Rose walked into the classroom. She took a brownie and sat down.

Fallon walked into the Charms classroom, ready for the lesson. She looked around the normal classroom, not used to seeing it like this. She noticed the cookies and brownies and grabbed a couple of chocolate chip cookies before taking a seat near the front. She looked around the classroom and waited for Descoteaux to show up.

Louisa walked into the Charms classroom praying that this time no water was involved. Water balloons fight and wet playing area were enough. She wanted something dry and.. land-like.

The Professor was nowhere to be found but some DELISH cookies and brownies were there. Having no breakfast whatsoever, Louisa took a bunch of cookies and stuffed her mouth with a big double chocolate brownie without thinking about etiquette or those silly attitudes her mom had insisted on teaching her.

Walking into the classroom, the first thing Evelyn saw made her siiiigghhh. Sure, the classroom was looking rather normal for once which was very nice, but the cookies and the brownies?

Really?

The professor didn't look like he was around though. Would he know if she accidentally...dropped the plates on the floor and stepped on them? Hmmm. She'd have to think about that while she took her seat.

Penny walked into the Charms classroom... saw the table with the note on it.. and helped herself to a cookie.

Looking around saw one ravenclaw, 2 slytherin and one other, trying to remember what her name was - then recalling it was Rose (same as Pennys best friend, Rose Potter)..

"Hi Rose, this class should be fun..at least we won't be following stupid arrows like last lesson", Penny said with a smile, sitting in a chair beside Rose..

"I'm sorry, do you mind if I sit here?"

Simon walked into the classroom and smiled. "Good day Professor, I hope you are well." Simon then sat down and saw there was cookies and a note, he then took a cookie and waited for the class to start.

Nessie walked into there last and final charms lesson a little sad. She really enjoyed charms and she couldn't believe the term was almost over. She looked around at the classroom, only to notice that classroom looked plain and simple. Nothing had been changed, although she kinda wished the classroom wuld have for their last charms lesson of the term.

She then looked at the desk and saw that there was a huge tray filled with brownies and chocolate chip cookies. Nessie knew that brownies and chocolate chip cookies weren't healthy, but she couldn't resist they looked delicious and she was pretty hungry after all. She took two cookies and one brownie, she didn't feel right taking anymore. She then spotted a seat in the middle of th classroom and sat down.

Something was missing from the classroom Nessie could feel it. She looked around once again trying to spot what it was. Only to realize that the Proffessor wasn't in the classroom. Thats strange! Where could he be? thought Ness. She tried to come up with all different ideas where the Proffessor could be untill class had started.

Helena entered the Charms classroom to find it...

... normal.

Seriously. It looked completely normal. And no professor as well. Alright.

The girl also spotted the brownies and the cookies, but she didn't take anything, since she wasn't hungry at all, even though they looked delicious. She took a seat at the nearest desk and propped her head in her palm, elbow on desk, while she was gently tapping the desk with her finger tips. Too bad she didn't have long nails to make that annoying sound.

Having take care of certain... things, Jared slipped into the classroom, an ancient-looking tome tucked under an arm. The place had filled up, and he gave the class a smile in general. "Good afternoon. Looking forward to the summer?"

He placed the book he'd been carrying on his table, and turned to face the students. "Since it's close to the holidays, and I'm sure no one is looking forward to extra study load, especially not those sitting OWLs and NEWTs -" Those kids had enough to study, as it was - "Today's lesson will be a review lesson. We’re going to have a quiz that will be part-theoretical, part-practical. This means some questions will require you to cast charms." In the nick of time. "Not all the questions will be worth the same amount of points, and there may be certain restrictions on several of the questions, so make sure you pay attention before answering."

He gave them several moments to digest the information and settle down. "Right, then. Let's start with the basics. First question, for two points and for all the houses... what is a charm?"



OOC: Some of the questions may be for Gryffindor/ Hufflepuff/ first years/ etc. ONLY the students these questions are aimed at, should answer them. Other than thaaat... the tone of this lesson be informal-ish, so you RP'ing your charries talking or stuff, in smaaall doses, be fine. No hugging. =p <3

Kurumi's hand shot up. "A charm is one of the known spell types. Charms are different from transfigurations spells because a charm focuses on changing what the object does as opposed to what the object is. An example of this is changing its color."

Helena's back had instantly straightened as professor Descoteaux entered the class. And... a review lesson? Alright.

A charm. Again. "It is an enchantment that makes something behave in an unnatural way," the girl said with her hand raised. "And definitely not Transfiguration." Yup, she got that.

Samira quickly raised her hand, eager to earn some points. "Professor, a Charm is magic that causes an object to act differently, as opposed to the norm. It's different from Transfiguration because it's not really changing the object."

"Well a charm is a spell that causes an object to behave differently then it normally would. It does not change what the objrct is like transfiguration", Chloe responded with her hand raised high.

They were having a review? Huh. Either way, she raised her hand anyway. "A charm is a spell that causes the object to behave in a way that it's not normally known to do. It may change that object on the outside, like the color or the way it appears, but doesn't actual change what the object has been...originally." If, that made any sense.

Right enough. Jared nodded. "You're all correct." He wasn't going to repeat what had just been said, considering he was sure all of them knew what a charm was... or, at least, he'd like to think they did.

"Second and third years. For two points - why is aguamenti not a charm?"

Louisa raised her hand excitedly, this whole class was going to be fun! "Because it doesn't quite conjures water out of thin air, it transforms the humidity in the air to usable water." Or any water source nearby. Probably. Right?

Why wasn't it a charm? Ahhh she remembered this one from the first lesson of the term. "Because it conjures water, which is Transfiguration," Helena said quickly with her hand in the air.

Kurumi thought for a moment and cocked her head to the side. "I thought Aguamenti was a charm, Professor." Sure, they had had a debate from the previous discussion of the spell, but a thought came to her that she hadn't brought up previously. "Aguamenti, in a sense, changes the behavor of the wand by 'conjuring' water from it. I mean conjuring in a very abstract sense and not literally." She paused for a moment. "You could compare this to Lumos which makes the tip of the wand glow - once again changing the behavior of the wand. In Aguamenti's case, this is not light, but a stream of clear, potable water to issue from the tip of the caster's wand."

Or was he also implying that Lumos wasn't a charm as well?

This certainly was an outside of the box way of looking at this particular charm, but somehow it made logical sense in her brain - even if they had not discussed the charm in this manner the previous class.

Lara remembered that they studied this earlierbut she only remembered the question. She didn't remember the answer. Nevermind Lara raised her hand and said "Maybe because it doesn't have an affect on anything" she answered "it just conjures water" She lowered her hand. She hoped that this was the answer to that question. She is supposed to remember it

"Exactly," Jared agreed. "Take two points each."



"For two points and all the houses... What is the wand movement for Luxra Magnifica?"

Aiden has never learned this charm properly, but she knows she has read about it somewhere. "It's a circle..." she pauses to think. "And then an "X"..." answers Aiden unconfidently.

Luxra Magnifica?

Ahhh that cool charm that they've learned last term. "We have to make a circle and an X," Helena said with a tiiiiny grin on her face. She LOVED that charm. Hehe.

Eino raised his hand. "First you draw a circle with your wand, then an X." One of the spells Eino despised for having a complicated, or at least not a simple enough, wand movement. Sure it was easy to remember when you were calm but if you were in dire need of it in a stressful situation, there was no way he could.

Good Merlin, she was already dozing off? Perhaps dozing off wasn't the right word. "You have to create a circle first before making an X." she said, right after raising her hand. Hmm, day dreaming was a better word, definitely. It wasn't her fault though that aquamenti made her be reminded of the lagoon. Pffft.
