And then Ellie giggled. He eyed her curiously. From sad to giggling? Hmph.
"It certainly was," he replied with a grin, thinking of the epic pirate ship battle he'd had with a few of the local boys. He'd managed to quite successfully replace his quidditch bruises with a good few more. And even after his double black eyes, he still refused to use his bruise paste so he could relish in the purple-browness of them all.
"What I made?" From happily reminescing about his days in the woods, Spike fingered the paper bag with it in nervously. "Oh. It's nothing much..." He looked at it, before lifting his gaze under his curls back to Ellie. "You know, you like, bought me those awesome dinosaurs? From the museum? I kinda did you something to say thanks." He held it in his hands a moment longer, before passing it over. Hopefully she'd like it, cos he'd spent a long time thinking it through and carving it out.
Hang on. The Charms Professor? "You did lessons over the summer?" For real? He snorted. Spike actually couldn't think of anything much worse. Summer was for being free and outside. But...the other thing, sounded a bit more interesting. "Like Quidditch training?" Oh, how he'd missed flying. The rope swing had been fun, but flying was so much better. Jealous much. Pout. Understandingly, Ellie smiled at the ickle boy. He was relating, she was sure, best he could.
And she continued to smile. He was so cute. Everything was exciting to him. Even simple things, like bugs.
...and toy dinosaurs. "Aww. You shouldn't've." She just knew how much he'd probably have liked to be there. It was the least she could do to bring the museum to him.
She took the package and just held it, uncertain of whether she was supposed to open it now or not. "Should I..?" Open it? Hmmm?
Lessons over the summer?! Oh MERLIN no. Ellie VIGOROUSLY shook her head. That would be so pathetic. "No way. We had adventures. Ice climbing and the like." Mhm. FUN stuff. "Yeah, for Quidditch. Dad got a Snitch after we won the championship, so I could practice Seeker." She still wasn't sure she like it much, but the win definitely made the position more appealing.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Elle Jackson First Year | Anyone want to RP? :D
As Elle got to Platform 9 3/4, all she could think about was getting to Hogwarts to start learning! She was getting excited, when she realized she didn't see anyone she knew. She had made a few friends in Diagon Alley, but didn't see them anywhere. She stepped onto the train, and looked for an empty compartment...

Spike gave her a crooked grin. "I wanted to," he said with a nod. "Cos I've had so much fun with those dinosaurs." Hence why a few were already scattered on the seat beside him. "And you took all those photos for me too. It was like I was actually there." He smiled. He hadn't managed to persuade his parents to take him to see it all for himself, but he had managed to sit and research a few of the creatures a bit (on rainy days, when he wasn't allowed in the woods). Mainly to try and convince his parents he was interested purely for 'educational purposes'...not that even that effort had convinced them.
"Probably," he answered, now looking at the hastily wrapped gift doubtfully. "I mean, you don't have to. But what's the fun of having something if you don't know what it is?" He shrugged. "I can try again if you don't like it..."
Phew. No lessons. He didn't think Ellie would be like that, because she was a cool 'Claw. "Ice climbing? Where?" That sounded fun. And dangerous. And therefore, exciting. If only he could go on such big adventures... "Lucky you!" he said, speaking about both the adventures and the Quidditch. "Do you play in the garden?" Ah, if only he could. He'd need his own broom though, first. And a bigger back garden. And someone he could play with. Because the idea of his Dad on a broom? Bwahaha. Never gonna happen.

Reluctantly turning his head for fear that the bully would take advantage to punch him to a pulp right then and there, Theodore turned and his expression lightened up as he saw one of the friendly students he had met in Diagon Alley: Braeden.
The curly-headed teen's fears dissipated for a short moment as he processed the other student's greeting. Theo? Was that a "thing," now? He supposed he didn't mind his new nickname, considering that his name's full pronunciation was utterly embarrassing. He turned to face the tyrant, apparently dubbed Riley, for a moment before he looked at Braeden with a terrified expression on his face. "I... I..." Glancing from his robes, to the lion-maned boy, to Riley, back to his robes, and then Braeden once more, he spoke the first thing that came to mind. "I didn't know about the robe thing," He mumbled, glancing at the angry teen once more. Theodore took a hand to rub his temple, which was still throbbing from the collision. Riley indeed looked as if the collision between Theodore's skull and his cheekbone was forming quite the mark on his face.
Would Braeden be able to piece together what had happened? If Braeden knew Riley, would he know what a short temper he possessed? Instinctively, Theodore side-stepped closer to the kinder of the two that he stood near, for fear of getting dropkicked in the corridor of the train. He feared that if he spoke a word of what had just passed that Riley would really have it in for him. Braeden watched with amusement as Theodore seemed to have some internal debate in his head, stammering for a moment before finally explaining to the Gryffindor boys that he didn't know about 'the robe thing'. Chuckling with amusement at the shorter boy's innocence, Braeden elbowed him playfully. "Hey don't worry 'bout it, mate; I did the same thing my first three years here. You'd think I would've learned after the first time…" he trailed off, shaking his head slightly to himself, as if disappointed by his own silliness.
"Anyway, I see you two have met now, eh?" added the Gryffindork with one of his lopsided grins as he turned his large brown eyes to Riley, then to Theo, and back. "Check it out, Ri, he's from the States," Braeden announced to his old friend, as if someone from the States was that unusual of a sight. But, for Braeden, who had never been outside of his hometown, Hogsmeade, and a volcanic island in Italy, anyone from outside his hometown was a completely difference species; and a fascinating species, too.
It wasn't long until a whole line had formed behind Braeden, though, and the boy found himself shoved into the nearest compartment. OHEY! It was empty, too! Niiiice!
Poking his head out the compartment door, Braeden turned to his two friends, "I got shoved and pushed into found an empty compartment, guys!"

Peeking through the open compartment doors, she hoped to catch sight of someone she knew. If not, it would be back to her own compartment and some reading. She had no issues with that, but she did want to socialize a little before turned all completely studious again. Carter was always amazed by the fact that two days ago the summer seemed like it was never going to end - and now he was on a train back to Hogwarts. Carter was also amazed that this would be the next to last time this would ever happen. He was already a 6th year! How crazy! It seemed like just yesterday he was on this train for the first time being scared out of his wits by the older kids and talk of werewolves.
Which... the rumors were true, but still... not the best news for a first year student...
But that wasn't the point. The point was despite all of the craziness Hogwarts was his home, and he was excited to be going back.
Climbing aboard the back of the train he spotted someone that he couldn't believe he was seeing. "Mina?" he called skeptically through the crowd.
It was her! Without waiting for a response he ran down the hall and gave her such a big hug he was sure that she'd be knocked to the ground by the force of it.
But he didn't care. He was just glad she was coming back! Now that he and Marie were talking again and Mina was back maybe he'd have a normal year.

Staring at the curly haired kid he wasn't sure whether or not to punch him in the face to show him how bad his face hurt or let him be. Being the merciful and kind Gryffindor he was, Riley did NOT punch him (Mostly out of fear his uncontrollable locks would attack his hand like a bubotuber plant). Before another insult could spill from the spoiled boy's mouth Brae showed up, even though he was his friend, the up-beat and happy Gryffindor seemed to worsen his mood in times of personal strife like these sometimes. "Hey Brae." he said massaging his cheek for a second and then letting his hand down. He wasn't going to mention what happened to the guy because he seemed to be friends with the troll. Kind of just nodding and agreeing here and there, Riley glanced a death stare at the other kid, Theo or whatever. This was not over in between them even if they had to pretend to be friends for Brae's sake, but he would not always be around.
Walking past Braeden, sure he woundn't take notice of his usual sour mood, Riley entered the compartment and took the best seat by the window out of habit. As if Theo wasn't there Riley began to speak. "I DID notice he was a Yank Brae and why is it you act as the shelter home for kids?" he was making fun of his nice demenor to strangers and how it was would be looked down upon in his family, especially Americans. Pfft..another thing to not like about Theo.

It wasn't until he heard a couple first years wondering what every first year always does. The journey to Hogwarts was one of great expectations when it was the first one. He remembered it like it was yesterday? No, he didn't. It's been five years since that.
He turned towards that compartment and smiled at the students in it, "Actually, I think we'll be arriving in a few more hours," he said, nodding at them, "But you guys have nothing to do, really, just enjoy your journey to the Castle and relax while you still can." That was true.

Not that Spike needed help in the dinosaur sound effect department. He was quite capable of being rather loud and scary on his own...as Ellie would probably find out at some point later on in the journey.
He nodded, and a blush came to his cheeks. "I did it in me den, from an old log I found." He tilted his head to one side. "I thought it'd suit you more than a bug would." He chuckled. "Just, well, mind for splinters..." Cos he hadn't really got a supply of sand paper, and even he could have used his wand to do it out of school, he was clueless as to a suitable spell.
"You go climbing up ice, and you only know it was some glacier thing?" He looked at her indignantly. C'mon, it sounded a whole lot more exciting than just some old thing. Almost on a par with being on a pirate ship climbing the rigging in a raging storm (aka climbing the rope swim whilst getting buckets of ice cold water thrown at you).
"You'll be ace this year then," Spike said with a grin. "More ace, I mean. Cos you did an awesome job last year."

Replying to the fifth year, "Thats also true. Us first years haven't experienced this yet. What is your name again? My name is Jordan." Precisely. All the more reason to just sit back and enjoy themselves. Something that Treyen wasn't really doing this train ride, by the way. The fifth year should follow some part of that advice. The boy still nodded as the first year replied.
Oh! But the Prefect had failed to introduce himself, right? "I'm Treyen, Treyen Lockhart, Hufflepuff Prefect," he said, and eyed the book the other boy was reading, his smile widened at that sight, "It's nice to meet you, Jordan." They were all aware of the Food Trolley, right? Well, the Prefect didn't even mention that, because he decided to ask something else instead, "What is it that you're reading?" he had trouble with seeing the cover more clearly. Quote:

That was another way of spending one's time on the train. Sleeping. "Hi there," he smiled, "Treyen Lockhart, Hufflepuff Prefect," he repeated towards the other boy, but he still felt completely weird saying that new addition to his name. Weird, so weird. Yet, nice. "You are?" he asked, it was only polite to ask the name, yes?

Cos you did an awesome job last year." Ellie nodded, "Agreed. If only pictures could make sound." Actually, she was quite serious about that. Portraits could talk...couldn't pictures? "It's amazing, Spike! Really!" Still no hugs, though. Maybe later sometime. When she KNEW it was safe. And, yes, it was much better than a bug. Ellie took another good look at it, and gently set it on the seat beside her.
Sheepishly, she shrugged. "He just said, 'hey let's do something fun' and we apparated in front of this big wall of ice." After seeing it, she didn't exactly think to ask where they were. It was too exciting. She just wanted to CLIMB it.

My name is Elle, what's yours?" |
