a shory catch up >_< SPOILER!!: Professor Bishop <3 SPOILER!!: Kyle, Simon, and Zara :) Caroline smiled at the girls named Zara "Nice to meet you, Zara." She was still in shock over what Hannah had said. What was she thinking? Was she crazy? You don't just go around to guys and girls who are friends and start assumming things. Maybe Hannah could read minds. She covered her ears. So she couldn't here what she was thinking. Realizing how crazy she must have looked she put her hands down. She looked from Kyle to Simon. Maybe groups would be a good idea. "Groups. That sounds like a good idea. " |

Penny was glad that Becca was now getting involved in the debate too... "Actually yes, I do seem to remember something about stones and reflections in one of the books I got in Diagon Alley....But how would they work, I mean would you be seeing past, present or future??..." "Lets add it to the list anyway..and if we're wrong, i'm sure the professor will let us know...." Text Cut: Ideas so far |
Anyone wanna join the group? (So far Me, Arielle, Samira) Nika looked over at Ariana and Samira with a smile. She looked around the group in an effort to see if anyone else still needed a group. "Hey anyone wanna join our group?" She said calling out to no one in particular. |

SPOILER!!: Selina & Tayla Kurumi nodded to Selina, hoping to not bring more attention to the second year. Kurumi had always wanted to tell her that she thought it was very brave of her to even attend Divination given her situation. Selina had told Kurumi the other night in the common room that the little baker had more Gryffindor in her than Selina had in herself, but Kurumi had to disagree. Selina had much more inner strength than she was giving herself credit for. Kurumi then turned to Tayla when she mentioned lakes. "Do you suppose the medium and predictions would change if the lakes froze over? Naturally, ice does not freeze evenly, so there would be blotchy spots and cracks here and there." She giggled remembering something that Selina had just mentioned. "You would probably be more able to 'see' strange shapes then." Quote:
This stuff was beginning to seem less and less like an efficient way of performing Divination. |

Rose saw the boy walk over to their table... Penny had invited him to join them, but she was busy talking with Becca at the minute, so she decided to welcome him.. "Hi Jordan, i'm Rose, that is Penny, Becca, Niss and Amy..We're called 'Badgers & Lions'.. pull up a chair" she said with a smile.. "Here's what we got so far"... showing him the piece of parchment with all the suggestions. Text Cut: ideas |

Penny noticed the boy she had invited come over and join them... Hi i'm Penny, I see Rose has shown you what we've gotten so far... right now we're running out of ideas and we're not really sure how to finish off number 7... apart from maybe divining images from the reflections cast when the stone enters the water.... but i'm just guessing, What do you think Jordan?" she finished with a smile... ooc:: It's late here, so i'm off to bed - continue tomorrow :-) |

"Hi Penny. My suggestion was maybe the rock will reflect something GOOD that will happen in the future, based on how smooth the rock is. The smoother the rock, the better your future. That was my suggestion and idea, for smooth rock." |

"So, I'll write, anybody got any ideas? For or against?" Then she labeled the top of her notes. Quote:

Samira too Quote:

"WELL I HAVE AN IDEA!" She said almost bursting out of her seats. "I say we come up with a team name first!" She finished beaming. Applause. Even though it's not the type of idea Ariana was probably looking for it was a necessity, for Nika at least. "I say we should be the rainbow bunnies!" She bounced up and down happily as she kept her cheerful smile on. "I think that we should do it on something else other than a mirror. Because that's so cliche." She said proud of the word that she used. "What about scrying or whatever it's called in aluminum foil or something?" She smiled at her friends. "I think it could work because it's reflective!" |

"Well, I honestly don't think it would work, because there's no magical properties at all to a mirror or tinfoil or whatever. They're just reflections. Now, maybe a true Seer might see stuff in mirrors, but not like everyone, who can just see stuff in crystal balls and other magical items." Completing her short monologue, Ariana updated the notes, adding the name and organizing it into "Yes" and "No" sections. Quote:

"And I think they can work! Maybe it would be hard with tinfoil because it could become all crinkled though. Buuut if it was smooth then it could work!" She said nodding silently. "I think divination always works." |
To my group members ^_^ Samira sighed at the decided group name, but didn't say anything against it. A name wasn't really that important, so she shrugged and said, "The Rainbow Divination Bunnies it is." The Slytherin looked at Nika in slight surprise and addressed the group. "I agree with Pink." She used the nickname she picked for the Gryffindor because, really, Pink was so much cooler than Nika. "I don't think we should do water, and since foil is a reflection it could work." Samira looked at Ariana and Hannah for their input. Samira looked up at the ceiling while thinking. "I don't know...what do you guys think about using jewelry?" If some jewels were shinny enough, it could work. |

"Plus, have you ever seen those street-corner "fortune tellers" in the muggle world? They look into crystal balls and pretend to see the future and they really don't. Proof, right there, that divination is magic and you need to use a magical object." There. Ariana had proven her point. Trust Nika to come up with some ridiculus explanation that made no sense just to be stubborn. They might be best friends, but in class, when it counted for points, Ariana would stop at nothing to be right. SPOILER!!: List |
For all my rainbow divination bunnies(: Quote:
"Hey Arianaaaaaaa can we do both jewelry and foil? We could come up with separate reasonings for both working and not working! Pleaaasseee?" She said puppy dog pouting. "Pretty please with a cherry on top?" *Wibble wibble* |
Kurumi, Simon, Tayla, and everyone who loves to be loved SPOILER!!: Kurumi :) Selina listened intently as Kurumi, Simon, and Tayla spoke. They all seemed very opposed to the possibly of this form of Divination. At every corner they would find another flaw with the technique. Of course Selina agreed. It was easier to agree that it did not happen then confront the reality that it did. Besides what was Selina going to say? Oh yeah guys, I know that what you are all saying is wrong because I've seen th future in mirrors or water... the future just kind of comes to me at anytime. She was not nearly brave enough to admit that. Only Kurumi knew and she was certain that she would not say anything. ...In fact Selina had a hunch that Kurumi was saying all of these things that drew away from the possibility of Seers for a specific reason... She finally chimed in and said, "Yeah, I agree with all of you. The likely hood that the results will end up skewed is very likely. Besides when you want to see something very badly, as Kurumi said earlier, whose to say that it is not simply a hallucination? It is all very faulty, this technique." Then Selina whispered so lowly that only Kurumi could hear, "I'm onto you... and thank you. You're a good friend." |
[QUOTE=aaetha;10344249]"Okay, okay fine. But tinfoil or not, tell me something- have you ever stared into a random, nonmagical reflective... thingy and seen a vision of the future that then came true?" Because Ariana was quite sure she hadn't. Divination was something magical, and that brought her around to something else... "What?! You can't tell me that you don't believe in fortune telling!?! Have you ever had a fortune cookie before? I have one every time I eat chinese food and my fortunes always come true!" Whether by mere coincidence or not Nika didn't mention it. "I think it can be done. Because they all seem to know what there doing. Besides I think that they have to go through some sort of training." Yeah there. "And pluuusss! If fortune tellers are just fakes then how come they get so much money!?!" Huh? Explain that. Hehe. Quote:

Ooh! Ariana had an idea! She knew she hadn't given people time to talk, but she said what she had just thought of anyway. "Maybe it would be good for looking at a certain person, because people wear jewelry right against their skin, in specific necklaces, which are above the heart?" SPOILER!!: List Quote:
"Anyway, we're getting off topic." |
[QUOTE] Quote:
She looked at Ariana to answer the jewelry question."Well, obviously jewelry that you can see a reflection with." She started listing them off on her fingers. "Diamonds, rubies, maybe even pearls." |
