After scribbling down some notes, then scratching some things out, then writing some more, he showed his notes to Simon. "I am not sure how or if the succulent lupine's blossom, from what I recall they always look like buds." The one in front of them didn't look like buds so Eino was incline to believe they were larkspur, nonetheless, he wrote both down for now. "The big purple ones could be either peonies or carnations." He had never seen a purple carnation before, never even knew they existed. Why did flowers all have to look so similar?!?!



"What do you think?"

Simon looked at Eino and passed him his notes, he wasn't sure but he just thought they looked like petunias but he had no idea what Eino thought but well maybe he would get 1 right.

Eino looked over at Simon's parchment and shrugged. "We should get at least roses and lilies right." He said confidently. The others were too uncommon and Eino had never really spent time reading books on flowers or doing field study on flowers. He had also never read about floromancy before, so that didn't help.

"Do you think that the bouquet as a whole could also be interpreted?" Well, if they had correctly identified the flowers, then maybe all of them together could have one meaning. He shook his head. "Never mind..." He didn't know what to make of it.

Simon looked at Eino and smiled. "Well the whole Bouquet could mean something like a bunch of flowers: any girls will fall in love with you." Simon had no idea but he thought he would at least give it a try. "What do you think?"

Nika smiled as she took out her book and some parchment. "Alright so it says here..." Flipping through the pages in the book wasn't really working out so she went straight to the index and looked up "floriography". "That..." She skimmed through the paragraphs and tried to find the word that she was looking for. "Dark pink roses mean gratitude?" She looked at Samira then to the bouquet then back at her parchment. She scribbled something down and then looked at the flowers again.

"Lilies mean..." She trailed off as she searched the page again. "Purity of heart..." Then she looked at the other flowers. What exactly were they!? "The purple one looks like erm... Lupine?" She raised an eyebrow as she looked through the paragraph. "It means... erm joy and to succeed?" Then she moved her eyes to the big purple flowers. "I have no idea what those are but they could be purple roses? Those mean love at first sight..." She wasn't really sure about any of her answers so she looked to Samira hoping she would have some input other than another "yup".

Stare.

How could Evelyn blame it all on HER!? If she would have just walked over to her like a CIVILIZED human being in the first place, none of this would have happened. The desk wouldn't have, most likely, left scratches along the floor, and the flowers would have still been alive. But Destiny was not going to mention any of this to her. She didn't even want to talk to her.

Except..

"Why don't we just interpret these flowers, huh? Even though, now that YOU killed them, I have no idea what type of flowers they are."

And when she said 'we' interpret the flowers, she really meant Evelyn interpret them, and she would just copy off of her.

As she was bending into her bag to get more parchment, because the one was on her desk had been CONTAMINATED with the dead flowers, Destiny cringed at the voice of Josh. Hadn't he bother her enough!? Gah!

She wondered if he told Evelyn what he had done to her..

Sitting up in her seat, she glared at the boy for a moment before turning to her text when he mentioned those flowers. Pfft, who was he calling a Moonflower? He had totally ruined her happy mood. "You don't have to be such a lettuce."

The only person who was getting maimed would be Josh. And she would poke his eyes out if he watched her.

Finally....FINALLY!

Finally, Destiny was actually making sense and acting normal. Ignoring the part about her killing the flowers, the Slytherin girl pulled out her Divination book and pushed it towards her EX-best friend. Yes, Destiny could use her book. You know, just in case she didn't understand her own textbook, there was an extra. If she ruined it, she was buying her a new one asap. "Fine then. I'll tell you the flowers, you look up the meanings."

TEAMWORK! Unwilling...teamwork.

Yet, before she could even start on trying to figure out what the dead flowers were, someone moving near them caught her attention.

Teehee. Josh!

Morning Glory and Moonflower? She was the moonflower right? Those were so much prettier than the morning glory flowers. She may have slightly not heard what he said and just stared at him...*hmmm stare*... yet she couldn't ignore what Destiny said. Pfft. Him? A lettuce? He was way more like an edelweiss. "Why don't you look up what you're saying before you even speak." she muttered, scowling at Destiny. "And look up balsamine while you're at it, too."

'Cause that described what Evelyn was at the moment. Anyways, back to Josh. Or not, since he was over by Evan. Hmmm, she was going to have her eyes on him too. However, for only a moment, she had to turn her attention to the dead flowers. That one there...that one was obvious. Sorta. If she was wrong, she WILL be blaming it on Destiny. "I think some of these were roses." Before she squished them because of HER. "Look up what orange ones mean."

Did Evelyn not notice that she had her OWN book already out? There was no need to have both hers and Evelyn's, it wasn't like she would understand Divination any better. Although, she would have liked to draw a few pictures on the pages. She had run out of pages in her own book..

But no, she would not do that. Josh had put her in too much of a bad mood to want to draw. Letting out a breath, Destiny placed Evelyn's book under her own, and only semi-listening to what her EX-best friend said, she nodded. It was probably better that Evelyn did tell her the flowers. She was sure Professor Bishop wouldn't want a whole paper interpreting dead flowers. Because that's what they had.

Pffft!

"I know exactly what lettuce means." Josh was cold-hearted, and she didn't even need a book to know that. "And unless balsamine is one of the flowers in that bouquet, I am not looking it up." Evelyn was just trying to work her even harder. It wasn't Destiny's fault she had a lettuce boyfriend who was in dire need of a wax myrtle. Whatever, back to the assignment.

Glancing at the flowers for a moment, wondering how Evelyn had the idea that any of them could have been a rose at one time, Destiny turned back to her textbook, and with her finger running down the page, she stopped at orange rose. "Desire or passion." Sweet Merlin, were all the flowers she picked going to mean that? "Did you pick that flower because he walked by?"

He being the lettuce.

Gwen decided she wanted to work alone. Now, let’s see…which bouquet shall I chose? The first one? Nah…I can’t even tell one flower from that. Better be…the second one? Those are roses, the girl decided. One flower I can recognize. The one that everyone knows. And those are… Forget-me-not? Slim chances.

Well, I should start with the only one I know, the young ravvie decided. This rose is pink…or…dark pink? burgundy roses? Hmm…fine- those are dark pink roses!, she finally made up her mind. Pink means Grace, and dark pink stands for Gratitude. The girl wrote down what she got so far and tried to go on.

What’s that thing?, she kept asking herself, and suddenly she remembered. Lily! But what kind of a lily? White + pink…, the girl wanted to write down, but didn’t. Maybe they have something in their name…added…not just the color. Would there be any chance it’s a Stargazer Lily? I hope so, I don’t have a better answer. If it is so, then it means prosperity, beauty, elegance, sweetness, wealth. And, because it is a lily, it has to mean purity too.

Moving on…what’s that bluish-purplish thing (plant) that looks like a rose? Would it be a Lisianthus? A purple Lisianthus? That means appreciation, but something with nature as well.

Is that other purple thing there the same? Probably not…but I have no idea what that could be. Do I have anything left?, the girl asked herself, looking at the bouquet.Are those green things part of the plants? Hmmm…


Gwen's parchment:

What? Evan did not the like adjective romantic? Eh...if that was the case, he was just lucky that Mina was not around. ''Yea, i suppose you are since i haven't talked to the chair under you. Or did i?'' Maybe the chair was called Cartwright as well, how could he know that? It did not speak so it did not deny it either.

Eh...apparently Evan did not want to waste time with chatting with him or the Cartwright chair...well...that was fine with Josh. Business was business and it needed to be done. ''All right.'' So he said picking up one of large orange ones and eyeing it close. ''Hmmm...that might be...'' But then he turned back to face the blond Slytherin boy when he spilled out the species for all the flowers they seemed to have. Did he really know them for sure or was he simply guessing just like the Gryffindor previously had done with the moonflower?

Looking at the bouquet and picking up one from the each species, he began examining them again. ''I think...yea...i do agree with the lily and the rose but daisy...'' dropping the huge orange flower and the pink rose, he held the other pink one close. Eh...pink...not his favourite at all. But whatever.

Not to mention he couldn't think of another flower species to call this one so ''...okay. Let's go with the daisy. Guess Professor Bishop will tell us if we are wrong anyway. Now...'' he eyed the parchment, quill and books on his desk. ''Do you want me to write down the meanings since you did the hard part?'' Of course, right after finding them. He was not going to make up any meanings for any flower.

Huh?

And just what rubbish Destiny was saying to him? Narrowing his dark brown eyes a bit, Josh gazed at the crazy she-snake who obviously did not look to be happy with his presence around her desk. Heh. As if he was the one who carried germs of craziness...it was totally HER!

Whaaa? Had she just called him a LETTUCE?!! Pffffft! Destiny! Just pfffft. ''What kind of a meanie are you?'' he asked, now clearly frowning at the girl ''I just called you with a nice flower and you are calling me lettuce. Apparently i did a huge mistake and should have called you an aubergine instead.'' He was NOT a lettuce.

*deep frown*

Despite the way how annoying the morning glory - aubergine hybrid girl was, Josh did indeed manage to smile when he heard the voice of his moonflower girl. That yes, what she had just said was right? The morning glory - aubergine hybird was supposed to watch what words flew out of her mouth. He had no idea what the meaning for the lettuce was but he knew something for sure and it was that HE WAS NOT A LETTUCE!

Hopefully his beloved seemed to know this fact. Smiling at her, he spotted the orange rose in her hand which, only Merlin knew why, made him raise and show her the pink rose he had in his hand.
