Take his punishment for him? Huh? Seriously? No, no, no. She couldn't be serious. She had not just said that. Looking all surprised and with utter disbelief this time, Josh lifted his head from the she-snake's shoulder and blinked at her a few times. ''How...'' he began shaking his head a bit ''...can you say that? I just asked for...help because i have no idea about this rubbish. You know i would never ask you to have a punishment for me. You know i would never do that.'' Or...maybe she didn't. He was not so sure this time. And it was disappointing. Everyone knew he had been through many punishment situations so far and he had never asked for help before. Not to mention they were mostly the results of his love for her. But there was also something that bothered him pretty much. Yes, it bothered him pretty much so he had to say it. He just had to. ''But just assume i did. I would take any punishment for you. Even the best they can do in the Torture Chamber but...but you can't write a stupid essay for me because i can't do it? Well...thank you Rose, that's very touching.'' Slytherins... >.< |
SPOILER!!: Josh Well Merlin...it was just a simple misunderstanding she supposed. Just about to actually say 'sorry', she closed her mouth shut when he continued. And...now that sorry was lost somewhere. Or maybe it was still there, but she was reluctant to say it now. Well, she wouldn't ask Josh to take her punishments for her, and he wouldn't even have to because she knew when to stop talking before she got one. It was just unlucky times in which she didn't know a professor was nearby when she did get into trouble. "Well maybe if you learned to keep your mouth shut, you wouldn't have to write essays or translate them into runes." she pretty much hissed back, crossing her arms and sitting back in her seat. Gryffindors... Pffft. |

And Josh could start by handing in that essay, within the next fifteen minutes. Text Cut: Responses Jared nodded. "There is no 'one' answer to the question: how long a charm lasts depends upon a number of things, including the charm itself, the abilities and intention of the caster, and external factors. Some charms are irreversible, if a counter-charm is not used." Some irreversible and without a counter-charm, in fact. "Others, if cast correctly, can last for months or even years. Still others wear off after a few hours. This isn't something restricted to charms alone, but spells in general." He paused for a moment, before continuing. "In general, a charm will last longer if cast by an experienced witch or wizard, than it would if cast by someone who has just learned to cast that particular charm -" Quote:
The piece of wood Josh had just split into two, joined itself back together, stayed so - whole and motionless - for a few moments, and then disappeared. Text Cut: Josh and Evelyn xD It hadn't escaped his notice that Josh and Evelyn were whispering to each other, but it only was when the Slytherin forgot to keep her voice down that Jared glanced up. For half a moment. Then he turned back to the class. "We have fifteen more minutes, so I'd like all of you to try out the Bubble-Head Charm, before we wrap up this lesson," he said, to the class as a whole. "The Bubble-Head Charm, as most of you will know, creates a protective bubble around the target area. This can protect the enclosed area from simple spells and, when cast around one's head, allow one to breathe underwater." "The incantation is Viseo Ebullio, and the wand movement is a counter-clockwise motion around the area you want the bubble to form in. Like this." He traced the wand around his hand, and within moments a bubble had formed around his hand. Jared held it up for the class to see, before making it vanish. "Go ahead and give it a try. If you can already cast the charm verbally -" He suspected a good number of fifth years and above would know how to - "Try casting it nonverbally." |
"Professor," she calls out. "If we're going to cast it around our own heads, do we have to move the wand clockwise or counter-clockwise?" she asks curiously with wand still pointed at her face. |
Thea grinned as the bubble appeared around the Professors head. Hm. Picking up her wand again, Thea practised mimicing the wand movement as she mouthed the incantation. After doing this a few times, she took a deep breath. 'Viseo Ebullio!' She said, loudly and clearly. Blinking, Thea watched a bubble form around her head. :x3::x3: Yeyeyeyey! She couldn't stop grinning. |

*thud* "OWW!" he was on the floor again. His laughter died instantly the moment he had fallen of his chair But now he had to perform the spell too. Daichi grabbed his wand that he had placed on his desk during the class and held it in his wand arm. He took a breath and made circling movements counter-clockwise without saying or thinking anything. Not that he could do an nonverbal spell but you never knew. After three circles, Daichi knew what to do and brought the wand to his head. He circled the wand counter-clockwise and praaaayed it worked and that he didn't blow his head up. "Viseo Ebullio" he said, but his voice sounded a tad bit nervous. Nothing happened. He tried again but failed. Another try and a small layer of the bubble became visible until it *popped* broken. He had tried for another good 5 minutes but soon the only highlight was when he had traced a small bit of the bubble and he placed his wand back on the desk. Daichi rested his chin in his hands and stared in front of him miserably. Why couldn't he do ALL spells? He wanted to do spells without failing! Those first years at the front know how to do it SO WHY NOT HE? Daichi pouted his lip as he sighed deeply. Talk about mood swings eh? One moment falling on the floor laughing and the next sulking behind his desk watching with envy how others could perform the charm. |

... the Bubble-Head charm? There? Why? Well, since there was no water around, Helena had nothing to complain about. She held her wand, made a counter-clockwise circle around her right hand and said "Viseo Ebullio." She also couldn't help but giggle, because it sounded funny. Or maybe she was the only one who considered that. But anyway. As she was distracted by the charm's name, she didn't notice that there was a bubble around her hand this time. Hehe. |

Penny was determined to do this right...Watching Professor Descoteaux do the charm on himself, she smiled at the sight of the bubble around his head.. Then focusing again on the task in hand, she pointed her trusty holly wand at her face and moved the wand in a counter-clockwise motion around her face and said the incantation "Viseo Ebullio".... nothing happened - she was slightly disappointed... She tried again, this time doing the movement completely before saying the words... but still nothing !!! "ARGGHHH", she muttered to herself, getting annoyed now.. "Ok Penny calm down and try again", she scolded herself.. For the third time, Penny pointed her wand at her face, concentrating with all her might on the bubble head she wanted to happen... "Viseo Ebullio", while making the counter-clockwise movement... and Penny nearly fell out of her chair in shock... her head was now encompassed in a clear bubble.. she could hear everyone in the room but their voices had an ethereal sound. "Oh look Professor, I did it, I did it!!!" Sitting back comfortably in her chair, with a huge smile on her face :D watching her classmates do the task.. |
Simon looked at the Professor he decided he would try and do the bubble head charm, he wasn't sure if he could cast the spell so he might as well start from the beginning. Simon listened to what the Professor said and then took out his wand, he knew that this was going to be fun. ""Viseo Ebullio." He said as he did the wand movement but nothing happened, normally he would have screamed but he decided against it, he knew he could do it if he concentrated. Simon made sure he was concentrating as much as he could. "Viseo Ebullio." he said as he did the wand movement again and this time it worked, Simon was glad, he was sure that he could do it and now that he had he was happy. |
SPOILER!!: Evelyn and Professor D :D If he had learned to keep his mouth shut then he... What? ''WHAT?'' This time there was the signs of offense added to the disbelief in his eyes as he directly stared into the hazel eyes of her girlfriend. Then, still looking at her, not knowing what he could say, the Gryffindor swallowed a few times, his unblinking dark eyes still fixed at the she-snake. Then, when the Professor spoke, Josh finally looked away from the girl's eyes at the man since it sounded like he was speaking to him. So and this man thought he needed to start acting like an of age wizard. He was already of age no matter what he said anyway! How he acted did not change facts plus he already did not think that he was acting any weird or abnormal. He looked down at the piece of wood when the man started to explain further about the usage of charms referring to the boy's acts as the base for the explanation. But...attempted?!! What? He had NOT attempted to show it. He just directly SHOWED it! First glaring at the now repaired and whole piece of wood, he moved the glare on Professor FrenchMan when it vanished. What was that supposed to mean? Josh did not know. He only knew that he did not like it. Taking a deep breath and sighing, he turned back to face Evelyn ''You can be sure that i will be keeping my big mouth shut from now on'' the words came out of his mouth with a rather bitter tone, right before he left the seat beside her and moved to one of those empty ones at the back of the class...away from everyone else... And of course, he grabbed the parchment roll, quill and ink well of someone random on his way to back of the class. He had a stupid runes essay to write after all. Just...there was one problem; he did not know how to do so. On the other hand this man was no Ancient Runes teacher, right? He was teaching Charms so possibly even he couldn't and wouldn't understand it, so he could just write down random things and hand it as the essay. Yea, not a bad idea. He had no time left for a real translation or trying out nonverbal BubbleHead Charms. It was 15 minutes, after all. That was how much time he had now. Therefore using a few runes that he could remember, Josh picked up the quill and began to fill the parchment with random runes. SPOILER!!: Parchment |
Why wasn't Louisa's answer included in the last Prof's post? :O Quote:
... ... ... Nothing. Huh? Louisa looked at her the tip of her wand and started examining it. Then waving it strongly. Meh. Those wands. Ahem. Again, "Viseo Ebullio!" With that counter clockwise motion, the bubble was materialized around her head. She couldn't help but smile. Okay. So.. how do we get this thing off? |
Ariella sighed. She didn't like the bubble-head charm at all. It made her feel very uncomfortable. She practiced the wand movement, and then the incantation, separately to make sure she had it right. "Viseo Ebullio!" she said firmly, performing a smooth, counter-clockwise motion. She felt the bubble form around her. Pretty simple! She was glad she hadn't made any mistakes. |

Bahhh! Sierra had been so sure they were done after that last question. She'd even shoved her wand back into its holster. She made a slight flick of the wrist and out the wand came. Okay, so what was it again? Bubble-Head Charm. Viseo Ebullio. Counter-clockwise motion. Right. She swept her wand in a counter-clockwise motion around her face. "Viseo Ebullio!" A small bubble, about the diameter of her wand, appeared on her nose. It burst on its own a second later. Sierra frowned at her progress. "Viseo Ebullio!" she said again, making that same counter-clockwise motion. This went on for a least five more minutes. She'd sweep, she'd say, and then she'd wait. The most a bubble ever lasted was three seconds. She'd have drowned with that amount of progress. "Viseo Ebullio!" she said, all her intent on a large, sturdy bubble. Her wand swept around her face in a counter-clockwise motion. Then finally, ...a bubble. A good bubble, too. She walked around a little, testing to see if it'd burst. Nope. No bursting. |
He charmed his hand. *eyes you all* =p The bell rang, signifying the end of the lesson, and Jared glanced around the classroom. The place was a sea of bubble-headed students, and he had to resist the urge to grin. "Class dismissed," he said, straightening up. It seemed another year had gone, faster than he'd expected; and he had a feeling that - on some level, at least - he was going to miss teaching Charms. "Enjoy the rest of the term," he said, as the students collected their bags and wands and books. The week or two that remained of it. "- and have a good summer." |
Quote:
... ... over? Over over? Great. The last lesson of the one subject that Helena loved the most. She packed everything she had, even though she was tempted to do everything on slow motion, just because she was going to miss this class during the summer holidays. "Have a nice summer," the girl said with a large smile on her face, looking up at the man that was standing in front of the classroom. "Goodbye." ... and she left. |
Quietly packing her stuffs back into her sling bag, Aiden drags her head slowly towards the door. She is definitely going to miss Charms and Potions. Suddenly, she stops. "Goodbye, professor," says Aiden in a low and unclear, mumbling voice without looking back. "Have a nice summer," she steps out the door leaving the Charms classroom. |
