Oh great. As if trying to scribble down all of these answers fast enough wasn't hard. Now they're going to play the game!? Nika walked over to the equipment looking a bit pale. She didn't want to get on a broom. Not after the last few attempts. She put on her goggles, the robes, and gloves and just stood their while her face got paler and paler.

Lexi flailed a little from where she sat before scrambling up and rushing to the rack of robes and snatching a pair up. She was SO stoked ABOUT THE FIRE. Hehehe. After donning the robes and giggling as they shrunk to fit her just right she grabbed up some goggles and gloves and donned them as well. Stopping in front of Professor Vindictus she bounced a bit as she said, "Best lesson EVER, sir! Are you REALLY going to let us fly through stuff that's on FIRE?!" Because THAT was total, epic, unfaltering WIN. So says Lexi.

They were going to be playing Aingingein? That was so WICKEDLY AWESOME!!!!! Flying through hoops or barrels or whatever of FIRE! Yeah, Eino was going to enjoy this flying lesson. Of course, there was one tiny problem: The fact that he was a terrible flyer. Nonetheless, that thought didn't even cross his mind. The only thing he was hoping for was that by "modified" Professor Vindictus didn't mean to remove the dangerous part of the sport, because then it wouldn't be fun anymore. So, of course, when professor Vindictus mentioned that the equipment was fireproof Eino jumped with joy and ran towards the racks and boxes as quickly as he could. He took a robe, put it on, took a pair of goggles and gloves and put them on. Yes, they fitted him perfectly. He then proceeded to the broom rack, took one of them, and returned to where the Professor was standing. Hopefully these brooms weren't cursed like last time...

GASP!

Vindictus was a legilimens. Crazy!

Though, Ellie shouldn't really think that now, should she? She'd have to monitor her thoughts. As if she didn't already respect the Professor and was intimidated by his superiority, he could now READ HER MIND. MORE respect right there.

And if he were to read her mind NOW, he'd find a bunch of excited outbursts. BECAUSE THEY WERE PLAYING AINGINGEIN!

Ellie jumped up and exchanged robes for the uber cool fire-safe ones. Same with her broom and the other accessories. And all with a GRIN on her face.

And more respect for Vindictus and his awesome choice of games. Ellie was probably on the verge of IDOLIZING the man.

Mina's eyes got huge as she heard what they were about to do. They were going to play a modified game of Aingingein and fire was to be involved, well hopefully.

FIRE!

Part of her was a bit concerned, but that part of her was silenced by the part, well the big part in her that did love fire! This lesson was seriously starting to rank up there with the one time they had that field to the lake and they got to make rafts and that one field trip to the Shrieking Shack.

Grabbing a robe, a pair of goggles and some gloves, she placed them on and watched them conform to her. Okay, that was just so cool to her. Giving her hand a shake to ensure her gloves were tightly one, she went to retrieve a broom.

They were really going to play with fire! She was DEFINITELY going to enjoy this class.

Of course they were going to play a game! And if it wasn't so dangerous, then Arya probably would have been as excited as the other students were. Still, knowing Vindictus' lessons, she WAS excited.

The prefect hopped up and skipped over to the robes and boxes. Making sure to grab the best set of equipment. Didn't want any injuries. And it was a good thing she didn't bring her own broom, cause her's didn't have special fire-protection charms.

Should she be worried that these did?

Thank Merlin it was this game that they were going to play rather than something like Creaothceann. And not only that, but all that stuff was fireproof. Safe (for the most part) AND fun. Except... Well, she hoped the Dom was modified too. She REALLY didn't want to hold a goat's gallbladder.

Vashti got up, grabbed a robe, goggles, and gloves, and put them all on before grabbing a broom.

"WHAAAAAT?!" Kurumi squeaked rather loudly before throwing her hands to her mouth to muffle the rest of her squealing.

Kurumi had already had her year's worth of fire thanks to the potion's storeroom fire, which had resulted in a prompt trip to the hospital wing. Her father had been furious with her for pulling a stunt like she had done - namely being near a fire that was any larger than that coming from a candle.

Hands still covering her mouth, Kurumi grabbed her supplies and began sloooooooowly putting them on. Just as Professor Vindictus has said, they all shrunk to their proper size and soon she was covered in fireproof attire. Could she wear one more layer? Just to be safe?

She let out another muffled squeak when the Flying professor mentioned that their chances of SURVIVING were at risk were they not to wear the proper gear.

Merlin help her...

Professor Vindictus wasn't taking any chances and he performed a fire-protection charm on all of the students who were present for the lesson. Now they were completely protected from the dangers of getting burnt to a crisp during the lesson.

Now it was time to reveal the barrels.

All thirty of them.

With a dramatic swish and flick of his wand the barrels on stilts appeared.

He grinned at the students and gave his wand one final flick, and the barrels erupted in flame.


"Instead of using the gallbladder of a goat, we're going to use these old Quaffles that have been stripped of their charms," he said as he pointed to the broom rack. "The only charm I've placed on them is the same one that I placed on all of you . . . which I should explain before someone starts freaking out while flying in the middle of a burning barrel."

Dramatic pause.

"Fire will touch you," he began, "But you won't burn. It may sit on the surface for several seconds - enough time for panic to set in. You will feel the heat, but it won't hurt."

"The object is for you to take the 'Dom' and fly through the elliptical course of thirty barrels. When you fly, go straight through the middle of the barrel," Vindictus explained and pointed to the nearest barrel. "And whatever you do, don't stop inside the barrel!"



"It's big enough for one person to fly through. Now, I'm not timing you today. I want you to experience the dangerous thrill of the game. For the daredevils out there, you can fly this course as many times as you like. For the squeamish, do your best and if you can't finish the course, you have permission to fly above the course and then land safely beside me."

"Are there any questions?"

Oh dear Merlin and Morgana... and Circe even... Vindi set that barrel on FIYAH! Oh! Lexi couldn't do much other than STARE for a moment. It was PRETTY.

Wait... he was talking. Oh right. "No, sir. No questions. Can we fly now?" she asked in her high pitched super excited voice as she bounced all the way to the brooms and grabbed one and slung her leg over... she didn't kick off from the ground yet, but yeah... she was SO ready.

"Yes, you can all start flying!" Vindictus exclaimed to the class.



OOC: To earn participation points, you must have at least 6 different posts of you performing the task. I'm not expecting anyone to be perfect!

It's okay to have your charrie freak out, get a little fire on them (the flames will burn themselves out in 10 seconds, btw), fall off their broom, crash into a burning barrel, etc.

Just NO INJURIES or DEATH. If you purposely kill your student character or subject them to a mortal injury, you will no longer be able to RP in the school until next term (this is not a joke).

Remember, Vindictus has placed a spell on EVERYONE that protects them from being burned by the burning barrels.

This lesson will close on Saturday before the start of the Quidditch game, so make sure you're finished by then.

Willaim listened to the professor. William donned a robe, a pair of goggles and gloves. William grabbed a school broom with a the special fire protection. William flre through the barrel of fire. " Professor, that was hot, I mean cool" William laughed.

Eino watched in awe as Professor Vindictus set the barrels on fire and then the charms on the students. EVERYTHING WAS BURNING! This was the most exciting flying class ever; Eino was burning with exciting!

First things first. He took a few steps back, away from the barrels, and mounted his broom. He needed to warm up his flying skills before he could attempt to go through the flaming barrels, otherwise it would be disastrous. He pushed himself off the ground and was now hovering about two feet from it. He began to steer the broom's handle slowly and began flying in circles for a while. Then the other way. Then rose a couple more feet above the ground and continued his warm up practice. It didn't seem like it would be too hard going through the barrels. All he had to do was aim himself to go through them and not fast, which meant he should work on flying a little faster. Two mile per hour wasn't going to get him anywhere. He began to increase velocity slightly by bending forward and gripping the broom's handle tighter. The more the bent his body into a horizontal position the faster hew flew, so he tried to find a safe speed at which he could fly for now.

OMGosh! This is gonna be AWESOME! Rose grinned to herself. She grabbed her robe, gloves, goggles and broom and layed the broom on the ground. 'UP!' She commanded and mounted it. She flew into the air and flew straight through a barrel. Woah....

Wiliam takes the Dom and flys through the barrel again with ease. " Outasight profeesor" William told him.

Rose picks up a Quaffle, by flying over and grabbing it. She flies through all thirty barrels, whilst doing so freaking out about catching on fire...

William now takes the Dom and goes backwards throught the burning barell. " Yippie" Wiliam called out inadverntly. William is excited about this part of the lesson.

Mina's eyes literally lit up as she saw the burning barrels before her. She did like how they burned brightly. Fire was ever so pretty and she was really looking forward to flying through those barrels.

With a grin on her face, she skipped over to grab a quaffle and mounted the broom. Tucking the quaffle under her arm and getting a firm grip on the handle of the broom, she kicked off and took to the sky. She wanted to get an ever closer look at the barrels before she flew through them.

Flying toward the barrels, she did a quick circle around one of them and pulled back. The flames looked really cool and she did want to try to fly through them. The tiny voice inside was a bit worried still. Pushing back her worries, she went for it.

Making sure that the quaffle was safely tucked away, she flow out and turned back around and flew toward the first flaming barrel. If she flew through it quickly, she reasoned that maybe her nerves wouldn't cause her all that much trouble. Taking a breath, she leaned in close to the broom and picked up speed as she aimed herself toward the middle of the first barrel.

Barely centring herself through the barrel, her left arm grazed the barrel and a small flame caught on her glove. Unaware of it, she continued one as she made her way completely through the barrel. The heat from the flame was starting to flicker and that alone was what caught her attention. In a brief moment of panic, she nearly dropped the quaffle, but then it dawned on her. She felt no pain and with that the flame had extinguished itself.

Well, that was one barrel down. 29 more to go.

Rose exited the barrels. 'Hey! I did it!' Rose called out. She flew back to the start and did it again. This was what she called adrenaline.

Salander grabbed the fire retardant gear, seized a quaffle and slung his legs over the broom. Going head first through a burning barrel? Awesome! Flying through burning barrel-- not so much. Anybody who has seen his flying skills would know that its better to keep this lad grounded.

But then again just how often can he get to go all Evel Knievel with a professor's stamp of approval?

Watching the burning barrels there was a mixture of excitement and anxiety. He kicked off from the ground, slowly (like really slowly) gaining altitude as he headed towards the first barrel....

Kurumi felt as though she were going to faint when she saw the barrels erupt into flames and her eyes flicked towards Lexi when she heard the eagerness in her voice. Kurumi hugged the broom Simon gave to her tightly and eyed Professor Vindictus when he told them it was time for take off.

Okay...just carry the waffle quaffle in your arms, fly through a few barrels, and come back. She could handle this. Probably.

Broom in hand, Kurumi picked up a quaffle and felt her stomach sink a bit. It just reminded her of the daunting task ahead, and she wasn't thinking about the barrels.

Kurumi tucked the ball under her left arm and held out her right hand. "UP!" she commanded and the broom shot off the ground and right into her hands. Much different from when she had used a school broom. Kurumi could see the part in the handle where Simon had carved his name in it for her and she smiled softly. She then threw her left leg over the handle, adjusted herself a bit so she was more balanced and looked up towards the sky.

Here goes nothing...

She kicked off the ground hard and zoomed up in the air. Soon, she was already a good ten feet above the ground and NOT freaking out. Merlin! It was a miracle!

Aiden could not believe that they have to fly through the flaming barrels at first. After she puts on the fireproof robes, gloves and goggles. Then, she picks up an old Quaffle before mounting the fire-protected broom.

She is trembling. She knows that she should trust Vindictus, but who is not afraid of flying through thirthy flaming barrels? Aiden takes a deep breath. After that, she zooms into the first barrell at full speed and concentration.

She did it!

However, her eyes are now widened and hands are shaking.

Are we actually playing this game? Janice thought. It's dangerous, with a 85% risk of getting burnt off their toes. Fortunately, Professor V had cast an anti-flammable charm on us.
Janice mounted her broom and took a dead quaffle, then she shot upwards and head for the lighted barrels.
She hesitated in front one barrel, and went in. It was hot, but it didn't hurt. She flew out, and flew in a few other barrels.

They were going to be playing Aingingein? Like, for real? Seriously? Professor Vinny may be crazy in her opinion, but he was the awesome crazy Professor right now.

Going over to pick up a pair of goggles, robes, and a new broom, wondering why she had to bring her own in the first place, her gaze moved over to the barrels that appeared. Wait, she thought they were playing- Ohhhh.



Was anyone else seeing this?! DID THEY SEE THE FLAMES!?

Grabbing one of the quaffles, having to adjust her grip on it since it annoyingly kept slipping from her grasp, she mounted the broom and kicked off from the ground, zooming straight for the first barrel. The barrel of flames. FIRE! Akasdklfnaskdfn.... She didn't realize she stopped in front of the barrel and was just staring now either.

Now, that was fun! After getting hold of herself, Aiden grips the broom tightly in one hand and the Quaffle in another. With full concentration, she flies through another few barrels.

Six down, twenty four more to go. Aiden smirks. It is not too scary after a few times.
