Lexi was seated on the grass with her pretty pink broomstick laid out beside her, a smile on her face. Hehehe. OH! They were talking about quidditch?! WIN! Vindi was total win.

Just as she raised her hand to answer there were shouts from like... everyone calling out the answer. EVERYONE knew there were 7 people to a quidditch team. SADFACE. She would wait until the next one. Mhm.

Sitting down on the grass, her own broom next to her, Evelyn watched everyone else come towards the lesson before her attention turned back to the pirate hat Vinny. Wow, was it just her, or was he excited today?

That being a more than likely bad thing...

Yet, the first question had her leaning back on her hands, and tilting her head to the side as she listened to all the others answer. Yea, okay, seven players, chaser, keeper, beaters, and seeker...awesome. They all knew that, yes?

Penny smiled at the question..raising her hand in the air.."There are 7 players Sir.. One Seeker, One Keeper, Three Chasers and Two Beaters"

Kurumi's eyes were bugging out of her head again as she sat on the grass with her new broom clutched in her arms as the conversation went to Quidditch.

She knew she should be expecting this, considering this WAS Flying after all, but she just wasn't entirely ready to face the music what with Gryffindor's first match coming up in the next few days. At least Professor Vindictus wasn't talking like a pirate right now. She could at least understand him.

Kurumi used her fingers as she counted off the players on the pitch in her head. Seven, yep...she held her hands out a bit as if showing Professor Vindictus how many like a preschooler might.

'Well, there's one Keeper, who blocks the Quaffle getting into the hoops, there's three Chasers who have to score using the Quaffle, two Beaters who have to hit Bludgers at the other team and protect their team from them and one Seeker who has to catch the Golden Snitch, therefore, usually, winning the game as the team gets 150 points...' Rose said

"Conan, did you not hear the question?" Vindictus asked with a raised eyebrow and shook his head. Time to move on.

"Each of you are correct. Two points each for your answers," Vindictus replied and he saw that a few more hands were raised.

"William, I was only asking about one team and not how many Quidditch players play in a match," he began. "There's only one Seeker on a team and fourteen players total in a game. I'll give you one point for naming the different positions. "

Vindictus smiled at Kurumi. He saw her and nodded. "That's right, Kurumi. There are seven members on a team. One point for your answer."

"Rose, you forgot to say how many members were on a team," Vindictus smiled. "One point for your answer."

"Now I'm glad that you know the basics about Quidditch but we're not going to focus on wizarding's favorite sport. Nope! I'll leave that for another lesson."

Dramatic pause.

"Let's discuss ancient broom games. The broom games that make you prove that you have guts," Vindictus grinned. "Who can tell me the names of the two cities that fliers race between in the annual broom race of Sweden? Just the names of the cities."

People who rode brooms were crazy.

Period.

But Maddox was sitting in a flying class listening to everyone yabbering about Quidditch. And she tried to keep her eyes from crossing at the boredom of it all. She was not a gal for Quidditch.

But she was in class and that was always a cause for celebration, if you asked her.

Lexi's hand shot into the air and she bounced a bit in her spot. "The race is called the Vasalopp, professor!" she called out excitedly. SHE LOVED BROOM GAMES! EEEE.

Conan frowned, "I only know that position. I don't know anything else about Quidditch." Which made him feel really stupid in this lesson.

"There's a broom race in Sweden?" he mouth fell open. He thought that there was only magical people in Britain. Now in Sweden too. Wow he really needed to read more.

No wait... that wasn't right... She was TOO excited... that was a ski race wasn't it? She lowered her hand and chewed on her lip. "I think that's the name of a ski race... " she muttered to herself more than to Vindi. Feh. She was just... too excited about flying class. Hehehe.

Okay, so the first question was okay. This one he wasn't sure about. See, he'd heard about an epic race across Sweden. And he knew it involved dragons - the bit that can caught his attention for him to remember it. Short-snouts, to be precise. But, Swedish cities? Why couldn't Professor Vindictus ask about the DRAGONS? Even if he knew them, he probably couldn't pronounce them.

Hmph.

"Stockholm?" he pondered. That was in Sweden right? And for the other one...a guess. "Aaaand, er, Thingymabob."

Yep, totally right. If you weren't actually listening.

Simon listened to the next question, trying to think back to what he knew of the race in question. Finally remembering, the captain raised his hand to answer. "That would be the race from Kopparberg to Arjeplog," he said lowering his hand.

"Good one!" Vindictus laughed. Leave it to him to ask an important question when a flock of birds started squawking overhead.

"Let's try this again and hopefully everyone will hear the question. What are the names of the two cities that fliers race between in the annual broom race of Sweden? Just the names of the cities."

Penny raised her hand in the air again.."Sir, I think it's called The Vasalopp race and its a course of 437 miles from Kopparberg to Arjeplog...the winner gets a trophy in the shape of the Swedish dragon...I think it's called the Swedish Short Snout"

Ancient broom games? So what was the whole point of the Quidditch question beforehand? Hmm. Sierra eyed the professor and shrugged to herself. She guessed he just threw the whole Quidditch question out there as a warm-up of sorts. "Kopparberg and Arjeplog," she said, her hand in the air, "are the two cities they race between." Then she lowered her hand and went to back to nonchalantly waiting for the next question. Flying was something she enjoyed...and something she was good at. Too bad she just couldn't come to school to fly and brew potions.

SNORTLE!

Lexi raised her hand high and waved it a little bit for EMPHASIS. "From Koppaberg to Arjeplog, siiiiiir!" she said in a sing song voice. Hehehe.

"They race from Kopparberg to Arjeplog." Ellie answered.

More questions like these would be fantastic.

Kurumi's hand shot up. Thank Merlin she had been sticking her nose in every book about Flying and Quidditch the past month once she found out she was on the Gryffindor team. She had hoped that something would sink in...more techniques than random facts, but she would take what she could get. "It begins in Kopparberg and ends in Arjeplog," Kurumi chirped, most likely ruining the pronunciation of the names. The first sounded much more like Copperburger and the second, well, she would be happy if Professor Vindictus was able make out what she had said. She didn't know how to pronounce Swedish....

Merlin...were they going to race around the world or something?

What?! Now Nika's confused. So she's just gonna sit and watch and maybeee take notes...

"Correct! One point each for your answers," Vindictus replied and another hand shot up in the air.

He listened. "There actually isn't an official name for the race, and my question was only about the cities. One point for your answer."

Vindictus looked at the class. "The dangerous aspect of this race is the fact that the course run straight through a dragon reserve. But don't worry - I'd never make you race on a course that involves dangerous creatures, such as dragons!"

"There's another ancient broom game and it originated in Germany. Can anyone tell me the name of this game? Just the name," he asked with emphasis on the last three words.

Hah. "Stitchstock was the German one, right?" It totally was. Ellie knew it. Totally.

"Stichstock, Sir"

OOO OOOO OOOO! Lexi raised her hand and said, "Stitchstock!" Yep, she loved Vindi's classes. Hehehe.

It seemed Simon had been correct despite the fact he had felt the quidditch official hadn't heard him in the first place hence the repeating of the question after the answer. "That could be Stichstock," he said supplying the answer just as a few others did as well. At least he wasn't taking anything away from them.

Germany as well? There were Wizards everywhere? What on Earth? He would have to talk to someone about this. "Ummmm broomball?" That didn't sound very German. But he couldn't think of the word for broom right now.
